I thought GEJ during his campaign said they ve boosted power supply and that Nigeria was generating about 3800 megawatts of Electricity as at February 2011, How come just hours after Election, the whole 3800 MW of Electricity supply disappeared? Since Sunday 17th April, We have returned to the Era of Epileptic power supply. Hardly can we boast of having Electricity for up to 4 hours in a day since after 16th April. This is Pathetic and the beginning of more deceit and business as usual. I stay in surulere and work on the Island. Its same story in both locations since Saturday night. This is the beginning of another era of suffering and looting of the Nigerian Treasury by Good luck and his cohort. Imagine since January 2011 we had Electricity constantly for at least 18hrs in a day cos of Election campaign strategy. From last Sunday 17th April, we went back to no power Era. This is indeed 'Goodluck' of course that have always been the case in Africa especially here in Nigeria. Empty promises,Selfishness , greed and wicked politicians we ve here in this part of the world. In the next couple of days the price of Petrol will move from N65 t0 N120 a litre. PDP |
I will soon be vindicated and justified as soon as this pretender called GEJ gets into power. We even heard that a litre of Pms could reach as high as N150. The multiplier effect will be felt on small items like chewing gum and a lof of bread that could each cost N30 and N500 respectively |
gernded:really? why did u say that? Do u have any thing to say that suggests my premise to be wrong? |
Im sure when we talk about the word DEREGULATION in Nigeria, does it bring any thing to our minds? sure it should ring a bell, more so in the minds of people that had being in this country since the return to democracy in 1999. Lets go memory lane You would recall that prior to the coming into power of late gen sani Abacha in 1993/94, we were buying a litre of Petrol for less than N10 but along the line, Gen Abacha Increased the price to N11 which remained stable till the era of Gen Abdulsalm Abubakar in 1998 after the demise of the former. Gen Abdulsalm Abubakar increased the pump price to N20/litre from N11 claiming that since are refineries arent working at full capacity/weren't working at all, the Govt was subsidizing the cost and therefore the consumers will have to bear part of the burden for the cost of importing refined petroleum products. Now came the Era of OBJ in 1999. Shortly after the new year's day in year 2000, Obj increased the pump price to N30/litre which was what led to the first nationwide strike called by the comrade Gov Adam oshiomole then as the NLC president. After staying at home for couple of Days the government reduced the price to N22 from the earlier announced N30. Yet there was an increment of N2 on the previous price under the immediate past regime of N20/litre. In order not to bore u with stories, u all know what later events that took place. We moved from one strke to another as well as one increment to another till we found the prices at N65/litre in August 2005 still under the regime of OBJ. The justification for the increment remained same. i.e our refineries requires Turn Around Maintenance(TAM), theres need to build new ones, there are cabals, theres need for Deregulation of the Sector etc. Obj increased price from N65 to N75 on his last day in office on May 29 2007. Yar adua was welcomed into office in 2007 with a nation wide strike two weeks into office before the price was reduced to N70/litre. Along the line there was still contemplation of further increment which involved a lot of dialogue with respective people concerned as it were very clear that there was no way the Down stream Sector will be deregulated without buying a litre a PMS for about N100 or N110 a litre. This fact caused delay under the Yar adua government as there was need for further dialogue. The AGO(diesel) had already been deregulated which is why the price floats above N100 a litre and could reach as high as N150/N160 a litre depending on international market price of crude oil, THIS IS WHERE IM GOING The recession came in 2008, the governors forum clamoured for the reduction of price of petrol which was acceded to by the Late Yar adua. This is the reason we now buy a litre of Fuel for N65 till now (April 2011). The reverse should have been the case if Yar adua were to be alive. You would recall that the Deregulation was scheduled to have taken place in September 2009, but was shifted as a result of the FIFA under 17 WCup which was hosted by Nigeria. The govt shifted it till November 2009 but the political events that took place also prevented its take off. Yar adua was Flown to Saudi Arabia 'for lesser hajj' and subsequently became incapacitated whilst in Saudi. There was tension at home. would there be acting president of Vice president etc. All these shifted the focus away from the issue. GEJ knew he would run for president, he decided to let the matter rest so any of his opponents wouldnt capitalized on this against him. However take it or leave it, since its still the same PDP since 1999, should GEj get into office in June 2011, Nigerians should be ready for Deregulation which will allow the forces of International crude oil price dictate the price of the refined product here in Nigeria. With the current price of A barrel of Crude oil over $90, theres no way we would buy a refined PMS in Nigeria for less than N100 a litre if the sucides are removed and theres no refinery in place here in Nigeria to boost Local production. |
mukina2:I'm sure and others too are sure that u are talking about no other person but uplawal. This is absolutely overzealousness on her part. A click on her latest posts shows how intolerable she is to everyone including her so called 'Muslim/Islamic Family'. Uplawal is this what ur qoran teaches? intolerance and hatred? SMH |
dayokanu:U must be looking for trouble by including the name in bold as part of ur Stay with Ileke idi or odunnu, else Bayern will not qualify For the UCL 2011/2012 season |
Thks odunnu and tpia. Really the thing is annoying. Yea this is not a 'formal' forum then we still need to educate ourselves. When Nigerians doesnt know the uses of Punctuation mark(s) our Educational System must have collapsed completely. Can we call it ignorance or simply poor orientation? Making a statement that isnt a question yet confusing the reader as to what the statement/Sentence trully connotes. We'll get there |
more still to come |
