Why are you making it look like being in Canada to work is trap and one cannot visit their home country. Don't you know that visiting your home country and returning gives you more credibility as a Foreign immigrant. If you have an active work or study permit and you can apply for TRV or if the one you have when entering is valid you can travel out of Canada and return back. Stop making it look like living in Canada as a foreign immigrant is a trap. Bruno678: Hi, As a Nigerian(your Nigerian passport is in place too): All you need is to buy a ticket. Do be aware that at port of entry, your work permit will be reviewed again ( eg pof, etc, all this questions are 50:50) and hopefully issued.Re-entry is like getting it the first time. So going is not a concern and i will advise that the reason for travelling out of canada is important, makes sense to anyone and all documents and information are intact! Thanks |

I agree with you to an extent but it is not impossible to get study visa for a course that is lower than the credential you already have. It depends on how you are able to convince the visa officer about your career projection based on your circumstance. For instance my wife was completing her Masters in IT when she got admission and study permit approval for Software Quality Assurance one year certificate program because she wanted to specialize in Software Quality Assurance and we proved this from her current job with a view to her short, mid and long term goal. So it is possible but much work is required. Jossy4love: Hello everyone, today I want to talk about the Canada visa process, specifically the study and tourist visa routes. There are many pathways to Canada, but I’ll focus on these two because they are among the most popular.
One common mistake people make is blaming agents for their visa refusals. The truth is, an agent is not a consular officer, they don’t make the final decision on your application. Their job is to guide you, help you write a strong Statement of Purpose (SOP), and advise you on the necessary documents to improve your chances. However, the information you provide plays a huge role in the outcome.
I’ll be sharing some free tips on how to get your visa approved without relying on an agent, starting with the study visa route.
Study Visa Route Before applying for a study visa, it's important to fully understand what you’re applying for. Many people make the mistake of applying for a lower-level program than their existing qualifications. For example, if you already have a bachelor’s or master’s degree in Computer Science but apply for a diploma in Computer Science, this raises red flags. The visa officer may wonder why you’re taking a step backward academically, leading to a refusal. The same applies to those with an ND (National Diploma) or HND (Higher National Diploma) who apply for a diploma in the same field, it’s unlikely to be approved.
Another major mistake is using a fake bank statement or submitting a sponsor’s bank statement without proof of relationship. Some applicants also deposit a large sum of money into their account suddenly without a proper explanation, which can be seen as an attempt to deceive the embassy.
Here’s a general guide for your financial proof:
Your starting balance should be at least ₦7 million and above. Your closing balance should be at least ₦33 million and above. Ensure proper cash inflow and outflow. A sudden lump sum deposit with no transaction history can be suspicious. Print a 6-month statement for submission. Another critical aspect is having the right supporting documents. Many people submit falsified birth certificates and other fake documents. This can get your application banned. Use either a hospital birth certificate or a National Population Commission (NPC) certificate to avoid issues.
If you’re unsure about the right documents to submit, you can check globalvisaconference.com They offer both free and paid services to help strengthen your application.
Tourist Visa Route For those applying for a tourist visa, the first thing to do is clearly define the purpose of your visit. If you don’t have an invitation from someone in Canada, it’s advisable to register for a conference to justify your travel plans. You can find registered conferences on Eventbrite or Global Visa Conference.
Here’s a general guide for your financial proof for a tourist visa:
Your opening balance should be at least ₦1.5 million. Your closing balance should be at least ₦15 million. Attending a conference is a more affordable option, but keep in mind that tourist visa approvals can take around six months, whereas study visas are often processed faster.
A lot of people use Eventbrite to register for conferences as proof of travel intent. However, Eventbrite is an open platform, meaning anyone can create and list an event. Because of this, visa officers sometimes question the authenticity of Eventbrite conferences.
Some common issues with Eventbrite conferences: ❌ Many events are not recognized internationally. ❌ Some events are created just for visa purposes, making them less credible. ❌ Visa officers may require extra proof that the conference is relevant to your profession or business.
Why Global Visa Conference is a Better Option Unlike Eventbrite, Global Visa Conference provides verified, well-structured conferences that strengthen visa applications.
✅ Recognized by visa officers – Their conferences are well-documented and registered, increasing approval chances. ✅ Visa-friendly documentation – You get a properly structured conference invitation letter that aligns with embassy expectations. ✅ Personalized guidance – If needed, they help you with additional supporting documents to prove your travel intent.
Instead of risking a visa refusal due to an unverified conference, it’s better to use a reputable platform that provides structured, embassy friendly documentation.
Applying for a Canadian visa is not just about filling out forms. It's about making sure everything aligns logically.
Choose the right study program that matches your qualifications. Provide genuine financial proof with a steady transaction history. Use a verified conference invitation for a tourist visa to avoid suspicion. Taking the right approach saves you time, money, and stress. Stay tuned for more insights in the next post!

