We are suddenly back to those dark days when Boko Haram terrorists strike with ease and attack military formations. That was precisely what these blood-thirsty bastards did on Tuesday when they attempted to dislodge the 120 Task Force Battalion located in Goniri, Yobe State.

Our gallant soldiers repelled the attack, killing over 100 of these terrorists. On the same day, there were multiple bomb attacks in Damaturu and two mosques in Maiduguri; 38 innocent Nigerians were killed in these attacks. Earlier on October 2, the terrorists attacked Abuja, leaving 20 people dead and scores injured. October is just 10 days old and 83 innocent lives have been lost to Boko Haram. In summary, about 1300 Nigerians have been killed, precisely 133 days after Jonathan was kicked out of office. We have never had it so bad.

The story back then was that Jonathan’s ineptitude was responsible for frequent Boko Haram attacks. Some said the North did not want Jonathan as president, and that was why Boko Haram’s atrocities persisted. For this cruel school of thought, Jonathan was the problem and must be removed. At a point, some people even said it openly that Jonathan was the one funding Boko Haram to destabilse the North and prolong his tenure.

Haba, what would he have gained with the destabilisation of a part of the country of which he was president? Even when Jonathan tried to procure equipment for the military in South Africa and it went awry, opposition politicians celebrated this. Some even said the equipment Jonathan went for was meant to arm Boko Haram. I never knew some people could be this wicked. Way back, when terrorists attack our soldiers and seize territories, the then opposition politicians mocked our gallant soldiers and made a show of it. Every Boko Haram attack was used by the opposition as an opportunity to mock Jonathan and cast aspersions on our gallant soldiers. It was used to instigate the people against the Jonathan administration. Many believed them. Now, the truth unfolds.

The then opposition party refused to join the war against these terrorists. The APC never offered any positive advice. Even Muhammadu Buhari, then opposition presidential candidate, refused to attend Council of State meetings to offer advice on how to tackle the menace. At a point, he was stoking the insurgency. He and the opposition party played politics with the Boko Haram crisis. They saw it as a unique selling point to compel Nigerians to vote for them. Buhari even promised Nigerians that Boko Haram would become history within two months of assuming office.

The blackmail worked. INEC subsequently told us that Nigerians had voted out Jonathan. Did a majority of Nigerians vote against Jonathan? That is a story for another day. For now, the truth about the Boko Haram nuisance is unfolding. The monster encouraged by Buhari and the then opposition APC has grown so big. The attacks have become ferocious. Recovered territories are being taken again by these bastards. Now, we all know that Boko Haram’s menace is not about Jonathan and ineptitude in handling the situation. We all now know that Boko Haram persisted not because the North hates Jonathan as many wicked politicians made many to believe. We all now know that it was not a deliberate attempt by Jonathan to set back the North and prolong his tenure.

The Boko Haram menace is a national problem. I had said this times without number. Patriots must join hands with whoever is in government to tackle this menace; otherwise, it will consume all of us. I am repeating the same thing today. Every Nigerian must work with this administration and the military to make Boko Haram history, regardless of the inglorious role played by Buhari and the APC in the growth of this monster called Boko Haram. God bless Nigeria as we tackle these terrorists.

NACCIMA’s Alarm about Economic Slide
Our politicians are spending too much time playing politics at the expense of the economy. The slowdown in the country’s economic growth in the last four months should be of concern to all of us. For example, the market capitalisation of the Nigerian Stock Exchange (NSE) depreciated by N489 billion in the third quarter of 2015 as it fell from N11.218 trillion as at July 1, to N10.729 trillion on September 30. Cautious trading by investors has continued to pervade the market as a lot of them continue to watch from the sidelines, awaiting a clear economic direction from Mr. President.

All economic indices are in decline. Already, unemployment is on the rise. This is why this government must take seriously the recent alarm raised by the Nigerian Chambers of Commerce, Industry, Mines and Agriculture (NACCIMA) about the economy. NACCIMA rated the nation’s economic performance as at the end of the third quarter “low and below expectations” following inability of the federal government to put in place, policy thrusts expected to drive the economy.

“It is important to note that what an average Nigerian desire at the moment is for the ‘Change’ they voted for to be translated into a significant positive impact on the real sector and the economy in general,” declared Chief Bassey Edem, NACCIMA’s National President. Edem stressed the need for government to address macro-economic indicators that have been going negative. He also has a word for the CBN. “The CBN must seek ways to introduce structural monetary and fiscal policies that support economic and industrial development.”

