u v seen how westerners live their lives.Hope you see how Kim Kardashian helped her sisters not cousins o..look at Lionel Messi, his elder brother is his publicity manager his dad is his manager not uncle, cousin and brother in law

Like I wrote, to each his own. You are entitled to spend your earnings however you deem fit. The choice is yours.

The people you quoted I'm sure you realise that they are all accountable for the responsibility bestowed on them; Messi's example comes into perspective. Hence you don't just quote people for quoting sake, rather try to understand their view point. My point is clear, I do not subscribe to irresponsibility and wastage family or not, and the people you mentioned have handled what's given to them responsibly.

BLoomfrancs:

You are getting it all wrong. If he or she has no managerial experience or capabilities or the drive or the fighting spirit or the discipline that moulds a good manager, etc, making them managers is gonna spell doom for you and your business.

I know a man who is now about 70 years. He is lonely and miserable all because of what he did when he was in London. His brother who sent him to London to manage one of his businesses in Liverpool found out later that he was mismanaging the business with reckless abandon. The man was busy squandering the proceeds of the business on white thots. When the elder brother who made him the manager heard about this, he traveled all the way from Dallas in USA and came with paid thugs to kill this man, not minding that he is his brother. It took the intervention of their mum who begged and cried for him to spare this man but let nemesis deal with him. The elder brother finally sent him packing and disowned him as his brother. The events that played out led to his deportation to Nigeria.

Whenever I remember this man, I know that some people can't be helped by just being given money to. They will only drag you down to square one if care is not taken. cool

Please tell him...

This is my mantra and I have long made peace with critiques. I can't work my butt off day and night and have you squander my sweat just cos you are my sibling. Same God created the westerners and us and I see the way they live their lives.

Nobody should be entitled to another's sweat. Bring up ideas, be willing to engage and have vision, otherwise I would be more than willing to help a total stranger who will make me appreciate the rudiments of my help by making their lives better.

Anybody can say anything they want but I'm not pertubed anymore. To each his own...

They can hold it.

Let them continue to deceive themselves. Na their families go suffer.

If Nigerian abroad truelly send 29 billion dollars, we wont be in any dollars crises even if the price of oil falls.

In 2019, Nigeria oil revenue was $64.9 billion, so this people abroad are telling us that they send almost half of the country's oil revenue. What a joke.

Infact oil and agriculture are the bulk of Nigeria's revenue, not diaspora remittance.

If you don't know about your nation's revenue distribution knidly get yourself educated with published data and avoid writing without facts.
Oh and mind you, the diaspora remittances calculated do not include the black market and P2P exchanges...

Health / Re: COVID-19 Vaccines Side Effects: Lagos Residents Share Their Experiences by Jelzin2412(m): 9:16am On Mar 15, 2021
PoliteActivist:

Bulgaria suspended the vaccine after a 57-year-old woman died of heart failure 15 hours after she received a dose of the AstraZeneca vaccine.

Austria, Italy, Luxembourg, Estonia, Lithuania and Latvia stopped using certain batches of the vaccine.

The European Medicines Agency is investigating reports of blood clots in vaccinated people but presently there is no firm evidence of a link between the vaccine and blood clot incidents.

On Friday, Thailand became the first country in Asia to suspend the use of the AstraZeneca vaccine.

The recent suspension of the AstraZeneca vaccine in some European nations will cause further delays for the EU’s vaccine rollout programme, which has faced heavy criticism for its efficiency and rollout speed.

That still falls under the category of side effects unfortunately. However, there are still other products of same vaccine and if their's have proven to have wider therapeutic index then it should be used for now while the astrazeneca product be pushed back.

Nevertheless it's not unusual for the first batches of a vaccine product to be less effective with greater adverse effects. Pharmaceutical companies will keep fine tuning their productions until a better and widely accepted vaccine is obtained with greater efficacy and minimal adverse effects; this is same with every pharmacological agents that we use.

Lastly, in the roll out of any drug/Vaccine and prior to its acceptance, the benefits are plotted against its demerits and if the former is significantly higher then its use is likely to be approved. Hence, It's better to use it for now considering the impact of no vaccine at all. Hopefully its production will continue to be fine tuned to meet agreed standard and this is the importance of research.

what purpose is the vaccine going to achieved? post covid-19 or what?

Vaccine is like every other pharmacological agent and so has its side effects too. Some of you have had some antimalarial drugs, didn't you have more worrisome side effects like nightmares, headache, abdominal pain, dizziness etc...Why the noise about COVID-19 vaccine? If you are without such knowledge as regards side effects of medications then get educated about it.

All these conspiracy theories are borne out of sheer ignorance. Lastly, no one will ever force you to get vaccinated cos it's not even enough for people who wants to take it..

This one way to go

My brother, na you day do yourself.

You see I've been in this shoe and I can tell you with all sense of responsibility that if today you leave this Earth (God forbid) your parents, siblings and friends will survive 100% without you, I can tell you this for free, you shouldn't attend to every books dropped at request, sending your siblings airtime, What! You must be joker sincerely.

Your approach is making your circle very weak, complacent and entitled.

