Now that I've said that. It's Donation time for all involved. We all gotta help each other out in times of need.

If you don't mind dropping info or something like that. I can donate small cash to help you get back on track with business sha.

It won't be much o. Maybe just between $50 or $100. If you are lucky enough to find one or two other people on nairaland to throw in something extra, it might just be enough to kick-start business.

Hate to see another marketer quit just because of nonsense like this.

Seems my initial post magically disappeared so, I'll split it into 2 parts. 1st part.

@ Initialize

You have my deepest condolences my brother.

I would like to commend you on the job you have done so far with working on your business. From startup to current level.
I also want you to know that in business, just like life, there will always be ups and downs, highs and lows. Don't ever let that cause you to turn back.
Even me as sharp Naija man that arrived in the U.S.A 2 months ago, I got defrauded 3 weeks ago by 2 oyinbo men of the sum of $400 in what was supposed to be a business opportunity for me. But like I said. This happens.

THERE IS ONE AND ONLY ONE THING THAT IS IMPORTANT. LEARN FROM YOUR MISTAKE.

LEARN FROM YOUR MISTAKES.

ONLY BY SO DOING CAN YOU AVOID SUCH IN THE FUTURE. DON'T LET SUCH A THING REPEAT ITSELF.

You know what they say - Fool me once, shame on you. Fool me twice, shame on me.

@ Poster

Just cut your losses and buy a good desktop with a pretty good Graphics card. You can get that for half the price of a Gaming Laptop. It will perform two times better than a laptop that's double its price. If you really want a good gaming laptop, Not nonsense branded as a good laptop, you can start your budget from N220,000. For N100,000 you can build a good desktop with a reasonable Graphics card like the ATI Radeon HD4870 and it will flog any laptop that costs 220k.
You could try used laptops sha. But you do all those at your own risk.

Peace bro.

Just talking from what is considered basic knowledge in common circles.

That's how we get our Gaming Systems at Platinum Games.

Indigenous Hip Hop artists, 9ice, recently confirmed that his new international CD version will sell for N2, 000
http://www.jaguda.com/2010/07/15/9ice-new-album-to-sell-for-n2000/

Folks. I think the key word here is International CD Version. It makes sense that if this gets sold abroad i.e on Amazon.com that it won't sell for the equivalent of N150. Just like Sunny Ade or Lagbaja albums on Amazon don't sell for N150 or N250 equivalent.

The International Version will be sold for the equivalent of $13.00.

Obviously,  this won't be the most widespread version on sale in Nigeria.

PS: Let's not forget that the international versions of these CDs have better packaging, info booklets and other perks included in them. I have several Sunny Ade and Lagbaja albums I got from Amazon.com. The Lagbaja ones have distinct packaging, a full lyrics booklet with translations, and even reasons behind and motivation for each song.

PoliticsRe: Jurors In Tears As They Clear Nigerian Student Of despoil by jensinmi(m): 11:28pm On May 27, 2010
The guy has my deepest condolences. However, I honestly do believe there's a lesson to be learnt from this.

I've learnt this one thing from my Mother

A man MUST not sleep with every woman that throws herself/ offers herself to him.

This is NUCKING FUTS!!! Am I the only one that gets this point?? Is it normal for a guy to take home a woman he doesn't know and just met for a few minutes in a club. Is that responsible?? Why are some men this spoilt??
Look at this scenario:
You're busy doing "fine boy/ fine man" in a club and a woman walks up to you and says "hello,  your perfume smells great. Oh, btw,  I won't mind having you tonight" and you say "YES"and take her to your house?? Come on. Is this not insanity?? This is wrong as far as I'm concerned o and shows one to be highly irresponsible and loose.

Now going on to this young man. I think he should kneel down and be thanking God for having mercy on him and  also thank all those that rose to his defense. It is true the woman lied, but let us not forget that this represents only few of the cases. There are really men out there that rape women who come across their path. Look at the son of Prof. Adeniran in the US for example who was caught on tape gang-raping a woman. To this end, a woman will always get benefit of the doubt in First world countries.