The NACCIMA warning came on the heels of a similar one by the NLC asking Mr. President to immediately begin to think about creative economic measures that would save Nigeria from a possible economic recession in 2016. The union noted that the Nigerian economy “is rumoured to be going through tough periods that could lead to its collapse early in 2016,” and called on Buhari to move swiftly against the materialisation of the predictions with smart measures. I sincerely hope the president is listening.

Buhari, Nepotism and Hackneyed Ministerial Nominees

One of the biggest problems contributing greatly to our underdevelopment is nepotism. It has been our albatross; and there is no sign that it would abate very soon. I was not shocked that President Muhammadu Buhari’s ministerial list is coated in nepotism. Our president does it with impunity.

The Afri-Projects Consortium links (a key consultant to the defunct PTF when Buhari was its chairman) is still very much alive. This country cannot make progress with paddy paddy arrangement. The nominees from Kebbi State, Suleiman Hussain Adamu was a principal consultant to Afri-Projects Consortium.

Now, let’s look at Ms. Amina J. Mohammed, another ministerial nominee and her connection with Buhari. She founded Afri-Projects Consortium. Yes, that same key consultant to the defunct PTF.

The CPC connection is also obvious here. Adebayo Shittu, the nominee from Oyo State was CPC’s gubernatorial candidate in Oyo State in the 2011 general election. The nominee from Kebbi State, Abubakar Malami was the CPC’s National Legal Adviser. He was also the lead counsel of the legal team for the defunct CPC from the Court of Appeal to the Supreme Court when Buhari challenged the outcome of the 2011 presidential election. Senator Hadi Sirika, the nominee from Katsina State was also a CPC chieftain. Sirika was elected into the Senate in 2011 on the platform of the CPC. Dr. Osagie Ehanire, the nominee from Edo State was the state’s Coordinator of Muhammadu Buhari’s Campaign Organisation.

Only very few of the nominees represent a breath of fresh air as anticipated. How can we be talking about making Chief Audu Ogbeh a minister in the year 2015? Ogbe was first made minister 33 years ago. The likes of Abdulrahman Dambazzau, Dr. Ogbonnaya Onu and Adebayo Shittu have no business on this list.

How Governor Ayade Stings Civil Servants
Cross River State’s civil servants thought things would change a bit when Governor Ben Ayade assumed duties. This was after 8 years of being pummeled by Liyel Imoke. The workers’ dreams have been shattered. They went on a one-day strike 8 days ago in protest against a long list of unfulfilled promises by Ayade. Their grudges include huge unpaid salaries of local government workers and teachers and that of the Cross River University of Technology. The workers also complained about unpaid gratuities/pension and unremitted deductions from salaries.

They also alleged that the government was planning to use bailout funds from the federal government to offset loans instead of paying salaries. The situation in Cross River is so bad. Nothing has changed since the exit of Imoke who pauperised workers. Virtually all the MDAs in the state are grounded due to poor funding. Cross River civil servants are tired of waiting for the dividends of democracy. Ayade has been a big disappointment. I sincerely hope he would amend his ways and treat the civil servants like human beings.
Still on Boko Haram’s Attack on Army Chief’s Village
There was a bit of error in my piece last week on Boko Haram’s attacks on the country home of the Chief of Army Staff, Tukur Buratai in Buratai Village (Biu LG) of Borno State. Yes, the house/village was attacked thrice as reported but the attacks took place before Buratai became the Army Chief. The error is regretted. On a positive note, I had a very frank discussion with General Buratai last week on the war against Boko Haram. I was impressed by his passion for the military and commitment to ending the Boko Haram menace. However, my position remains that Nigeria should re-engage the South African mercenaries and Russian experts used by the Jonathan administration to tame Boko Haram.

We should also establish very strong military ties with Russia and China. This is not an indication of weakness by the Nigerian military. In a situation like this, there is nothing wrong with getting extra quality hands from anywhere in the world. Improved intelligence gathering, community policing and use of modern technology are also key in this war against these bastards. May Allah continue to bless General Burutai with wisdom to surmount Boko Haram challenges.
PoliticsHow NNPC Officials Stole Billions Using Failed Electronic Management Project by JERRYMAG4(op): 6:16am On Oct 12, 2015
How NNPC officials stole billions using failed electronic management project

An enterprise resource solution for accountability in the Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation, NNPC’s business processes, turned a spin project for crooked top officials to steal billions, a report reveals.

The project, which had 86 weeks completion time-line, has dragged for more than three years, after gulping almost double the contract sum originally approved by the Nigerian presidency, with nothing to show.

