ibkayee: Lol low self esteem and self hate largely fuelled by Eurocentric standards that deem dark skin unattractive pushed by the media, the black community definitely have their issues but in this case when you're on the receiving end of any type of discrimination I wouldn't blame anyone for being 'weak' "being 'weak'" meaning not fit/strong enough to survive/live, and so must die? |
Fashion › Re: Lady Who Started Bleaching At 19 But Has Stopped Bleaching Speaks (Photos) by JazzMode: 7:17pm On Oct 26, 2017 |
musicwriter: Yes, low self esteem. They bleach because they're not proud of their black skin. Ultimately, they bleach because they want to be closer to white people.
If white people looked black and ruled the world, they'll want to have dark skin. Its a psychological problem and has nothing to do with beauty. |

nzeobi: why people change their skin colour without changing their character and their inner self still baffles me. anyway i cant trust or date any person that can deny his true self Strong points there. Still baffling is why many of our girls swore to make the very expensive mistakes first, before then wanting to withdraw when it already too late, which goes to reveal serious inferiority complex issues and lack of self confidence. It makes them look dumb how they choose to deny their originality only to later realize there was no better alternative to being natural at the end of the day. |

VoltageDivida: I am proud of the way you are proud of your roots. Wish I could be that proud of Nigeria.
Btw,
My major problem right now is that my school has refused to mobilize me for service this year.
Kucha God is watching you It's only sensible to be proud of your roots. It's rather unfortunate we back home don't even know what we have, let alone know we should value it. The white will never give a damn how much we are struggling to dump our identity and be like them oyibos which makes us more kind of worthless in their eyes, and irritates them. |

RIP to her True that hard feelings are real when you think of instances where our soldiers have shown uncontrolled, unnecessary, excessive use of force in dealing with issues, even wasting innocent lives. But there is no clue here to show she was one of those who perpetrated such kinds of act. I think we should just let sleeping dogs lie. |

Celebrities › Re: Comedian AY Makes It To CNN, Reveals How He Made It To Guinness Book Of Record by JazzMode: 8:38pm On Oct 21, 2017 |
ivolt: I got your point but I just the think that the genre of a movie doesn't make it a thrash. Even if all the movies produced by Nollyhood is comedy, each movie would have to be rated based on its content and not the category it belonged to.
Capitalism is at work here, if those movies are unwanted by consumers and are not profitable, producers will stop making them. I personally don't watch any movie or show whose main appeal is the comedy. But I recognize that a large segment of Nigerian society wants these movies because they derive some values from them. Even movies with serious plotlines almost always include a humorous character.
I am not suggesting that the industry cannot do better but since the primary aim of making movies is to make a profit through entertainment, it is totally a justifiable action for a producer to give an audience what they want. Well said. The market determines what comes to it, else you go broke. |
