hamzatkayode: acaolly1:Zoom off. We are discussing serious issues |
hamzatkayode:So failures must be compared with failures? Hmnnnnn I reason with matured people not kids that come to spurt jargons because they have access to internets Do me a favour, don't ever quote me again until when you are matured to be in the midst of adult |
dguy4:Thank you for this. Most are just talking for sentimental purpose. They think everyone is same. Oyo State people are suffering. GES farmers stuff never get to farmers. Workers are suffering Pensioners are crying Oyo state has resources that could be developed but the government would rather wait for oil money Massive land in Oyo State for Agriculture Oyo State farmers are the largest producers of Maize, Yam, cassava etc. Oyo state have Shea nut They produce charcoal But the government prefer abandoning the resources and wait for crumbs from the federal government whereas gold are wasting in his backyard. What happened to generating resources through agriculture? I got to rest my case |
Like earlier said, majority of Ibadan people are not literate, they have no access to internet and therefore could not express themselves. I bet it most of the people commenting don't live in Oyo State. I also note most keep saying Ibadan and Ibadan all over. Ibadan is a developed place and Ajimobi polished it to show off to the outside world. Please visit the other constituencies and spend a day with the masses. Please understand i said the masses and not party members. Most that are attesting to Ajumobis good work has a direct link or connection where they are getting their largesses. Ibadan has 33 LGA. How does the paparazzi in Ibadan represent the development of the majority. Do me a favour, visit or get in touch with the other local government areas and get to live their life. The 4 years -1 today. God will spare us all A change in whatever direction would have brought hope to my people. My people have taken their faith in their hand. They understand they have weary days ahead with Ajimobis government. My prayer is God will send a messiah to the talakawas, A person after their heart not the greedy selfish people that keep showing face. We will pray for a better person irrespective of party and God will grant their heart desire. For the Government We say more grease. |
Supremor:I can understand you because you are not here. Ajimobis government is for few people. He has the highest votes not the majority votes. Akala, Ladoja , Teslim are recycling new wine in an old bottles. But they for selfish reasons could not work together to bring a new breed. Makinde would have been it if they rally round him. But they were all self centred. In some of my earlier post you will see itemise things that could make a big difference in peoples life. Oyo is big but the governor did not try. Its only in Ibadan and the cities that Ajumobi governs not the rural dwellers |
alrahmanonline:Please be civil in arguing your point. Calling someone outright a lier because he express himself speak so much about you. People are expressing their opinion. Be matured please |
haftob:True. Their selfish interest has cost the masses. The masses are left with their fate. Tomorrow this people will compensate themselves with appointment while my people wallow in pain and hunger. Nobody smile or jubilate in my place today. The sadness was written all over. I dont belong to any party but i feel their pains. It was like a death sentence. I have never seen people so sad yet they could not voice it out. |
Oyo state has massive land that could be developed but how will a governor that visit his constituence once in 4 years know what to do. Their are deathtraps of bridges that links Oyo State to Ogun State and Kwara State. Oyo state have the majority of farmers but they work with hoe and cutlass 14 tractors each were claimed to be bought. But after the paparazzi only 1 remain in each local government. Rig are in the local governments yet borehole were not supply to the community. Electricity in most part of Oyo State is once in a week Oyo State produce the largest cassava in the south west yet no processing factory to mop it up Government job is only for party members and their croonies I weep for my people because i feel their pain Chairmanship and councillor reps are appointed by the government. Ajimobis development in majority of the Local government was a motor park that was recently built I can keep on and on. |
The OP is right. 80% of the people are not happy with Ajimobi. I live in Oyo State. Ajimobi is a paparazzi government. But Akala, Ladoja, Teslim and Makinde selfish interest cost the state another 4year of hardship. They split the parties into groups The masses are feeling the brunts of Ajimobi Salaries are owned. Pension are not paid Workers are on temporary appointment He employed them some month prior to election. I feel the pain of my people Poverty is at the highest level. Ajimobi is for the rich I am not an indigene and i dont work for the government. But Oyo people are suffering. Please and please dont quote me for ezpressing myself I wouldnt have written but most people felt the OP is lying Primary school children stay under the tree as classroom Its really sad Most Oyo people are not too literate so could not be online Oyo State is suffering At OP I salute your courage for speaking out I pray God will send Oyo people a messiah Your leaders are the most self centred people in Nigeria. Oyo people are hardworking Ajimobi did not perform. He rode on Buharis victory The masses are suffering |