To circumvent this, you will have to create systems that generate money for your parents since they are old, equally you may want to encourage them to find avenues they could raise money for themselves within the capacity of strength they can muster, without overstressing to themselves, either open a small shop, or a biker to remit funds to them every week or something, just think, you understand your family better than I do.

Secondly you sister must develop herself to become a person with valuable skills she can exchange for money, maybe a hair dresser, tailor, a writer, sells cloth or something, there are businesses she could start with as low as 20K and make good profits to take care of her immediate needs like airtime, pad, transportation to school etc

You keep employing this approach of a miracle worker for every single need within your circle, you will soon become an angry man. Haba

The way it works for me is that I attend to cogent needs that could stress my parents especially when it has to do with heavy payments with short deadlines (school fees and rent), I can't imagine my brother or sister in University expecting me to recharge their phone! I have ensured they develop themselves to become people of value, who can exchange that skill for money.

Walahi God bless you for this master piece...I tolled a line similar to his until I borrowed some sense. Call me stingy! No wahala. But if you no help yourself OYO na that my sibling case. Yes I want to help but I have to work with you and not feed you like a toddler..

Kudos for your piece of advice

Sad. The NCDC is not even scratching the surface of this pestilence. So, so many cases and deaths unreported.

This is and has always been the problem. Nevertheless, how many Nigerians visit a clinic when they are sick? The impact of COVID-19 in Nigeria is grossly underestimated, hence when I see people approaching science/medicine with logic it makes me smile but not surprised at all.

Unfortunately, Nigerians bask in the euphoria of scam and rest their fate more on insha Allah and by God's grace, so make all mallam carry him kettle. Las las we go dey alright....

What is this world turning into?

DNA test should be made compulsory in every hospital to save one from stress biko.. I would allow it if we talk about it but going to conduct such test without my knowledge is a big No for me.
Come to think of it, some hospital do switch babies at birth right? What if there's a possibility of carrying someone's else baby home

The simplest way to find out would be to match the child's DNA test result to that of the mother and if there's no match, then the child ain't even theirs and was likely switched and vice versa

I ask just one Question.

Why is it that Some people online are always so quick to attack churches for holding services.

When the lockdown was enforced last year.
Oh your Government gave dates for markets to be open.

Mondays
Wednesdays
And Fridays

Oh so Covid-19 is a reasonable disease.
It stays at home on Mondays
Wednesdays and Fridays?

Look around everyone's moving about freely and there's no covid-19 in your neighborhood.
You'll come online and be saying Covid is real. How real is it when you can't see it.
Malaria is real we do see it on a regular basis.

Of covid-19 is so real we'd all be dead by now.

Quick Fact
A virus just like
1. Polio
2. Small Pox
3. Measles

Can't infect a person twice
Yunno why cus your body gets immune once vaccinated.

But you've seen someone out of greediness will readily accept and come online to rant that he/she got the virus twice.

Haba

It's high time yunno the Government doesn't care about you.

Being infected with measles does not gain one a life long immunity from it. Medicine and science isn't logic and not as simple as you think it to be...cheers

COVID-19 situation simply made me understand one particular cliché; "Education does not guarantee literacy" especially amongst Nigerians.

I will leave it at that but then it's quite obvious our leaders are true reflection of us; an unambiguous doppleganger effect.
Politics / Re: COVID-19: FG May Impose A Travel Ban - Lai Mohammed by Jelzin2412(m): 6:37am On Dec 22, 2020
The funny thing is whatever decision is taken now is indeed late.
Viral infection and its spread pays no heed to time or plans; it just continues its transmission unabated.

If UK announced the new strain some days ago then it must have been there for at least some weeks before its discovery, which simply means this particular strain is in almost all the countries provided flights carrying passengers landed their airports within the last 2wks, hence these bans may not likely achieve the much desired results.

Nigeria for instance, has at least 5 commercial flights from UK landing on its ground everyday. Within the last 10 days what's the guarantee we don't have this new strain already with us? Your guess is as good as mine.

So whatever restrictions they announce just know the new strain is likely here with us and may have been apparent in our population within the last few weeks even. Hence, scientifically what will the flight restriction achieve? And what would be its economic impact?

FG may be corrupt but Governance is not that easy...

No thats not how it works...
Coming from the perspective of violated visas, if an individual was caught in a lockdown and can provide proof of a return ticket to his home country, provisions can be made for visa extensions (especially the UK) due to covid19.

Secondly provided there is a proof of return the government supports the welfare of such stuck individuals (as they did in the earlier lockdowns to individuals who could not return to their respective destinations).

Thirdly Airlines also assist in such situations (like they did earlier)

Nigeria's embassy would not be dealing with the welfare of stuck travellers (as they never have) ...

Bottom line the Government is displaying gross incompetency by being slow to address this emergency, waiting till there's a heavy arrival of people from the UK due to Christmas holidays increasing transmission risks of this new covid strain, before erecting control measures.

Don't you just love Nigeria?

Sorry what support are you talking about? Unless it's in another country and not the UK.
Yes visa extension is provided but such persons fend for themselves.
I had many friends trapped here during the first wave and they had to indulge with illegal jobs just to survive. You are on your own!
