Dear Nairalanders, make una nor vex abeg!!. I no say na engineers full this forum so I am expecting a hailstorm but I dont see anything "terrible" in "conceited". It is neither a curse word nor demeaning in anyway. I am sure that there are several connotations for it but I meant "big-talking" and thats all. Those who choose to be offended, where is YOUR own sense of humor?

Why u dey vex quick like this. Wetin "terrible" for "conceited", abi u no sabi the meaning? Theasurus defines it as "big-talking" which is what I meant. All na joke sha. Abeg nor vex o! No allow my "terrrible" comment spoil ur day,

@ blest
trust me, we know
.

You didnt get the full gist. You conceited ass!! grin ;DBeing an engineer is good but it's not a prerequisite to success in stocks. I deliberately claimed the "soothsayer" profession to show that you could be anything and still make informed, analytical decisions. My actual profession is extremely rewarding and the remuneration matches the fun ( no other job in the world comes close), Engineer like u no fit use megaupload sef, grin grin grin

I need to investigate ABC more intensely before saying more but they just completed their terminal in Ghana, and this haulage thing might be profitable ( even without Obajana). More scrutiny is needed on their balance sheet, management, competitors, what not but am gearing up for '08. U sure say u no wan call ur pikin Jehosaphat? That's guaranteed wisdom ( and proverbs) for life, grin grin
Best of wishes man,

@ Aktopgun,
May I commment briefly?
Flexible packaging is not the mainstay of Bagco's profit. They have a healthy looking balance sheet EVEN without the Morpack arm being operational and I have faith in their management to do what Nampak cannot, plus you have to look at Nampak's cost of operation. For example, are they using Diesel instead of gas ( which Bagco just switched to)? etc, little things like that can make a difference. Plus Bagco is the sole supplier to Burham cement and the new United Cement Coy on the way ( someone say Profit!!) AND then add the Eleme Petrochemicals deal and I see Bagco overshadowing Nampak effortlessly.

@ Pumping
When you refer to "cheaper deals in the market or about to come out", would you kindly point out a couple ( Cheaper than Bagco) so that I pounce on them? I know you dont mean Zenith, Fidelity and Afribank. Phb is definitely a buy but Bagco ranks among the better offers for sure. Like Wanajo said about Aiico, they merged with (or bought) another coy so we dont even know what the true outstanding shares are yet. Costain should be good too, lets wait and see.

I don bother u tire but abeg apply ur skills to this PP also
http://www.magnusconsulting-ng.com/PrivatePlacement.htm
I have a couple of question marks lingering over it but with things beginning to boom, and IF ( big IF) they bring on management composed of people who know people who know people in charge of National Cake, they just might be on to something. I know this is no Union Diagnostic but ,
Investment / Re: Stock Market Tips For Nigerians by jehosaphat: 11:17pm On Nov 30, 2007
@ Windywendy
Will see what I can come up with this weekend.

As an aside, for those who bought the Union Diagnostic PP, I heard it was 100% over-subscribed.

Thanks. Little contribution, PHB is in cahoots with Fortis, and they own GTI. And I am a long termer ( 2009 or thereabouts).
How did u hear about Union Diagnostics? I scoured this earth and even nearby planets for info, grin Apparently you are "standing on the shoulders of giants" like Newton. keep up the good work!

WIndywendy, welcome back!!, we were analysing Bagco's IPO recently and I happened to stumble upon one of your posts on SMN where you were in favor of buying into Bagco, DO you still feel the same way or has anything changed that you would like to highlight? I know that they did a 1for 10 split before the IPO, but one hidded factor that I took into consideration was the market for "Flexible packaging" that they seem to bak upon. I feel that the offer is offered at somewhat of a premium, but with this new Bagco Morpack whose effects on the bottom line hasnt even started to be felt, i think this is a winner. Of course, flexible packaging is in every aspect of daily life in Nigeria and Bagco is well placed to tap into that. They have moved from Diesel to gas, so energy expenses are drastically reduced, and of course with Flourmills retaining 70 % of interest I think market sentiment will propel this stock upwards.
Please apply your hammer and fire to this piece of dirt and produce gold for us!! grin grin

@ Wanajo.
Field Marshal, leave this "premature ejaculation" thing alone now?? U be pastor by calling o! It leaves a sour taste in the mouth after digesting every other astounding comment you have labored to deliver.

@ Fatherof2
You have an awesome method ( abi na modus operandi  grin grin ) for short-term investing. Please keep it coming!!!

@ All,
Please keep up the good work, I need to start working part-time to keep up with nairaland,

Easimoni, Frankiriri, Make una comeback o! Windywendy is back and we need all hands on deck for the sweet times ahead!!

@ Father of 2
I have a problem with you. You seem to be bloated with a sense of importance because you predicted Access would rally and it did. The older members of this thread have been sacrificing their time and effort to share information and make sure that every one learns but you are bent on keeping yours to your self. From EMMAACHILE's reports, software and spreadsheets, Pumpings number crunching, no-shakings End of year reports, Easimoni, Wanajo, Aktopgun, youdiyokun, Temmie 10 etc, even me and my poultry proverbs, the essence is to share info but you are not doing that and I dont think it is fair. Youngdoc asked somewhere earlier in this thread .
@ Fatherof2. May I humbly ask by what strategy you predicted that Access would rise etc etc
and you told him to go back and read his news papers, what kind of a response is that? Easimoni has asked you here
Biko Fatherof2. Abeg, how u dey predict these things? You have to reveal the "code" you've been alluding to.
You ignored him.
Yodiyokun asked you again and your reply was " hahahahaa"

I dont think thats the spirit of this thread angry, and if you would rather not say, why not tactically let us know that it is a secret software or something and not gloat ! angry angry

I dont expect you or anyone one else to reply just so we dont start another flow of bad blood but it has rankled within my belly and so i felt i should point it out.

Meanwhile, anyone watching Japaul?
Investment / Re: Stock Market Tips For Nigerians by jehosaphat: 8:42pm On Nov 27, 2007
My Bros,
I dey o, observing the goings-on from the sidelines. Bagco was a no-brainer for me. Ive already grabbed my "copieS". PHB is next, skpping Zenith due to buoyancy ( tho it might turn out right), Costain and Aiico next. End of purchases for a while,
How do you see this plan?
Investment / Re: Stock Market Tips For Nigerians by jehosaphat: 7:57pm On Nov 27, 2007
AHHHHHH!
How could I have missed such a juicy altercation. That would have been a time for proverbs and soothsayers.
@ Temmie 10
Which one be say u can tell the content of something by somethings name etc etc. Isnt Guardian newspaper the most obsolete newspaper right now with "current news" dating back to March, and some obscure newspaper "Nigerian Flashlight" is giving me timely and relevant info?/

No make me sign up as "Tommie10" or "Temm1e 10" or "Temmie 11" just now and start offering stock advice, grin grin

Seriously, it is a blessing to be in this forum and I think we should form an investment group SOLELY for this MTN placement and then we buy our other stocks individually. We can start contributing now in order to be ready when the PP comes out. What say y'all?
