DivergentThinka: Hello Sir . I want to kindly give you a piece of professional advice . DON'T TURN ON YOUR APPLIANCES BEFORE STARTING YOUR GEN Let me explain why and I want to encourage everyone to follow this procedure when turning on your gen .
1. Ensure your change over is still on Nepa when you turn on your gen . 2. Turn off all your appliances and switches 3. Only change over to generator AFTER the gen has been turned on and running , to be more specific, running in a safe voltage. 4. Turn on your appliances one by one , this gives the generator some milliseconds/seconds to gradually adjust to the load
WHY ?
Your generator has something called a Governor , this regulates the output your generator gives . Most appliances are rated between 100 volts and 250 volts ... So depending on your country(In Nigeria here its approximately 220-230 volts) and how you have set your generator, the governor would attempt to auto-adjust the voltage to that range .
As your generator gets older or in some cases, even in new generators, this governor either completely malfunctions or doesn't auto-regulate as quickly as it should . So two possible things can happen here . Your generator can possibly output a voltage of approximately 300 volts , sometimes as high as 400 !!!! continuously ! this is an indication of a complete malfunction of the governor or a need to adjust it , OR it starts at the voltage of 300-400 and adjust itself in about a few seconds .
Long story short, during that continuous or sudden/temporary spike in voltage while you are starting your generator, anything plugged to it could potentially get burnt/damaged, in an instant .
I always just listen to the sound of the generator before turning anything on, or I check the output voltage meter that is standard on all generators nowadays . If its above 250/240 volts, I adjust it down . This is the exact reason why generators come with those meters, so you can check and be sure its safe to turn on your appliances.
I once got ALL my appliances burnt, before I was this experienced .
And oooh, one more thing, even if its Nepa Light let's all learn the habit of switching off all electronics, lights e.t.c when power goes off, except you have a central stabilizer in your home with delay activated .
Please let's take precautions . Peace I’m guessing this is what makes small generators especially the I better pass my neighbor , burn home appliances right? |

Francisanointed: Pardon my grammatical errors A lot of people who regretted getting married to their spouse can attest to the fact that they saw the "red flags" but they insist on continuing the relationship and getting married. Why do people do this ? Married men/women, single ladies/guys,what make/made you to think of marriage even after the red flags A girl continues a relationship or marry a guy that beats her often, cheats on her unrepentantly, abuse her and disrespects her. A guy continues a relationship where he sees the girl cheats, lies and disrespect him. Sometimes you know there are things you can't naturally tolerate but you tolerate them in relationship and eventually when you get married, you want those things you tolerated in your marriage to stop. That is impossible! I know you can't marry someone that is 80 percent a version of you. But you must know what you can cope with
Why do people get married with someone they saw "red flags" ? No human without a red flag when it comes to marriage, as everyone get coma, just get the one you can manage |

ElonEmpire: GoodMorning all ,
I will make this as short as possible. Before marrying my wife she seems to be this very generous and accommodating fellow . I felt fall in Love with her because this is just the kind of partner I want,
I have not really stand very well financially, though comfortable and contented, but I have this great dream of, because of what I pass through to help as much people as I can. While dating her, she told me all kinds of stories of her philanthropic and generous gestures to people.
But moving forward to today, she seems to be direct opposite of everything. She detests people coming close or we offering any kind of help or assistance to family both hers and mine not to talk of friends.
What about suggesting to assist a relative that can't afford, with their child education na war We have not born but I have more than enough space to bring one or two children to see them through school but my wife is not buying is at all at all.
I know who I am before I marry, this is the only thing that gives me joy, and my only reason for asking God everyday to bless me so that I can bless people.
But right now am seriously confused it hurts me alot but I don't wanna force anything against her will.
I have tried discussing it over and over with her but she is still not buying it, with the excuse of that we have not stand enough to carry anybody .
What could be her reasons and What should I do? There’s nothing wrong with her and she didn’t change, she used to be philanthropic and now with what you have that’s just ok with what you have at the moment you expect people into your life? Are u Norma (in mr macaroni’s voice) You should count yourself lucky for her to have seen beyond now, once you start with those things you want to do, the peace you have now won’t be there anymore, everyone will want a piece of you and if you don’t give they term you a bad person or believe your wife is behind it. Lastly, she is doing well. |