The resource solution is called SAP Enterprise Resources Planning (ERP).
It is an electronic management solution deployed by most global organisations to monitor real-time operations of a network of subsidiaries and affiliates irrespective of their locations.

All-in-one solution

The solution is an all-in-one package, comprising different modules for standard business, financial, contracts management and personnel information, data and processes in the business value chain.

The automated tool is usually deployed once and run globally through an integrated network that links all the organisation’s operational units and affiliates seamlessly, irrespective of location.

Most multi-national oil companies, like Royal Dutch Shell Group, ExxonMobil Corporation, Chevron Corporation and Total operate such integrated global systems that allow seamless monitoring of business processes with partners and government agencies from any location.

In 2013, Royal Dutch Shell Corporation, the world’s fourth largest oil producer, with about 3.1 million barrels of oil equivalent per day, and almost 40,000 staff, spent only $32million to deploy a similar solution within 18 months.

With the tool, Shell monitors real-time operational processes involving thousands of subsidiaries and affiliates in over 90 countries around the world, including Nigeria.

Curiously, a detailed implementation review report in February 2015 by the corporate audit department of the NNPC, exclusively obtained by PREMIUM TIMES recently, showed how the deployment of a similar platform by the NNPC turned out a specimen of monumental fraud.

By January 2015, the report said the SAP ERP implementation gulped almost double the total amount approved for the deployment of the solution in all NNPC’s 13 subsidiaries, affiliates and strategic business units (SBUs).

The report, titled “Review of SAP Implementation Project” from Assignment No. HPA/1/2015/02, stated: “a major risk that hindered the completion time-line of the project was connectivity required to support SAP to go-live was not fully available.

“There seems to be a disconnect between the business units (users of different SAP solutions) and the SAP PMO as per the completeness of deployment and usability of the solution.

“While SAP PMO considers SAP program as having been completed and closed, most business units are still grappling with challenges, ranging from incomplete deployment, lack of integration amongst modules and usability.”

NNPC enterprise solution conceived

The SAP ERP was first approved by the board of the corporation on May 15, 2007 as a plank for the then Olusegun Obasanjo administration’s reform agenda in the country’s oil and gas industry.

But, PREMIUM TIMES investigations revealed that successive NNPC managements, beginning with Funso Kupolokun as GMD, always exploited loopholes in the project’s execution to milk the system of billions.

Findings showed that Accenture, the management consulting and technology services firm, was originally expected to run the project for $67million.

The company was paid about $3million in 2007 to carry out the “blueprinting”, a road-map for implementing the solution.
However, another bid for $24million was received from SAP of Germany through its Nigerian subsidiary, SAP Nigeria.

This compelled Accenture to bring down its price to $25million after its allies on the NNPC Board had leaked the information.

Provisional Board approval favoured the bid by SAP Nigeria, with majority of members persuaded with the argument that as patent owner of the SAP solution, the company would provide after sales service where necessary at no extra cost.

The Board decision to choose SAP Nigeria angered some key members, who were strongly rooting for Accenture.

Regardless, the then Special Adviser to the President on Petroleum, Edmund Daukoru, stood up to the pressures by some powerful Board members to overturn the Board’s decision for Accenture.

Members of the Board were still abroad in Harvard for a training programme when their dissolution was announced by then President Obasanjo, apparently to frustrate the implementation of their decision not to give Accenture the contract.

Days later, Mr. Kupolokun wrote to Mr. Obasanjo requesting the reversal of the dissolved Board’s decision on the contract to SAP Nigeria.

But, the president could do nothing on the request without a reconstituted NNPC Board till Mr. Obasanjo’s tenure ended in May 2007.

When Musa Yar’adua took over and the NNPC Board was reconstituted, Mr. Kupolokun also approached him with a similar memo. But, nothing could be done till he was removed from office.

SAP ERP approved

Underground scheming on the project continued till February 16, 2009 when President Yar’adua finally approved about $25.57million for the entire project.

This excluded cost of critical related infrastructure, $4.038 million; project team cost, $1.74 million, project implementation in Kaduna, Warri and Port Harcourt refineries, $5.4 million, totalling about $36.75million.

Shortly after the presidential approval of the contract, the hawks went to work immediately, to realise through other means what they could not in the board room – hijack the contract.

The plan coincided with the period Surajdeen Afolabi’s employment as supply chain manager with Shell Petroleum Development Company of Nigeria was about to come to end.

