This interview is quite interesting and insightful.
There really are many truths here. This gentleman is more intelligent than I expected.

Several true points

1. Being about the handpicking of candidates in Oyo, Ekiti and Lagos.

2. His take on how it is not completely the fault of Lawmakers that they are given so much money.

You should see how people line up with all sorts of letters and excuses at constituency offices of Senators and Reps to collect money.
My Child needs school fees - N20,000
My daughter is sick - N50,000
bla bla bla - N30,000

Albeit not all our Senators or Rep are into sharing what they get with the people, a lot of them are under a lot of pressure to give money out to ordinary people and to their party men.
A lot of our people expect to receive money and if they don't, they'll say their Senator is not performing.

Until our economy becomes to improve and the needs of the common man begin to be met, this is the kind of politics that will continue in Nigeria.

The question is where is Justice as widely touted? Is ACN a Political fiefdom of one man or a democratic Party? They preach one thing, they practice another. For as long as Tinubu dictates the fortune of any member in the party, so long shall victory elude them at the polls. We are waiting for them!

I am fed up wath politicians who are non indigenes of Lagos State using the state as stepping stone to achieve their ambitions in their home states. Bamidele is a case in point. Fashola should be bold in choosing indigenes in all the political posts available. It is unfair to lagosians to allow these non indigenes bleeding the state dry before running back to their home states.

My party will fail in Ekiti – ACN senator

The Vice Chairman, Senate Committee on Works, Senator Bode Ola, has predicted failure for his party, Action Congress of Nigeria, in Ekiti State in the coming general elections.

Ola, whose victory at the Appeal Tribunal sacked Femi Kila of the Peoples Democratic Party from the Senate in August 2009, said this in Ado-Ekiti on Tuesday at a press conference on the list of senatorial candidates released by INEC.

The primary elections in Ekiti Central Senatorial District was contested by the Commissioner for Information and Strategy in Lagos State, Mr. Opeyemi Bamidele, former managing editor of The News magazine, Mr. Babafemi Ojudu, Mr. Dele Alake, and Bode Ola, who is the incumbent senator representing the district.

But the name of Senator James Kolawole Olagunju was displayed as the candidate for the ACN in Ekiti Central Senatorial District, though he is from Ekiti North Senatorial District.

Ola said that the party would fail if the forces backing one of the aspirants in Ekiti Central went ahead to foist the aspirant on the party.

The senator said that there was no primaries in Ekiti Central, noting that the rescheduled primaries did not hold because “some forces” did not want it to take place.

He said, “ I am at a loss over how they are treating me. We preach one man one vote in our party but they are practising another thing. Our leaders are trying to destroy the party in Ekiti here.

“I may take a legal action against the party for excluding me. People out there are also complaining that the party is not fair to me. Because of the way they are treating me, the ACN may likely lose this election. Their action portends a capital failure for the party.”

Ola said that he had discovered that some powerful forces in the party in the state preferred an aspirant and that was the reason they wanted to impose him on the people.

He said, “I have just spent one and half years at the Senate because I had to fight up to the Appeal Court before I reclaimed my mandate from the ousted Mr. Femi Kila. So, it will be unfair to me, heartless and ungodly if another person is given the ticket.

“I know some people are deliberately doing this to humiliate me and this will never work because I am confident that I am the best candidate. But if they exclude me unjustly, they will find themselves to blame after the coming elections.”

Another aspirant, Mr. Babafemi Ojudu, who reacted to the list in a telephone interview with our correspondent said that his name would be submitted as the candidate.

He said that the name of Olagunju was used as a dummy to afford the party the opportunity to resolve the crisis over the primaries.

Meanwhile, security has been beefed up at the ACN secretariat as the INEC released the list of candidates.

Our correspondent, who visited the secretariat in Ado-Ekiti on Tuesday, observed that more policemen had been deployed in the place, following the release of the list.

The Chairman of the party in the state, Chief Jide Awe, was attacked by some political thugs in the secretariat in the crisis that trailed the primaries.

Very True. I agree with you on the above.

