Mind you we are secular but not strictly secular in Nigeria. Our cultural traditions too forbid it.
Case closed. Our traditions support giving a widow to her brother in laws. Traditions change |

Call it intolerance. Islamic law is intolerant to homosexuals. Nigerian law too is intolerant to it too. Don't infect us with gayism. No one is saying that you must bring gays to your house or teach your children to be gay. What the secular society is saying is that you should mind your business. You don't have to support gays but you must not antagonize them for their way of life. Live and let live. If Islam is against gay rights, so be it. But you cannot use Islam to discriminate against gays. Keep your religion to yourself, your family and the Ummah. You have no right to force your beliefs on gays and non muslims. Just as gays an non muslims cannot force things on you |

Nigerians that support trump are either ignorant or just hypocrites.
1. Trump has reduced LEGAL immigration. I am not talking about ILLEGAL immigration but LEGAL immigration. A lot of countries are finding it hard to get visas to the USA.
2. Trump refused to apologise for the wrong imprisonment of 5 black youths after calling for the death penalty for them. He defended his actions by saying that there were wrongs on both sides- the prosecutors and the black youths.
3. Trump has stated that he wants to tackle the opioid epidemic by creating death penalty for drug dealers. Trump is forgetting that the number 1 dealers in the opioid crisis are American doctors who overprescribe addictive drugs.
4. A lot of Trump's high ranking appointees have been arrested.
5. Even Omarosa, a Trump White House employee claimed that Trump is a racist. |

Morality changes In the 70s, people thought that smoking cigarettes was okay. I'm sure it was halal until the late 80s when they found out it was cancerous. |
Islam › Re: Islam's Position On Homosexuality by JeromeBlack: 7:58pm On Jun 20, 2019 |
Empiree: No, i can read btw the line. If you understand and declare something is haram, you have no more business advocating for it or indireclty defending homosexual as you rightly put up defence against sino's. This means that you consider it haram is a lip service. I am not a fool. And at no point i have ever supported the so called sex education. You can quote me if i did. If you cant it means you lied. Sex education in itself exposes kids to sexual immorality. It improves nothing in the community. If something is haram it must be hated. What we dont do it attack the one who engages in it. That's a crime. Only the State has the right to persecute. You can hate a gay man but don't attack him. Attacking him is tantamount to hate crime. Just like atheists openly say in secular world "fuvk the modafuvking G-d". No one arrest them for it bcus it is not a crime. But attacking believers in God is.
So the so called "gay lesson" being taught in the UK is introduction and exposition of children to this debauchery. Sex education actually plays a part in reducing teen pregnancy. But you wouldn't know that because your madrasa taught you to hate western concepts. |

I know the west to you is 'god' but have you taken your time to think about harm to the fabrics of society and the family system which Islamic Jurisprudence proposes as part of its cardinal goals to protect?! Oga, I actually have read the Quran. I started reading the hadith but I stopped when many muslims were being dishonest- claiming that some hadiths are weak when it suits them. I am well versed in fiqh. No one is forcing you to be gay. You are just intolerant |

Islam › Re: Islam's Position On Homosexuality by JeromeBlack: 5:20pm On Jun 20, 2019 |
sino: And that is the point of the quoted article. What the supposed authorities on mental health hold as 'scientific' evidence to declare homosexuality as normal is nothing more than anecdotal and antiquated perceptions! With such perceptions, perhaps we shall still get to a point where psychopaths and serial killers would be accepted as normal isn't it?! This is what happens when you lack logic and conceptualisation as a result of only accepting Islamic jurisprudence. Oga, secular morality and jurisprudence in the west relies on four central philosophies 1. Avoding harm to human beings 2. Creating equality between different people 3. Punishment from an authorized body as a deterrent 4. Having laws that applies to everyone equally. Gays do not cause any harm to anyone. They are human beings and deserve equal rights. This is in line with points 1 and 2. Their equality is protected by laws in point 4. that applies to everyone equally. Islamic jurisprudence does not care about point 2. It sees certain people as less than others. The prophet is a prime example. The prophet had over 10 wives while the common Muslim man is limited to 4 wives. Then there are women, who in Islam can only marry one husband. |