Mr. Afolabi was promptly recruited to take charge of the newly created department to coordinate the SAP project.

Although a non-IT professional, Mr. Afolabi was assured strong management support to work independently of the existing ICT Department.
Indeed, successive managements in NNPC made good the assurances. Because of the high level complicity in the executive scam, neither Mr. Afolabi nor the department he headed was starved steady supply of hard currency, as all requests were routinely met.

On assumption of office, Mr. Afolabi’s first proposal was for $3million to conduct another “blueprinting”, done earlier by Accenture. Despite opposition from the IT department, approval was given and funds released.

Independent confirmation could not be obtained on whether the funds were actually used for the purpose they were released or not.

Beside, any staff poking his nose in the affairs of the SAP project was either cut to size or shown the way out of the department.

Almost double bill

Details of the expenditure on the project exclusively obtained by PREMIUM TIMES revealed that as at January 2015 the NNPC spent about $70.66 million and €6.06 million as well as N820.089 million.

The amount is almost double the total of $36.75 million approved by the Federal Government for the completion of the entire project.

Yet, the solution is partially functional in only five SBUs, namely the Nigerian Petroleum Development Company, NPDC; Pipelines and Products Marketing Company, PPMC; Integrated Data Services Limited, IDSL; NNPC Retail Limited and Crude Oil Marketing departments, COMD, and Warri Refinery and Petrochemical Company, WRPC.

Deployment in each SBU costs a minimum of $5million.

Project completion timeline was over 86 weeks. But, the review report showed that more than 36 months later, implementation seems to be leading nowhere.

“As at March 2012, over two years after the take-off of the project, connectivity required to support SAP (to) go live was not fully established,” the report said.

Experts fault deployment

A Lagos-based IT consultant, Fred Umahi, criticized the deployment of stand-alone SAP solutions by NNPC, saying as an enterprise solution, it should be deployed once and run globally through an integrated network linking all SBUs, irrespective of location.

Mr. Umahi faulted the duplication of the SAP solution in all NNPC subsidiaries without integration, describing the absence of inter-connectivity between the SBUs so far deployed as the main reason the solution has not been functional.

“Every organisation deploys one SAP solution and integrate it to all its business units globally,” Mr. Umahi explained. “Deploying stand-alone SAP hardware, data baseline and operational system in silos by NNPC without integration is wrong.”

Those familiar with the implementation of the project said the SAP project managers did not reckon with its scope, in terms of the modules suitable for the business requirements and peculiarities of each SBU.

For instance, workers in the Human Resources, Crude Oil Marketing and Finance departments said the SAP module deployed to them was not what they needed, because they were serviced with different business modules and licenses.

Despite opposition by the IT department that Microsoft Business Intelligence Suite had already been deployed, NNPC management went ahead to approve €4 million for Business Intelligence solution using Business Object.

But, the Business Intelligence module, a management reporting tool for decision making, deployed at NPDC failed to work, because it does not run on Service Pack Zero, considered an obsolete model that does not allow upgrade.

As a temporary solution, an upgrade from Service Pack Zero to Service Pack 7 cost about $5million, apart from additional charge of $2million per SBU for “stabilisation”; $1.9 million for “corridor support” (training for prospective users) and €4 million as annual SAP maintenance fee. “Customization” and “optimization” attract similar fees.

Equally, approval was given for the department to license all SAP solutions end-to-end at €4 million each, irrespective of the fact that NNPC already had similar subsisting licenses.

Despite the huge expenditure on the deployment of the Business Intelligence that has failed to work, a source in NNPC, who asked not to be named, as he has no permission to speak on the issue, said Mr. Afolabi has already announced plans to scrap the system.

In its place, he wants to introduce an Enterprise Project Management, EPM system after NNPC spent about $1.9 million for in-house personnel training.

Approval has also been given for another contract to run a Project Sanctioning and Approval Procedure, P-SAP.

Hawking the solution

To capture more SBUs and affiliates to buy in, the SAP department has continued to hawk the solution to all NNPC subsidiaries and affiliates.

The audit report noted that Mr. Afolabi had made presentations to propose the solution to 18 SBUs and several affiliates, like Brass LNG, Petroleum Products Pricing Regulatory Agency (PPPRA) and Department of Petroleum Resources (DPR).

“The problem with the SAP system is a fundamental one,” one top NNPC said. “The structure was built on a fraudulent foundation that no one can build on. The department that deployed the solution, from top to bottom, is not technically competent.

