Please mommas kindly share your baby's teething experience as am a ftm and I am clueless right now. DD has being showing signs of teething but hospital is saying infection(trace), malaria(+1) and fever. Please help

If the hospital has conducted a test to make the conclusion then follow the medication prescribed to you.

The major thing I observed during teething is slight rise in temperature which could sometimes be accompanied with swollen gums and can cause baby discomfort. Paracetamol takes care of this and baby is fine.

No need of any kind of teething drugs, soap, bracelet and all sorts.

A lot times, mothers associate teething with stooling and this is likely to happen as a result of baby putting fingers in the mouth or picking dirts from the floor. You can curb this with teething rings and ensuring hygiene around your home and where you keep baby is top notch.

Just used tribotan for 4days tho but it's having no effect on d white patch. It's just on her face n behind her ears. I use ori for her

If you are using ori(shea butter) for her face. Stop it for now because we have been experiencing too much heat recently.
Its not compulsory to rub their face with oil/cream.

When you stop the ori, observe again, if the rashes persist even with administering tribotan then her bathing soap may be the culprit.

Cheers

you need to see me before and after...I now look older than my age even hubby is complaining. I’m thinking of registering him in daycare I pray it helps.

Daycare will help. Just make sure you do proper checks before registering him in one.

At least while he is there, you can breathe with ease, pamper yourself and rest your body.

It's a phase though and some babies remain clingy for a long time despite enrolling them in creche.

Once they sight you again during pick up, they resume being clingy.

Go easy on yourself...

Hello mama's in da house, am here again o with my plenty questions.
My DS is 7months old and has been having high temperature.
Took him to the hospital and the doctor gave us Artesunat and Emaquine.
But I have issues with the prescriptions
It say I should give him *17*ml of Artesunat 17 o not 7
And 8.5ml of Emaquine for 3days
Abeg make una no Waka pass
If 17 and 8.5ml not too much for a 7months old??!
Please help as I need to administer these drugs asap so he can feel better.
*NB: experienced mamas /pediatrician chook mouth

Was a lab test carried out before the prescription? If no, its better you see another doctor and insist on a test.

17ml is threemuch in my opinion. I want to believe it is a typographical error and a costly one at that. It is usually 5ml for that age.
I yamu not a doctor so please see another doctor. In the meantime, administer paracetamol syrup to bring the temperature down.

Good evening mamas...pls my baby has constipation he is 4months old......what else can I use to thru his bowel apart from water

Is your baby EBF?
If yes, you as the mum should take more fruits and vegetables.

If no, water is still your best option preferably lukewarm water first thing in the morning.

mothers d rashes on my DD is driving me crazy, going and coming she was barely 3months wen it all started and uptil nw still on it later discovered its dry skin, xstarted using dove soap and ori as cream, took her to see a dermatologist 2days ago, sebamed body wash and cream was prescribed, cud not get d body wash even in shoprite self but d rashes on her face is not making her look good at all mere seeing it brakes my heart pls wot can I use to clear d rashes on her face and dis on her leg

Stop the dove soap and Ori you are using.

If you are in Lagos, check healthplus or medplus for sebamed body wash. Big stockists of baby items usually have it too.

You also check there for jimpo ori. It has good recommendations from mamas here.

Aveeno baby soap have also worked for dry skin but go with the dermatologist's recommendations first.

Hello mamas, pls I need toy ideas for an 18 months baby girl. My baby no longer plays with the ones she has, spends time scattering things that she isn't suppose to.., so I just need something to gain her attention aside TV.

Also, Enugu mamas I'll like recommendations of good hospitals and schools around New Haven and it's axis. We are still new here.

Thanks.

Toy ideas for 18 months

Your bag, keys, paper, empty cups, empty pots, your phone, remote control and the likes. If you buy any toy, she will most likely abandon it within the first few weeks of using it.

Good afternoon mama's, grandma's.
Pls, i came across while searching for what to use for my 2yr old baby girl.
Pls house, I'm looking for a good body cream for her.
She do have rashes every now and then, I actually taught I was doing something wrong at 1st, but my doctor assured me that she is just like that.
He said I should even stop the antibiotics syrup, I should just maintain a good hygiene for her.
The last rashes and boil she had left her skin dry and somehow... I was advised to use Shea butter, I used it and it all cleared off.

Her skin is cleared now but kinda dull and I don't really like the smell of Shea butter and the way it makes her face especially oily after bath.
I just want a mild cream and soap that will smoothen, soften and brighten her skin.
Thanks

What soap do you use presently?

I believe any of the baby range of products in the market will be ok as they are mild on the skin. Just make sure you get the original of whatever you decide to buy.

I have enjoyed using sebamed baby soap for my almost 2yrs baby. For body cream, original coconut oil does a good job for us.

Make sure her daily meals are balanced too.

Hello Mothers!

Please can someone shade more light on nta for me and how to go about it.

My son will be 4 months old on Saturday. He's very agile, already sitting down, feeds well and play well. He's exclusively breastfed and I pump after feeding and give to him. He's gaining weight but not fat. someone told me, he probably has nta so I need to know about this nta and how to diagnose it.

I just discovered this thread few minutes ago and I'm a first time mum.

Thanks

With all you described especially the bolded, your baby is very alright.

All babies cannot be fat. Genetic factor has a role to play as well. A healthy and lively baby should be your focus.

Continue to feed your baby well, maintain good hygiene, stay healthy as a mum and watch your baby hit his milestones without stress.

Modified:
To put your mind at rest especially if your instincts tells you something is not right, please take your baby for a check with a paediatrician.

Cheers.

Happy Sunday Mamas..... My son is 3months plus he use to poo like 3times a day...but like 3 days ago he hardly poo Onces in a day and d poo colour is some how black ...pls is it normal

If you are doing EBF, improve your own intake of foods rich in fibre, vegetables and fruits.

If you are not doing EBF then increase the quantity of water he drinks. You can even make the water lukewarm especially first thing in the morning.

As per the poo color being somehow black, is it greenish black or black as in black? smiley if you are taking iron supplements, it may be the cause.

Gudafternun mamas in the house, pls help a ftm ,i gave birth 4weeks ago.I ave two questions to ask(1)is it ok for baby to poo up to 3 times a day during feeding or immediately after each feeding, though the poo re always nt much and yellowish in color with egusi like particles(2) I notice my little one has been seriously sneezing and coughing, pls how do I tackle the catarrh and cough .tank u mamas

Welldone mama and congratulations.

As regards your questions, 1) it is ok for baby to poo up to 3 times or even more in a day.

1a) the poo consistency of your baby is normal and very ok.
read more about it here: https://www.babycenter.com/baby-poop-photos

2. Be sure to keep baby away from direct breeze from fan/ac. Wrap him well depending on the weather to prevent baby from having cold.

You mentioned catarrhh, is the baby's nose runny? If yes you may need to do steam inhalation or drop some quantity of olbas oil/eucalyptus oil around the corners of the room.
A lot of times, the sneezing from baby is just to show they are clearing their airways. If it bothers you so much, please see a doctor.