AreaFada2:No. I don't manage farms. |
hajlat:Please could you explain. One can get a ploughable land in Ifo for N5,000 per acre is what you are saying? I am asking because i dont understand. I dont think this requires picture uploading. |
mwatkins:What type of vegetable farm? Irrigated farm or rain fed? What type of seed will be use? Hybrid or open field? Labour availability in your area? Type of fertilizer? Synthetic or organic? Your Soil type and treatment required? Is it a staked or unstaked vegetable? What type of bed to be use? Is it one season planting or a continuous one? These are some of the factors that determines what the cost will be to take an acre of any vegetable. please help attend to some of these question and we might be able to breakdown the cost to suit your purpose. |
jasper7:Thank you my Oga |
Fhemmmy:You got the gist sir. I think she got it mixed up. An acre lease in Ifo could be N5,000 but not a ploughable acre in Ifo for N5,000 |
hajlat:If you can get a ploughable acre of land for 5k in Ifo please jump at it. I can almost bet the trees are not yet removed. Please find out how much it cost to uproot trees from an acre of land in Ifo and possibly give the feedback on the forum. We can then compare |
bamdexfarms:For ploughable land? No. Ploughable means land that has been cleared and all trees removed. It cost a lot to clear open up farmland not to talk of manually cleared |

jethro2:The vegetable agribusiness training has been will now be commencing on the 4th of May. We are sorry for the inconvenience |
Due to circumstances beyond our control and some management planning, the agribusiness vegetable training has been shifted to the 4th of May 2015. We are sorry for all the inconvenience. We want to give you all the best during your stay with us. Trainee will have access to arable half acre of land to practice on their own. We look forward to meeting you then. Thank you 08064688502 08188540096 |
saliubello:Thank you for explaining this. I am glad someone could relate with what happens in the rural stead. |
I really appreciate every one contribution and I believe we all express in our opinion what we felt might have been the best solution. Its better not to make an enemy of a community where one is investing so much. Reason: We all need each other to survive. What's the essence of the electric fence when you have to be on the defense or in constant preparation for war. With my little experience relating with the Fulani herdsmen I understand they are very friendly when you take time to reason with them. They will go out of their way to protect you and your properties once you are friends. I have had series of discussions with them and they are eager and willing to plant grasses for their cows. They will gladly restrict the cows to some area if they have access to drinking water for the cows. They also said cows are bigger when the wandering stress is reduced. Some of them pay to farmers to purchase maize stalk and cassava peels for the cows. The plan is to sink some boreholes at some designated areas so herds men can fetch for their animals. Its just that there is little that a group can do. That's what prompt the write ups I envisage and foresee a mutual benefitting relationship in peaceful co existence of the two communities. |
paulsir:A lot of people offers N2000 per kg on Agriculture section yet they couldn't get enough. Check Agriculture section |
OLAMIMO12:Are you alright? Please don't let me get into you. Don't ever mention me irresponsibly again. I asked if you are an expert farmer or an intending farmer? Do watch your mouth. I seriously don't take to be insulted especially by kids A word is enough. |
@ Soloxam. Please attend to the new farmers questions on this thread. Seed and whatever information on watermelon. I know you have offices in the Northern part. Please link them up for seed. Thank you Soloxam: |
OLAMIMO12:@ Olamimo. I thought you are new in farming or an intending farmer. Have you cultivated water melon before?. I read your post where you were asking for experience farmers to be of assistance. How come you are all over thread giving advises to suppose intending farmers? Please I am kind of confused. |
Trainees will be alloted land to practise what have been demonstratef if they so desire. Dont be left out. Make a date with April 20th in Ago Amodu. Saki East LGA of Oyo State. |
mfm04622:Seems easy but not that easy. There are lot of things involve |
webhostbiz:You are welcome sir |
Practice practice practise Practise on a very small scale. practice the exact crops you want to plant Understand the techniques and use the sample produce to source for market. Research on what the markets demand. Don't plant because someone gave you an overbloated figures. Acquire intensive practical knowledge in what you want to invest in Make friends with practicing farmers and visit the farm to see the structures and settings. Presence of water alone does not make irrigation. There are a lot entails. Get to understand the farm workings. Then you can venture into vegetables. Vegetables are short term produce. But they need 24hrs monitoring and maintenance. More hands are needed in the farm More money is spent to make large money from it. Its worth the effort but not as simple as it seems. Success |
