The problem with homosexuals is that they are always seeking rights; always campaigning when it is obvious that there would be no need to campaign for something if it were generally acceptable to a MAJORITY.the campaign was a backlash against proposed law in 2009 to criminalize homosexuality with jail and death sentences. so basically it was a fight for their lives. |
^the guy was ugandan. |
Tensor, would you let this happen to your son if he turns out gay: https://i.huffpost.com/gen/205868/thumbs/s-RAYMOND-CHASE-PHOTO-large.jpg Raymond Chase Commits Suicide, Fifth Gay Youth To Take Life In Three Weeks http://www.huffingtonpost.com/2010/10/01/raymond-chase-suicide_n_746989.html homeless and runaway black gay youths domestically abused by parents and relatives at home. http://www.nytimes.com/2007/05/17/us/17homeless.html |
tensor777:well obviously the chances are lower but if it happens, the child may run away from home due to domestic abuse and end up in the streets getting involved in drugs and risky sexual behavior. stuff that arise as a result of marginalization from mainstream society esp. in black community. in the best scenario, he will get help from a specialty shelter: http://www.nytimes.com/2007/05/17/us/17homeless.html |
tensor777:tensor my friend. gays are not aliens from mars. neither are they inferior to straights. just regular folk like you or me ![]() And how do you know that some school teachers are not lesbian or gay? Are you going to carry your own special application form to schools you decide to enroll your kids in? How do you know they won't end up having gay friends etc. how do you know one of your kids won't end up actually coming out as gay? besides, what kind of rumours are you talking about? lol |
Is homosexuality even a worse "sin" than lying? I thought all sins were supposed to be equally bad. Anyway, personally at this point I don't give a damn. It doesn't affect me or my life, family, etc in any way. So why should I be so opposed to gays?
we are all sinners anyway. I will leave it to God to judge whose sin is worse. i'm sure its in the bible not to judge or throw stones. Let's leave that to the court system. |
Especially for a 40 year old woman. Indeed, the older the wine, the better.
y me:me |
It wasn't the professors. It was interacting with gay people and realizing that a lot of them are good folk. One of the gay dudes who I went to college with, he wasn't even effeminate. Liked playing basketball, pretty decent at it. Liked the sorts of things most normal, red-blooded American males like. . . with one exception ![]() I don't get your comment about "would never trust." Why are they less trustworthy than straight people, in your opinion?
yup. you just need to interact with them to know that they are regular human beings like us. lol why should they be criminalized for their sexual orientation. sefago is fstranger. . . in the closet. i'm waiting for him to come out. |
hmm so nairaland has issues with some other nigerian websites. ![]() I guess it's all in the spirit of competition |
Katsumoto: yea lol whatever u say. |
tensor777:can't you be conservative without being homophobic? |
Katsumoto:ok but don't you see an irony in it? hating lesbians and gays. but targeting gays especially for hate crime rather than lesbians because you are turned on by the lesbians. lol isn't that perverted. |
tensor777:hmm. . . so your argument is that gays are more likely to come from single mother homes. that is a research question that will remain an assumption until proven. but my opinion is that it is a ridiculous assertion. lol anyways, I'm not sure if I mentioned this in a previous post but this "machismo" culture in black community that you mention is actually significant in the American LGBT debate. Not in understanding the numbers but the forms of homosexuality. My understanding is that black gays are probably the most marginalized in society due to the whole hypermasculinity that exist among them and therefore, black gays are most likely to be without support or education that cause them to be engaged in questionable habits which in turn lead to such things as high STD and HIV rates etc. than white gays. ex. black gays are probably more likely to be in the "closet" or be involved in dangerous habits due to lack of education, support and acceptance in mainstream society. This is actually hurting the society not helping it. From a personal perspective, my gay friends are upper middle class white and asian and the stereotype of the perverted gay doesn't apply to them at all!! They are far from being perverted and the adjectives I can use to describe them are effeminate or girly. Nothing wild or anything like that. |
tensor777:lol. ok. you are developing your own theories here. by this reasoning, majority of black males in the US must be gay since 80% have absentee fathers. |
SEFAGO:I even thought he was making a homophobic joke at first then realized he actually really believed that gays grow up to r.ape boys!! ![]() Point is, men get turned on by just looking at a woman. It doesn't require much effort to arouse a man.lol. she is just pointing out the irony in it. ex. an islamist who believe women should be veiled but go to visit love-peddlers at night. |
ex. an 8yr old boy having a crush on his male teacher or on a male friend. or on a male celebrity. or an 8 yr old girl having a crush on a female etc. this is not impossible. In fact, while in school as a young child. I know classmates who exhibited those behaviors but I thought nothing of it back then. and this was in Nigeria |
tensor777:lol very simple. ex. i'm straight. I had my first crush from a very young age and it was on a BOY. didn't even know the concept of sexual orientation at this time. and up until now, I am only attracted to males the opposite will be the case for a gay. although they can remain in the closet (especially after puberty when they are able to conceptualize what's going on) and choose not to disclose their attraction to same sex due to fear. |
