PoliticsAnglican Church Honours Jonathan by JECBOSS(op): 6:38pm On Dec 02, 2013
The rank of Knight Grand Cross was
given to the president.

President Goodluck Jonathan has
promised that his administration will
continue to work to better the lives of
ordinary Nigerians.
Mr. Jonathan also said his
administration will treat all Nigerians
equally, as well as develop all
regions of the country equally.
The President stated this on Monday
when he was conferred with the
Knight Grand Cross by the Noble
Communion and Holy Apostolic Order
of St. Hadrian of Canterbury.
The President was decorated with the
investiture by two Anglican clerics,
Doye Agama and Duke Akamisoko,
the Anglican Bishop of Kubwa, Abuja.
Mr. Agama, an archbishop, said the
president carries not only the hopes
and aspirations of Nigerians, but also
other aspects of the spiritual destiny
of all sons and daughters of Africa.
He recalled the previous award of
Distinguished Fellow Emeritus of the
Order which was conferred on the
president in 2009, stating that he was
elevated to the rank in Membership of
Apostolic Order of St. Hadrian of
Canterbury as Life Fellow Emeritus of
the Order in 2011.
“That appointment was especially in
recognition of your continuing steady
yet progressive piloting, of the
Nigerian ‘Ship of State’ and also
marked your record breaking
stewardship of the freest and fairest
elections ever held in this great
nation, in 2011.”
“Subsequent to the reordering of our
ranks along chivalric lines, we are
here today to invest you with the
insignia of the Knight Grand Cross of
this Order, which is reserved for
Heads of State, Senior Royalty and
highest Ecclesiastical Office. We
believe this may be prophetic of other
greater investitures to come,” he said.
Mr. Jonathan was also asked to
nominate future recipients of such
awards.

The Banker magazine, a publication

ceremony held at the Intercontinental
Park Lane Hotel, London.
The award ceremony, which was
attended by leading personalities and
institutions in business and finance
from around the world, celebrates the
achievements of the world’s leading
financial institutions.
Nominees for the award were judged
by their ability to deliver shareholder
returns and gain strategic advantage
in terms of market visibility and
positioning.
The award was also indicative of the
level of trust and confidence on the
brand and is a testament to the
strong management, sound business
model and prudent risk approach of
Zenith Bank.
According to The Banker magazine,
Zenith Bank was selected based on
the overall performance of the
institution and the opinion of leading
financial analysts from the world’s
financial markets.
Receiving the award on behalf of the
bank, the bank’s Group Managing
Director, Mr. Godwin Emefiele,
dedicated the award to his bank’s
customers while commending
management and staff for working
excellently to build Zenith into a
respectable global brand.
He said: “The bank's competitive
advantage as a financial powerhouse
for value creation in Nigeria and the
several achievements and successes
of the brand are a result of a strategic
combination of people talent,
proprietary knowledge, strong brand
equity, leadership, integrity and
relationship management.”
Earlier in the year, Zenith Bank was
named Nigeria’s largest financial
institution by The Banker Magazine.
In its 2013 rating of the world’s Top
1,000 banks, magazine listed the
bank as Africa’s 6th largest by Tier 1

to $2.969 billion within 12 months.
Zenith Bank has continually evolved
through innovation, dynamism,
insight and leadership and has
ultimately become a brand respected
globally for its tremendous success in
the deployment of cutting-edge
technology, niche marketing,

.
Zenith Bank Nigeria was ranked the
best Customer-Focused bank in both
the retail and corporate banking
categories on the basis of a Customer
Satisfaction Index (CSI) which took

pattern and performance, which have
earned Zenith Bank excellent ratings
from local and international agencies.

I can confirm that APC is fully ready for this supplementary election and they are ACTIVELY involved in the deployment of materials for the election, which started Thursday.

Meanwhile, election has already been conducted in 4,398 of the state’s 4608 polling units, with the candidate of All Progressives Grand Alliance, APGA, Chief Willie Obiano, leading with 174,710 votes and securing 25% in 18 of the 21 local government areas of the state, while Comrade Tony Nwoye of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, and Senator Chris Ngige of the All Progressives Congress, APC, came second and third with 94, 856 votes and 92, 300 votes respectively. Nwoye also secured 25% in nine local government areas, while Ngige secured 25% in
seven local government areas.
The state returning officer in the
election, Professor James Epoke, who is the vice chancellor of the University of Calabar, had said that the supplementary poll became
necessary because the margin with
which the highest scorer, Chief Willie Obiano of APGA beat the runner up, Comrade Tony Nwoye of PDP, was less than 113113 registered voters in the 210 polling units where election was cancelled

Instead of APC e-rats to leave sentiments and hold their leaders accountable they are all over social media shouting Onwa today and 'Jonathan' tomorrow. No wonder they are called Facebook party while APGA and PDP are grassroot parties.

Thumbs up Okwute ndi Igbo, Our beloved Governor Dr. Peter Obi.