Romanoff: Is that not what most men want?
A woman who doesn't ask questions about their money and how they spend it. A woman who doesn't ask for their phone password or even go through their phone.
That right there is what most of you young men of these days want. Why the “what most of you young men want”? There should be moderation in everything, I prefer my woman asking questions as it puts me on my toes. I just know you were going to put the phone password thingy, you don’t need to know ur partner’s password or go through his phone to understand what he/she is doing or does. Once you carry one leg and put on a path you should know where the other foot is going to land. This is marriage matter not dating or gf/bf. There should be moderation in everything, some ladies or would I say most ladies don’t know how to talk, they are soooooo rude in asking questions and don’t even know when to ask questions. Your partner comes back from work n slouching on the couch and only his shoes are off or he’s in the middle of a thought or probably just came out of an argument with someone then the next thing are questions. There are happy times to ask questions and no be everything wey enter head pesin go just spit out. |

NoToPile: Haba at bolded how many times have we all read on this forum where the male gender always state they should not allow their wives know their financial worth and you are talking about fiancee here, don't check phone don't do this don't do that. Don't declare your income, don't declare your expenses to her don't this don't that.
Some men don't even declare to their wives nau.
If she goes about asking too much about how he spends his money, she will be called a leeach that can't make her own this and that.
How would she have known he was gambling online. It's just a click away.
Try not to blame the lady now you are saying a lady that is matured this and that, she's just unlucky to have fallen into his hands.
Point is it is very possible for her not to know he's very financially reckless except by divine intervention. I quite agree with you on some points you stated but a lady who wants to GET MARRIED to a particular guy should know how he spends his money, a guy who spends all his money on his extended family or puts all in projects or worse finances a hobby that yields nothing in the long run when income is low. She shouldn’t know what he earns but should know how he spends one reason is it is her he will fall back to that’s if she’s is his backbone. A woman knowing how her man spends isn’t by asking questions, it is something you notice. Take for instance in the case of a man whose lady is only into eat outs and hanging out or wants everything fashionable by all means or a man whose excesses are on items or stuff to make him feed his ego (hang outs with friends and he’s always the one buying drinks etc), if you are close to someone you love , you would notice them in little details but most times loves blinds but marriage opens it. It’s also like dating a lady who is giving subtle “Ashawo vibes”(as a guy you would understand where I’m coming from) and still won’t or don’t notice , no be juju be that |
Family › Re: I Want To Peacefully Divorce My Husband by jeff1607(m): 9:34am On Mar 03, 2022 |
Romanoff: There is no way she would have noticed it, especially if he's an online gambler. Shey y'all like your privacy and say your partner shouldn't check your phone?
That's why she wouldn't have known.
How would she have been able to track his finances when y'all get defensive when a woman ask y'all money questions?
I'd suggest counselling for both of them, if he's willing to do the work, the marriage can be salvaged. She would have known before marriage, it’s so easy to know one especially if they are dating, how can a lady marry a man who isn’t open with his expenses and his movement c’mon, plus his movement during weekends, they way he follows up on scores not actual matches, unless they didn’t court or he was spending unnecessarily and she did ask questions, a lady who is truly matured and concerned is usually worried about her man’s finances take for instance she notices his house is usually stocked with food stuffs by month end then suddenly either the pantry is empty or he’s buying half of what he usually buy she should know there’s something wrong somewhere. There are so many pointers to know while dating hence some ladies when they see such traits they just break up with such a guy and he would say “the lady just ghosted him or walked away” |