“For the system to work, President Muhammadu Buhari has unfinished business at NNPC. If his dream of sanitizing the NNPC and bring it to international reckoning is to be realized, cleaning the Aegean stable has to begin with the SAP project.

“Those who committed the fraud that has cost government billions must be cleared from the system and the contract reviewed. Otherwise, NNPC is doomed.”

NNPC says SAP is working

Regardless, NNPC spokesperson, Ohi Alegbe, dismissed reports that the project was not working, saying those complaining are those finding it difficult to adapt to the change since the introduction of the solution in NNPC.

“Please, don’t get sucked in to the false claims that SAP is not working. SAP is working very well. In fact, the implementation of SAP is one of the success stories of the on-going transformation process at the NNPC,” Mr. Alegbe said.

Mr. Afolabi, who was in charge of the SAP Department since 2007 as General Manager and recently appointed Group General Manager, SAP/IT Department by the new NNPC management, dismissed as “laughable and mischievous” claims that SAP in NNPC was not working.

He provided commendation letters and framed awards on the walls of his office received from previous NNPC managements as testimonials for the performance of the SAP solution in the corporation’s operational processes, particularly contract awards and payments.

“SAP is working perfectly in NNPC,” Mr. Afolabi told PREMIUM TIMES in his office a fortnight ago in Abuja.

“Since the introduction of SAP in NNPC, all aspects of our operations are working seamlessly. We have received several awards and recognitions from NNPC management and outside because of the SAP success story. The only challenge we have has been how to get everybody to buy in.”

He refused to give further details. Although Mr. Afolabi promised to provide “vigorous and robust responses” if PREMIUM TIMES submitted a formal request for clarification on issues relating to SAP in NNPC, he failed on three occasions over two weeks to send answers to questions to him.

Despite their claims that SAP was working well, the newly appointed Group Managing Director of NNPC, Ibe Kachikwu, recently voiced his frustration and disappointment over the project, officials there told PREMIUM TIMES.

Mr. Kachikwu reportedly told a meeting of NNPC’s top management officials that despite the huge investment in project, it remained more of a drainpipe than a solution, particularly in helping curb corruption in its business processes.

The General Manager, ITD/SAP of NNPC, Inuwa Danladi, recently recruited to head the seven-member SAP Team, was said to have recommended that based on the implementation review report, the SAP project cannot function effectively except it was dismantled and deployed afresh.

Mr. Danladi is said to have told NNPC management that the deployment of SAP in the corporation was deliberately designed to fail, so as to serve as a conduit for its managers to siphon money.

Ex Nigerian Billionaire Goddy Anabor Turn Taxi Driver,Explains His Tragic Fall & What Led To it

This is definitely sad but true. One time billionaire, Goddy Anabor who was the talk of the town by all and delight of musicians years back, a well-known IKEJA lord, has explained to E-27 magazine’s Bodun Kupoluyi, how he lost the billionaires, what led to his fall, how he sold his properties and now left with none.

How he made atleast three people billionaires and have showed him no gratitude, above all how he sees himself now and how he has come to reality with his present situation. It’s a must read for every young person who wants to know how to manage his finances, people around him and ofcourse LIFE. The full interview below.

What happened to Chief Goddy Anabor, how did you find yourself here?

You know God said, when you help, they will help you. I made a lot of money from working with breweries, and different companies before I travelled abroad. I relocated to make money through one Mr. Ben at Top Breweries owned by Chief Lawson know a lot people in country, I’m Nigerian.

I knew one Sogunro who we used to call Agbemo; whenever he travelled to London, I always went him. I knew all his children who were half-castes. That was how I brought Fatai Sogunro who is also known as Chris Sogunro; he was a carpenter and bricklayer in London. I made him. I taught him what I was doing, and he is a big man today; he even used to borrow money from me.

In fact, in Lagos Sheraton Hotel, I spent 86million Naira in hosting people from London for one year and three months. I have the receipts, and you can go and ask them there. Today, things are very rough for me and my family; in fact, I don’t even know what to say anymore. I see my name in all the newspapers, and I don’t know why.
I trained people like Chris Sogunro, Tokunbo Sodunke, Dare Babayemi, Wale Awesu, and many of them like that. I made them what they are, and today, they are Billionaires.

I’m surprised that they see me in this condition; some of them say I’m pushing drugs, but they can’t help me out. I don’t why they are such ingrates. It is only one man called Mike Biggy who lives somewhere in Akowonjo that has helped me. He rented a house for me and really takes care of me.