So the work permit you have only allows you to work inside Canada, it's not a n immigration document that allow you enter Canada should you leave Canada today. To avoid been trapped outside Canada, what you need to do is to apply for multiple entry Temporary Resident Visa (TRV) in case the one you used to enter Canada for your work permit has expired or will likely expire during your return travel to Canada. davo80: Good morning guys. Please how can a Nigerian in canada under working permit (No PR yet) apply to visit Nigeria?

Hope you know it can get embarrassing if Nigeria decides to retaliate on refusal of diplomatic passport holders for targeted category of their top officials? I agree with larger part of your submission but check this links that suggest it was more of an error than a possible impersonation for such high ranking officers. https://www.premiumtimesng.com/news/top-news/774454-canadian-high-commission-reacts-to-denial-of-visa-to-nigerias-military-chiefs.htmlaffoncad: A diplomatic passport does not automatically guarantee visa approval. While it may offer certain privileges in some countries, it does not exempt the holder from visa requirements. Each country has its own regulations, and the visa process often involves thorough checks, even for diplomatic passport holders. Additionally, some Nigerian asylum applicants provide documents claiming to have served in the navy or army to obtain a visa. As a result, Canada is extra careful with visa issuance for Nigerians, as they are among the top asylum claimants in the country. |

You are not coming to stay more than 6 months so they dont need your local security police check. Their check is usually your travel records to other countries, any previous asylum claims, involvement in terrorism etc? Can Nigerian Police provide these intel? No... so police record is not needed. This is where RCMP comes to play. For Work Permit, PR, Student and others because you may be staying more than 6 months, they need additional local information from your local police but often time their analysis proves local police gives them near zero intels. auto5598: Greetings all, please how do IRCC conduct Background check for TRV ( visit Visa) when there is no provision/ request for Police certificate?? I work with a card issuance company. Reason that could lead to a chargeback in payments done via ATM card: Transaction-Related Issues 1. Unauthorized transaction: The cardholder claims they didn't authorize the transaction. 2. Incorrect amount: The transaction amount is incorrect, or the cardholder was charged multiple times. 3. Duplicate transaction: The same transaction is processed multiple times. Technical Issues 1. ATM malfunction: The ATM was faulty, and the transaction didn't complete correctly. 2. Network issues: Technical problems with the payment network or the card issuer's system. 3. Card reader issues: The card reader at the ATM or merchant's terminal malfunctioned. Card-Related Issues 1. Expired or invalid card: The card has expired or is invalid. 2. Card not present: The cardholder's physical card was not present during the transaction. 3. Cardholder's account issues: Insufficient funds, account closed, or other issues with the cardholder's account. Merchant-Related Issues 1. Merchant error: The merchant made an error processing the transaction. 2. Refund not processed: The merchant failed to process a refund. 3. Goods or services not received: The cardholder didn't receive the goods or services they paid for. Fraud-Related Issues 1. Card skimming or cloning: The card information was compromised through skimming or cloning. 2. Phishing or identity theft: The cardholder's identity was stolen, and the transaction was unauthorized. 3. Card stolen or lost: The card was stolen or lost, and the transaction was unauthorized. These are some common reasons that could lead to a chargeback. The specific reason for a chargeback will depend on the circumstances of the transaction. I suspect the fraud related here...just figure it out and make the neeccesary outstanding debt payments else you may not be able to apply and get fairness. It seems I saw your email in my box..maybe I can help you analyze your gcms note to ascertain which payment wasnt done. femie21: Good morning , please I just got refused and I need more clarification on this . Another thing you can do is have a side biz with that your savings that generates at least 1m to you per month. That will improve your financial profile by at least x3. Sometimes they wont care about your huge balance to give you a visa, they will look at what you make regularly that will not make you abscond if given opportunity. Meaning what you earn must be relatively comparable or more than what the lowest person earns over there else they would classify you a risk. Sholzyy: Thank you so much for your support. I will not apply soon since the visit is for my Christmas leave.
Like I state on my post, my 6 months salary is less than 3M and I have 29+M in my 2 accounts with I submitted both.
I also have travel history which I don’t abuse my stays. The longest I have stayed in a Schengen country is 5 days and UK is 3months and that’s because it was for study.
I really want a clarity on the statement “The applicant's current employment situation does not show that they are financially established in their country of residence”… considering that ‘they’ was used, please are they referring to my job or myself?
My husband said they are probably referring to my job since I’m the only one that applied and he doubts if the ‘they’ for used for me. Please I need clarification on this and how to address this in my next reapplication.
Thanks |

