FOLYKAZE: Actually, we have our medicine struggling to beat down modern drugs. I once meet a friend who is a plant scientist. He did a research work in the lab on herbal medicine made by illiterate Agbo seller. From his work, he concluded there are chemicals that are potent enough to cure a specify disease. How do you think this so called illiterates, uncivilized and superstitious folks get to know this medicine? Garri and limewater cures malaria. . . .this was directed to me by my dad. . . .do you think I even know what chemicals contain in garri and limewater are? Likewise my dad, those in the villa that have this knowledge and those old mama that never in their live have not stepped at school door. . . .yet they know how to add different leaves, herbs, fruits, process of preparation, time and method of application of medicines which work fine on different disease, ailment and sickness. This shows that there is depot of knowledge in this society when actually, this is one of the little skills the public enjoy. Larger part of it is saved among the AwoHow do you think goats and other herbivores without the advantage of literacy or even informal teachings know which plants are edible and which plants are poisonous? Who taught man to make eba? |
wiegraf: Hmm, what of Anini?Lawrence? |
joywendy: @jayriginal i was able to download the software, it's working perfectly well. Thanks so much.My pleasure. chessguru: i got the software too but how do you install?? thanksIts a compressed file. You unzip/unrar it and run it. Did you follow the download instructions I gave to Joy? If you did you wont have any problems with running it. |
Go Team Nigeria. Too bad Dr Omoifo couldnt make it. |
PastorOluT: Why in d world didn't he shoot his leg or arm, smh for people testing the potency of bullet proof charms? Its called faith. |
malvisguy212: God breath his spirit into adam and he became a living soul, but when satan deceive man, man lost everytin, the reason JESUS was born of the spirit of God is because man need to adopt the nature of Godliness, and all other prophet were born of a sinful nature SO WE NEED JESUS.Oga you have not answered me. Im asking why Jesus had to come into existence through a half biological and half miraculous process. |
jayriginal: Why could he not be fashioned from mud the way Adam was? Why should the process of his coming into existence be half biological, half miraculous? frosbel: The MYTH of half-god and half-man is simply a tale of legend and was borrowed from Pagans with the even more dubious and intentional manipulation of scriptural text to support this LIE.Cant be frosbel. Cant be the fire breathing, Israel loving, muslim fighting, atheist hating frosbel. Same frosbel who said atheists have no souls and can be killed like mosquitoes? Denying the virgin birth? A critical article of faith? Denying hell? Whats next? I asked you to take it on faith but you wont listen. Ok, let me give you another chance. A certain religion believes in Jesus. That religion believes that the laws of God are perfect. In short, Joseph stuck his wood(en) boner (you know how carpenters do) in Mary and they birthed Jesus. Its still a virgin birth because according to them, the spirit in Jesus was a fresh spirit (the religion believes in reincarnation) and had no karma to work off (hence without sin). Kinda makes sense. What say ye? |

jitmas: so as a pure novice now, what do you suggest i start with?Well first thing first, own your guitar. I'll assume you do. Next, there was a thread on guitar, I laid out what I felt was a basic course for guitar beginners. The nairaland crash wiped the thread all out. Its too bad because I used that post as a sort of library for my students. You would have benefited from that thread because there were a lot of enthusiasts contributing. That being said, you must brush up on basic music theory. Chord scale relationships and spelling. Circle/Cycle of fifths and what not. In my spare time I will try to post some lessons here as I did on the other thread. Lets hope NL doesnt crash again. |
rationalmind: Greetings of the great FSM be unto youRamen |
youngestfool: My guy you are right,Bro What in the world is your submission. Are they or are they not children of God? |
jitmas: i've been learning to play a regular guitar for some months now, playing scales is not fast as i wanted.. Any idea how to improve this?Im flattered but teaching requires personal contact. The best I can probably do is give tips and directions. You will have to do most of the work on your own. About playing scales and speed, well that comes with time. You have to practice slowly making sure your notes are clean and then gradually increase speed. It helps if you use a metronome start with a low BPM (beats per minute) and gradually increase the tempo. But then again speed is not the most important thing. Developing melodic intuition is the ultimate. You dont want to be playing scales at blistering speed like a machine. |
On "kanoko" ghostofsparta: My point is, you atheists here on Nairaland have my admiration. And just like I was once like you anti-theism...I have long seen and witness what it takes to convince an unbeliever of African capacity to effect the supernatural, hence reason to believe there is God. But not the Abrahamic one, but the Yoruban which is the same as that of the Igbos and other native Africans. For spaghetti monster sake, we are not Jews or Arabs, so why should we subscribe to the middle eastern belief system wherein people from such origin (Sam Harris) denounces it. We are blacks. We are superior. We have more than nuclear power. We have ultimate technology. But many don't know. And those who know are not given support or a continually ridiculed. Those who still possess some of these esoteric knowledge are not enlightened and uninformed that the world need to see what we've got down here, it's high time the world stop looking down on us. I have seen a superscientist engaged someone writhing in pain after managing to jump-escape