This is a wonderful gesture by the government of Governor Fashola. I, however, doubt that any sustained increase in security can come from this. It is still the same Nigerian Police Force we are used to. They will vandalize the vehicles, cordon some of to serve their bosses, and use the rest to harass and extort the general populace.

He did get help from Tinubu in fighting his case at the Election Tribunal, however, just like the article says, if Tinubu gives you a coin to slot into a vending machine on the day you are hungry, he will make sure you pay him back in truckloads of hard currency. In other words, you become his b****. That's what will lead to the downfall of Kayode Fayemi of Ekiti, and Aregbesola of Osun. Fashola resisted and has begun to pay the price. Israeli found dead in Ekiti hotel
By Femi Makinde, Ado-Ekiti
Monday, 31 Jan 2011
Controversy is surrounding the death of an Israeli identified as Mr. Dani Lamdan in a popular hotel in the Ekiti State capital, Ado Ekiti.

The Israeli was found dead in his hotel room on Tuesday.

A top security source told THE PUNCH that the deceased and his compatriot, identified as Begerano, were invited by a company to execute some projects in the Ekiti State. He said employees of the hotel were shocked to discover that their guest had died inside the room.

However, Begerano was said to have escaped from the hotel when he discovered that Lamdan was dead. The source said the hotel workers became worried because the deceased neither went to the restaurant to have breakfast nor ordered for room service as he used to do.

THE PUNCH learnt that when calls to his room were not answered, workers on duty went to check the room and discovered Lamdan’s lifeless body. The discovery, it was learnt, led to a pandemonium in the hotel.

As they made arrangements to convey the remains of the deceased to the mortuary and to contact his family, the source said the workers were further dazed that Begerano could no longer be found in the hotel. Nobody was willing to speak at the hotel when journalists visited the place on Friday.

The source added that it was difficult to trace Lamdan’s family as there was no passport or aliens’ card in his bag.

“We are not sure if he was an illegal immigrant because he also did not have Immigration endorsement. Some immigrants don’t take their passports or resident permit around because of the fear that they could be stolen. But they do carry endorsement cards given by the Nigeria Immigration service.

“But this man did not have any of these documents and his colleague had also escaped,” he said.

The Police Public Relations Officer in Ekiti State, Mr. Mohammed Jimoh, confirmed the incident in a telephone interview with our correspondent on Sunday.

He said Lamdan’s corpse had been deposited at the mortuary of the University Teaching Hospital, Ado-Ekiti. The PPRO said the report showed that the deceased died of natural causes and no foul play was suspected.

He said the command had contacted the Force Headquarters in Abuja, which would inform the Israeli Embassy. Also, a source at the hospital, who corroborated the comamnd’s claims, said the autopsy report showed that Lamdan had a history of diabetes.

THE PUNCH learnt that embassy officials and the widow of the deceased arrived in Ado-Ekiti on Friday to move the corpse to Israel for burial.

Meanwhile, a 25-year-old man, Mr. Ojo Olowookere, has been found dead inside an abandoned well in Ado-Ekiti. Olowookere was discovered in the well at the back of his residence along Ilawe Road around Olaoluwa Muslim Grammar School.

The deceased’s parents were said to have visited hospitals, police stations when they did not see their son on Thursday. But a girl who went to the well to fetch water was said to have seen human legs in the well and raised the alarm which attracted people to the scene.

Some people swiftly contacted firemen, who then removed the body from the well. Our correspondent learnt that there were bloodstains on the head of the deceased when he was removed. This raised suspicion that he was probably killed and dumped in the well.

Olowookere’s remains have been taken to the mortuary. The spokesman of the state polcie command confirmed the development, adding that it was being investigated.

Israeli contractor dies mysteriously in hotel
Monday, 31 January 2011 00:00 Remi Koleosho

Remi Koleoso, Abuja
AN Israeli, Mr. Daniel Lamdan, was at the weekend found dead in his hotel room at the Ekiti State Government-owned Fountain Hotel in Ado-Ekiti, the state capital.
The Nigerian Compass reliably gathered that the deceased was a security expert, and arrived in the state about a week ago on the invitation of the government on an “official assignment.”

