Okay guys, I would like us to take a good approach to this debate. Let's handle this like engineers(at least the computer science guys claim to be software "enginners") Chemical engineering people(like myself), please list all the math you come across in your program. List the ones that you encounter in CHE classes(with examples) to solve problems, the ones you do in General Engineering clases. And how frequent you actually apply those math techniques. Computer science people, I'm sure you guys are smart enough to follow this same sequence and list your math courses. The ones you use in CSC, the ones that are borrowed couses(from MTH and STAT and so...) and how often you use them... Please note that we are going to cover only first degree level(B.Sc) |
Raymondboyvic:WARNING!!! if you go into Chemical Engineering looking for chemistry or chemistry-like subjects, you'd be disappointed! Because the only chemistry stuff you'll do is general chemistry in your freshman year. Chemical engineering has no chemistry as from 200l till final year. Many of my coursemates that dive into Chemical engineering in the search for chemistry are disappointed and ain't doing so well right now(4th year). The only thing the found was math and design and some EE and ME and also some shit! If you wanna study ChemE, abeg really go on the net and read about it. The name is quite deluding, I'd prefer Process Engineering as a name. But you can pm me for more if you wish... |
I'm a Chemical Enginering u'grad(4th year) and I am also exposed to the computer science and stuff cos I do lots of coding. I would say(without being bias) that all engineering degrees have way too much maths compared to computer science(and if you with the motin that CompSci is "CompSci and maths", just waka past). Engineering degrees even go up to the extent of applying coding and other CompSci techniques to solve problems, but CompSci knows nothing about us. In my degree program I have used coding(esp python and the Scipy,Numpy, Matplotlib amongst others) to solve problems in most of my classes as the maths involved are getting way too complex to solve by hand. I've used Neural networks, Machine learning and many other tools that should belong to CompSci too... I don't know where those people that say CompSci has more maths are coming from.... |

Before th 10 commandments, there was something that commanded us, it's called conscience. If your conscience says it's right? Then ride on... |
FRANKOSKI:Come on bro, that's gay. Really, let's analyse it. The OP is a guy and you want him to date another guy(Jesus)... That's man-to-man faggotry and the OP stated that he is homophobic... |
Well for me, being introverted is quite challanging. But because we live in an extroverted society(schooling in groups, teachers and parents hating the quiet kids, even religion too is extroverted, you have to be in groups and stuff, work too) I have tried to adapt and act like an extrovert at times. But it's not working. It exausts all my energy. Being introverted is at times like a punishment and other times a blessing. I strugle to sustain human relationships. I'm just not good at it. Starting one, keeping it going, nothing! I'm not too good a speaker, but I prefer writing. I prefer to text than call. I have problems with socializing that's one of the reasons I have so little friends. I don't even have guts to approach any random girl. I like quiet and solitude. I overthink. I'm still a smart person so I over analyse and think too much about little details. People say I'm weird(esp ladies). They say I go on and off. I'm just some complic piece of shit. Most times being an introvert makes me sad especially when I miss out on some opportunities(asking that girl out and stuff). But I've accepted myself as I am. Being introvert is not a curse, it's a blessing in its own little way. |
pryme:So you calling her an asshole magnet that attracts assholes? This will be a very interesting study... Assholemagnetic waves... |
It's good thing to love your job if you could. It's desirable. But as we all know it's not always the case. We at times find ourselves doing jobs that we didn't really want to. We don't get to choose most times. If you don't love what you do, there's really no problem about that, but just stay professional and do the best you can. Afterall, we are doing it for the money and as long as it keeps coming, that's the most important. We all work for the weekends. I don't think that you'd find someone working that's finds the weekend as hell and is psyched up to go to work on Mondays like " Oh can't wait to get to work on monday" Work is a means to an end. Not the end itself. |
dollytino4real:My dear please pick a number from 1 to 10... |
