Ode, the 8MW plant guarantees uninterrupted powers supplies to hospitals, schools, roads, bridges and state institutions.

How many hospitals or any structure in Akwa Ibom gets uninterrupted power supply or even any in Nigeria? Oh, I forgot the incompetent clown and crook the not build any hospital so no hospital to power 24/7....

You clowns just blab 8MW all over the place with zero understanding per their strategic and specific importance and use..

Losers...
fool, 8mw generator for 20million people of what use is that? thats the kind of infrastructure that APC is providing Useless set of people.!

1. This is how you ignorant people fail WAEC. The thread remains about Akpabio. Only unintelligent people with lack of anything sensible to contribute leaves topic to latch on to irrelevant nonsense..

2. If you are going to defend the crook, at least list the so called world class projects? Are they hospitals that he didn't build, are they schools that he didn't build or one football field = world class projects..

3. You mind telling us why he ported his own family to Lagos/APC state instead of keeping them in his transformed world class infrastructure Akwa Ibom?

Please keep quiet...
Go and find a job, Being an internet goon for APC is not sustainable. On pg 2 of this thread, Lagos owes the highest debt in the country, what have they done with the debt? finance tinubu medical treatment abroad and commission 8MW power plant for the so claimed "20 million people". Fashola is the bigger fraud! you wont see that because you are paid to post. Yeye dey smell.

That is the most illogical theory ever!

Crude is a finite resource and Saudi Arabia has since past peak oil meaning that it is all down hill from here.

The Saudis will be daft to flood the market with their dwindling stock in order to get the US to stop development on shale oil?

Haba!

I thought you were smarter than this.

Your theory reminds me of what transpired in the refugee camps of Rwanda during the genocides.

It happened that over 800,000 people had converged in Burundi from Rwanda fleeing the genocide.

The locals saw a need for firewood which they sold to the displaced people. The Red cross and UN representatives saw an impending ecological disaster in the making from the deforestation due to firewood market. The UN then provided straw fuel to the refugees. The refugees still bought firewood because it was easier to get than waiting on a long line. Rather than the firewood merchants to further cut supply in order to force the price up, they flooded the camps with more and more firewood that it became far cheaper than the subsidized straw fuels that were supplied by the UN.

This is the only rare case of such and economists till this day are baffled by the antics of the Burundi firewood merchants
Since you are dealing in conspiracy theories, and not on reason or fact.I decided to give you one conspiracy theory that is more believable than your own.

Stop distracting with other people, the topic is about Akpabio and the people you listed are not public officials today and not even the governors of spent broke Akwa Ibom. Start your own thread about the people you listed and have a good time discussing them.
The topic is about APC trying to rubbish A star gov. Akpabio, fools like you should be ashamed of yourself. Thank you Akpabio for helping to move Nigeria and west Africa Forward by delivering world class infrastructures while APC are nothing but rumor mongers Blackmailers and propagandist.
PoliticsRe: Oil Slump: Another American Destabilization Ploy by jazzydee: 3:25am On Nov 13, 2014
Now here is a more plausible conspiracy theory: The saudi Arabia are the ones forcing the oil price to drop, by lowering their price and supplying more crude to the market forcing the price down. their goal is to truncate the gains that the USA has made in Shale production and increase crude production. This will destroy USA production gains and force them to return to the status quo of dependence on OPEC(saudi Arabia).

Increase crude production in the USA is a threat to OPEC(Saudi Arabia) including Nigeria

Nice, Akpabio is taking Akwa Ibom places, Last time i was at getty museum in LA, the pictures of Nigeria i saw there was an embarrasment, mostly civil wars, slums and dirty streets with dirty half dressed kids smiling for the cameras.
It would be great to see one inspiring image of Nigeria. Thank you Akpabio I might just go the getty this weekend hopefully the stadium picture is on display.

My friend, crude is not just used to pump gas. Look around you wherever you are can you imagine a world without petroleum derived products?

Everything from fertilizers, resins, chemicals, plastics, electronics etc make use of crude derivatives.

If crude is expensive so will does products as well.

Stop looking at crude solely as fuel. See it for its numerous production application as a resource.

Why you think china can't get enough crude?
I think this issue is beyond your ken, if you fail to see the point i raised then there is no point responding to you. Low oil price in the market is not a one way street, It will affect every one OPEC,Russia and USA.

If the USA wanted to take Russia down at all cost inclusing their own economy through this method as your theory suggest then a much better way would be to fire a nucler missile at russia and then they would be mutual distruction, and you and i know that uncle sam is more subtle than that.
The US no matter the stakes will never go against their economic interest. A sustained low price of crude oil has enormous negative impact in the US economy as much as in Russian Economy.
PoliticsRe: Oil Slump: Another American Destabilization Ploy by jazzydee: 2:46am On Nov 13, 2014
WombRaiders:
Low oil price is far better to the US economy than higher pricing because on the long run it will lead to an increase in trade deficits being that the US hardly manufactures anything since outsourcing to China.