tensor777:I already answered your question. it is called "coming out" and it's not a taboo topic at all. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/National_Coming_Out_Day This was my response:
shouldn't you be asking what made them "come out of the closet"? many of them hide their sexual orientation for yrs due to fear. many gay men are married to women for the same reason. and have secret gay partners outside poor women. btw, I have married gay and lesbian professors too (gay marriage is legal in many American states). I've met their partners sometimes. so it's not like I only know "youngster" gays
|
eldee:lol. I agree. Imagine him claiming that all gays are perverts and rapists. ![]() and then accusing another person of being sentimental to me, the gay ppl I know are far from being perverted. Then again, I don't hang out with perverted ppl whether gay or straight. |
tensor777:shouldn't you be asking what made them "come out of the closet"? many of them hide their sexual orientation for yrs due to fear. many gay men are married to women for the same reason. and have secret gay partners outside poor women. btw, I have married gay and lesbian professors too (gay marriage is legal in many American states). I've met their partners sometimes. |
SEFAGO:I agree. I feel more awkward around lesbians and i'm comfortable more around gay gays. the ones I know are just like girls. lol |
tensor777:oh wow. lol I don't "imagine" what gay people do. I have gay friends so I actually know what they do rather than "Imagining" that they are raping boys about. You know like they say "ignorace breeds contempt (fear, prejudice etc)" A redneck white who has never met a black person in his life tend to also have base ideas about blacks and to him, his ideas will seem justified. lol |
Sagamite:I also feel disgusted by a lot of people. Mr Cork for example is one of the most disgusting and perverted characters i've come across on nairaland. But I wouldn't call for his death if i were in power or anything like that. lol If he did something that went against the rules of NL I might report him to the moderator. that's understandable. Even you, Sagamite, disgust me at times. ![]() I think generally, some humans are sadistic in nature and always target a population that are less powerful than themselves. Or pupulation they feel threatened by. I hate homophobics just as much as you hate gays. To me, the line should be drawn where we are actually attacking each other's rights to freedom and life. |
tensor777:what do you have to say to this http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_animals_displaying_homosexual_behavior |
Sagamite:so how come gay men get the brunt of of the prejudice and hate? is it because you somehow feel threatened? ie you can always rape the lesbian etc. YES many lesbians get raped by homophobic men. This is an actual CRIME and that's the irony of homophobia. |
tensor777: ![]() are you joking or you are actually speaking seriously? plz clarify. |
Do you have proof for this. The studies on genetic disposition itself is technically inconclusive, but its more likely than not that gays attraction to others is genetic. I am a bit ambivalent though to be honest. I dont think its possible to actually discover hereditary patterns for homos. I would prefer logic to be used instead, and experiential thought as opposed to using significant time and effort- Its not that easy to choose what you get attracted to.@ Sefago, same here. It is no news that gay men for example tend to be effeminate. this is a marker for "gayness" and it has led to a lot of stigma. There are many effeminate men who are not gay and vice versa. but will you say for example that being an "effeminate" male is a choice? reminds me of the topic on Mr. Segun Gele. The man is not even gay. He got married early this year but because of his effeminate nature, there were so many hate words and ridicule targeted against him in that thread. Won't this guy be beaten to death in the street if he accidentally walked on the wrong streets? Talkless of if he happened to be gay or "openly gay" since ppl on the thread called him a closet gay. https://www.nairaland.com/nigeria/topic-579786.0.html I've read in a scientific paper that effeminacy in males is as a result of hormone levels in the mother during pregnancy. ie less testosterone than usual etc. |
tensor777:should we jail or kill MrCork because he is perverted? |
tensor777:That's not my problem if people are born gay or not. Even blacks were proven to be scientifically subhuman in the past and who could have argued against "science"? Sometimes, you only have to use your common sense (the idea of Human rights stems from an older idea of "natural law" to know that humans deserve human rights as long as they are not violating the lawful rights of others. As long as the homosexuals are not preying on little boys/girls (pedophilia) or violating property rights (necrophilia) etc then they should be allowed just as much freedom to live as you or I. do you agree with that and if not, why? |

That is not even the issue here. It is the insiduous Western-inspired pro-faggott lobby trying to force their agenda down the throats of Ugandans who are noted for their conservative Christian views.well, Tensor, obviously you have not been following the Ugandan GLBT debate. If you have, you will recall that in late 2009, there was a bill proposed to sentence gay people to jail or even death. So in essence, the gay activism is not about forcing agenda down people's throat. It's about fighting for their human rights!!! actually think it's ironic that you are condemning GLBT activism in Africa while you are enjoying rights as an ethnic minority in a western country. Rights that activists like MLK and millions of other unrecognized minorities have fought and died to secure through history. besides, why are you always assuming only your own opinion to be valid? You can't tell anybody to "keep out of a debate" because it won't be a debate at all if it was one sided. I'm referring to this comment of urs Better keep out of this debate queensmith as you don't really have any idea of what it is about. |
ogugua88: ogugua88:exactly. respect is reciprocal |
