Mamas cone to my aid my son has this rash in his bum
area and armpit, I've used sudocream, breast milk and also air their bum regularly but its still spreading. What can I do cos seeing them like this breaks my heart

Sorry for the graphic pix I'll take it down shortly

It's better to take him to the hospital so they can prescribe the right ointment.

Have you tried mupirocin ointment? Pls check with a doc before administering though some mamas here testified that it worked well for them.

Hope its not that their caregiver allows his diaper stay for too long before changing or you may need to change the brand of diaper you are using. He may be reacting to it.

modified:

Check his foods too. It may be an allergy.
be sure to wash and disinfect his clothings thoroughly as well so it doesnt keep spreading.

e ku itoju.
cheers.

Good evening everyone, compliments of the season! Please i need help. My daughter is 13months old and is very underweight. She isn't feeling too well presently and the doctor said she is 2.5kg underweight. She doesn't really eat much but its worse now that she isn't feeling too well. Now she doesn't even take tea. She just wants breast milk. Please any advice on what to do?

Compliments of the season to you too.
Since you have seen a doctor,I'm quite sure she must have been given some medications.

As per eating, pet her more, she will eat. Since she's 13months, you can give her full cream milk too, e.g. peak123 aside breastmilk.

Have you tried giving her pap, banana puree, apple puree, fried plantain?

You can also go back to the doctor to complain very well about her loss of appetite, they know what to administer.

Cheers

Just coming online sorry

I assume you're referring to pull ups?

Nope, some creches insist but those things are hella expensive. Mine just said we should do regular pant

Thank you Sis. Yea, I was referring to pull-ups.
As i see price and calculated the amount that will be needed, GP spirit entered my mind so I decided to ask.

I'm sorry o just like Roseey0 I also have to force feed my girl, if I don't she doesn't mind going on an empty stomach all day. angry I don't know how else to go about it.

She might like something for one or two days, after that she won't collect it again. I've experimented with almost every food and fruits available to me. It's only swallow and ewedu she accepts willingly and everytime and even that is not more than one adultsized morsel, or two if she's happy with you and very occasionally. (is that not too small?). Oh she likes boiled egg yolk too.

I feel bad though, cos feeding time is messy and full of crying. forcing spoon through her lips especially when she stubborn jams it close scares me but I have to. Human being has to eat, and she can't be eating swallow morning afternoon and night. embarassed

What has been helping me is knowing that its just a few tablespoons that is needed to get them full. What actually pisses me off is the amount of time it takes to get them to finish the few tablespoons.

If it is swallow that she likes, keep giving her o and dont stress yourself. What is important now is getting food into her stomach. Everything will balance up as time goes by.

For instance, you can debone her fish and mash it with the few morsels of swallow to give her. She don eat protein and carbs be dat.

rice, plantain, moimoi can be made to look like swallow too. Have you tried that too.
You can trick her and hide some other foods inside the semo too.

Sometimes, just leave her in the chair and put finger foods like pieces of plantain in front of her. She will turn ot upside down but can make attempt to pick it up to eat.

Give her the other foods in her play play moments. A few teaspoons is ok too.

By the time she starts creche, it gets better too. My ds eats well at creche o but at home, its another kettle of fish. Our fight now is collect one spoon, jump about for 10mins before settling to collect another one. Laslas, he will collect the spoon, struggle to feed himself then pours the food on the floor...infact...plenty story
all I know is I do all i can to get him to put food in his stomach.

cheers.

Thank you mama.
Have seen a doctor, everything came out fine except her throat that appeared redish and she prescribed some antibiotics. We are done with it still no improvement.

I will suggest you go back to the doctor so her throat can be checked again to be sure it healed up completely

I used nestle nan, we have been on it since her 5th month , she take it, am just concerned about the quantity she takes per time. 120ml.

Since she takes it well, just increase the number of times she takes it. I have attached a pic to guide you.

Do you think she will take more if I change brands?

As for food introduced so far
Apple puree..she took it at first, but rejected it few spoons.
Banana too.
Nutribon wheat_ that's the only one I can be singing and giving her and she will open mouth small.
Then just recently Ogi Baba which she rejected too.

hope she didn't react to the nuttibon wheat cos most times, wheat is advised from 8months.
1-4tbsps of the foods is ok for her.
she will improve as times goes on

I will keep trying. Thank you for the response
Its a pleasure mama. My ds is 19months and the wahala i still do to get him to eat no be small. It can be frustrating at times but just be calm. It will get better.