You also fail to realize that shale drilling is not the issue but extraction of crude from shale through refining is the hindering factor.
You dont get the overall picture, your premise is very wrong, Low oil price can never be a useful tool in the hands of the American govt.to distabilize russia, there are better economic strategies which are already inplay like clamping down on banking transfers and payment systems which the American control and hold it in proxy to the world. Thats a better strategy and its working. stop this conspiracy theories.
PoliticsRe: Oil Slump: Another American Destabilization Ploy by jazzydee: 2:35am On Nov 13, 2014
@OP what you do not understand is that a low oil price affects the USA as much as it affects OPEC.

While low oil price in the market reduces the revenue accurable to OPEC, it will have a much bigger impact on the US oil production: Shale oil was only economical because of the high price of oil in the market since shale oil production is a very expensive technology far more expensive than the conventional methods used by OPEC, a low price of oil in the market threatens the boom in shale oil in the USA. If this is sustained over a long time shale oil production will grind to a halt as it will no longer be profitable, at present many fields that were earmarked for shale production projects has been abandoned because of the low market price of oil. This might mitigate against the gains that USA has made towards energy independence. USA might start importing large qty of oil from OPEC(Nigeria) again if this low price continues.

Lower price of oil is not goodnews to the American govt. and its energy future and outlook, it might be good for the masses as the pump price may come down!
And also dont forget that 70% of the oil majors are located in USA and quoted in the US stock exchange low profits/gains in this oil majors has direct impact in the US economy.

Nigeria's friends
1) Benin Republic.
2). Southern English speaking Camerooun.
3) Equatorial Guinea.
4) Liberia
5).Sao Tome And Principe
6). Ivory coast
7). others

Nigeria's Enemies:
1). South Africa
2). Ghana
3).Zimbabwe

Recommendations

South Africa:Nigeria need to redefine its business relationship with that country to teach them some sense, MTN, protea,DSTv, shoprite and all other south African business in Nigeria need to have their operational contract in Nigeria reviewed in line with their animosity towards Nigeria. An all out economic war with South Africa is imminent, After all they stand to lose more from strained business relationship with Nigeria, since we are the #1 destination for their busineses.
However, we need to be careful not to strain relationship with their sweet women, Whom we Nigerians truely love. Infact these sweet mamas are the only buffer that has been saving ZA from the wrath of Nigeria

Ghana: We need to give them the russian treatment by cutting gas supply to that feeding bottle nation, Nigerian banks operating in Ghana needs to squeeze liquidity and credit to Ghana and thereby further tighten the financial noose around that broke ass country.

Zimbabwe: We all wish them Mugabe and wife as president for the next 20 yrs, to make them more mumufied than they are now.
grin grin grin grin grin grin grin grin grin grin very true! do you live in southie? Those SA women na something else.

I don't think this dude means any harm. People's experiences can be different, All he needs is to reassure him that things have changed and they are still changing. The Abakaliki - Enugu highway you are talking of is a smooth ride now.
The idea of planting trees and lawn will go a long way but the government is not aggressive about it. Individuals input is also needed, as government cannot do lawn in and around your house, tho' government can, with necessary laws, mandate developers to either pave there surroundings with cement/inter lock or do lawn.
Thank you @ centje, I know why they are threatened they think i am one of those posters that is out to pull down their darling gov. Chime, on the contrary i like what the governor is doing, i think discounting his pettiness he has contributed more to the physical infrastructure of Enugu than all his predecessors. All am saying is that more attention should be paid to the landscaping of the environment. it doesn't have to be paving alone cheap methods like tree planting, and grass planting can be employed to cover the dust in usable space around Enugu that will make Enugu better than it is now.

I am not based in Nigeria, i Haven't been in Ngeria in 3 yrs and enugu in 5yrs last i came i didn't make it up there, Nairaland and other social media is my means of getting in touch with development back home, and believe me i have read through most threads on nairaland like this enugu thread from pg 1 to the last and i have my favorite like spyder etc who take real live images of the happenings in the state. some of the posters on this thread don't get it they cant fathom constructive criticism that's why they turn combative and emotional when confronted with facts which they themselves are generating about enugu. I just hope that that those with that attitude are old men and women who are set in their ways and resistant to change, But if they are youth then Enugu and Nigeria is in trouble. because this guys are deliberately unwilling to see beyond their noses. I will revert to my earlier role as an observer and not a contributor, i hope things change for the better in Enugu. I will rest my case on the issue, I have made the points that were bothering me.

I like responding to you because i think you always speak from your heart without malicious hidden agenda of hatred the others have for SE and hiding under the guise of "red sand" to express their hatred and jealousy.

