Good day mama. Trust we are fine. Please I need recommendation for butter brand I could add to my baby's food. She's underweight. Thank you.

Butter brands available in most supermarkets are: lurpark, President, kerry gold, oldenburger, anchor etc.
All these have salted and unsalted variations. Be sure to select the unsalted one for your baby.

As to your baby being underweight, have you checked with a pead to ensure you are addressing the root cause?

Cheers.

experience mums in the house pls I beg of u in d name of God attend to my request. I don't know wot else to use for this tin on my DD body, she's 1yr 8mon, pls don't look and pass help me with treatment

The affected areas look very dry and scaly. It is most likely as a result of sweat. A good amount of sheabutter and baby tribotan works well.
Don't hesitate to see a pediatrician too so you can be sure on appropriate treatment.

Get a second opinion. If you're in Lagos go to Guiness eye centre in Luth, Eye foundation in GRA (theres also one in Ibadan) or theres one Catholic eye hospital around Iju area. Unfortunately I can't remember the name but it's quite popular

Those people will be able to give you great advise

Ancillia Catholic hospital eye centre
Off iju road, agege. They have another Branch at lekki too.
They have qualified personnel, well equipped and quite affordable.

You can get from the ff places:
Shoprite
Fruit markets
Fruit stalls in your community
Those mallams selling green pepper, carrots, spring onions etc do have it at times.

Hello Mama's, I've been crying since morning. My son will be 3months old in few days time. 7 days after his birth, we noticed his nose was blocked. My neighbor asked us to drop silverbird on that soft spot pulsating on his head. Later, she said we should mix one small cap (that of the silverbird with his baby oil). MIL apply it on his head 2ce daily. I later discovered few weeks ago that the oil haa burnt is scalp badly. I've stopped using it but I'm not happy cos he has burns and its peeling anytime I comb d hair. He use to have a full, black long hair but now d hair is cutting. The most scary one is the soft spot.. It's peeling too. I'm taking him to d hospital on Thursday cos we have an appointment then. Please, what can I apply on his scalp for now. Please.

I've made mistakes as a FTM, I won't allow anyone dictate what to do to my baby once I give birth to my second baby.

shocked cry cry
Why wait till Thursday? Today is just Monday o..

Silverbird(eucalyptus oil is an essential oil and very potent too) never administer essential oils directly on the skin. Even when mixing with carrier oils, a drop or two is ok.

Again, check if its cradle cap too. You can apply plenty oil(i use coconut oil) and then comb out.
wash with baby hair shampoo afterwards.

when you are less busy, go thru past posts on this thread prior to when you joined. Note down what has worked and what hasn't in different scenarios. You will learn a thing or two. (That's what i did)

Mamas, una good evening o.. Pls what can i do to make DS eat? He's practically not eating anything except breastmilk n he's 7 months. He's teething but sh8uod I give breastmilk till the teething stops? What else can I do, he's loosing weight already... Pls don't ignore

Good evening mama.

What complimentary foods have you tried introducing to him? You have to keep varying it till you discover what he enjoys.

Tombrown from zaynie, AS foods, babygrubz foods have had good recommendations from mamas here

fruit purees, mashed potato etc is usually a hit with babies too.

The quantity they usually eat at his age is not so much during each meal so just take it gradually.

Start him on formula milk if you havent so he doesnt depend solely on BM.

For teething pains, give him calpol paracetamol.

Mama's in the house, pls my 9month nose is stuffy, her mouth as been open all day, what can I do to relieve her,she is not taking any meal.pls help

is she running temperature at intervals? Have you tried steam inhalation or nasal drops too?
since she's not taking any meal, that's a sign of discomfort and loss of appetite.
I will advice you take her to the hospital and run tests for malaria and infection so the doctor can prescribe the right medication.

cheers

What!!!3 months.I really need to learn oh. I put it in the middle of the sponge while she bath and put it back in the pack as soon as we are done. I don't air dry it, just cover it up after use. Thanks so much sis, I'll try this style tonight.

I guessed right.
That putting soap in middle of the sponge na big waste. You are washing off the soap with water at the same time you want it to lather.

Sebamed doesnt work that way even the one used by adults.

The soap gets soft and kinda melts when it is covered up in the soap case so its better to leave the soap case open so it gets dry.

Cheers

As at last week, the soap was #1,925 while the cream was 2900.I got the one they wrote healing cream on coz of the rashes then.My baby use a soap for 3 weeks although we shower morning and night.

