Hi all, I'm posed with a slight issue regarding my place of birth, please see below.

Birth Certificate: PLACE OF BIRTH - Lagos.
International Passport: PLACE OF BIRTH - Ogun.

The actual place of birth is Ogun so I don't know why my birth certificate reads Lagos.

Will I need to swear an affidavit regarding this or only attach a LOE for the discrepancy?

Thank you.
Are you going to make use of the birth certificate for the EE process? If not, there's no use adding unnecessary documents.

I have an Msc already. Just asking to see if there are other ways to improve score.

With 8777, I will be on 447, will loose 5point soon because of birthday.

The only option now is to get 8.5,8,7,7.5 in order to add 8more points to reach 450.
You can also consider TEF

Hello House,

My score is 468 and i am expecting to receive ITA by the next draw.

My question is, although i am yet to receive ITA, Is it advisable to still go ahead with my medicals now since i have been able to secure an appointment this week at IOM?.

That is, will it be a problem if medicals is ready but i'm yet to receive ITA?
Going by previous draw scores getting an ITA by the next draw should be certain, all things being equal. So you can go ahead with the medicals, it won't be a problem

Hello House,

I can not get a letter from my organization because i haven't stayed up to a year. I also do not want to meet my supervisor.

What docx can i have for evidence. Is employment letter, confirmation letter, pay slips and ID enough and the policy signed by the MD saying that staff under a year can't get the letter.

Thank you.
Yes, I think that is sufficient proof. You can also add your bank statement and highlight salary deposits for a couple of months

Unfortunately I have no expertise in that area. I applied under the federal skilled worker program. I am also not sure that there is a thread on Nairaland for the federal skilled trades process. If I do find any information I'll let you know. You can start by taking out time to read up on the requirements on the link I sent, see the areas you can provide documents and the areas you need to obtain documents.

Finally, if you feel strongly about this journey, GO FOR IT. Sometimes we get in the way of ourselves, we come up with excuses why and how not to. I delayed so much just by discouraging myself several times. It was either I was wondering where the funds were gonna come from or being mad that I wasn’t in my career path while looking out for NOC. There’s always gonna be something so you might as well just go for it. JUST DO IT. Don’t delay. Help just popped everywhere. Wes was paid by a friend, IELTS was paid by my colleague who encouraged me at the start just to give me a head-start, POF was given to me by mum and my application fees were paid by my bro. I only paid for my PCCs, Medicals, Passports, Notarization of Gift deed.
The past 4 years have been the toughest and I’m really looking forward to a new life. I feel like this is my new lease on life and I’m seizing this opportunity to reinvent myself, go after my desired career path and dream job, making new friends and build new relationships.
Please keep pushing whatever stage you’re at. God’s got you. Every day is a step closer to your dreams…..x

Hi Everyone in the House,

Please, I have two questions for those that have had a similar experience.

1. I have evaluated my National Diploma and BSc, am currently doing a Master in the USA now, Do I need to evaluate that master again? as in.. do I need to send it to WES to update my evaluation again since it is the USA?

If your ND and Bsc are enough to give you the points you need to get ITA then you can forgo evaluating the MSC for now.

2. Do police report needed to be addressed specifically to Canada Immigration and Citizenship? I was told from the police that they do not address the report to specific organization or agency but to a country that the report is to be used, in this case, it will indicate Canada. Please, is that what you all did? Is that acceptable?
The police report won't be addressed to any agency, they'll just write the name of the country you're using it for

Thanks very much.

Smart minds , please come to my rescue.

HR has changed his mind towards signing my Ref letter.

He now claims I should follow due process ,which is for me to apply through the Director Generals office before he can sign .

because the DG and some Directors will sign my request for a reference letter before HR can now sign the reference letter

This process will make my application "news" to the whole organization as it would pass from office to office in the admin section. although I can say I am applying for a visit and need reference letter.
That still won't change the fact that the whole office will know am applying to either visit /migrate to Canada.

please what suggestion can the house offer , can I just ask a director from a different dept sign it for me ? to avoid the plans been on the gossip News @9am in the office
I work in a govt organisation and this your description is exactly what I wanted to avoid and ended up happening anyway because I was asked to follow 'due process'. They still did oversabi ontop the letter and gave me a 'visit visa' letter claiming that they don't issue ref letters for permanent residence purposes. Before I could say 'Jack Robinson' people were asking me what I brought for them from my Waka. I ended up using a letter written on a plain sheet by a colleague I trust, attached her ID card and notarised. I am still waiting for PPR anyway so I cannot claim to be an authority on the matter, but if you check page 1, there are lots of PPR recipient who used the same format.

Hello good people, I just started my immigration process to Canada. I sincerely thank the faithful people in this forum for their kind contribution. I am very grateful for the insights from this platform.