This is the 21st century, DNA evidence exists and is now almost always used in rape cases. In first world countries, it would be difficult for a woman to claim you raped her unless there is one piece of evidence,  and that evidence is semen. But DNA evidence doesn't help you much if you indeed had sex with the woman. If your semen is present on the rape kit, then you are in a lot of trouble. Bearing this in mind, why can't men be more careful about where they stick there "elements". He wasn't a fool. We know that. He was an educated young man. So,  why?? If not for an inability to control ones urge will he do something like have sex with a woman who approaches you in a club and says I want to be with you TONIGHT. Not even a woman he approached o. A woman who approached him. WTF!! The more common thing is for guys to chase girls in a club. Not a girl coming to you and telling you that she wants you "TONIGHT". Not that I'm saying one is better than the other.
There are many ways this could have ended badly.
-It coulda ended as just a fling.
-She coulda cried foul later and said he did and didn't want to pay her dues but it ended this way (BADLY)

Once again, I celebrate with this young man. "Mo ba e yo o".

But in my own humble opinion, I wish to state that this whole charade or "she-bang" would not have happened if he had not done something that I and a lot of Nigerians would consider foolish, reckless and irresponsible. Nowadays, in such countries, it is difficult to get prosecuted for raping a woman you never had sex with. To this end he cannot stand blameless in all that happened. Yeah,  he's not guilty o but a lot of people won't say he's 100% innocent. At least not innocent of gross stupidity. His parents didn't send him to the UK to "get his groove on"

I do hope this serves as a lesson to all those playas, ballers, shotcallers, "pimps,"ladies' men, fine boys, Doni Donis and other young men who think they can eat their cakes and have it and haven't yet gotten it into their heads that actions have consequences and these consequences are not always what we expect them to be. You can't always play with fire and expect never to get burnt.

He must have thought this cake was another he would eat and have at the same time. I don't even know if some of his friends may have urged him in the club - She want's you. Go ahead. Je mbe. Chop up. Enjoy your life!!!
May God punish all "friends" that wish to lead us astray. Awon Onijekuje!! shocked

Please, Please, Please Let us all consider the consequences of our actions before taking decisions.

Thank you very much. Y'all have a great day.

In the words of a great man - "I pity the fool"

I'll repeat a post I just made yesterday about something similar.

mmm, Been thinking about something.

If High treason is defined by some as criminal disloyalty to one's country or people and requires that the individual have obligations of loyalty, then why is it not possible to pass a law that enables anyone who embezzles public funds to be charged with High treason or at least treason. Cause when you think of it, embezzling public funds intended for health, educational, and infrastructural purposes is the highest form of disloyalty to one's nation and people. And by taking an oath of office or being appointed to such means that the individual has "obligations of loyalty" while in that office.

Just my two cents.

BTW High treason carries a penalty of Death in most places.

I gbadun you jo.
Sensible talk about rule of law.

@topic

This is what happens in Nigeria and people don't say anything:

Criminal suspect is caught and killed in police custody and people say nothing.
It's all fun and games until someone's mother or father, brother or sister happens to be the criminal suspect.

Only then will certain Nigerians cry foul.

Like the good book says: Do unto others as you would have them do unto you.

EVERYONE deserves a fair trial.

And by EVERYONE, I mean EVERYONE

No double-standards.
No exceptions.

Today he's shot dead cause he is an "Islamic extremist"
Tomorrow another person is shot dead cause he is a "militant"
Then another person is shot dead for protesting on the street.

And people will say kill them all for disturbing the peace.
What peace?? Do Nigerians have peace??

To those who in anyway condone the death of people in police custody,  All I can say is

"Father forgive them for they know not what they do"

and Don't forget:
It could happen to you too.

After all, I wouldn't want myself, or my brother, sister, mother or father to be the one for whom The rule of law is "waived" to "protect" National Security.

God Bless.

Ekiti: Appeal Court Nullifies Senator Kila's Election
From Hammed Shittu in Ilorin and Toba Suleiman in Ado-Ekiti, 07.01.2009

The Court of Appeal sitting in Ilorin, the  Kwara State capital, yesterday nullified the election of Senator Adefemi Kila of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) as the Senator representing Ekiti Central Senatorial district in the upper chamber of the National Assembly
In his place, the Appellate Court declared the Action Congress (AC) candidate in the April 14, 2007 election for the  senatorial district, Mr. Bode Ola, the duly elected Senator having secured the highest number of votes cast in the poll.
Kila had last year been confirmed winner of the senatorial poll by the Justice Usman  Bukar Buala-led State Election Petitions Tribunal which sat in Ado-Ekiti, the Ekiti State capital.

