mamas please helpoooo.
I started giving my baby formula (NAN 1) because my bm was not coming out. Have tried severally to stop the formula but she will always shout until I give her the formula after breastfeeding , sometimes 20-30 minutes after breastfeeding. Today's own was worst, I concluded that I won't give the formula today but at last I couldn't hold it because of her cry. meanwhile my bm is coming out well. she is just 3 weeks and 5 days.
please mamas is there something else I need to do?

Express the breastmilk inside her feeding bottle and give her.

good evening mummy's, I want to be giving my 6 months baby only pap since I can't afford the baby milk again I hope it will be OK for him....

Awww...pap alone wont be sufficient o. Your baby needs at least 500ml of milk per day at his age. Look for a brand that isnt so pricey e.g my boy eldorin. If you are lactating well, breastmilk is also still ok. Make sure you are eating well.

since he's 6months,start him on semi solids like amala, semo with ewedu and fish. Apple puree etc so he gets a balanced diet.

I pray God to supply all your needs and bless you with more than enough.

Cheers

Good evening mamas

My princess came from creche with these scars. Her teacher said she sat on bleach while walking into the bathroom. I'm so angry ehnnn.. Please what can I use on it

The picture is not loading oh but its burnt

My mouth is hanging wide open..haaa..

What kind of carelessness is this? Why didnt they take her to the clinic immediately it occurred or called to notify you when it happened.

How can we be sure they told the truth...
i really doubt its bleach,it seems to me like caustic soda used in making soap.

Dem fit kill for that kain creche o. Pls report them to the authorities.

To the hospital straight so she can be properly treated.

Good afternoon sabi mama's in the house.
We have been doing exclusive since and i tried introducing water and formular for him today, the guy man refused to take it oo.

My question now is how can I make him take it and how many ml should i start with?
I want him to get use to it before I resume work.

NAN is saying from 3 - 4months is 180ml, how will I achieve that when he can't even take 1ml bikonu.

Thanks.

He will eventually take it. For water, keep giving him till he gets used to it. You can also try giving him when he's half awake. He will have finished the water before he realises it wasn't breastmilk. The moment he realises,na to commot mouth..lol

As for formula, start with 30ml so you dont keep pouring away if he doesnt take it well. Also try allowing someone else bottle feed him when you are not close by. Like tonight, allow his dad bottle feed him.

one more question, just to be clear. Milk here means formula right? Can I also use breastmilk?

Formula or breastmilk for her age. You can use full cream milk after she clocks 1

Just have it mind that it's similar to how you prepare oats.

wow this is new.. do you mean babies can eat semovita as a form of cereal? And from what age?

6months and above can take it

Semolina Porridge( Cook Time 10 minutes)

INGREDIENTS

2 tbsp semolina
1 cup water
1/2 cup milk
3 Raisins optional

INSTRUCTIONS

Boil water in a sauce pan

Once the water starts rolling, add Semolina and keep stirring

Make sure the flame is low. This prevents from semolina getting stuck to the bottom of pan

Add milk, and stir for another couple of minutes

Turn off the flame. Add chopped raisins

Porridge is ready to be fed

(Some people add butter as well)

You can take it as an adult too.

Good morning mamas, I'm officially reporting to this thread. My Lo will be 2weeks tomorrow by God's grace and I've got few questions to ask.

1. His hands shake at times, as if someone is trembling. What could be the cause and what can I do to stop it?

2.= He will be circumcised tomorrow, how do I help him ease the pain? I can't stop thinking about the pain he's likely to go through.

3. There's a way he rolls his eyes that get me scared, please is it something to worry about?

Sabi mamas Abeg help me, May God bless us all.

mamas please help me.

The answer you have been given from other mamas will suffice.

stay strong tomorrow o,don't go and do cry cry at the hospital. Try and go with someone so you won't be soo tensed up.
if possible, walk far away from where the procedure will carried out. You won't be able to withstand your baby yelling if he does. Some baby are so brave that they cry a little.
Be sure to ask about the process of after-care and follow it.

Cheers.

Evening all

Pls I need opinion from mamas who are familiar with our immunisation schedule.

My lo has Rotarix scheduled for his 13th week(last one was 9th week) and has the other routine ones (opv, pcv n pent i think) for 14th week (last one was 10th week).

The issue here is that I can't get both days off work so I want to know can all be taken at the 13th week(the routine ones wud be 3 weeks then) or can all be taken at the 14th week?

Must it always be spaced by 4 weeks or 4 weeks is just a minimum? If it's minimum, is there a maximum time frame?

Thank you all

Rotarix is given orally so just take everything in the 14th week.
That way, you complete the minimum time to receive a 2nd dose of the other vaccines.

cheers.

mommas in d castle, please how gud is boot cream on babies and seba med

You never can tell the outcome/reactions with using body cream on babies regardless of the brand name even when it is specifically made for them.

