dejahvu, i started learning maya early 2007, but i have dedicated so much time to it. i learnt it all myself and i am still seriously learning more. there are still a couple of other things to learn. u could learn it on ur own if u have lots of time to spend with i.

truetalk, i guess in the installation cd, there is provision for cracking maya, go thru the readme file, u should get answers; if not u can mail me on jemit2002@yahoo.com, i may be able help with some crack solutions. we can also communicate thru dis.

3d max is also a good software.
i am really looking for people i can work with on future commercial projects.

maya is a 3d modelling and animation software. it has various applications e.g in the film and tv industry to create CGI and visual effects.

u should try ur hands on it.

i guess what u need is a 'blue or green screen' background for composition. u'll need a good studio or enclosed room where u can control the lighting within the room.

got a couple of stories which can be developed into screenplays but for the right pay. i have to see the greenlight before proceeding wi the scripts. need connections to producers and filmakers

You could even start a Nollywood movie review blog and make some money for yourself.

and from there start a mag that will be of international standard, where nolywood will be reviewed. the movies and the people involved. movies, actors and directors/producers who get bad ratings will never be productive in the industry.

(An example is the Alexander film of 2004 with Colin Farrell & Angelina Jolie. it did not make any profit mainly because of the many criticisms it received from 'the critics').

of course, i believe and agree that a form of 'film critic board' should arise to tackle the types of movies being churned out each day.

but the members of the board should be educated and also wel-learned in the film industry.

we can start something like dat here in nairaland. all we need is a idea of the movies being produced and those involeved in the production.

I'm so happy to see how you guys talk intelligently on topics like this. Let us not just forget the initial call i made about making impact in the nigerian film industry. No matter where we are we will always be refered to as nigerian filmmaker. I see myself as a nigerian film maker although i'm not in nigeria. lets joing hands and make a change. let find a way of coming together and put a few films out there that will call the attention of the world. Tsotsi film from south africa did it. Writers, cinematographers, editors, directors lets tell the world THAT QUALITY CAN COME FROM NIGERIA NOT ONLY QUANTITY.

i still seriously believe we can make impact in the industry. want to know something, bishoptboy, hope u are coming back to niga to pour out all the knowledge and skill u have acquired where u are.

i feel the idea of we putting heads, hearts and hands together to come up with a good film. i am looking for people to work with.

can i just come up an idea or do i bring up something dat i have thought of and really developed. to come up wit an idea, i think an understanding of the average south african lifestyle would be an advantage. i dont think bringin an idea or story based on nigerian lifestyle will matter much.

i dont think i will ever be a fan of 2d. dont get me wrong, i love the old walt disney cartoons etc but i so much prefer the 3d mediu of expression.

why dont u guys come up wit some 2d flick.

i am in search of young talented actors and actresses who can feature in a short movie i want to produce. i am interested in people who realise that there needs to be a change in Nollywood.

the short is intended to showcase each of our talents and to show the world that something international can still come out of Nigeria.

lets keep in mind that most of the internationally acclaimed film-makers did short films to show their worth before they became what they are rite now.

i am an aspiring film director. i am presently into 3d modelling and animation and also video editing.

i have been into 'cinematography' for a while now.

junky u said u re a scriptwriter, i wud like to meet someone like u so we can work together on some stories. i have got a couple of stories and have started but not completed the scripts for many of them.

i hope u re really good, as in different from the rest.

lafem nice work on ur 2d projects, but to speak the truth i am not one dat has interest in 2d animation may be because i have not seen the best or future in it. to me i feel its time has passed and 3d is here to stay(at least until 4d comes around).