Dissatisfied with the ruling at the lower tribunal, Ola headed for the Court of Appeal to challenge the judgment of the  election tribunal.
Delivering  judgment on the matter in Ilorin, Justice  Sotonye Denton-West, said  the respondent (Kila) after a deduction of invalid votes from the initial votes credited to him by the Independent National Electoral Commission, (INEC), has a total of 19,653 votes as against 38,563 credited to the appellant (Ola) as lawful votes.
The appellant had at the lower tribunal led an evidence in which the respondent was alleged to have inflated the votes credited to him by about 19,000.

The physical counting of the ballot papers had revealed that about 19,000 of the ballot papers had the same serial number.

According to the court, since the respondent could not challenge the evidence at the lower tribunal it would be difficult for the appellate court to grant a specific prayer on it.
The lower Tribunal had cited technicality for not considering the ground of the appellant at that level of adjudication.
The Apeallate judge however averred that, “the era of technicality was over”, adding that “since the evidence was not challenged at the lower tribunal it is an acceptance that the evidence was not controverted.”
Justice Denton-West declared that, “after subtracting the valid votes from the invalid ones, the appellant has a majority lawful votes. And based on these majority of lawful votes, the appellant (Ola) is so declared as the winner of the election.”

In a swift reaction to the ruling yesterday, the AC described the judgment as a sweet reward for perseverance and doggedness.
In a statement issued  by its National Publicity Secretary, Alhaji Lai Mohammed, the party commended the AC candidate as well as the party for their strong belief in the case as well as in the judiciary, even when it seemed that the judicial process was dragging on forever.
It also hailed the judiciary for exposing the outcome of the 2007 senatorial election in the state, and indeed that of other elections, as nothing but a sheer robbery.
The AC and the  PDP in Ekiti State however viewed the judgment differently.
While the AC Chairman in the state, Chief Jide Awe, described it as a confirmation of the stand of the party that the 2007 April polls were allegedly rigged by INEC in favour of the PDP, the PDP said the judgment of the Appeal Court came to it as a surprise because there was no cause for such a verdict when in actual fact the AC supporters did not even vote during the election due to the fear of the popularity of the PDP in the state.

Appeal Court Sacks Ekiti PDP Senator
June 30, 2009 14:18 (1 hour ago), 117 views

By Stephen Oni, Ilorin

The Court of Appeal sitting in Ilorin, the Kwara State capital, this morning sacked Senator Femi Kila representing Ekiti Central Senatorial District.

In the judgment delivered by Justice Sontoye Denton-West, with Justice Jumai Anat Osagie and Justice Ignatius Agobe as members of the team, the court ruled that Bode Ola, the Action Congress candidate in the 2007 Senatorial election in Ekiti State won the election.

The Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC, had declared Kila, the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, candidate winner of the election.

Ola challenged the verdict at the Election Petition Tribunal and the mater dragged all the way to the Appeal Court which upturned Kila’s victory today.

Reacting to the judgement, Lagos lawyer Mr. Femi Falana, said: “Under the doctrine of lis pendens, Mr. Femi Kila should refund the salaries and allowances he has collected while he was parading himself as a senator.”

Senator Kila was one of the PDP chieftains in Ekiti State who mobilised supporters for the Ekiti governorship election rerun on 25 April this year which was marred by violence, ballot stuffing and snatching among other malpractices.

My guy. U are making a lot of sense o.

Your comment highlights the problem with some of our Nigerian politicians. - INTRACTABLE GREED.

If as a politician, a marriage must take place between your family and that of President Yar Adua in order to "strengthen" ties, wouldn't the most logical thing be for said politician to marry one of his sons to Yar Adua's children. But NO. They can't have that. GREED will never let them do that. Their own pleasures and desires must trump everything all. And therein lies the downfall of this great Nation and this belief that you must have it all.
Anything that is within your grasp - catch am.
Any woman that is within your reach - chook am
Any money that crosses your path - take it.

That is the problem with this country.