I bought sebamed range of products for my ds when he was born but I only used the baby soap. Its over a year now and all I have used as body cream for him is coconut oil and sometimes sheabutter.

No skin issues whatsoever save for once in a green moon dry skin caused by extreme heat. Even at that, sheabutter restores the skin to normal.

Pls help describe how to do steam inhalation for a 5weeks old pls

This should help you.

AlphaHandMaiden:

Get a saline nasal spray. It comes either as drops or a spray. I feel the spray is easier to use though but some prefer the drops.
If you see the catarrh is dry and thick, use the spray, it helps soften it up and it will be easier to either suck out or just help moisturize inside the nostrils.

You can get olbas oil, ( it is more efficient than plain eucalyptus oil(silverbird)
There is olbas for babies and the normal olbas. The one for babies is much milder. But a few drops on her bib or on her clothes - do not put directly on her skin.

Menthylatum, (, i dont know how strong the one you have is but if it is not a baby grade one, i will suggest you dilute with shea butter and rub on her chest, back and on the soles of her feet.

You can also add a TINY bit with some shea butter and rub ON her nose across the nostrils and from forehead down to the tip of her nose. Please do not put anything apart from the nasal spray in to her nostrils.

You can do a bit of steam inhalation with hot water and a few drops of eucalyptus oil.
Get help from your hubby or someone else to hold a wrapper or bed sheet over you, the baby and the bucket or bowl of hot water whilst doing the steam inhalation.

Or if you have running hot water, sit with your baby in the bathroom( may be on the toilet seat) and run the shower on the hottest setting so the bathroom steams up. The steam she inhales will help ease some of the congestion.

Try and keep her head elevated when she is sleeping it helps the congested feeling. For day time naps, you can let her stay in a bouncer or rocker. For night time, try elevating the 2 front legs of the crib.

Sorry there is no surefire cure, but these will help provide some relief.

Other things you can do is get hand sanitiser and use frequently and for other people that want to carry her either they go wash their hands or they use hand sanitiser. Also Limit access to other older but small children, as they can transmit all sorts of bugs from nursery, school and God knows where else.

I am a FTM with a 12days old baby. I came across this thread while searching for a solution to my problem. I have a sore on my nipple on both breast. My LO was biting with her gum while sucking and it gave me a sore which is very painful. Everyone kept saying I should allow her keep sucking that it will heal but instead it becomes extremely painful. Had to stop breastfeeding her for a while so I can heal. I express by hand and feed with the bottle. Abeg sabi mamas how can I get the sore to heal fast. I miss breastfeeding my DD. Please make una help me for this matter.

Get Lansinoh nipple cream. Check reputable pharmacies or stores that stock baby items.

Awww...chicken pox ke? and she's not up to the age of receiving the varicella vaccine.

I believe she's getting treatment already.

chicken pox is a viral infection and she could have caught it when you went out of the house;public places

Speedy recovery to darling Oyin and please cheer up.

Hello mamas

my daughter is 9 weeks now. and it has not been easy for me with constant sleepless night due to her sleeping routine. But I give God the glory for allowing me to experience the joys of motherhood.

Around last week, i noticed a slight pain in my left hand when i got up from bed. And I still feel it till now. Sometimes, I find it difficult to lift up my baby from the bed due to the pain. I don't know the cause oo. Is it in anyway related to childbirth?

Pele..The pain will go gradually. It is related to childbirth.
It is either carpel tunel syndrome or tenosynovitis.
I experienced same and its over a year now but the intensity pain has only subsided.
From what the doctor told me as mine was diagnosed as tenosynovitis, do your best to lose the pregnancy fat and keep fit.

Good morning Sabi momma,
please what is "fenugreek"tea and where can I get it?

check pharmacies like medplus or healthplus, you will get from there.

A lot of mothers attest to fenugreek being able to boost breast.milk production hence its use.

You can make your own if you buy the seeds.

How To Make Fenugreek Tea

Making the tea is simple. You just need a few fenugreek seeds. Follow the procedure given below:

1. Crush the seeds in a pestle or mortar.
2. Boil water in a kettle. Pour it into a teapot or a container.
3. Add the crushed fenugreek seeds. You can also add other herbs and loose tea leaves.
4. Cover and steep the seeds for about 3 minutes.
5. Strain through a tea strainer into a cup or another container.
6. You can also sweeten with honey or stevia if you want.
7. Drink the tea hot or cold. #copied

She was 4kg at birth

Do your best to see a paediatrician please. They will help with asking you the right questions so as to identify the root cause of not gaining weight as she should.

In the meantime, try and increase the frequency of her feeds.

Good day Mamas, pls come to my aid. My daughter hadn't being adding weight. She's 5months plus but still 6.75kg. She takes breastmilk and SMA Gold. pls help me have being having sleepless nights over this issue.

what was her birth weight? Babies are expected to double their birth weight between 5-6months and triple it by 12months. If this is the case then you need not worry. If not, check with a paed to discuss your fears and you will advised appropriately.