My baby has rejected all the solid I have tried giving her.
She is even underweight, hasn't doubled her birth weight yet she won't take anything except breast milk or formula embarassed
Even the formula self , she doesn't finish more than 120ml per feed.

Any suggestions as to what to add
Multivitamins or anything to make her eat.
Whatever that has worked for you pls share, let me keep trying.
I have been force feeding her. Our feeding time is always messy.

It is not all babies that take to complimentary feeding i.e. semi-solids immediately. You have to keep trying. Please note that their stomachs are still small so few spoons of what you give them is actually ok. Your baby is still learning so stop the force feeding. I'm sure you dont feel happy when you do that.

What foods have you been trying for her?

I started with apple puree and banana puree before we graduated to other foods. Have you tried cereals too?

As it pertains to her milk, have you tried changing to another brand probably she may take it better. Most of these formula taste differently from one another. You may try another. I tried 3 different ones before i settled for the one my ds used up till he was 1+.

Multivitamins will only supplement what is lacking in terms of nutrients.

Have you tried getting someone else to feed her. At times, their shakara is less when another person feeds them.

You can also try visiting a pead to rule out any case of illness since you mentioned she hasn't doubled in weight yet.

Cheers mama

Hi ma'am. I tried this combo for my 10 months old baby but reacted to it. Soybeans was even added to it. Though, I introduced my baby to Aptamil milk and this modernised pap dat includes d things above. He reacted to one of these.

It is usually better to try foods for your Lo individually rather than using combos. This will enable you to fish out the culprit easily. It is when you have established that they don't react to the food that it becomes safe to combine.

Dear Mamas, please how did you manage Post Partum Depression? cry

Open up about it to your hubby. Most times, they understand what is going on and can help with assuring words that will make you feel better.

Focus your mind on good thoughts.

Visit your own family e.g. your parents or siblings. They have a way of cheering you up.

Say a word of prayer to your father in heaven about it.

Everything is going to be alright. Don't succumb to fears or sadness.

Good afternoon mamas, please how do I know the number of scoops of formula to add to my baby's pap?

We are 4months and we want to start pap next week.
Thank you.

It depends on the quantity of pap you are giving per time. You add just enough formula to sweeten it a bit.

Personally, i didn't add formula to my ds pap when he started taking it at 6 months. There were times he didnt finish the usual quantity i prepare for him and then had to pour away or drink it myself cheesy
To me, it looks like a waste. Formula is expensive considering the number of tins i had to buy weekly.
I gave him pap separately and then milk separately. It worked for us that way.

Baby Oat ( blended to powdered form) a little baby formula and yoghurt.

This is a very lovely healthy recipe. A mama dragged me one certain time about my comment concerning babies allergy to oats.. It's not my fault..anything to protect our babies.. I was doubting oats for babies initially cus I read about baby allergy caused by oats so I was sceptical about it and adviced against it but I tried later and there was no effect.. my baby loves it. You can as weĺl try it.

I limited giving oats to my baby just once in a week because the consistency of his poo whenever he takes it is always very watery. I understand that it is a good source of fibre so it definitely helps when babies are constipated too.

Good morning experienced mamas, please i have this rashes in between my two breast. its very itchy and painful and its beginning to spread like wild fire. Has anyone experienced this? if so, what did u use.

Also, my 6 weeks old baby weighs 4.2kg. My mum thinks she's small as she's being exclusively breastfed. issit sth to worry abt?

Thanks for ur awaited responses

You can use the adult tribotan. It will clear. Allow plenty cool air too.
Its excessive heat and sweat that causes it.
More like what we call ela in yoruba and dermatitis in english.

I think she likes pasta......and me I'm antiproceased food. Try to feed at least once a day.
Thanks

Just try to sneak in other foods into the pasta and you end up having varieties.

Pasta bolognese, jambalaya pasta.. cheesy

on a serious note, you can add foods like carrot, peas, eggs etc into the pasta so it becomes more nutritous