I wonder why this people decided to treat me this way considering the amount of money I spent on them. There was a time I had N3bn in Equity Bank at Allen Avenue, Ikeja, which I spent on people. Anyway, I thank God for my life. I started colour printing in Nigeria, and I was printing for Thisday Newspaper, Punch, and many others. I also registered a security company which was approved and I had a license. They gave three of us the license. We had Vanni, Gordon and another one. I was even guarding the airport.

You were quite big then; didn’t you invest your money wisely then?

I invested a lot of my money, but because of corruption, mismanagement of the people handling the businesses ran them down. When you have a business, it’s very good to employ people who are reliable and give them some percentage of the investment or profits to get their commitments. That lesson I learnt greatly. I was putting my wife and my family, they ran the business down. My wife, Anthonia was even sharing money with people on purchases and supplies.

My workers were building houses from the money they were making from the companies without letting me know.

How did you meet Anthonia?

I met her at a Police Station when I was having a problem then. She was a Sergeant then, very beautiful woman. She was working with Dan Baba then and she was trying to assist me.

Was she your first wife?

No, my first wife is an Ijebu woman called Toyin, and she is still alive. I used to call her Toyin Tomato; she was always with Kolington, Tayelolu and the likes.

Why did you part with her?

I parted with her because she likes parties a lot.

But you were also going to parties then?

I went to parties, but I could not leave my family and go to parties. She used to leave our little son and go to parties. She had three children for me. My first daughter, Bose, is a Phd holder in London. I have another one who is a doctor, and Tunde who is in America.

Are they aware of your situation?

Yes. They’ve tried.

I knew you had properties on Isaac John and Alabi Crescent in Ikeja, what happened to them?

They took advantage of me because they knew I needed money. I was offered N80m by a man called Basorun A.K for a house of about N300m. He has been in jail for about 10 years now because he was a drug dealer.

What about your Guest House on Joel Ogunnaike, GRA, Ikeja?

I rented it, and I gave it to Shina Eddo, who also rented it from the family that owns it. Shina is a very good person to me.

What happened to your fleet of cars because you had a penchant for them?

I had more than 50 cars like Bentley, Rolls Royce and others. I usually bought cars that were newly manufactured. Household enemies are the problems of my life. God has made me to see that the people I trusted don’t even care about me.

Why do you think everyone neglected you?

It’s corruption, distrust. I gave at least 60 percent of all I had to people. I’m so happy on the street because people like Ade Balogun take care of me.

What about Dare Babs; who was he to you?

He was my driver. I brought him from Abeokuta to Lagos when I was working at the Breweries. We had a problem because of some little money of $5m, which was stolen by one Kenny, though we’ve settled it. He’s a very good person, but I haven’t heard from him for some years now.

What’s your relationship with Oghadiome?

He is my village brother; in fact, my compound brother from Fuga in Edo State. The late Admiral Akhigbe was the governor of Lagos State then; I think he was the one that made Oghadiome to become a deputy to Lucky Igbinedion of Edo State then.

When he became the Chief of Staff to Jonathan, I went to Abuja to look for him. I was thinking he would call me for something important because when his mother died, I was there. Even when they were building the secretariat in Fugar, I was the one that contributed the most and they named a hall there after me: Godwin Anabor Hall. Today, none of them recognises me, and it’s very funny.

Do you think what is happening to you is Karma because you used to ‘obtain’ people then?

In the Bible, God says ”if you believe him, he will give you joy. And for those that don’t believe him, he will give them power to acquire, but those who believe in Him will take it from you.” God gave me money; I did not obtain, it just came. If I obtained, they would have arrested me. I’ve never been on trial; or jailed for any offence. I don’t have such a record.

For your information, I know I will come back again; that’s why I’m speaking like this. I will come back again because you’re bound to go up and down seven times and still have the grace. I believe in God.

What is your greatest joy in life?

My joy is that I did not die and give people opportunity to say good things about me when I’m gone. I’m alive to see how people are treating me when I don’t have. In fact, people that I taught how to make money then and who are now rich don’t want to touch me.

Ambassadors of foreign countries used to attend your parties, what was your connection with them?

It’s because I’m honest. If you’re honest, people will come to you.

Tell me about your background, where are you from?

I’m from Fugar, Auchi in Edo state, but I was born in Kano, and grew up in Osogbo.

What about Ade Bendel, I learnt he is your friend?

He is like my brother because he is from Owan in Edo State; I met him in Lagos. I heard that he had some problems and he’s in prison; that’s all I know about him so far.

