AgricultureRe: Organic Farm Manager Needed! by jethro2: 2:59pm On May 28, 2017
An organic farm is the most stressful farm to operate.
An acre of "fully organic" farm should have atleast 4 workers and a manager.
Please note the itemised "fully organic"
I operate an organic farm and know what it means.
But please don't mind me

First leave the land.
Find somewhere to learn intensive practical of growing your desired crop
Get all the basic from soil management
Soil treatment
Irrigation
Seed selection
Pest and disease control
Etc
Then you can go back to farm

Hi Jethro, nice work.

Is your training for general farm managers or strictly for tomato farmers

For those of us who might want to sponsor a trainee with the intention of hiring them, do you have any training course on how to manage the farm managers.
The training is for general farm manager.
No. We don't have training course on how to manage the farm managers.

Thank you for your prompt response.

Please is your one month training still available?

I would have preferred a two weeks practical training because I currently work full time with an organisation and I can only take a fews days leave in a year. This is my constraint.

Thank you.
Yes. We do have trainings on the farm. The training is from a month -3months depending on the participants choice.

You can choose to stay how many days you are convenient with.
We regularly take in new intake at the beginning of a session. Next batch will be resuming by May 8th 2017.

cultivating with rain is like gambling. sometimes we win and sometimes we lose.

You alone can not manage 3 acres of tomato successively.

Please first take time to learn from someone who has done it successfully so you don't throw that funds down the drain.

bassman2017:
Hello, Jethro2, I am really impressed with your thread, you are doing a wonderful job. I have a few questions

1. Is it advisable to cultivate tomatoes in ogbomoso around april (wet season) while hoping to rely only on rain for water source

2. I have about N400k to invest in the cultivation of 3arces of land for tomatoes however, I know that it is beneficial to provide irrigation for tomatoes, but I cannot raise the funds required to provide irrigation? What do you advise.

Thank you

I already bought 200g of Roma VF Technisem seeds from agritropic and I have begun land preparation

NB:this is my first comment on your thread.

Thanks
Though the problem is that no hybrid at technism shops and most ones u see are 10g which is costly when trying to buy 200g

And I was told that hybrid can only be available month end so I was contemplating keeping part of the available land busy to avoid losing it to someone else

@jethro2 good afternoon Pls based on comparative analysis what do u think about pointset cucumber compared with hybrid using the same yard stick of farming for comparison
If you can afford the cost I would say go for hybrid mist especially if you are planting now. Point set is an open breed and has low yield compare to any other hybrid

MARY'S BOY CHILD

Mary's boy child Jesus Christ, was born on Christmas Day.
And man will live for evermore, because of Christmas Day.

Long time ago in Bethlehem, so the Holy Bible said,
Mary's boy child Jesus Christ, was born on Christmas Day.

Hark, now hear the angels sing, a king was born today,
And man will live for evermore, because of Christmas Day.

Mary's boy child Jesus Christ, was born on Christmas Day.

While shepherds watch their flocks by night,
They see a bright new shining star,
They hear a choir sing a song, the music seemed to come from afar.

Hark, now hear the angels sing, a king was born today,
And man will live for evermore, because of Christmas Day.

Oh a moment still worth was a glow, all the bells rang out
There were tears of joy and laughter, people shouted
"let everyone know, there is hope for all to find peace".

Now Joseph and his wife, Mary, came to Bethlehem that night,
They found no place to bear her child, not a single room was in sight.
And then they found a little nook in a stable all forlorn,
And in a manger cold and dark, Mary's little boy was born.

Hark, now hear the angels sing, a king was born today,
And man will live for evermore, because of Christmas Day.

Mary's boy child Jesus Christ, was born on Christmas Day.

Oh a moment still worth was a glow, all the bells rang out
There were tears of joy and laughter, people shouted
"let everyone know, there is hope for all to find peace".

Oh my Lord...