Lamdan was discovered dead in his room by one of the hotel attendants.

After the discovery, the hotel management was said to have informed the state police command, who removed the remains of the Israeli to the mortuary of the state-owned University Teaching Hospital, Ado-Ekiti.

On hearing the news of the incident, our correspondent rushed to the hotel, where he was told that Governor Kayode Fayemi and a chieftain of the Action Congress of Nigeria (ACN) in the state had visited.

Efforts by our reporter to find out the nature of Lamdan’s assignment were fruitless, as no one was ready to speak on the incident.

Confirming the death in Ado-Ekiti yesterday, the Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO), an Assistant Superintendent of Police (ASP), Mohammed Jimoh, said the Israeli was in the state for an “official assignment” and was found dead in his hotel room.

He said: “I learnt the deceased came to the state on an official assignment before he was found dead in his hotel room at Fountain Hotels, Ado-Ekiti.

“The command has informed the Force Headquarters to contact the Israeli Embassy in Nigeria to come and identify him. His remains have been deposited at the mortuary of the University Teaching Hospital, Ado-Ekiti.
“No arrest has been made since the police did not suspect any foul play. We are still investigating the circumstances that surrounded his death.”
The Chief Medical Director of the hospital, Dr. Patrick Adegun, while confirming the incident, explained that the late Lamdan died of heart failure.

“We performed autopsy on the deceased and we found out that he died of heart failure, which is natural. We equally found out that the deceased had a  history of long time diabetes.
“After the autopsy, his remains have been released to the Israeli embassy and his family,” Adegun disclosed.
Contacted, the Senior Special Assistant to the Governor on Media, Alhaji Mojeed Jamiu, said he was out of the state on official assignment, and was not aware of the incident.
His words: “I am not aware of the incident. You are just informing me. I have travelled out Ado-Ekiti since Thursday, January 27 to Lagos and Abuja on official engagements.”

Workers protest as Alpha Beta moves into Lagos councils

http://www.compassnewspaper.com/NG/index.php?option=com_content&view=article&id=74167:workers-protest-as-alpha-beta-moves-into-lagos-councils&catid=43:news&Itemid=799

Saturday, 29 January 2011 01:37 Victor Oriola

LOCAL Government employees in Lagos State are currently up in arms against the incursion into their operations by Alpha Beta Consulting, a tax collecting firm believed

to be owned by former Governor of the state, Bola Ahmed Tinubu.

The workers have already printed posters aimed at sensitising their members against what they called the extension into councils, Tinubu's alleged fleecing of the

Babatunde Raji Fashola's administration through the company.

The Nigerian Compass on Saturday had sometime in 2009 reported its finding that the addresses of the directors of the company that were submitted to the Corporate Affairs Commission (CAC) were fictitious.

One was discovered to be an open market stall at the centre of the Agege market, another was the residence of a different person at FESTAC town, while the third at Anthony Village could simply not be traced as at then.

The tax company is believed to be receiving a monthly commission of about N2.1 billion from the Internally Generated Revenue of the state.

The workers believe that the company has been given the go-ahead by Governor Fashola to start collecting revenues for the 20 local Government Councils and the 37 Local

Council Development Areas of the state.

This, the council workers have vowed to resist with the last blood in their veins.

Authoritative sources told the Nigerian Compass on Saturday that the crisis engendered by the introduction of Alpha Beta into the councils would soon blow into the

open.

The Nigeria Compass on Saturday learnt that the National Union of Local Government Employee (NULGE) is already resisting what they termed an attempt to take over the

revenue collection of the local governments by fiat.

Posters denouncing the encroachment of Alpha Beta were on Thursday placed opposite the Vice -Chairman's office in Mushin Local Government, while those of other

councils and LCDAs will soon follow.

The posters read, among others: “National Union of Local Government Employee (NULGE) says no to Alpha Beta. There is a secret move to plant a consortium known as Alpha

Beta in all the council areas in Lagos State for revenue collection. NULGE says no to contracting out of revenue to Alpha Beta or any consortium for that matter”.

In Mushin Local Government Area, a source who craves anonymity alleged that the encroachment by Alpha Beta, may cripple the activities of the councils and the LCDAs.