KoiceReloaded: This is actually one of pet peeves of mine, along with shooting a powerful firearm with one arm. However, I have come to terms with them since movies are the depiction of our fantasy.
While the basic fundamental of movies are predicated on real life principle, over application of real world logic will invariably sabotage the fictitious plot lines, and rob them of their dramatic effects and visual stimuli. Basically, at a certain point, things tend to stop making logical sense since the very essence of the story depends on the fantastical.
This is why people could clash through glass windows with nary a scratch, or utilize a defibrillitor to wake a flatlining patient. It is illusory/fiction. Have you finished season 3 of billions? |

A policeman's 1966 lecture to teenagers on how homosexuality can destroy lives.
https://www.pbs.org/video/american-experience-dangers-homosexuality/
And guard yourselves against a chastisement which cannot fall exclusively on those of you who are wrong-doers, and know that Allah is severe in punishment.
Whether you hear or not I only wanted to send the same warning Allah revealed in His Glorious Book so that I am not guilty when time comes. One thing is to practice this stupid thing in your privacy but it is entirely different when people come in the open to embrace and promote it. That's what attracts destruction.
And we have so called muslims promoting this vice in the name of tolerance. It is incumbent on upright muslims to warm against it because when punishment comes it affects not only offenders but guiltless as well. I hope Nigeria still has the law in place. Even in some state in Western world it is still illegal. They are scared of legalizing homosexual. They know repercussions. There is difference between legalizing homosexual and gay secret practice. Legalizing homosexual is validating Haram. They know it. You do have your right to be gay in a country that allows it. That's your prerogative. Keep quiet. 1966. Christianity Etc › Re: God's Failure As A Moral Standard by JeromeBlack: 1:25pm On Jun 20, 2019 |
Ihedinobi3: First, I'm a Christian, that is, a person who believes in Jesus Christ - God become Man to die for all human sins and save us from the Lake of Fire. And I believe completely in the Bible. This is for perspective, so that you know where my answers are coming from.
To begin with, the problem with conversations like this is that words are abused. The term "God" has a meaning, for example, but your use of it has rendered the term to essentially be nonsense.
God, by definition, is the source of all moral definitions. This is what makes Him the true moral standard. Only He decides what is right and wrong. That is what it means to be God in this specific issue of morality. In other words, there is no possibility of determining right and wrong or judging what is right and what is wrong without reference to an absolute source of such definitions. If you disagree with this, then there really is nothing further to talk about.
If you do agree, on the other hand, then the question is who is the true God and how He defines right and wrong so that we can judge ourselves and others by His standard. Otherwise, it is completely meaningless to talk about right and wrong. That definition of God exists in no dictionary or scripture. God can never be the source of human morality. A dog can never understand the morality of a human being. A dog and a man are different species with differences in intelligence. This is the same for God and human beings. There is no perfect moral system on earth because human beings are not perfect. They are fallible and subject to bias. How then can we understand Gods morality? God is an alien. A non-human powerful entity that humans cannot comprehend. If we cannot comprehend him and understand perfection, how can our morals be gotten from him? You cannot understand God but somehow, you understand his morals? His perfect morals? Even the bible argues that Gods ways are mysterious. How then is he a moral authority when we do not understand him. Part of being moral is being knowledgeable about actions. If we do not understand Gods actions, how do we then create a standard of morality around Godliness? IIF YOU CANNOT UNDERSTAND GOD, HOW THEN CAN YOU CLAIM THAT GOD IS THE SOURCE OF YOUR MORALITY, WHEN IT WOULD LOGICALLY SHOW THAT YOU DO NOT UNDERSTAND GODS MORALITY? |

This one really captivated me, maybe because Al Pacino is genius or the story was really touching, I found myself swooning from time to time and hoping the camera doesn't stop rolling. Some pictures just have a way of affecting your life, a way of making you want to live the life of it's characters, that's what this one did and I will be forever be dazzled by it.
