zaynie:
I'll just put this here.

When you come to an online forum to seek for advice, be ready to put a sieve on it as you will get pros and cons but at the end of the day the decision is yours.
I have been on this thread for about 5 years now and my eyes have seen! They don't call me mama zaynie for nothing.
I have seen pregnancies.. Not one, not 2, not 3 not 4 not 10 lost all because a mama took peppersoup or nkwobi or Pineapples. That list of don't eat we made, we didn't do it from sleep. We did it to help others keep their pregnancies.
I have seen newborns not one or 2 lost to jaundice and we have found a way to at least prevent or reverse it.
We have found how to treat cough in babies without using drugs. How to ease colic in babies, how to treat rashes, how to stop stooling even if it is viral!
We have a countless list of what you can give your baby even if you're as poor as a church rat and we support financially if we can confirm you're genuine.

Just because you got 'lucky' doesn't mean everyone will.
I took lots and lots of zobo in my first pregnancy and my son developed a heart defect, upon reading on it I saw zobo in early pregnancy had a hand in it. I never knew about his heart till he was almost 2 and I never would have made the link if I didn't make that research.
I took pineapple in my first pregnancy and nothing happened, I did in my second and contracted all night, my sister in law took it and had her baby the next day.
I know a ttc mom that took peppersoup earlier in pregnancy and lost her baby.
These things happen.

About giving your baby food or not, it's actually your call, it's better to increase the formula intake of that child. And yes, you can give pap, in fact at a point I was called Ogi Voltron on this thread, but let it be from 4m up. Or you increase your food intake so that breastfeeding can be smoother. So, instead of giving a 2m old light pap, ejoor eat more, produce more milk and supply that poor baby all the nutrients and fats and protein he would never get in pap.

I know it's never easy raising a child but put in mind that they never asked to be born, you decided to have unprotected sex, you chose to stay pregnant, to chose to carry that baby for 10 months. It was your choice.
So do whatever you can do in your power to provide milk for this child for at least 6m before you supplement.
Know that it gets easier, so hold on for just a little more time.

May we never lose our child.
Àmin.

Thank you for this. God bless you

Giddyperson:

In this thread you've recommend
Orange water for newborn
Coconut water for newborn
Pap for newborn
It haf do, and we should edit the thread title and rename it 'pregnant women and native doctors'.
You're missing the point that just because you gave something to your baby and he survived it doesn't mean it's now food to be recommended for babies.

@ the bolded, giving a baby that young pap is indeed abusing him and denying him all the nutrients he needs, what nutrients are in pap. Especially since the baby doesn't even have the luxury of breastmilk like your own baby did.

Good morning mamas! Please I need your advice.

This is my first pregnancy, and i’m in my early second trimester. The changes i’ve been experiencing is nothing close to what I was told.

I hope everything is fine with me. I don’t eat anymore. I hardly have appetite for anything. The only thing I can eat is Yam and palm oil. If I eat anything else, I’m throwing up within 30 minutes leaving me very weak. I can’t eat beef, chicken, turkey, goat meat, Pomo, fish, eggs(boiled or fried) or even assorted. I think I eat moi moi once in a while, and maybe bread and tea.

Any other food sends me vomiting. I thought pepper was the problem but I took pepper soup last weekend and still vomited it. I really don’t want to lose weight because of this food habit. I don’t use perfumes anymore. In the office, I don’t use the kitchen when everyone else is there, because the smell of different food sends me to the restroom.

Is everything fine with me? Are there drugs I should be taking? The only drug I take at the moment is Pregnacare. Please mamas, help me. Is this normal?

You are fine!
All na pregnancy package.
I just entered the 3rd trimester and I'm still unable to eat meat.

It is well o.

Please new mums and dads, dont swallow everything here hook line and sinker, please do your research and most importantly, if you're not sure, in fact even if you're sure, see a doctor to avoid stories that touch!

Happy weekend to all the wonderful mothers in the house.

Pls, who knows the natural things I can take to boost my blood level quickly? I want d ones that are readily available so that I won't stress myself looking for them. I've heard about the mixture of ugu leaves juice+ milk/malt and malt+tomato paste. Which of them works faster? How do I take them? How many days will I take them to see result?. Thank you all.