“What else do they want us to do? Last year alone, by November, we had remitted N150 million to the coffers of Mushin council. What else do these people want? the

source queried.

Another source in Somolu Local Government claimed that the incursion of Alpha Beta into the local governments was part of the deal that made it possible for Governor

Fashola to get the second term ticket.

“ Yes, it a deal signed, sealed and delivered between Tinubu and his godson, Fashola. It is to consolidate Tinubu's hold on the state's resource which had been the

basis of his disagreement with Fashola in the last two years.

“You can see that all those who supported Governor Fashola during his crisis with Tinubu are being edged out of the system. I don't know why the governor is helpless.

All those who supported him are being maltreated without him trying to save them”

The Deputy -Governor, Sarah Sosan, Senator Olorunnimbe Mamora, Senator Munir Muse, Hon. Babatunde Ogala, Enoch Ajiboso and Sesan Olanrewaju have either been removed

from their positions or are on their way out after serving out their terms.

Like the Eti-Osa people who succeeded in frustrating the collection of tolls on Lekki/Epe expressway momentarily last year, the NULGE, an umbrella body of local

government staff has vowed to ensure that the Alpha Beta is withdrawn from the Lagos council areas.

“This is an injustice, I don't know what this man wants again. He has cornered everything in Lagos State for himself and his cronies. What else does he want?” queried

a NULGE source last night.

PUNCH NEWSPAPER

Aggrieved aspirant predicts ACN defeat in Ekiti
By Femi Makinde, Ado-Ekiti
Friday, 14 Jan 2011

A Senatorial aspirant in Ekiti South, Mr. Wale Adebola, has said that the ruling Action Congress of Nigeria might lose the state to the opposition parties if the party refused to address the alleged imposition of candidates in the primaries.

Adebola said this at a press conference in Ikere-Ekiti on Thursday.

He expressed shock that Mr. Tony Adeniyi who came second was declared the winner of the senatorial primaries in Ekiti South.

He called on the party to put its house in order in order to avoid the negative consequences of working against the popular wish of the people.

He said, “I learnt on good authority that the opposition parties are already strategising and rejoicing over our inability to practice the principles and justice that we preach and by extension, what this portends is possible disintegration or abysmal loss in coming elections.”

But, Adeniyi, who denied being imposed on the party, said that he worked for the party and the leadership of the party in the five wards in the district compensated him by zoning the seat to him.

He said that his emergence as the ACN flag-bearer would ensure that the people of the senatorial district vote en masse for the party.

He denied the allegation that he was imposed on the party by Governor Kayode Fayemi.
I thought zoning referred to a geographical location. It seems it has become a person thing.

"The Governor zoned it to me" . . . abi?? grin grin grin grin

Below is a user comment to this news article from Ekiti.com

Oluwalose Ajayi  at   2011-01-15 07:09:04    Wrote:

Please let Fayemi hear this. Like Gideon in Judges 8, God overthrew his enemies and gave him victory, but instead of glorifying God, he is playing harlot with the power. For this reason, says the Lord of hosts, the power shall be a snare unto him and his household. Tell him to beware and give honour to whom it's due. He should allow justice and equity to prevail in Ekiti, otherwise God is ready to take the kingdom Wy from him and give to his neighbour. He has ears. let him hear what the Spirit of God is saying to the unjust and corrupt leaders in Ekiti.
Politics2011: So Begins The Fall Of The ACN In The Southwest! by jensinmi(op): 10:08pm On Jan 15, 2011
We have been duped, hoodwinked, taken for a ride. We were warned, but we refused to listen

Over the years, we sat still and believed their premise
-That the PDP were evil and that they were good.
-That the PDP was corrupt and they were pure.
-That the PDP did not believe in democracy, but that they (ACN) were the voice of the people.

But like it is said in Yorubaland, If lies have a 20 year headstart in the race, the truth will always reach and overtake it.

Our faith in the ACN in the South-West rose with the profile of one and only one man - Babatunde Raji Fashola.

We saw him as an example of good governance, and wrongly believed that everyone in ACN would turn out to be like him.

