Sam Adeyemi?? Isn't that the guy on that AIT show Success, Power? Who keeps talking about how people should take their own future into their hands? I have to say I gbadun that guy. He is different from the rest of these Nigerian Pastors who are always preaching about paying tithe, plus fasting, and prayer as the solutions to all our problems. Whatever happened to works?? Whatever happened to Action. I'm interested in this march o. Now if only more churches joined. I hope this catches on. Imagine if some of those larger churches like Redeemed organized all their members in Abuja to March on one day. Won't that create a scene. I like this very much. The churches in Nigeria all sit back with pastors preaching about the heaven and all while people are hear on earth suffering for reasons that are in their power to change. |
dedeike:@ dedeike. Actually, the plane is valued at less than N8.5 million . Not including shipping and maintenance costs. |
INCREDIBLE!!!! This is what happens when people who failed school are given jobs as newspaper reporters. 1. The Cessna 172 is not a jet. Not even close. It is a four-seater propeller airplane. Not that I'm trying to take anything away from the piloting skills of this lawmaker. I'm just saying that this in NOT a JET. So, why does this foolish reporter keep referring to it as a jet. Jets run on Avation fuel, Are much bigger, faster, and altogether contribute almost 25% of the world's carbon emissions due to how uneconomical their use is. This is a photo of what a Cessna 172 looks like https://www.acepilotsacademy.com/uploaded_files/aircraft_image/48f2f461f4067DSC_4003_Cessna_172L_Skyhawk_N7132Q_left_side_landing_l.jpg 2. This lawmaker's comments about it being cheaper to build air fields and how more Nigerians should look into airplanes as means of transport are EXTREMELY FOOLISH!! While some propeller planes may run on petrol, most planes run on aviation fuel, which is expensive and uneconomical. Does he know how many people we have in Nigeria?? How will more airstrips benefit us in getting most individuals from place to place in JETS, not propeller planes like this o. JETS. That actually cost far more to operate and are designed for carrying large numbers of people. Both the reporter and the Lawmaker are Nimrods. The should shut up and let us hear word jor, |
mikeansy:@mikeansy The highlighted are things that both the Nigerian Military and Government have done to a far greater extent. Let's not kid ourselves. Nobody has any moral ground to advice anyone else on morality regarding this issue. I believe we should not use violence to settle our disagreements. But I have no moral ground to tell people not to use violence to protect their children and their children's futures. |
@ Cristalz Thanks jo. They went out and bought several High Definition trucks and HD cameras to show to FIFA on inspection of their facilities. They were now displaying that stuff on their station. These are the same Idiots whose shows all look terrible on Standard Definition. All the shows without exception - Focus Nigeria (Which I love btw), and all the news shows. Bad lighting, Horrible sound ( haven't they heard of BOOM mics), Shaky backgrounds, and other Nonsense. I'm tired of them. At best, AIT looks amateurish and by that I even mean a Nigerian Amateurish o not western Amateur. And now they want to start deceiving us with HD equipment. Who will watch HD in Nigeria self. With which tv and which HD receiver. Nonsense. Chei. Still don't believe I stayed home today to watch this match and I have my final exam for University next week. I CURSE AIT. Shior. Shior. |
I'm glad the next match will be in Tunis. That way I won't have to rely on AIT (African Incompetence Televison) to watch it. They cut out just before kick off to music videos. Then they lost signal altogether. Came back for 4 minutes in second half and then lost signal till the match was over and players shaking hands. And next thing you know they are putting on a beauty pageant. Like that is what people want to watch. I seriously don't know whose idea it was to give them broadcasting rights to the FIFA 2010 world cup. I think SuperSports would have been a better choice any time of day. |
MrCrackles:@ Mr. Crackles Why are you crying now? ![]() |
I know I shouldn't have expected anything good out of this stupid AIT that I have on Hotbird. I stayed home all day today primarily to watch this match and now they show me pre-match coverage and national anthem and then they cut to ruggedy baba and other Music Videos. Is it not said that there is a time for everything. This is Bull****. DAARSAT is useless. |
F*** AIT F*** THEM!!! I should have known not to expect anything good from those useless idiots. They show pre-game info and then move on to pitch showing stupid advertisements. Kick off is about to start and these idiots change to music videos. They are useless. F*** DAARSAT. |
A few years ago I ran into a website belonging a woman making a documentary film about the happenings in the Niger Delta. Ever since, I followed the site closely. Some time ago, I ran into the woman's name at Nigeriaworld.com. Then, She was one of five American filmakers and cameramen arrested by the Nigerian Army (JTF) and SSS for espionage and held for several days. Well, after the intervention of the American government, they were all finally released. Not so long after, they put up a fund on their new movie website asking for donations to help complete the movie. It appears they had far exceeded their budget due to the unforeseen circumstances that took place in Nigerian, in addition to having some of their master copies "seized" by the Nigerian government. Anyway, the film is out. It premiered on the 4th of April 2009 at the Full Frame Documentary Film Festival in Durham, NC. The Woman's name is Sandy Cioffi. I haven't had a chance to see the full film yet although I'd seen clips from the film as far back as two years ago. Unforunately, I realized something. Despite all these people have been through while