MRbrownJAY:many will marry a woman old enough to be their mother if they can get material gains from it. ex. oyinbo, sugar mummy etc. same is true vice versa. |
ronkebp:hahaha ![]() |
everybody knows French women are skinny because they smoke cigarettes for breakfast, lunch and dinner. should Nigerian girls copy that too? http://jezebel.com/5568997/french-women-smoke-to-remain-thin-at-all-costs |
I tried twice. fail!! ;;;;; on a more helpful note, u can use a non-google search engine (ex. yahoo search) and use the cache feature to browse wikipedia. hopefully the site will be back tomorrow. Didn't realize the website's shut down would affect me but it did. |
my cousin protested in lagos. I thought he was joking until I saw d pics on facebook. |
why in the world is this on front page? here I am in over my head wondering who Tonak is? Moderator should clarify on the front page that Tonak is a nairaland member. not a real life celebrity. |
Araboy:my husband, what are you saying about yoruba people? ![]() |
^ she's a 35 yr old grown woman. show some respect. my opinion is I don't find her to be original and really don't get all the hype about her. even her popular TED talk seems to come word-for-word from an Achebe interview from the 80s that I watched somewhere. I was reading d article this morning and it read so boring like a typical adichie novel although she started to make more sense toward the end of the article. I am however happy there is an op-ed piece from naija on nytimes. I will give her props for making that happen. |
no one noticed the eyeshadow, brow pencil and lip balm? seems like he was in a circus show. I would put money in his hat for being cute. |
Meklex:what is your salary per month? |
nigeria definitely doesn't need Social Security. we can't even afford to feed ourselves now!! talkless of saving money for feeding ourselves when we are aged. whoever came up with this plan for Nigeria needs to check his/herself. and why would anybody create this sort of thread esp. in the wake of subsidy removal? |
I guess your mom went to the sperm bank to meet your dad |
see all these crackheads. who dash you girlfriend? |
nothing new. even over in the US, George Bush had a long history of family ties with Saddam Hussein. there is so much nobody knows that always is going on behind the scene ![]() |
coogar:yes the akatas consider the word 'akata' to be derogatory. but seriously all words used in association with AAs are considered by them to be derogatory. lol it's just the nature of being AA that everything associated with them with be considered negative. so I could care less. even if you call akatas "cool" 10yrs from now "cool" will become a derogatory word. their market value always drops faster than a mansion built in the middle of the ghetto. they found the word "nigga" to be derogatory so they started using the word "colored" they found "colored" to be derogatory so they started using the word "black" they found the word 'black" to be derogatory so they started using "african american" by adding two inherently non derogatory words ('african' and 'american') together, hopefully they've found the lucky combination. to make matters worse, they go around calling themselves nigga. what irony |
coogar:you were clearly being insultive. aki/paw paw are midgets. sexkillz is not an albino. it's like people using "gay" as an insultive word. I do sometimes but i'm honest about it plz be honest with yourself. and stop beating around the bush. |
african americans need to embrace their american-ness. slave trade happened over 2 centuries ago. learn from the south americans. you don't see them singing kumbaya and doing DNA ancestral tests lol trying to identify with africans. big FAIL. since we have very little in common with each other. lol coogar:not the same difference. the difference is wider. I will dare say that most africans share similar cultural values. most africans I know who walk with AAs are usually akata-nized africans. more typically second generation. |
MsDarkSkin:get over it. this was centuries ago. your kind are your fellow akatas. and your last sentence explains so much as to why you spend a bulk of your time on Nairaland. hahaha coogar:let's talk about culture not ancestry. africans are vastly different from african americans. as different as day and night. there is even no discussion there. |
the guy just strikes me as being extremely arrogant. always trying to take credit for economic successes around the world but blaming others for d failures. so into himself. funny thing is I always thought his millenium village was a brilliant idea. but the more i learn of him, the worse my impressions become |
Jefferey Sachs can go to hell. I can't even bear to listen to him. what I don't understand is why african countries always listen to these arm-chair economist who do not know the reality of Africans yet they directly or indirectly create majority of our economic policies. and then when they realize they have failed, they point fingers at "corrupt politician" as if they were ignorant of the fact that said politicians were corrupt in the first place. |
coogar:
kumbaya, feel the power. one love. **raises fist**
hahaha kumbaya indeed https://africanamericanblackgifts.com/catalog/images/C-U912yellow.jpg |
coogar:I don't see what my comment has to do with stephanie okereke. plz elaborate. |