Cant remember my origanal ID's Password hence i had to post with this Its so annoying that alot of People that 'claims' to be educated still make unwarranted mistakes with the use of the Question mark (?) Obviously, the role of the question mark is to end a question. The question mark immediately follows the question, even when one question interrupts or comes after a statement. question marks are used for different reasons part of which is for indicating queries 1. Use the question mark when posing a direct query in an interrogative sentence. This denotes that the speaker is seeking information. Are there any letters for me this morning? When did you finish writing that report? 2. Use the question mark after a direct question which is inserted into a statement. If the question comes at the end, separate it with a comma. Capitalization of the question after the comma is used for extreme emphasis but is rarely recommended. Her boss wondered, Was she really doing her job the best she could? But what do we see on NL? people using it when they aren't supposed to. Imagine on this thread https://www.nairaland.com/nigeria/topic-638982.0.html#msg8059550 Dolemite:and see the response she got from someone well informed about its usage
^^^^ why the question mark after the sentence? It wasn't a question
Some times our very own supermods makes same error on the Home page. Picture Of Jide Kosoko In Street Fight? (on the homepage) Pls we use question mark at the end of sentences that are make enquiries or asking questions See more examples 3. If the inserted question comes in the beginning, put the question mark in the middle but do not capitalize the word following it. Was she really doing her job the best she could? Her boss wondered. Was she really doing the best she could? was the question. Using question marks for indicating rhetorical question Check this out! Aren't his paintings amazing? [Interested or surprised reaction] Aren't his paintings amazing. [Uninterested or musing reaction] Aren't his paintings amazing! [Indignant or exciting reaction] When not to use the question mark 1. Do not use a question mark in statements that contain indirect questions (written as declarative sentences). No: Her boss wondered whether she was really doing her job the best she could? Yes: Her boss wondered whether she was really doing her job the best she could. 2 Do not use (?) to express irony or sarcasm in serious academic writing. Most people find office filing a pleasant (?) assignment. or Most people find office filing as pleasant as having a bad case of the flu. 3 Do not use a comma after a question mark occurring in the middle of a sentence. "You didn't actually agree to that offer?" her boss asked incredulously. 4. Do not use a period after a question mark occurring in the end of a sentence, even if followed by quotation marks. Did you actually take that offer? You can read more on the following sites http://www.wikihow.com/Use-Question-Marks-Correctly Although the question mark is one of the easiest punctuation symbols to use in writing, it's easy to misuse it. In part, this may be due to to trying to make it work harder when it doesn't need to be used, or it just might be because it's not well understood that not all question type statements need a question mark. After reading this article though, you'll be much the wiser on knowing how to use a question mark correctly. But you knew that, didn't you?http://www.ehow.com/how_5953_question-mark.html Most simply, use the question mark after a direction question, as in, "Does your chewing gum lose its flavor on the bedpost overnight?" Use a period rather than a question mark after an indirect question, such as, "He asked whether I would like to take a flying leap." Opt for a period rather than a question mark for a courteous command that's disguised as a question. For example, "Will you please turn in your tests now." Jot down a question mark, sometimes within parentheses, to indicate uncertainty about a fact. For example, "In her former life she was born in 1211 (?) in a tiny Norwegian village." Place the question mark inside the quotation marks only if it's part of the quotation. Otherwise, it goes outside the quotation marks. For example, "He wondered, 'Why me?'"http://grammar.ccc.commnet.edu/grammar/marks/question.htm http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Question_mark http://www.englishclub.com/writing/punctuation-question-mark.htm I hope this helps |

From my observation on Nl religion section few times i logged in, the number of folks mudley had fought or had negative exchanges with, should have completed one side of a football team if im not mistaking. i.e 11 These crossed across all sides(atheist, theist, deist, skeptics) if i may ask why mr mudley? is this how u really are in real world situation or just faking online? dont take offence as i asked based on my observations about u |
bawomolo:same reason the muslims got islam for muslim child board. |
Its a known fact that Pa Adeboye was one of those that pleaded with the church council on his behalf before Ituah was oustered from RCCG. Why then should the same person curse Ituah his spiritual son? |
^^U are very correct with that. I cant imagine what will become of the Religion Section without the xtians. |
OgaMadam:No theres none. When i joined NL & saw the islamic board, i taught christianity deserves to have a separate board too. I was told unpleasant story that Seun deliberately doesnt want that becos of traffic the current Religion board generates, so was i told by the moderators. I still dont understand why traffic would be given priority over peoples wishes. |
What if they do not heed to your call, what will happen? Will heaven fall? |
@bashy why go to Europe by road(ur location)? Do u want to die in the desert? |

Little i know of muki is for her fairness and objectivity. She used to be the moderator of a sporting section with V3 before now. Even now or then, people really commend her or may be that is why muki was elevated by seun to supermod. Others can talk about her i dont think she has changed. |
Read a post on the complaing thread made by op yesterday. He/she insulted one of the moderators. Could have been banned because of this. The post has been remoued, i searched the thread but one mod removed it i guess |
Ivynwa i saw your mail exchanges with occultist on a thread on the homepage. What you did is not new. i have seen people being exposed to be scamers and all sorts. Me think u got his feelings hurt for him to have revealed your real name. I'm sure he used that to show how powerful his cult his. lol. Onuhgo? |