If you come back again, what lessons have you learnt in life?

I want people to know that the friend you have now is not your best friend; in fact, your household enemy is your family. It’s just you and God, believe me. Always watch your back.

Who is left with you now?

It’s God, and He is working because I’m living and enjoying. I still believe in Philippians 4:13. ‘I can do everything through Him who gives me strength.’

There was a report that you are now driving cab, is that true?

People are just writing whatever they like. A lot of people want to give me cars and other things. When God has blessed you, he has blessed you. Did you not see my driver, yes, he drives me in a Toyota call Pencil Light, but I’m not the one driving or doing kabukabu with it. I’ve learnt to live with my condition after all; I’m alive to see it all.

What is your greatest prayer to God now?

My prayer can be found in Psalm 1 which says, ‘Blessed is the man who does not walk in the midst of the wicked.’ He says he will bless them and make them like trees planted by the riverside. That’s what I prayed that I became a rich man. Forget about gossips.

How old are you chief?

I’m 55, and I was born on February 19.

Where is Anthonia and your children now?

It is a great lie. Boko Haram agents are here blackmailling Nigeria Soldiers again. The truth is, this is your country and you cannot run away. Even if you do, the host country will still refer to you as a Nigerian. Biafra war was more than this and we won...so what is the issue? Lets encourage our government. No amount of negative critisizm would change the situation on ground. This is a full blown war and either you like it or not, you are in Nigeria right now and you can be hit. Don't decieve yourself that you are in the safe heaven because you are in Lagos or Enugu. Check the history. During the biara war, South west never thought that Ibo would have the effrontery or manpower to enter their region but see what happened in Ore. If not for the gallant effort of Commander Olusegun Obasanjo, Lagos would have been hit. Let leave story guys, pray and support our millitary to win this war. Wake up and remember that there is a serious war going on in Nigeria.

thanks.
Christianity EtcRe: Some Muslims Will Make Heaven While Some Christians Will Not. by JERRYMAG4(m): 3:07pm On Dec 01, 2013
Juell: Yeshua is the Hebrew name for the Lord. It means "Yahweh [the Lord] is Salvation." The English spelling of Yeshua is “ Joshua.” However, when translated from Hebrew into the Greek language, the name Yeshua becomes Iēsous. The English spelling for Iēsous is “Jesus.”
Basically, what this means is Joshua and Jesus are the same name. One is translated from Hebrew into English, the other from Greek into English. It is also interesting to note, the names "Joshua" and "Isaiah" are essentially the same names as Yeshua in Hebrew. They mean "Savior" and "the salvation of the Lord."
Those who argue and insist we call Jesus by his
correct name, Yeshua, are concerning
themselves with trivial, non-essential matters.
English speakers call him Jesus, with a "J"
that sounds like "gee." Portuguese speakers
call him Jesus, but with a "J" that sounds like
"sjeh," and Spanish speakers call him Jesus,
with a "J" that sounds like "hey." Which one of
these pronunciations is the correct one? All of
them, of course, in their own language.
The Bible doesn't give preeminence to one
language (or translation) over another. We are
not commanded to call upon the name of the
Lord in Hebrew only. Acts 2:21 says, "But
everyone who calls on the name of the Lord will
be saved." God knows who calls upon his name,
whether they do so in English, Portuguese,
Spanish, or Hebrew. He is still the same Lord
and Savior.
Great!

njokusboy: Op you got it wrong meen, Jesus christ said, "I am the way, the truth and the light, noone comes to the father except through me.... Now it means Jesus is the saviour, any other channel is the path of damnation... Jesus to the muslims is only a prophet, an old prophet at that, they believe his teachings are outdated and subscribe to the teaching of prophet muhammed whom they believe is the NEW prophet... They don't even believe Jesus is the son of God.. So you see.. It aint about believing in jesus or not, u have to acknowledge him as your lord and personal saviour... The bible further said that the name JESUS is the only name given to man, through which he can be saved... So there are two contending issues, "those verses completely dismiss the possibility of anoda saviour, hence you can't believe in Jesus and Mohammed at the same time, matter of fact, their principles are at variance, secondly, belief in the existence of Jesus aint enough, you have to accept him as the saviour...
One thing I can assure you is this, the sincere christians and sincere muslims have a different idea of heaven and they sure as hell aint going to the same place...
Wao. Very intelligient bro. We have some brilliant and mature people in Nairaland. Nobody

IBB: Drama as Soyinka, AC Shun Edo Rally
•Jonathan wants ‘internal democracy’
From Adibe Emenyonu in Benin, 04.30.2010

Governor Adams Oshiom-hole of Edo State may have ignited a crisis within his party, the Action Congress (AC), for not only making Senate President David Mark chairman of the “one man, one vote” rally held in Benin, the state capital, yesterday, but also for inviting former military president Gen. Ibrahim Babangida to the event.