I am just at the process of applying for WES and about to prepare for IELTS. Any offer of advice from good people on how to hasten the process because by August I will be a year older which should be a moment of joy but it won't be a moment of joy for calculating CRS score. There is no hastening with WES, they work at their own pace, usually faster than other bodies anyway. So you'll just have to wait it out. Although there is the issue of verification delays from your University, if you can find a way to 'hasten' that process that would be good for you

I have both BSc and MSc in communication at UNILAG. then on what occasions does WES require verification from the university. They require verification for every transcript they receive from the University

My spouse would not be evaluating his result but doing ielts. Then good people sincerely i dont have POF o. please how can I resolve this before my days start counting so as to know how to prepare before the time comes. You can get a family member to gift you the sum, this will be backed by a gift deed

Thank you very much people for your sincere answers. Anticipating your kind response.

For an activity driven dude like me, I'm just getting impatient with IQAS. I hate it that I can't seem to do anything. Its 81 days since my documents arrived there and no response. Although current trends suggests that I'll be attended to in the next 20/30 days, I'm just not having all of that. Plus having my IELTS in the bag is making it worse.

I called them yesterday and I was attended to by an apology of a customer care agent. I immediately moved to twitter to send the Government of Alberta (my future Government) a DM. I also sent IQAS mails.

My mind is already putting together a back up plan with WES, I'm thinking of going the 2 or more certificate way, my LLB and Law School but the money no be here, plus I'll lose points (454 to 447)which means soon-to-be Mrs A would have to write IELTS (another 68k).

I'm not even as agitated about my wedding that cojes up in 16 days time, as I am about IQAS. This Canada just has to be worth it. The city of Calgary is blessed for my sake! The legal services industry is blessed for me!

That we shall succeed is as sure as God reigns!

#AfternoonRant.
Patience brother, don't spend more money than you need to. If you start WES now, you can only hope that your ECA comes within 2-3 months in which time IQAS should have completed theirs. I did the same with my evaluation and the first one came the same week I submitted my application, it was pretty annoying. Just sit it out, look forward to your wedding and subsequent ITA in a couple of weeks.

Can I do my Medicals in Nigeria while my Wife and Son in Sweden do theirs there, will it been ok or I should ask them to come home so we do it together. I am the principal applicant. Does my wife and son also need the Police certificate or just me. Thank you
Yes you can, it's called 'upfront' medicals. However the validity period is one year so make sure that you're sure to receive ITA in a short while so that you don't have to redo it.

Good morning guys.

A quick question pls..
My cuz has OND, HND, and BSc. She started working as an Administrative Assistant after her OND, while she ran her HND as part time. She worked for two years plus before she resign to start her BSc full time. She's currently in service (NYSC).

1) Can she use the 2years experience post OND + 1 year NYSC to claim point for 3 years or more?

2) If she can, how can she prove the work experience? The company she worked for has no online presence, and she was paid by cash, so no evidence of payment but she can get reference letter from them.

Thanks.
1. Yes she can
2. Let them state she was paid in cash in the reference letter. Online presence is not the only way to prove a company exists. Let CIC do their job

OK, this is another dimension. Which one is U 25 again? Is it a tournament? Please, help me with a link.

I believe I can get a course by course evaluation from WES using the already submitted documents used for my ECA. I stand to be corrected.

As for reference letters, I know my targets already and yes, I have been kissing their toes grin
Lol, e reach to ask. I didn't even know what it was before it was mentioned. Only for me to check and I saw it on my own licence. I haven't really looked into it but when I saw it, I think what I got from the conversation was that you either can't drive certain types of vehicles in Canada or something like that. I'll look for the link on the other thread and modify this post when I find it.

Good with the WES evaluation, my profession requires a different agency again to do a course by course evaluation for my degrees, so that one is something for me to do.

Lol @kissing toes. Very important

Guys, I need help !!!

I just recently did my biometrics. What I need now is advice on how to take my mind off anything CIC/IRCC/PR/Canada/etc. I need to concentrate on my job as I am in the middle of a huge assignment. The whole PR thing won't allow me sleep. Everyday, I wake up wondering if I filled this or missed that; I think of 101 reasons why my application might be rejected: I did not upload stamped pages of my old passport, can't remember if I entered my ECA number, my letter of non indebtedness was dated a couple months before the date on my statement, etc. And then I start panicking and most times end up not achieving anything tangible that day and the cycle continues. This is madness. I can't deal!
This thing is hard mehn, I've updated PPR script and tire, the thing has almost become a diary. I think I have sort of tried to trick my mind into focusing on putting everything I can in place before the big move, that way whenever it comes what is left will be booking a seat on the flight. Maybe the trick is not taking your mind off it, maybe it's doing whatever you can to prepare for the journey ahead, that way you're not obsessing on the application itself. E.g have you checked that your driver's licence is good for when you get there?(someone mentioned something about graduated UU-25.) Do you have all your transcripts sorted if you require a course by course evaluation? What about reference letters for job applications over there, do you know who'll write them for you in your current place of work? Have you kissed their behinds enough?

Hello everyone, I am a newbie to this forum.
I have a question please.

I am a law graduate currently at Law school.(which began November 2018)
I graduated university in 2017 but my school certificate is January 2018. I started work at a Law firm in Feburary 2018- present (while I'm also in Law school atm). The problem i have however, is that i don't have a pay slip or account statements for payments because where I work pays me just stipends in cash.

My question is, how do I present this situation in my application process please?
You can ask them to state that you're paid in cash in your reference letter