Alas, we were wrong.

So,  here we are full circle, and the  we glance to our backs and see the truth fast approaching.

Fashola is now going through fire. The owners of the party have decided to spare him since he cannot be touched without the people in Lagos revolting. But others haven't been so lucky.

We watched as Lagos ACN primaries turned into a step-down and appointee affair.
- First it was Senator Olorunnibe Mamora - Arguably one of the best Senators in Nigeria, who was told to step down so that a relatively unknown fellow could take his place. It is said that the devil you know is better than the angel you don't know; however, I ask, is the angel you know better than the devil you don't know??

- Next, Fashola's deputy governor is already on the cutting table, soon to be dropped.

- Third, we watched as Remi Tinubu was handed one Senatorial Seat ticket.

- Fourth, Sade Tinubu, was then handed a ticket to the House of Representatives

- Fifth, Her husband who is from Ikogosi-Ekiti was handed his own House of Representative Ticket in Ekiti.

And all this time, we wonder what happened to internal democracy?? What happened to party primaries?? What is the meaning of "Consensus Candidate"??

If a party in power chooses unpopular candidates, does that no indicate a willingness to rig at the general election??

----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
We then go to Oyo state, where Senator Ajimobi won the gubernatorial ticket without the primary taking place. All in the name of consensus candidate. The assembly and representative seats were handed out to chosen individuals.

----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Let us now move to my state. Ekiti State.

We clamored, fought and kicked over the governance of Segun Oni of the PDP, A man who came 3rd in the 2007 primary. A man who we know was rigged into power. We hoped that Kayode Fayemi of the ACN ( A man who also did not win his party primary) would be our saving grace.

He came into power a few months ago and has begun to show his true colors.

First on the list was the Ekiti Senatorial Tickets. Only one of the 3 belonged to ACN. That was the seat held by Senator Bode Ola - A man who fought a battle with Femi Kila of the PDP for more than 2 years at the election Tribunal to recover his mandate.

The party primary for the Ekiti North and South positions was supposedly conducted, and was followed by outcry from the other contestants.
On the same day, the Ekiti Central position primary was supposed  to be held, but was said to have been disrupted.
Two days later, the same fate befell the Assembly and Representative primaries. Gov Fayemi was accused of sending his own list of candidates for declaration.

As of today, which is the INEC deadline, the party is yet to conclude these primaries yet a list is supposedly on the way to INEC right now.

It is now said that the Ekiti Central Senatorial ticket has been handed over to Babafemi Ojudu by Gov. Fayemi, despite the fact that the incumbent has only held that seat for 18 months, and would very likely had won the primary had it been held.

This brings us to the questions

-What exactly do we do with the ACN??

-Are we the yoruba people supposed to trade in our shackles of the PDP and accept that of ACN, Tinubu, Fayemi, and Bisi Akande?? Or are we to begin searching elsewhere for our "saviors"??

In conclusion,

We, the people of Ekiti, are a difficult people, and we will not be bound by those that wish to enslave us for their own selfish purposes.

We have put our faith in man. And we have failed.

Ekiti North and South Senatorial Candidates have been rigged-in and imposed.

House of Rep and State Assembly seats are still being postponed, fought about, disrupted, and every other thing in between.

iit is more than 21billion

7M*3000 = 21 000 000 000 000

a trillion has 12 zeros

hence the figure 21 Trillion is correct

any back to the news

Ibb sef no get that kind money. how much more atiku
@Blacksta - Big Boss.

I wan make small correction
7million times 100 is 700 million.
7 million times 1,000 is 7 billion.
7 million times 5,000 delegates is 35 billion.
and if it is 3,000 delegates, it is 21 billion.

I doubt that Atiku has this kind of money to throw around though. It might just be propaganda.

How many users in the U.S.A have 4g phones even?? Apart from the HTC Evo and Samsung Epic, what other 4g phones are there. Even the Iphone 4 is not 4g capable.