I did visit a city called Savannah in Georgia,USA last year. My younger sister living there made the exact statement that "if this beautiful city didn't have grass and trees all over, it would have been another Abakaliki" Yet the city is so so beautiful, you have to see it for yourself! Needless to say Atlanta itself have "red soil" too grin grin grin

I remember in the early 1990s, going to AI (Abakaliki to buy yams and rice, if you took okada to the rice mills, you were covered in brown dust because none of the streets were tarred then. Go to Abakaliki now, and tell me if you will have a speck of dust, All the streets have been tarred!!!

Nnewi and Uyo also had problems with dust in the 1990s as was with Abuja!
All these Nigerian cities have vastly improved since then! Now, for someone to strangely cling to that image and continue posting as if red soil were some type of disaster or ebola!
Abagworo even posted somewhere that "Red soil" isn't something to be toyed with" As if it were some poisonous nuclear waste associated with the color of the soil in SE Nigeria! That is the primary reason i posted the pictures of leading cities in the world with "Red" soil. There is nothing wrong with the soil color so long as you grass open spaces as they do in America and other advanced countries with "Red soil"
You Are intellectually dishonest on page 282 of this thread you posted images of streets lined with palms and street light that a quick google image search reveals its origin from Kigali Rwanda and the water fountain round About is in Uyo, Akwa Ibom State. Who are you trying to decieve by passing those images as if these places are in enugu?

On the issue of the red dust menace in Enugu an your lies about how it has improved, All the pictures of enugu on this thread is the evidence so i dont need to belabor the issue, as one scrolls down this thread they see the menace of red dust in enugu live in all the true images of enugu.
Wake up and smell the coffee, and stop decieving yourself. Truth is sacrosanct.

Talk about and ostrich burying its head in the sand to avoid facing the problem that stare him in the face! A few pictures of construction sites in Southern US that you guys have posted, does not justify the red dust dirt all over Enugu, I challenge you all to post pictures of the finished construction sites in those images and then you will all understand what is wrong with Enugu.

Being emotional and flying off the handle will not solve the red dust menace in Enugu, Learning what other climes with red earth have done with their situation to keep their usable space clean and liveable will help Enugu, I dont expect @cjrane,Kasyn to understand, you guys are leaving in denial, am glad that a few logical people get my point.

Now here is what the plant in Augusta looks like After construction, notice the landscaping and paving? Some of you guys can keep living in denial. But those who are not afraid to face reality about Enugu and can handle constructive criticism get my point, Adios Amigos.

You dont need to pave every where but just the useable space, and by the way landscaping with grasses, trees and flowers form the local area are also simple solutions that can be applied. the trees will also help check erosion.

Oga Spyder, thank you for that rebuttal on red soil. Bishop thank you too for posting that picture if USA 'red soil".

The whole South East USA including places as Georgia, North Carolina , South Carolina, Mississippi, Louisiana , Alabama and Tennessee all have 'red clay soil' exactly like in Enugu and other places in Africa. But go and see those places and tell me anywhere in Africa that is more beautiful or less dusty. We are just spoilt children whining over nothing. What if God gave us a desert?

Wonder why people keep complaining about red soil in Enugu as if living on it will make pigs fly .
Here is what i found on wikipedia:
Red clay soil is common
throughout the "Southern
United States", especially
around the Piedmont. This photo was taken in North Carolina.
So, what's all the fuss about? Does red soil makes Pigs fly?
Its easy for you to show a purported image of a bush or construction site in N. Carolina. But i have been to North carolina before, the difference between the red soil of the N.carolina and that of Enugu is that the red soils of N.Carolina is not threat to the economic functions, Ambiance and environmental aesthetics of the state as is the case in Enugu based on the pictures of enugu in this thread.
In North carolina you and your car will not turn red by commuting across the state, as you would in Enugu. They know how to pave streets, sidewalks and cover all the nusiance of the red earth with grass and vegetation to make their environment functional.

I am glad you do know that there are other places in the world with red earth, maybe the govt. of Enugu will do well to understudy those societies and learn how despite their red soil they are able to keep their environment clean and their roads devoid of red sand dust storm that is the menace in Enugu.
Stop excusing ineptitude, tree planting, grasses, landscaping and proper paving of useable spaces is needed in enugu to prevent the eyesore that is evident in all the pictures of enugu in this thread. that is not so hard to accomplish its common sense.

The red earth in enugu spoils it for me. The red earth make Enugu look dirty. I remember driving from Abakiliki to enugu and when i got there i was completly brown from all the dust i had to shower again and change my clothes before going for my appointment. that was some time ago, but it has colored my image of enugu forever, I hope they have fixed that road.

And from this pictures the red earth is a recurring theme. you never know what that red earth will do to your clothes and car until you experience it.
Am sorry enugu is not an experience i will like to repeat until I hear that they have struck a deal with dangote cement to pave all the street, sidewalks and every exposed red earth in path/roads in Enugu.

With this, the party has pitched its tent with Akpabio against others, who had opposed the resolve of the governor on the zoning formular.