Do you air dry the soap in its case or you cover it up after using?
Just wet your sponge, rub the soap on the sponge so it can lather well, return soap to its case and then bathe baby.
3wks is too short o even if you use it morning and night.
we have been using ours max 3MONTHS.

Good evening mothers pls I need ur advice o my baby is 8 months, he eats millet pap and milk and adult food sometimes I tried introducing new cereals like nutribom he refused to eat it one day I had to force him to eat it, while sleeping he vomited it on d bed and slept back now he no more wants to eat pap again he wants only breastmilk because of recent I hav been breastfeeding him a lot, today I bought cerelac he totally blocked his mouth and was shaking his head I had to start beating him for him to cry so I could force it into his mouth we fought seriously pls o I can’t be doing dis every time I need help and tomorrow he is going to crèche I don’t know if Dey can handle him well pls wat can I do mother’s

You don't need to beat him because of him refusing food pls. 8months old for that matter.
He may not like the taste of what you have been giving him for now. Babies are funny, what they seem to enjoy taking this week may be utterly rejected the following week.

it seems you haven't prepared him for creche because he needs to have one or two foods he will readily eat even if he rejects others.

Is he taking milk formula apart from breastmilk?
Have you tried fruit purees for him? e.g apple, banana etc.
There are other naija baby food brands that can also try.AS and the likes

pls wear patience like agbada if you want to feed a baby. It can be annoying and frustrating yet bear with your baby. He will improve with time.

Well, he goes to crèche till about 5/6 when we get home n he changes his Diaper around 1/2 only if he didn't poo.. All brands I've tried in terms of Diaper has failed me due to leaking ranging from molfix to huggues to asda little angel, then one Chinese one like that that's written in Chinese..Next time I go, I'll ask for the blue little angel, maybe that one won't leak.... Who knows if its not the plenty Diaper that's causing the rash.....when the tribotan clears the rash, it leaves mark, now his bumbum is full of patches of colors like the chest... That's y I'm reasoning sudocreme.... If u have recommendations for Diaper that doesn't leak, it would be appreciated greatly so I can buy all when I go out tmr... Thank you ma

Considering the bolded, it suggests to me that his diaper gets soooo filled up with urine before you deem it fit to change.

If my assumption is right then there's no way the diaper wont leak no matter the quality of diaper you are using.

Again, urine can equally irritate the skin if it stays too long so please endeavour to check his diaper often at least every 3-4hrs and change it if necessary.

Too much heat sef can cause rashes. Endeavour to also air his bum for like 30mins when you reach home.

Good evening sabi mamas. please whats the difference between ring circumcision and ordinary circumcision? Someone advised me to go for the ring one but the hospital i checked out for that said they don't do ring one but ordinary one. Pls any idea on this issue will be helpful to me

Both methods are ok. One of the difference of the two is that the ring/plastibell method involves having a cap on the pe.nis after the surgery and you will have to wait till it comes off by itself usually within 3-7days. This method looks neater in my opinion.

The other conventional method has the pe.nis bare after the surgery so it is usual for one to get bothered about diaper touching it.

For whichever method used. The pain is real and the aftercare is very important. You will be appropriately guided by the doctors and nurses.

Good evening sabi mummies and daddies in the building,

My wife just lost her job today and we have a 7 months old daughter who has been attending creche since 2 months ago due to her mum work. The current creche is a bit far from home because it's closer to her mum former office but I'm confused if we should look for a good creche nearby or let her stay at home with mummy for now.

My thinking is that she will be able to learn and develop more playing with other kids of her age instead of staying at home alone with mummy.

Daddy don't be confused. Everything will be fine.
Look for another good creche nearby to save on transportation costs.
While baby is in the creche, your wife will find it easier to look for another job or take classes to upgrade her skills or even plan to set up her own enterprise.

All the best.

Please mama what do I use apart from agnessia powder for my baby diaper rash it looks pinkish raw and itchy.whenever I remove her diaper she starts scratching it seriously and crying

Try to air your baby's bum for 30mins-1hr daily.
Make sure diaper is changed as soon as it gets soiled i.e. dont leave it on for too long.
Make use of baby tribotan for the rash.
Instead of agnesia powder, i will suggest diaper/barrier creams such as sudocrem, zin&castor oil, blue seal vaseline and the likes

OK I will. Thank you... But how will I know it's the real court's stamp?

At the High court, those typists outside will help you type cos they already have the formats on their laptops( you only need to give them your details) but insist on taking the printed copy inside the court by yourself to have it stamped by the commissioner of oaths.
Go along with your passport photos.

Its virtually the same process at alausa too. The commissioner of oaths office is right behind the ministry of justice and those that help with typing are under a tree close by.
