Events / Re: Why Don't We Celebrate Halloween In Nigeria? by jiddah: 8:41pm On Nov 01, 2009
Halloween (also spelled Hallowe'en) is an annual holiday celebrated on October 31. It has roots in the Celtic festival of Samhain and the Christian holy day of All Saints, but is today largely a secular celebration.

Halloween activities include trick-or-treating, wearing costumes and attending costume parties, carving jack-o'-lanterns, ghost tours, bonfires, visiting haunted attractions, pranks, telling scary stories, and watching horror films.

basically thats why its not celebrated in Nigeria,

there are couple of nasheeds by in Dawud Wharnsby Ali, though he plays the guitar but they are actually very soulful, there's evn one that he says was inspired by a lil Nigerian Girl he met once 'little bird', then he has the one with the Arabic alphabets 'A is for Allah' and Song of Madinah, i like his lyrics. smiley

Culture / Re: Nigerians Who Can't Pronounce Their names by jiddah: 12:58am On May 27, 2009
really! some nigerians in nigeria cant even pronounce nigerian names well, much less those who claim they were bred in the diaspora, look at our newscasters who dont take the pains to pronounce nigerian names correctly,as it's suppose to be pronounced, then we expect oyinbos to do it well, e.g am sure nigerian football fans can pronounce Jose Mourinho the way its suppose to be with the J as an H but they wont bother if the V in Ivdobore is silent, we are all guilty oh!

i think the film is just as annoying as any naija movie, very typical story line and it has too many flaws too.i thought it was s'pose to be a very good movie since ecobank and he rest had something to do with it but its just an average naija film. undecided