They do not go to the overstretched state medical facility you go to. They used the finest private hospital 95% of you cannot afford cos they have access to forex and to them it's even affordable and easily accessible than abroad. My sec school came back from Germany to come and do IVF with his wife. Running a decent private hospital now and getting Nigerian clients abroad is a big market.
Don't get it twisted, the fact politician goes abroad to do medical treatment is just because they have access to free govt money, culture of waste etc. if it's their hard earned money, many of them will be forced to do it here worst case the best private hospitals like St Nicholas, Lagoon etc |

I am just curious here and let's analyze it.
You guys believe the target for dependents are just for Family Open Work Permits right?
So if someone says oh yeah your kids can come to school as minor in Canada but hey they can't have the privilege for work during or after high school....what is the goal after being a student? Probably they will need to have a post secondary education to earn their pgwp right and not enjoy family open work permit.
That's practically more burden for foreign Nationals as your kids can't qualify for high school jobs like others to help them save towards their education. This is at a time people are saying cost of living is high and there are no jobs. It still boils to my earlier point that for now they are not oriented to allow the foreign immigrant population to grow. They just don't want to tell it to your face that they don't want children dependent of foreign immigrants to come school in Canada. |

You have a strong point here. zubizareta: Are you saying what you think it should be or what the law clearly states? You also forget that there are single parents that don't have spouses that would be interested in taking their kids along or intl students that their spouses aren't even interested in going to Canada. In those cases, the intl student travel with the kids.
The current revised policy is clear, dependent kids eligible for school still get to travel and study in Canada. |

We all know that the international student Open Work Permit mobility program is what international students use in bringing their spouses and dependent children or minor to Canada. Int'l students' status give room for OWP qualification and then dependent children. Can you apply for dependent children study alone without linking it to a parent who holds/will hold an Intl Student visa or an OWP via the mobility program? There lies the answer, just take the OWP (head) away and dependent (study visa) is cut off. Intl Student brings FDI so it is economically viable to avoid recession. The whole idea is Canada wants to reduce foreign immigration population to barely 5% due to social infrastructure which they say is currently overstretched. They can only accommodate spouse with in-demand skills as trade-off to allowing that foreign population number because it comes as a win-win not dependents. They know foreign dependents takes toll on schools, healthcare, housing and these are the things they want to reduce. It all pure National Immigration Policy to preserve their social infrastructure. Look at the policy with the big picture (goals and objectives). Predator188: Yes you are correct owp. |

To get sowp with pgwp or study/visit pernit for dependent kinds will be difficult now with the new policy. Predator188: The children may receive a hit on pgwp application as dependents. The rules is somehow for foreign workers. Applying for pgwp without teer 0, 1, 2 and 3 jobs in labour shortage occupation, the spouse will not be eligible for OWP. |

I quite agree with you. The PoF requirements for sowp is intentionally not defined in the ircc for best reason known to them. It makes VO have the ability to deny or approve with discretion. Like you said discretion matters but consider if it's the same account you have declared for your spouse education and living expenses then the VO will automatically allocate a huge part of your fund for that student spouse before allocating to you. That's how I was denied with about 7500 CAD PoF with proven employment source. Checks from WhatsApp meta (AI): "IRCC GCMS notes refusal due to debts to the crown means that your application was rejected because you have outstanding debts to the Canadian government, also known as "debts to the crown." This can include unpaid taxes, student loans, or other government debts ¹. When a visa application is refused, IRCC typically provides a generic refusal letter that doesn't fully explain the reasons for the refusal. However, the GCMS notes contain more detailed information about the refusal, including the specific reasons why the application was rejected ². In this case, the GCMS notes indicate that the refusal was due to outstanding debts to the crown. This means that you will need to address these debts before reapplying for a visa. It's essential to obtain the GCMS notes to understand the specific reasons for the refusal and to take corrective action ³. To resolve this issue, you may need to: - Pay off outstanding debts: Contact the relevant government department to arrange payment of your outstanding debts. - Provide proof of payment: Once you've paid off your debts, provide proof of payment to IRCC. - Reapply for a visa: After addressing your debts, you can reapply for a visa, ensuring that you provide all required documentation and meet the eligibility criteria. Keep in mind that reapplying for a visa doesn't guarantee approval. It's crucial to carefully review your application and ensure that you've addressed all concerns raised by IRCC". My conclusion: Did you use an agent in the application? He or she may have used an unauthorized ATM card that required charge back (IRCC returning the money used to pay for the application fee) which makes you an automatic debtor of an outstanding Visa Application. Some other persons can give more context. Cease: Please, guys, I have a question I applied for a visit visa for my elder sister to come and see me right here, but it has been denied twice.
