It's all about PERSPECTIVE and SEMANTICS.

To the General and field commander, the critical backbone of BH has been defeated (arms drugs and food supplies blockade, seizure of territory, decimation of the enemy fighting force etc.)

To the President who promised to end Boko Haram, his metric for success goes beyond defeating their military capabilities, but includes the complete stoppage of their operations including recruitment, lone wolf attacks, recovery of hostages, dismantling of propaganda machinery etc.

The President is in perfect order as he did not contradict himself.
Someone once said trying to educate wailers is like bathing a live porcupine. #IMPOSSIBLE

I base my authority on the knowledge acquired and books read on the subject matter not on some reporter who probably read mass communication. The 99 constitution still affirms the Presidential system of Government for Nigeria, that hasn't changed. the 99 constitution doesn't "confer" political powers on the ministers they are still loyal to and answerable to the President and still exercise their powers through DELEGATED LEGISLATION.

Oby Ezikwesili is CORRECT. Has she contested an election before? Do you have evidence she is a CARD CARRYING member of ANY political party?
THE TV PRESENTER IS NOT A GOVERNMENT TEACHER, I AM. I have an NCE degree In ECONOMICS and POLITICAL science. I have taught GOVERNMENT in senior secondary schools. I can say I am AN AUTHORITY in this subject matter. Take my posts, go to another Political Science professor in Nigeria to confirm it's correctness.

Learn about what you intend to speak about. The constitution mandates that for someone to be made a minister he must meet the same criteria that is mandated for a senator. He must be a member of a political party and must be well known to the political class. So PMB can not make a Perm.sec a minister.
WRONG WRONG WRONG! Where did you get this from? did you make it up? you admonished someone to first learn about what they intend to speak about while you have ABSOLUTELY ZERO knowledge on the subject matter.
In a presidential system of Government like we practice in Nigeria, the ministers are NOT POLITICIANS as they are neither elected nor contested for the post. The President is at liberty to choose his ministers from the larger public or from the political class (a politician who had been elected or contested in an election previously) or a card carrying member of ANY political party. The president is even at liberty to pick his complete ministers from the opposition in this case PDP. If he so wishes, he could pick only technocrats to make up his cabinet and choosing those technocrats as Ministers does not make them politicians. In a presidential system of government, the post of a minister maybe political, but the minister in his capacity, is NOT A POLITICIAN. This is unlike what obtains in a parliamentary/cabinet system of government as practised in Britain where the cabinet is formed from the parliament whose members are elected and are thus politicians. In this system, the Parliament wields both legislative and executive powers. In this system The ministers are politicians who are chosen from the party or coalition that wins the majority. The prime Minister is not at liberty to pick his ministers outside the parliament. Under this system, the minister in his capacity is A POLITICIAN.
PMB has the right to pick his ministers from the PDP, APC, any political parties or from the larger public. He can pick a permanent secretary as his Minister but the permanent secretary has to resign from the civil service first. In order not to negate the principle of NEUTRALITY. (read more about the principle of the Civil Service)
THESE ARE BASIC GOVERNMENT AN AVERAGE SS2 Student should know.

When push comes to shove igbos are igbos. On the one hand u are fighting Okowa becos he is igbo in Delta, rejecting Odili for Jonathan becos he was igbo now they are not igbo, are u mad?

Oh i forgot u are just a tribalist filled with envy and hate over the igbos beauty and success.
I am PROUDLY YORUBA! I HOLD MY HEAD HIGH. I STAND TALL ANYWHERE. Me envy Igbo? mo taka oshi daaanu. GOD forbid. I can't envy what is beneath me. Whether Ikwerres are Igbos, I may not know cos I am neither Igbo nor Ikwerre. There are other tribes in Rivers state aside the Ikwerres and until their leaders say they are biafrans, your losts are wasting your time. Regarding the Ijaws, your ignorant bunch should include Ondo, Ogun and Lagos state as there are Lots of Ijaws there too.
NB. it is you, your elder brothers, your father and your tribe elders that are mad people.

I take it that u both know ikwerre is an igbo word, meaning do u agree. The other half of Ikwerre local governmnet is in Imo State.