Professor Wole Soyinka, who had flown in from the United States specifically for the event, left unceremoniously on learning that the former military president was also a guest at the initiative meant to promote credible elections.

The entourage of former Lagos State governor Bola Tinubu, which included AC National Chairman, Chief Bisi Akande, Osun AC governorship candidate, Alhaji Rauf Aregbesola, Ekiti State AC governorship candidate, Dr. Kayode Fayemi and National Publicity Secretary, Alhaji Lai Mohammed, and others, turned back at the Benin Airport on learning of the presence of Babangida and other PDP chieftains at the rally.

Confirming the incident, Mohammed explained that the reason they had to leave was that they did not want to be seen to support Babangida’s presidential ambition, and expressed surprise that David Mark who allegedly suppressed the Uwais report on electoral reform was made chairman of the occasion. Mark was, however, absent.

Meanwhile, at the Samuel Ogbemudia Stadium, venue of the rally, Babangida got a foretaste of what probably awaits him in his bid to become President of Nigeria through the ballot box in 2011.

He had arrived the stadium in a coaster bus in company with Oshiomhole and Governors Emmanuel Uduaghan (Delta), Rotimi Amaechi (Rivers), Liyel Imoke (Cross River) and  Timipre Sylva (Bayelsa) – who represented Acting President Goodluck Jonathan but was literally humiliated over his annulment of June 12 presidential election.

Former Nigeria Labour Congress (NLC) President and current Secretary-General of Organisation of Africa Trade Union, Comrade Hassan Sumonu, fired the first salvo when he appealed to Nigerians to never again allow any free and fair election to be annulled in the country. He said whoever annulled the June 12 election was the cause of the problem Nigeria is passing through today.

Festus Keyamo, a Lagos lawyer and social crusader, said it is only one man, one vote that can ensure a corruption-free government that would deliver on electoral promise and be accountable to the people, adding: “That is why we protest the presence of Ibrahim Badamasi Babangida who annulled the June 12 election.”

President of Campaign for Democracy (CD), Joe Okei-Odumakin, pointedly demanded that Nigerians need a public apology for the annulment of June 12.

“We need to know why we lost the man (Chief MKO Abiola) and the mandate of June 12. We need to know why the freest and fairest election was annulled,” she said.

Babangida, who was slated to talk, eventually left the venue without mounting the podium. Later, the obviously rattled presidential aspirant told reporters at the Benin Airport on his way out that those who spoke were entitled to their rights, adding that the beauty of democracy is that you agree to disagree.

According to him, "everybody is free to make his choice the way he likes."
At the rally, Acting President Goodluck Jonathan described electoral fraud as the “basest form” of corruption which every Nigerian must denounce and fight to bring to an end.

The Acting President, who was represented by Governor Sylva, urged Nigerians “to from today and onwards embrace the democratic ideal of respect for the individual voter”.

He observed that any society or country that closes the vital valves of its democratic space cannot develop at a reasonable pace, adding that where there is no opportunity for one man one vote, there would be no accountability and corresponding responsibility.

“Electoral reforms should go beyond assuring that votes count during the election contests in which political parties present candidates through fraudulent processes. Party elections and party nomination elections too should rise to the same level of credibility as the general elections.

“It will be unfair for candidates to emerge from undemocratic and fraudulent party nomination exercises to contest general elections and win based mainly on the strength of their political parties. Political parties must stop letting their members down,” Jonathan said.

He noted that political parties in Nigeria are yet to score high marks in nominating candidates based on classical democratic principles and urged them to open up to their members because real power according to him, must reside in the hands of membership.

“This is the norm anywhere good governance reigns as it is frustrating, disempowering and deflating for members to stand by and watch parties function in small groups within minuscule command structures. This is nothing but democratic asphyxiation and it is often the basis for citizen alienation, violence and apathy,” he said.

In his speech, Oshiomhole explained that the rally was non-partisan, but a forum of Nigerians who appreciate the need to deepen democracy through credible election based on one man one vote.

He praised Jonathan for demonstrating neutrality during the re-run elections in Etsako Central and Anambra State governorship election, and urged youths to resist being used as thugs during elections.
