Thanks, a lot has changed recently then with the intro of PAL. Thanks.

affoncad:
I believe you are an educated individual who can read and write. You don’t need a YouTuber looking for followers to interpret a simple instruction for you, especially since most of them are not immigration lawyers. You can apply for a student visa from within Canada on a visitor visa. You simply select 'No' to those conditions, and it allows you to apply from inside Canada. I have seen someone apply and get approved, and another get rejected, with the rejected applicant regretting it because they ended up spending much more than if they had applied from outside Canada. So personally, I don’t encourage it, as not all applications are approved. However, as of today, you can apply for a student visa while in Canada on a visitor visa if you have your Letter of Enrollment (LOE), (PAL), and proof of funds (POF), though approval is not guaranteed!!

I think the second you circle red, is after any of the first condition above has been met e.g having a spouse who has work or study permits, completion of a prerequisite course for a full-time DLI etc. Chokor Millonaire has even done a youtube video on it. Countries used it to control student immigration to their countries just like Canada's LMIA work permit application that is now mandatory to be from outside country. Some countries do not even allow you to convert your visit visa to a study visa, you have to apply from outside country. You can even try applying through the link asa a tes, you will see if any of the condition above does not apply it will tell you...you dont qualify for a study permit from in-country. You can practicalize the process as a test.

The person involved can consult more maybe an immigration consultant cos its really tiring going through this application ONLY to find out you didn't meet the conditions.
TravelRe: Canada Visit/tourist Visa Discussion. by Jeboy(m): 10:41pm On Oct 27, 2024
I used to think the condition is same until recently. Canadian immigration law encourages intending Intl students who wish to apply for Study Permit to apply from outside Canada except they meet certain requirements/conditions aside the regular requirement of the general study permit application. See link and attachment below.

https://www.canada.ca/en/immigration-refugees-citizenship/services/study-canada/study-permit/apply.html

affoncad:
Yes, if you receive an Invitation to Apply (ITA) for permanent residency under Express Entry while in Canada on a visitor visa, you can complete the application process from within Canada without needing to return to Nigeria. Once you receive the ITA, follow the necessary steps, submit your documents, and proceed with your PR application. However, you must avoid overstaying your visitor visa unless you apply for an extension.

As for studying in Canada, applying for a study permit while in canada as a visitor visa holder, has the same requirements whether you’re applying from inside or outside Canada. You’ll need to provide a Letter of Acceptance (LOA), Proof of Funds (POF), PAL and a medical test, which can be more expensive within Canada. Also, remember there’s no guarantee of approval or rejection. When choosing a school, try to avoid institutions that don’t offer a Post-Graduation Work Permit (PGWP) to keep your options open.

Correct.

In addition, diversify by getting certified in other skills like Cook / Care giver to position yourself in the hospitality / Health industry since every African mother or woman is both a care giver and a cook by default.

uchennay:
Given the current numbers and situation, obtaining PR will be a matter of survival of the fittest, as competition is intense. Many students currently in Canada may not secure PR after investing so much money and accumulating debt. I would advise any student to start learning French as an additional skill to gain an advantage, as the path to PR has become very narrow cry

It's still not going to be an easy path for Temporary Residents. Reason they introduced measures like English Test and many province are shutting down Intl school completion route or modifying it to Only Masters or with 2 year Diploma courses in long term shortage labour.

As it is Canada is not for the faint hearted. Being a student or worker is not automatic to PR.

If you are already in Canada as Temporary Resident (Student or Worker) or will soon be joining a spouse as student or worker, then good news.

The cut down of PR will favour those already in Canada as Temporary Resident.

Canada Experience Class and Provincial Nominations for residents (in-country) will be prioritized for PR than out-country migrant.

SportsLibya Vs Nigeria: CAF President Condemns Super Eagles Inhuman Treatment by Libya by Jeboy(op):
The President of the Confederation of Africa ( CAF), Patrice Motsepe, has, for the first time, spoken on the Libya vs Nigeria, Africa Cup of Nations Cup ( AFCON) qualifier game.

Patrice Motsepe was speaking in a press conference where he condemned the situation that happened to the Super Eagles of Nigeria at the Libya airport ahead of the AFCON 2025 qualifying match.

“We should have zero tolerance. When there was this problem of the Nigerian national team in Libya, I will not comment on that because there is a proper investigation.

But I want to emphasise a principle that we will not tolerate. This is something that has been going on for quite some time. Forget about the Libya vs Nigeria situation; forget about that; appropriate action will be taken.

I have heard too many stories about a football club or national team that goes to a country. You spend hours at the airport, and they ask you about documents that don’t exist. Apparently, during COVID, they would look at the best players and then say those ten players have got COVID.

But it is this lack of sportsmanship that has existed, and we haven’t taken effective action. We are reviewing those laws, and we want to emphasise sportsmanship.”

Nigeria were scheduled to play against Libya in the return leg of the clash last week Tuesday, October 15, 2024, but opted not to play the game after they were held hostage for over 20 hours at the airport.

The team’s flight to Benghazi, where the match was supposed to take place, was diverted to the small airport away from Benghazi just as the pilot was completing his approach to the Benghazi Airport. A CAF verdict on them.

TravelRe: Canadian Student Visa Thread Part 23 by Jeboy(m): 8:37am On Oct 23, 2024
I hope your asset valuation service is affordable? Might need it during SOWP Application not now.

sternakin:
In the recent time, about 65% of refusal is coming as a result of inadequate POF or failure to explain with documented evidences the source(e) of "sudden" heavy deposit inflow into your account, then 35% based on insufficient assets/home ties.