I feel you man even though am torn between 2 candidates, am a fan of Ribadu, because i believe with enabling environment and the power required he would do exploits, i kinda believe he is one who will not be shoved around by God father or any other of their kind, my other choice is buhari, cos i have come to know that what most Nigerians want is change, we want uninterrupted power supply, security, good roads, huge boost and investment the the agricultural sector, great and grave punishment for corrupt politicians, and whoever can give us all this irrespective of tribe or religion, why not.
I am a fan of Ribadu too and i think he represents the new generation we need in Nigerian politics.
Over the last 24hrs though,  I've been asking myself one question;

I know Tinubu will still go to prison one day. Can Ribadu send Tinubu to prison?? I know Buhari has the guts and balls to do that. Ribadu, however?? I'm not as certain.

I have to start considering switching allegiance to Buhari.

I am shocked at hearing mamora was asked to step down, just reading here on this thread. I have consitently said although PDP is a terrible party, the alternative which is ACN is just a lesser evil as the lion of Bourdiloun is a dicatator. There are no primaries in Lagos ACN, Tinubu handpicks whomever he wishes just like he did to the same BRF people are singing his praise.

BRF did perform in his first 2 years but that doesn not negate the fact that he was selected undemocratically. Tinubu is having his time and such people dont last long in terms of relevance. He shot himself in the foot by wanting to install his wife into the senate.

However, if we are to face fact Tinubu is the major financier of the ACN nationwide albeit with stolen Lagos funds. In politics whoever controls the cash controls the people and that is the reality of Politics. Most of those Tinubu is asking to stepdown never won any primaries themselves and were handpicked by him so whatever goes around comes around.

It is only a matter of time before the shepard goes to lead his flock to the promise land.
@ Lagosboy: Na wa o bros. So you too don jasi ACN scope. ACN rarely hold primaries o, and when they do, the results don't stand.

For example, How many of you know that Kayode Fayemi did not win the 2007 ACN gubernatorial primary in Ekiti State. Now,  they are trying the same hanky panky over there with some of the seats available.

That was what they did in Ekiti in 2007 that lead to the decamping of several people to PDP, including Ayo Arise, who later won the Ekiti North Senatorial Seat under PDP. Mr. Arise was poised to get the ACN Gubernatorial ticket then. Anyway, The guy is a thug sha so few people shed any tears for his loss.

Arrangee and Appointee is the name of their game now o.

PDP is full of thieves. ACN is made up of a lot of people who want to steal, as soon as the chance comes along.

Difference is we have confirmed the PDP's position as thieves. Only time will betray the ACN. Only time.

See. These people are all animals of opportunity. I posted the following some days ago on a new thread.

jensinmi:
For the past few weeks, it seems no day goes by without a news article regarding the Ekiti Central Senatorial Seat.

The seat is currently held by Senator Festus Olabode Ola (ACN) who was declared winner by the court of Appeal in Ilorin in June 2009, After spending over 2 years in court to unseat Femi Kila of the PDP.

The appeal court declared Senator Bode Ola rightful winner of the April 2007 elections in that Senatorial district.

3 other contestants are now striving with the current senator to represent the Action Congress in the upcoming elections for that position. They are

Opeyemi Bamidele - Current Lagos state commissioner for Information and Strategy
Babafemi Ojudu - former Managing Editor of THE NEWS Magazine
Dele Alake - Former Lagos Commissioner of Information and Strategy

The questions in the minds of so many Ekiti people are

1. Why so much interest in this particular seat??
2. Why does it seem that these 3 associates of Asiwaju Tinubu have suddenly migrated to Ekiti all of a sudden to contest for a seat that very few cared about 4 years ago??
3. Why is there almost no similar interest in the Ekiti North and Ekiti South Senatorial Seats currently held by the PDP??
Is ACN different from PDP in Ekiti State, you ask??

I say is ACN different from PDP at all levels??
The only difference I see is PDP is in Power now. ACN aren't. When they get there, we will all weep because they are full of people who will put their self-interest above the Nation's.