Eating eggs helped with my pcv. I ate it like my life depended on it.

mamatwiny:
Hello mamas,
My baby uses molfix diapers. He has been using size 5 for sometime now. I buy the gigapack at a wholesalers shop close to my office for N4100 . It is sold for N4200 or N4300 in other supermarkets.
So last week, my hubby went to next cash and carry and bought molfix pampers for baby. When it was opened, I noticed it is different from the pampers we used to buy. It is same size 5, but the drawing on the pampers is different. I noticed this pampers is more absorbent than the normal molfix I used to buy. With the other pampers, I change his Pampers at least once at night. It must be changed by 3am, latest 4am or it will be full and start leaking , making me to change my boys cloth, but with this new molfix, my baby stays dry all through the night. I only change it in the morning.

Now my question is, does it mean molfix sells a lower standard of molfix to Nigerian market?

Good afternoon mama's in the house.

Its a sad experience and somehow painful but in all, I thank my creator.

I went for a scan this morning and I was told they cannot see any heartbeat. They can see only the sac. My last scan 3 weeks ago was 7 weeks and 5 days but today it measured 6weeks and 1 day.

I want to round up some things in the office and go back to the hospital tomorrow for the next action.

I will update you as it goes.

I am so sorry for what you have gone through. It is well with you

unex50, Rbae and jazzyjazz, thanks a lot for the response.
Jazzyjazz, I'd apply the coconut oil and try it this evening.
Rbae, which shampoo are you using? I saw Johnson shampoo today and some other types and I'm confused which to get.

I used Asda Little Angel Shampoo plus conditioner then. But you can get any good brand and use

Good evening mamas in the house. We don come again ahbeg help me out. My daughter of 6weeks and 5days has somethings like dandruff in her hair. I wash the hair on Sundays only but when bathing her everyday, mum pours water on it. What can I do so they won't come out? She has a full and long hair and barbing it is not an option at all as the Dad won't even agree.
NB: mum uses her bath wash to wash her hair so should I get her shampoo and conditioner? Please help me o

Sounds like cradle cap.

Here's what I did for my son back then that worked.

First, I poured enough coconut oil on his hair. You can use olive oil too. Then I covered his hair with a clean black nylon and left it for like 30mins or so. Took off the nylon and I used a small comb to gently comb out the flakes in the hair. The sides that didn't come off, I put more oil and let it soak and then I combed off again. After which I washed his hair with baby shampoo. (I usually buy the 2 in 1 shampoo, that's the one that is a shampoo and conditioner in one)

First of all breathe!!!

You'll be alright mama
Babies have a way of adapting to new environments. Trust me. Your baby will be fine.
You just need to trust the creche nannies, be sure to instruct them properly on feeding and all.
You can be going to check on your baby every now and then in the first week till you're sure she had adapted. Yours is 10 months sef, she go de alright. Some of us put our babies in creche way way earlier.

Good evening mommas. Please I sudddnly developed rashes all over my body. It’s been itching me like crazy. I went to the pharmacy but they won’t prescribe something for me. Inestead they said I should go and see a doctor first. And seeing doctors is quite pricey. Please what can I use on it. It’s really itching me. It’s all over my neck, chest, stomach and back

Rashes is quite normal in pregnancy.
I had same. Mine was worse sef.
Doctors won't prescribe anything because you're pregnant as the rashes is pregnancy induced and would disappear before or after you deliver
Most of mine has disappeared now and the itching is less.

Dusting powder can help with the itching. I use Agnesia powder.

Funny thing is my daughter has been using the red pack huggies since November last year and we’ve had no issues whatsoever. She’s never also had diaper rashes even while using other diaper brands

It's not that the diaper gives rashes. The diaper is generally bad. It doesn't absorb urine and when baby poops, it spills through the sides. I used it a few times and whenever I wore it for my son, by the time he wakes up in the morning, its saggy! If I don't change it quickly before he poops, the poo ends up in his trouser

Very expensive...bought everything for my first baby from them and I regretted later when I saw cheaper prices, especially online. I buy online from monmartt or babybliss.

A friend went to the woman in suleja and spent just a little under 150k for her baby things. It is not even up to half of what I spent at onestopbaby

Chicco Baby carrier that is sold for 7k is what they sell for 15k!!!
Nursing bra that is sold for 1500 is what they sell for 3500. Car seat of 25k is from 40k upwards there!!!