[quote author= post=110704535]They stole Almost one billion naira within 3 days?
Nigerians are the problems of Nigeria.......for real!
Greed and Dishonesty, the two main problems of an average Nigerian.
Read along to understand our reasons for saying so......
(N.B : If you are a fraudster and criminal on Nairaland, Skip to the next post or you may not survive reading this)
*HOME TRUTH*
I [i]run a manufacturing business and a trading business. The biggest challenge in my manufacturing business is not power, or infrastructure, the biggest challenge is getting honest staff. Everyone we hire appears to be on a mission to steal as much as possible. Inflated invoices, recording less than the actual number of units produced. The worst part of it all is that all the fraud we've uncovered is not done by a single person, it's usually many staff who collude with each other, from production, to sales, to finance, even top management. There was a year I overhauled management 3 times in a year......... But me, I've found a solution sha, I now use Indian management. So competent, so honest and so straightforward. I thought they were expensive at first with all the visa fees, accommodation, house staff, but now that losses due to staff theft have been reduced to a minimum, and efficiency increased, the Indian management has turned out to be cheaper than the previous Nigerian management. Now, all sensitive positions involving money go to Indians. Nigerians are only allowed in non-sensitive positions. I used to criticize companies like Dangote Group that hire so many Indians when there are many unemployed Nigerians, but now, I understand their decision.
My biggest challenge in the trading business is the same, getting honest staff. The form of trading occurs in the open market, and involves staff having access to huge sums of money running into a few millions. I know how much I pay to security companies to provide escorts for the staff, not to prevent robbery, but to ensure that the staff go straight to the bank to deposit the money after the day's sales and not disappear with my money. This money spent on security companies is even enough to be declared as profit. We have to spend on CCTV, biometric scanners and other things that wouldn't be needed if staff weren't looking for the slightest opportunity to steal.
It got so bad at a point that my main criteria for employing staff was no longer competency but honesty. At least, competency and skills can be learnt, but once you're dishonest, you're dishonest.
We always complain of the economy and how there are no jobs. I know people abroad who would have loved to set up job creating businesses in Nigeria but they can't because they can't get any trustworthy person to run it.
I know people in Nigeria with so much money, they want to start factories and other job-creating businesses but they can't because they are occupied elsewhere and can't get any trustworthy person to run the business. So instead of investing in the real sector and creating jobs, they'll just buy treasury bills, while the thieves are shouting no jobs.
Many big businesses would have been born in Nigeria if we could engage in partnerships, but we cant because you can't trust anyone. This is one advantage the Indians and Lebanese have over us in Nigeria. They can pull resources together and do mega-business, unlike Nigerians that because only one person must do everything since we can't partner, end up with small, tiny businesses.
Start a poultry and they will be stealing your eggs. Some will even go ahead to be killing the chickens so that they'll be allowed to take them home.
Start an entertainment/viewing/game center and they'll be pocketing your money. On the days you're around at the business, the money realized will be x10 of the money realized when you're not around..... Because they're eating your money.
Lease out a vehicle to a driver to use and watch as he'll finish you.
Start a restaurant, the same thing will happen. More than half of the total food ingredients will end up in their personal kitchens.
Even ordinary provisions shop, they will find a way to steal.
You'll see them with that their evil, wicked saying "na where person dey work, na there e dey chop, na e make dem dey callam workchop/workshop"...... Just imagine, justifying theft at work.
And you'll see these people point their crooked fingers at politicians when they're not any different. I usually say the reason most Nigerians haven't stolen billions of government money, is simply lack of opportunity.
*On every level, Nigerians are the problem of Nigeria*.
If the truth wanna kill the online fraudsters and criminals we have on Nairaland, you guys should better die now. We will continue to hit your head as much as we can with the truth and be against your fraudulent lifestyle ALWAYS. For all the scams you have scammed innocent people all over the world, and they end up committing suicide or becoming homeless, and y'all here thinking you are living large, kid you not, you will never enjoy that fraudulent money, it will lead you to your grave soonest. (You can keep hating honest, and hardworking members on this forum, but some of us will continue to kill you with the truth.) Only if God doesn't exist. Thieves, Barawos everywhere.

Many people don’t like stress or talk too much when purchasing an item, others are in a hurry to go somewhere else or in my case back to work. Doing small checks and pay immediately to go your way. Just putting your trust in the seller not to give a bad item. Lastly sir, you don’t have to be rude when driving your point home. |

Bionica: Bros, I really don't want to get too deeply involved in this but......
I am happy you mentioned the issue of full disclosure. Any good lawyer would make you see that refusal to disclose fully all features could be seen as a deliberate attempt to 'scam'. The semantics can be visited and analysed but the truth stands apart.
In purchasing technology be it soft or hard, there are usually some very specific details which in the majority of cases are secondary to the everyday peripheral user.
Let's take the case of a Smart T.V for instance, the varied and many features make it very difficult for a regular like like me to decide what I want so my best bet is inclining to age and price which may not be the case.
In buying stuff from here I must say that the adverts and the antecedence of the seller is a good indication of how fluid the transaction will be. People go the whole way in describing their product and stating the negatives. That is what is called integrity...which unfortunately some of us lack.
You for instance sell doors. Are you aware that many people who seek to buy doors from you in the future will conduct a little research by reading your previous posts? I would most definitely not part with my hard earned money just by reading one very loud sentence you made up there...or perhaps will only pay you after delivery and installation followed by due certification.
Pls be very careful with what you post. You are a business man.
Enough said. Same here, with all he had said I will never buy a toothpick from him or refer anyone, cos if you buy, you don buy No be juju be that? |