Tinubu has turned ACN into a party of his proxies and pawns.
PoliticsRe: Remi Tinubu Set For Senate by jensinmi(m): 9:38pm On Jan 11, 2011
luvinhubby: See the bigger picture, "TINUBU NEEDS THE MONEY".
After 4yrs in Senate, she will come back and contest for Lagos governorship post under ACN with a CV that will include wife of governor and a "one time senator of the federal republic" and Tinubu`s overiding influence in ACN, she wins.
Tinubu wants to keep Lagos and it`s purse under his control so as to "enthrone" himself as the leader of the yoruba race after Awolowo and Pa Adesanya and he needs Lagos state as a financial fountain that will generate the funds that he needs to make him a regional political monster, feeding on our taxes to become a political demi-god in Lagos.
@ luvinhubby: MAY GOD BLESS YOU A BILLION TIMES FOR SEEING THE BIG PICTURE

In all honesty, This is bullcrap.

The ACN is now officially the Tinubu show. This is getting out of hand.

First of all, Tinubu is pushing his wife into the Senate. There are talks that one of his children will go into assembly. And that one of his inlaws is headed there too. Next, we have Ekiti, where all his boys have invaded to get positions. Another of Tinubu's in-laws is running for Rep in Ekiti. Why?? Cause the Tinubus have so much to offer?? Nope. Because of GREED. And an incessant need to get power by all means.

Look at the Ekiti Central Senatorial seat being contested with the incumbent by 3 of Tinubu's associates. The ACN primary was disrupted by thugs and other elements, ending in the cancellation of the exercise. What do we expect in the general elections then if the primary can't go smoothly without incidence.

Look at Lagos, there are rumors that all those that supported Fashola during his dispute with Tinubu will get edged out. The Deputy Governor will most likely be replaced. Some performers like Senator Mammora have been told to step down for others. This is getting out of hand.

With the widespread effort on the part of the Tinubus to take over all aspects of the party, and render anyone within who refuses to bend to their will an outsider, it becomes obvious that this Bola Ahmed Tinubu is preparing himself to become our new taskmaster in Southwest Nigeria,

There's no point in trading our shackles of the PDP for shackles of ACN.

I laughed when I saw an article in Ekiti about the governor planning to raise internal revenue. This is a good idea, I thought. However, I won't be surprised if Alpha Beta Corporation (supposedly belonging to Tinubu) is awarded the job.

Enough with my rantings o. Sorry if it became incoherent along the way. Na as e pain man reach, Na so e go talk am.

Haha. True. Inadvertently, some of that money will trickle down to some of the common folks on the street who will not hesitate to deceive the Senate and House members about their allegiance come April 2011. "NIGERIAN TRICKLE DOWN ECONOMICS"

And to those in PUNCH Newspaper, there are currently only 84 PDP Senators in the Senate. Therefore, the 84 you stated in your article is a bit excessive.

Atiku's long lost Yoruba brother, or his non-evil twin, creeping up in the background.
@ PhysicsHD

That is Babafemi Ojudu the Former Managing Editor of THE NEWS Magazine aka Mr. Chop and Clean Mouth.

He's one of the "Tinubu people" from Lagos who have invaded Ekiti to let us know how much they love us. He is interested in becoming the Senator for Ekiti Central District.

Now that Bode Ola has wrestled the seat from the hands of the PDP's Femi Kila, they have magically appeared to dispossess him of the seat.

@ kcjazz

Good idea about a private school changing to a 4-day system. However, several things must be taken into consideration.

1. The proprietors will have to agree and defend the fact that this is only being done for one reason and one only - To reduce costs and raise profits. I don't know to what extent customers parents will consider this a good enough reason to shift from the conventional 5 day system.

2. Will it work?? I doubt it. Nigerian Private schools have now become day care centers. I spent some of my time last year in Nigerian sitting around at a private school in Abuja. You'll be surprised at what parents say about their children. Most want the school to keep them for as long as possible. Some won't mind if the kids stayed till bedtime at night and just came back home.

A lot of parents now see their children as burdens. They will tell you they have to work and don't have time to spend on child-related issues. The proprietor of this school told me that atttitude was quite common among parents.

This is one of the reasons for the explosion of boarding schools in Nigeria in the 90s.

What I'm saying is that PARENTS WON'T AGREE TO A 4-DAY SCHOOL WEEK.