out of an accident whose hands to arm is bloodied and bruised. The Babalawo cursed (se ekpe fun) the wounds to heal back and it began so, instantly and immidiately. These and several others are what still gives me hope that one day, we blax are going to be respected before the world. And that's why I expect you Nairaland aheists to ignore these hardened religionists whose pastors or afas might have been decieved with bedazzling feats not knowing the source of such of energy (if not trick) is still from native powers. I am aware you nairaland atheists need evidential proof for the supernatural, Haba! there are so many such that I even shed tears almost everyday knowing that these things exists amongst our village folks and yet the whites think its not possible to vanish/invisible when you are not Nomad in Crysis, and that's it delusion to believe one can stop bullets when you are not the man of steel or walk on water. In the village where I am, one of the pal I befriended told me someone walked on their river, and I said 'gbagbe ko possible jo' (forget it's not possible) unless he used some sort of plexi-glass and y'all know what he told me? he said the guy whom he saw did it never attended primary school talkless of knowing about any science or technology called 'plexiglass'. I need not to believe him because I have seen other feats too myself. Yesterday in my quest to know, some folks who have always misunderstand me as one of yoU guys who say 'kosogun' (nothing like charm/juju/jazz) almost tried to harm me when he went inside to bring several offensive YAS, because they have been telling me not to quote you guys again instead I should go bring or invite anyone of you to confirm with your eyes. So I'm using this opportunity to invite any of you now or bunch of tou can even cone together with HD cameras. And after you have seen and believe, then we can focus on how to properly plot a way on how to tehnologize them into a modern society. Kanoko for instance can be an alternative to motor vehicle since it shortens long distance, so those who are late for work or appointment can just press a button and it does it trick. Egbe in its many versions can be used to teleport death-bound passengers in a soon-to-crash airplane or accidenting bus to a safe spot. I have so many ideas of how ABP(African bullet proofs) and many other Yoruba Advanced Sciences can be adapted to modern use. It's very unfortunate of the kind of government we have in Nigeria and Yorubaland, otherwise these are areas heavy researches should be funded to. Not sport and pilgrimage. I have stopped trying to convince my black Christians and Muslims Yorubas to see that our native belief system is far better and much more provable than what we have been indoctrinated with but it has only fetch me disdain and labels, few time almost violence. So it's up to you Nairaland atheists to rechannel your energy towards how can we.....and not who do we argue or sharpen our intellect with. They have been brainwashed and its not easy to be re fine tune back. ghostofsparta: Furthermore, travelling through time which is clearly different from the 'time-hopping' scenarios painted above is very possible because not only have I confirmed it several times, it's also modifiable and guess what..the knowledge of it is gleaned from an aspect of the Yoruban Ifa called isegun or Yoruba Advanced Sciences. Travelling through time is what KANOKO does when used by shortening the distances meant to be traversed naturally. If you use it, say you want to be in Ikorodu quickly while you are in Apapa, all you just need do is to contactivate it while already been attached on you and you begin to move by walking as usual and you will realise as you trek on, you somehow find yourself getting past places that normally if you could sprint like a cheetah wouldn't have reached untill you get to the destination inputed on the YAS when you contactivated it. In my study so far, the wonderfull KANOKO has no repercussion but do have a consequence of relapsing the user to walk those skipped distance during sleep which when woken willl be exasperated and weak, nonetheless I am still trying to meet a very deep old woman whom I'm informed has a version that doesn't feature this consequential limitation and that could also enable one apply it from here to anywhere in the world. I know this sounds ridiculous but I and others have used the normal KANOKO and yes I sweat it out. Truly our ancestors were great to have had superscientists (Oniseguns and Babalawos) among them who figured it out because they constantly commmune with nature. If you or anyone is interested to know, ask and I will tell how I think the science of KANOKO works.Sounds like induced sleepwalking to me! |

FOLYKAZE: No success yet due to some condition he understand only.Ok. |
omonuan: These types of voodoo like other types are for dummies. The native doctor can never lose because these types of voodoo can only be verified if true. If you are shot and you manage to survive regardless of the reasons why you survive, the native doctor takes credit. The only other alternative is that the dummy suffers a fatal wound as in this case and he can't challenge the voodoo man because he is dead. Either way the voodoo man wins. In summary: tail he wins and head dummy loses.I quite agree with your submissions. I have made same or similar on previous occasions when this same issue cropped up. I have been to a shooting range and so I know the role marksmanship plays and how difficult it is to hit a target even one as big as a human being from as little as a few meters away. Most times these wannabe gangsters/cultists and what not just carry guns and shoot. No training whatsoever. Some of them hold the gun sideways sef. How the hell will they hit their targets then? This is coupled with the fact that often the target is trying to escape. So, poor marksmanship and a moving target equals african bullet proof. Awesome! Its no wonder that the choice of weapons for these people is a cut to size (to compensate for poor marksmanship) which then leads to the proliferation of stray bullets. Many years ago, I read in the papers that Fela once obtained one of these so called bullet proof charms. He wore the amulet and asked to be shot to test it. It was Beko that noticed and pleaded with him to put it on a goat and shoot the goat instead. The goat died. The article I was reading was on Beko or Fela. Im not sure which one but the story was mentioned in passing. |
