Jenifa, I dnt think so, cause I know she over trusted the husband. undecided undecided undecided

she seems to me like someone who doesn't have a good marriage. there are many women who are most happy when their husbands travel out.
she's trying to start a new life IMO.

all she needs is a divorce

shilling:

I'll post a more detailed skin regimen in a bit. Meanwhile, I would love to hear what you've done to maintain/improve your skin's condition.

I can't say I have glowing skin. but the best advice you could get is to eat healthy and drink a lot of water. fix the inside and you will see results on the outside.
for starters, try getting yourself on a daily multivitamin.

in terms of facial products, anything that performs a miracle is probably dangerous or has a ton of chemicals in it.
but if you do really want immediate/miracle type result try retinol at a doctor's prescription strength.

ultimately my advice is to go simple and natural. oils like coconut oil or jojoba oil (shea butter broke me out). you will see changes over months period but it is worth it!!

Clearly in the Naija setting, the propensity for arrogance rests with the one with the power.

Pre and during toasting, the power rests with the ladies so that's the likely source of arrogance.

Post toasting/marriage, the power rests with the man which is where the arrogance has come from in this post.

what an insight!

he should be impeached for gross incompetency
Family / Re: by Jenifa1: 2:26am On Jan 05, 2012
@ Chaircover,

that's the typical marriage relationship in naija for you.
but the folks in question are so conditioned to this kind of dynamic that most of the women don't see anything wrong with it until they move abroad and maybe see how their oyinbo counterparts are doing it. combine this exposure with financial freedom and katakata don burst.

BlueDiva:

Most people here have been abroad. Don't you see that whites are generally warmer than us?
Nigerian men are not saints but i tell you, most are generally warmer than the women.

the oyinbo warmth is mostly superficial to me (maybe because of cultural barriers?). but definitely welcome. I've had tons of experiences similar to the poster who was helped with her luggage by the post man. no naija man will do that for you.

I think both genders have their serious issues.

I've never seen it in the city.

Actionleap:

Being a husband to woman of this day is a full time job of balancing act. Hear them; we don't want a domineering man and we don't want a submissive man. Woman are attracted to domineering men and they try to "beat" them to submisiveness when they are settled already.

nobody wants a domineering or submissive partner.
you should try to be a "best friend" to your partner. not her" oga" or her "omo odo"
Politics / Re: The Economist On Naija Fuel Subsidies by Jenifa1: 5:09pm On Jan 04, 2012
Deep Sight:

Here is the thing. the cost of fuel subsidy was actually less than 300 billion NGN previously. How did it become N1.3 Trillion? ? ? ?

Some one is telling a profound lie here.

lol.  nigeria could never afford to spend trillions on its citizens.
I even question the N 300 billion quote. which kain subsidy. there was never a subsidy! at least I don't believe it.

---
beneficiaries of Nigerian wealth have always been a few rich.
even as the mass are now paying double (or triple) to buy fuel. the rich will continue to get richer in naija.

this is an example of what might happen to the supposed "subsidy" money
our whole surplus federal reserve was depleted in a period of months!!!

I don't believe the story. fabricated lies. imagine the author couldn't quote him plainly without inserting his own words. no where did the guy mention igbo. he was probably referring to MASSOB or even boko haram for all I care.

made public the unrepentant and anti-Semitic (anti-Igbo) position of the federal government of Nigeria

By the way Jenifa, you introvert? cool

haha that's cool. you just have to find a lady who is a bit more extroverted than you.
men tend to be generally more introverted than women anyway.

introvert of course
Politics / Re: And So The Rip Off Ended by Jenifa1: 11:48pm On Jan 02, 2012
ekt_bear:

If the prices of oil isn't cheaper in Nigeria than its neighbors, then there is zero profit in smuggling. Hence no incentive for anyone to do so.

If the prices at the McDonald's in my town are higher than that of the next town, nobody will trek over from there to here when they want a Big Mac.

of course price of oil will be naturally cheaper in Nigeria because we are a major oil producing country. subsidy or no subsidy.
there is no reason that the price of oil should be more expensive in Nigeria than in benin or togo. If that is the case then what we have in our hands is an unfair price hike.

it's cheaper and more efficient to monitor the borders. keeping in mind, it's not only oil that's being smuggled from the country.
besides raising fuel price will reduce domestic demand and affect the economy worse than smuggling does.
or is there something i'm not seeing or understanding? I don't get it.

the funny thing is that in the past few years, we have been having surplus accounts due to high price of crude oil. and this has account still gets wiped out due to corruption. we can't save money for nothing. what makes me believe that the so called "subsidy" exists or that we will manage the money well?
Family / Re: 5 Things Every Extrovert Should Know About Introverts by Jenifa1: 10:56pm On Jan 02, 2012
@laidback,
yes it really is all relative.

so I am wondering how you are when you are with your girlfriends. who is usually the more introverted one? who is usually the more extroverted one?
when you say you are more attracted to introverts, does that mean that you prefer to be the extrovert in the relationship? or do you prefer yourself to be the more introverted one in the relationship.

if you want an extrovert, find one who is just a little bit more extroverted than you. so you can cope with each other.
if you want an introvert, I think you should be fine. you just have to be a little bit more extroverted than her.
there has to be a balance.

kinda like identical twins, one is usually more extroverted compared to the other. even though they both might be introverts.
or a married couple.
or any relationship in general.
it's all about balance really
Politics / Re: And So The Rip Off Ended by Jenifa1: 10:24pm On Jan 02, 2012
this band aid cure makes absolutely no sense whatsoever. once people get adjusted to the new price hike, smuggling will go on as usual.
aren't they supposed to control the borders to solve the problem?

I predict there will be more more oil thefts in the months to come. If we can't protect our borders, how can we protect our pipelines.

Yep. I have like 3 really close friends, been great friends for years now. One of them is introverted, but occasionally you'd mistake him for an extrovert. The remaining 2 are completely extroverted. my other good friends are a mix with more being extroverts.

As for female (romantic) relationships, I find it difficult to hang on to the extroverted ones. But basically I'm a one at a time kind, only move on to the next if the present doesn't work out - if you get my drift. I tend to really like the introverted ladies who seem to prefer the extroverted guys. It's confusing!

On a 1-10 index, i'm a 6.5 introvert

what makes it difficult for you to hang on to extroverted girlfriends?
how do you mean by you tend to like introverted women who prefer extroverted guys? do they tell you that?

about the opposites attract thing, what I would assume is that when two introverts are together, one of them will be more extroverted than the other. ex.if your gf was 8.5 introverted, you would be the more extroverted one. or in her eyes, you would be extroverted.

I couldn't agree with you more.

No it's not about whether the Introvert can get the girl. I usually don't have problems getting a girl I'm attracted to reciprocating that interest. It's just that as introverts we tend to over analyse a lot. So instead of just going with the flow and watching how things pan out. I want to know upfront if it is worth it.

Also I somehow just like the opposites attract theory. My closest friends (for years) are the very smart and witty extrovert types - so i think my romantic, (opposite-sex) relationships should mirror this particular trend. but it rarely does, in that I till find myself liking introverts. infact I've noticed most of these same introvert ladies seem to prefer the extroverted guys. However if I really like her i'll still go ahead and score some great points. do you understand my ish?

do you have any introverted close friends?
how introverted are you on a scale of 1-10?