If Nigeria split today, u are asking if Rivers(Ogwuocha) is Biafra? Are u clueless? It is like asking where Ibibio and Efik belong or Ijaw. These are the major groups in Biafra. wise up!
Dumbo, Amaechi said he is Ikwerre not Igbo. I will believe you when the Governors and traditional rulers of both Akwa-ibom and Cross river state say they are biafrans. The Ijwas are not resident in a one state or even geopolitical zone. The Ijaws have a spread that covers most SS and the riverine areas of Ogun, Lagos, Eastern ondo state. If the Ijaws are one of the major tribes of "biafra" will you "land coverts" include Ondo, Ogun and Lagos in your phantom biafra?

now i understand what ths biafra talk is abt. Biafra nt only want its emigrants who speak the corrupted version of igbo and have more origin with their new origin in the course of evolvment, biafra also want to carve out oil lands of these emigrants that belong to the occupant origin states,Trust me that would neve happen, its a big joke, the only reason u hearing biafra its becos the SS felt it stood by gej. When the real struggle( SS LANDS) comes SS itself would never secced its land to igbo. And nt to forget the yoruba or hausa race even as presidents would never allow that. That may be another civil war, and i guess thats the reason igbos havent been trusted as president
You think deep, that is exactly the point I always ponder about. They want to claim the land their emigrants settle to the detriment if the original settlers or "owners" of the land. If Yoruba nation breaks away from Nigeria, do they have the right to claim Warri? just because the Itsekiris (who speak and bear Yoruba names) who are a sub group of the Yoruba claim Warri as their land. Will they carve up Kogi, Edo, Deltas states too because you find Yorubas there? Will they also carve up Benin Republic, Togo, cote d ivorie too? The issue is that we have intermingled so much through marriage and migration that so many sub groups that spring up from the main tribe is made up of "union" with other tribe(s). In the event of breakup of Nigeria, the worse that would happen is that all tribes migrate to their ancestorial lands. If the Biafrans want any land in the SS just because their people live there, their people will have to migrate back to the original 5 SE states if they even want to be known as biafrans.

In your wierdest dream you think that a meagre 290k out of over 2million registered voters came out to vote? I wonder how you guys think. As long as Rivers election was concerned majority were accredited MANUALLY! You Can't deny voters the right to vote because of one failed machine. Are you not aware that card reader only captured 300k voters in Kano but Buhari got 1.9million votes? Pleas I'm not interested in unnecessary argument. Wait 4 the Judges' verdict! However, I assure you that this is exercise in futility
There was so much violence and thuggery, that account for the low turnout. Why is it only in SS (Rivers state in particular) that the machine did not work. It worked very fine here on Lagos. I was accredited in less than 30 seconds. About Kano, that was the Presidential election in which manual accreditation was allowed and was even used in the same Rivers state. This tribunal is about the the GUBERNATORIAL election in Rivers State, not the PRESIDENTIAL and manual accreditation was not allowed in this election by INEC. INEC which is the umpire in this election has given us the OFFICIAL accredited figure which is at variance with the results announced, and by that I stand, not on your cooked up and unsubstantiated "manual accreditation (which was not even officially allowed) story. It is because of days like this that INEC put these checks in place.
You can delude your fellow wailers (who only love to hear only what is SWEET to their ears) not someone like me.
Politics › Re: Rivers Tribunal: How Area Commander Supervised Ballot Thumb-printing –Police by jaymichael(m): 10:04am On Sep 16, 2015
TonyeBarcanista:
That the card reader captured 290k voters doesn't translate to ONLY '290k' voters were accredited. I'm well aware that majority of electorates voted without card reader due to mal-function of the reader. There is NO section within the Electoral act that nullifies voting without the reader. The petitioners are yet to prove their allegation of electoral malpractice. It will boil down to forensic analysis and checks whether the votes were inflated or not. IF inflated, the tribunal will CANCEL the identified inflated votes and examine whether a re-run in the affected areas will be able to affect the result. I make BOLD to state that the APC petition is DEAD on arrival and an exercise in futility
You will have to remember that manual accreditation was not allowed for the gubernatorial election unlike what obtained in the Presidential election. The 290k represented both SUCCESSFUL and FAILED accreditation. Even if your accreditation wasn't successful and the incidence form opened for you, the card reader would have captured you and recorded that your accreditation was incomplete and same recorded in INEC database and you would be among those 290k. INEC did not permit accreditation without first going through the machine. The implication of this is that only 290k voters came out and accredited to vote. The total votes should not in anyway be more than the number of people accredited(290k+)

There is a greater chance for hell to freeze over than for this policy to work effectively. Stakeholders in the logistics and maritime sector know this. Even the Governor knows this. Another alternative is that the economy shut down. Funny, the government is starring directly at an effective solution to the problem, they instead chose to look at the problem from the wrong perspective.