jitmas: Does anybody here know where i can buy a left-handed acoustic guitar in Nigeria? Urgently needed. Two things you can do. 1 Learn to play right handed 2 Buy a normal guitar and reverse the strings. If I were you, Id go for the first option. Its not as difficult as you think. Im left handed and I play the regular guitar. BB King is left handed and he plays the regular guitar. There are a number of left handed players who didnt bother going through the stress. The reason the first option is better is because if you use a left handed guitar, most lessons (and players) use the normal one and then you'd be seeing things upside down. You'd have to look for special books/lessons etc specifically for left hand guitar. Might be a pain in the old kazoo. |
FOLYKAZE: Ghostofsparta once asked a question. He said, would yyou as a teacher pour acid on your student to test acid potency?Mazaje comes to Nigeria quite often and indicated interest in testing with a goat or some other live animal. How far did you guys go with that? |
youngestfool: My guy original Juju dey oooooSo what happened in this case? |
Hi joywendy Please see here https://sites.google.com/site/fredm/ Go to the bottom of the page and look for guesstheMoveV3.17.zip Dont click on it. Instead, go look to the far end of the line by the right. You will see an arrow pointing downwards. Click on that little arrow to download. Let me know how it goes. |
An apprentice bricklayer, identified as Rasheed Sulaiman, was shot dead while testing the potency of a bullet-proof charm given to him by a herbalist in Asipa community, Osun State. According to a resident, Sulaiman, on Saturday called his cousin, Siji, to follow him to a secluded place to test the charm. It was learnt that Sulaiman had wore the amulet and gave a gun to his cousin to fire at him. The cousin fired the shot and killed Sulaiman instantly, according to reports from Punch. Residents were unaware of the mission of duo, but the sound of a gunshot was said to have attracted attention of the people of the area to where the incident happened. Ads by save netAd Options Siji was said to be found weeping beside the body of the deceased. Siji reportedly explained that the deceased compelled him to shoot at him to test the potency of an amulet. It was gathered that the deceased, who was known to be a tough guy, could be preparing to use the charm for the governorship election in the state. The incident was said to have triggered panic among the elders of the community who believed that some other youths might have similar charms. Goshen360: Because the seed of man, first Adam is corrupted. If Joseph has contributed, human race is still in a mess just like first Adam. Christ was called 2nd Adam, not because he was produced by first Adam or carry the corruptible nature but because he came to UNDO what was done by the first Adam. Why could he not be fashioned from mud the way Adam was? Why should the process of his coming into existence be half biological, half miraculous? The same God that fashioned humanity from mud and bone forgot his old parlour tricks? I mean something smells really bad here! |
Hi. Please does anyone know what it will cost to replace the airbag of a toyota Rav4 2005 model? The airbag on the left to be specific. Thanks. |
frosbel: I will respond to all your feedback and thank you very much. The spirit of God did. Take it on faith. |
frosbel: Not at all, I am returning to the true faith. Then take it on faith as davidylan does. |
joywendy: Mmm....both we both know that he didn't play that move , it's was just a probability. He saw it coming and he probably thought that he could distract you by playing his pawn to e4 but he was wrong to underestimate the great jayYes, Rybka does agree with you ![]() |
joywendy: @jayriginal thanks so much,i would download it.My pleasure. That your third game:on your 13th move, moving to g1 or e2 wouldn't have worked either you would have lost a piece anyway. I think you meant h4 not f4, h4 was probably the best but you have lost your knight in the process.Actually its my fault for the confusion. I put the annotation in the wrong place. It ought to have come after my 14th move, (Nd2). What I meant was that instead of playing 14 Nd2, I ought to have played 14 Ng1 with the intention of maneuvering the knight to the hole on f4. My suggestionMy taking the knight was a tactical nuance. I didnt even hesitate. Immediately he played 11 ... e5 I took the knight. Thats because the move 11... e5 loses a pawn. If he recaptures with his knight, I take the pawn on e5 with my knight. If he recaptures with his g pawn, he destroys his kingside pawn structure. Even Rybka agrees with me that the best move after 11... e5 is 12 Bxf6. Anyways nice gameThanks

InesQor: Okay.Sounds good. I use an android as well. Amazing apps! One caveat though is that when using the chess.com mobile app you can't invite a friend to a game, or join in the online tournaments. You can only accept a friend's invitation to play, or play random people of varying strengths within the ratings you specify. Now that doesnt sound so good. Ill join the train soon though. Have memory issues that I need to sort out first. |
BraveGuy: Lastly, you reminded me of a man in our contemporary world, Ahmed Deedat. He was brash and arrogant, he boasted against God and poked fun like a flood. His day came. In his 1985 debate with Dr. Anis Shorrosh, he prayed and asked God to mute whoever is mistaken and lying.Took 11 years to pull off something that happens by natural causes? Really? |