It can be so painful that an applicant will get denied after spending so much due to unexplained source of the fund backed with proper documentation.

Often times, applicants get confused why their visa applications were denied based on "insufficient assets" or insufficient home ties" or "unexplained source of huge deposit on account " despite submitting copies of title documents on their landed assets to proof home ties or economic status (which probably do not contain the current value of such property).

Therefore, it not all about including landed property title documents only in your application, you need additional document that tells the current monetary worth of the property(ies) and would also demonstrate how those property(ies) can motivate your departure after your study or vacation and how you plan to utilise the property(ties) upon your return home. VERY IMPORTANT!!!

That vital document you need is a valuation report. Valuation report is a document prepared by a firm of registered Estate Surveyors & Valuers showing the current market value(s) in monetary worth of your landed property(ties), use of the property (either residential as owner occupied or rented for income generation, your future plan for the property etc). So, it can also be used as proof of additional source of income as the case may be or back up landed asset liquidated to raise fund on account for your study purpose (i.e source of fund). In other word, it's a multipurpose document that can boost your chance of visa approval.

So, often times, having sufficient fund might not guarantee your approval but other support documents like your property/assets valuation report could do the magic.

Valuation report is a rmean by which an applicant can show his/her socio-economic status in the home country and proof of strong home tie that could pull the applicant to return to his home country at or before the expiration of the visa duration granted.

It is a document through which an applicant can proof to the VO how much investment he/she is having in landed properties in the home country.

Strong home tie is a very crucial and an important aspect of study or visit visa applications owing to the fact that many applicants have been denied based on insufficient proof of home ties, that simply means having sufficient fund is not enough to guarantee your visa approval.

As an international student, you are a temporary resident & need to show that you have reasons to leave Canada after your study (if required to do so).

IRCC wants to see evidence of your home ties. Many applicants find it easier to use their family members as part of their home ties. But in the case you're applying with your family, it means you must be ready to show other ties.

It could be your business, investments, employment, financial assets and most importantly landed properties (which are mostly preferred cos they hardly depreciate in value but appreciate more over time).

Therefore, you must know what the visa officers want to see and craft your application to satisfy them. Submitting a valuation report of your landed assets (land & building) along with other required documents for visa application could actually boost your chance of visa approval.

Either for visit, study, medical or other temporary or permanent residency visa applications, it is strongly advisable for applicants to provide a valuation report of their property(ties) in order to assist and convince visa officer about their economic/financial status in their home country and also as proof of strong home tie to pull the applicant to return on expiration of period granted.

Property Valuation report could make a visa officer develop good mental picture of who the applicant is, it just like what CV is to a job recruiter. An employer can develop an idea who a job seeker is through the CV to decide if the job seeker should be considered or not. A valuation report describe in detail the property(ies) owned by the visa applicant and the corresponding value of such a property either a house undeveloped land, agricultural farmlands etc which undoubtedly could be a strong proof of the applicant tie to the home country that can pull him/her back after his/her study.

This document shows the amount of wealth you own in property(ties) in your homeland which will make a strong pull factor for your return to your homeland once the purpose of your visit is over and that may eliminate doubt of your return and one point of visa rejection.

Also, it could serve as a support document to your proof of fund which are usually liquid assets such as bank deposit etc. It will make lots of senses if you have good financial status as confirmed by your bank statement of account and property or assets valuation report to corroborate your status.

Though, there are many who do not submit this document due to ignorance or it doesn't matter mind set but it would be wise to do it by a smart applicant especially if its a non apprearance visa application or the one you first submit your application for assesment prior to physical interview.

It is important to prove that your housing assets is valuable as a strong home tie for returning after your study abroad or temporary visit and could also be used to back up source of fund.

The report would be a guide to the visa officer to establish the affordability of expenses of visit, stay, study and that the applicant have assets that can be liquidated to raise funds if the need arises.

Whoever is interested can reach out for more details..

premiumsolution:
This is incredibly insightful advice! Many applicants overlook the importance of providing a comprehensive valuation report for their landed properties when applying for visas. It's not just about having the funds but demonstrating strong home ties and a clear financial standing. A well-prepared valuation report not only proves the value of your assets but can also highlight how these assets ensure your return home, thereby increasing the chances of visa approval. For anyone going through the visa process, securing a valuation report is definitely worth considering to strengthen your application.

TravelRe: Canadian Student Visa Thread Part 23 by Jeboy(m):
Like I said before, I will always advise you to plan your funding very well before embarking on study in Canada.

Don't attempt to go empty handed and believe the tales that you can work and foot your living expenses and tuition both. If you are lucky and hardworking, you may be able to foot your living expenses if you live lean but not including tuition. The Canadian system was not designed for student to be able to afford their tuition + living expenses reason students are allocated limited time.

Also be smart to be aware of destitute student or destitute workers clause in cases your situation of funding or work condition is genuinely affected respectively. You need to have proofs of genuine funds provision for yourself before the unexpected happened as contained under IRCC law. That option is far better than settling down for Asylum which a lot of people lie to obtain.

This is a report of closed permit workers who got open work permit based on there harsh treatment by employers who hired them on closed permit.

Since the destitute worker also works like the destitute student, all you need is to be aware and know what to do and when to apply it to your case if after you have done the needful as required by a student whose conditions were naturally messed up by their situation.

One love.

Does Canada statistics also lie that many Nigerian student are seeking Asylum?

You cant use your unique case to generalized. Lets assume your case is true, how many people have access to work in school unlimited hours?

So your case cannot be used as a template to advise people to come to Canada empty handed and depend on part time work for tuition and living expenses. Peopel even struggle to afford housing/living expenses while working you re now adding tuition. Thats suicidal.