making this movie and all publicity generated from their arrest in Nigeria, it appears very few people have heard about or are paying attention to it. I began to wonder. Is it because it deals with corruption? Is it because it deals with the World's Largest Oil companies? Or is it just because it tells the story of people suffering in Africa, and that world is tired of hearing such? Anyway, forgive my ramblings. I just felt the need to draw attention to the movie. The Name of the Movie is "SWEET CRUDE." - www.sweetcrudemovie.com _______________________________________________________________________________________________ SWEET CRUDE: A FILM ABOUT THE NIGER DELTA In a small corner of the most populous country in Africa, billions of dollars of crude oil flow under the feet of a desperate people. Immense wealth and abject poverty stand in stark contrast. The environment is decimated. The issues are complex, the answers elusive. The documentary film Sweet Crude tells the story of Nigeria’s Niger Delta. The region is seething and the global stakes are high. But in this moment, there’s an opportunity to find solutions. Fhemmmy:@ Fhemmy Doni Doni ni e. |
@ tpiah Sorry to butt in o. But 73.4% of the people in that jail had not been convicted of any crime. I guess that means they may not all be convicts. |
@ topic. I think this discussion is all good. However, what worries me is the belief of some individuals that the constitution should be swept under the carpet anytime the president or the nation wishes. I think this is very dangerous and sets a precedence. Yar A'dua has shown consistently that the Nigerian Constitution means nothing to his government. Is it not the same constitution that states that an election result MUST only be announced by the REC in charge of the location where it was carried out ![]() Is it not the same constitution that states that all votes MUST be collated at the registered collation center?? Yet we have seen in recent months that People continue to go against the constitution and do things they wish. This is one of the problems with this country. People are unable to follow rules. A lot of my people are perpetual "Line-Crossers." My point is this. Most people may not care for Federal Character, but in that case wouldn't the right thing be to change the constitution. Is right for Nigerians to give Mr. President permission to usurp the constitution whenever he sees fit, not forgetting it is this same constitution that attempts to protect us from the predators in our midst. For example, if the constitution says only the winner of party elections at the primary can contest for a governatorial election, is it ok for a president to then step in and do whatever he wants? Or, if the constitution says someone found guilty of Embezzlement/ Fraud (i.e Igbinedion) cannot be allowed to run for office again, is it ok for someone to come out and quash that part of the constitution as they see fit? If u don't like the laws/ constitution, change them. But never let people believe that your laws/ constitutional articles mean nothing o and can be broken at will because in the end, for every mile you give them, they will surely take 10. I agree with blacksta's comments on this. Thank you all. |
For anyone in the Middle east or with a Nilesat or Arabsat Dish, The match will show on Al Jazeera Sports 1 (JSC1). |

Here's the link to the second part of the segment, which includes a discussion with Sandy Cioffi, the Director of the documentary "Sweet Crude" about the Niger - Delta. Some of you might remember about a year ago when a group of American journalists / filmmakers were detained for several days by the Nigerian military and SSS for espionage. Sandy Cioffi and her team were the one's involved in that incident. @ post and proudly9ja proudly9ja:Looking at it that way, I guess he may have thought a new government like Yar Adua's would be a perfect opportunity for him to backtrack and jump on some of those OBJ boys that were beyond reach during OBJ's time. Unfortunately, now we'll never know. |
zomby:@ Zomby First of all, I don't think it is fair for you to say he is a thief only because his wife and children are not begging on the street. That is not fair to the man at all. Secondly, have u seen how much top government officials earn? We were talking about House of Rep members taking home about N8 million per month in another thread. I don't know but do u have any idea how much an EFCC chairman gets paid per month. Like i said, I don't know but I'm sure it wasn't and is still not "regular change". So, that he is still able to still feed his family after working several years under Obasanjo does not in itself suggest or prove he is a thief. It would be better if people could get some evidence of money he stole and then call him a thief rather than the excuse you put forward. Not an attack on you o. I'm just saying. Peace. |
@ ode remo ode remo:E BAN KI (GBE) OLE , OLE OLE OLE OLE One day bush meat go catch the Hunter. ![]() |
@ poster Don't mind that foolish boy jo. Useless human being. I'm still waiting to buy and eat some of the chicken from his $10 million poultry project. I laugh when people come out and tell me that Fayose was one of those "selectively" prosecuted by Ribadu. It is a dis-service to Nigerians for anyone to say that Fayose was a victim. "Selective" or no "selective" prosecution he was and is still guilty of embezzling public funds. That he is a free man today just goes to show how silly the EFCC and the Yar Adua government are and how lowly they think of the Nigerian populace. |
@ Fhemmy Fhemmmy:He would be on the floor of his bedroom wherever he is right now Rolling with laughter. I haven't laughed this hard in a while. Unfortunately, this story would have been extremely funny if it wasn't so SAD. Chai. I don die!!!!!! |
@ post. Not to talk too much sha. I would really love to know how this helps NIGERIA move closer to Yar Adua's Vision 20-20 as he says. Wish I could ask Mr. President to mention 3 ways this moves us closer. |
