The result is not bad at all. the only issue here is the reduction in dividend declared which was expected due to the current economic risk. They will have to make provision for FX devaluation (which will affect cost of imported spare-parts and loan servicing for new aircrafts) and also prepare for slowdown in the oil market, as nigeria has cut production level. So this is them been conservative. Mcy56: The result is not bad. FIDSON is currently trading at 3+ and they declared 15k, so also M&B @ 3+, 20k.
Though I knew they belong to different sector, yet Caverton is still cheap at that price by my own understanding. The stock is just surrounded by negative sentiments, that's what I see there. Also, there are times some stocks get bashed once dividend is declared but will start picking gradually again.
Wait o, are there no Caverton faithfuls here except OGG? Jideflash come and say something here. its caverton i sold off by mistake last week, i will be glad to reload heavily going forward. i was able to use the mistake sell-money, to enter fbnh at 4.70. so sometimes a mistake is a blessing in disguise. jideflash: Meritrade mobile website can cause big loss. The company’s spokesperson and Head of Sales and Corporate Communications, Mr Segun Bankole, said this was from a figure of N4.2bn claims paid in 2018. https://punchng.com/sovereign-trust-pays-n2-76bn-claims/ |

i wonder where their result is o. But from their few press releases, the cfo made mention of their claim expenses reducing by almost 50%. and their Qtr3 result showed a similar amount in gross premium with 2018 (est~ 10bn year 2019). But lets not forget they completed their right offer, hereby diluting EPS. im comfortable reloading at the current price of 20kobo, and sitting for the very very long run based on a personal strategy. their are better deals in the market for now, so only the leftover funds from other trades can i use for STI. yom2: how far for sovereign trust bro any hope? |

Caverton's revenue is contract based with fresh contracts signed with Chevron + Shell and other upstream oil and gas clients. We havent heard of any upstream oil and gas company shutting down their crude production. so caverton will continue to operate and earn. Again caverton contracts are based in dollars. Nahco operations is totally different from caverton. yok: From Qtr2 2020 Accounting year. It is doubtful if Caverton/ other logistics businesses (except Nahco, due to strong subsidiary companies in other sectors of the economy) can escape the effect of Covid 19.
As an extension of the above, I will like to us to make a list of our own "Nsempa Covid Test/ Isolation Camp). It will consist of stock we must not buy until their Isolation/treatment from our NSempa Covid Camp is over. We cannot just be watching as some equities continue to make people poorer/waste resources.
The test kit will be as follow: Any of the 1st 2 conditions should send the stock to Covid Isolation Center, the manifestation of other tests should send the stock to treatment centre where it should be until delisted. Anyone that buys stock from the Covid list is on his own. Contribution to the list (add the stock that should go for Covid Test or treatment) is welcome from All.
To kick the ball rolling: Test Kit 1- Not paying dividend for 2 years continuously: Turnover/Profitability declining for 2 years continuously: 3- Company is no more operating as a normal business should be operating (anyone can add more to our test Kit).
STOCKS FOR COVID INVESTMENT ISOLATION CENTRE - Oando -International Breweries -Academy Press -Notore
COVID TREATMENT CENTRE - CONFIRMED CASES- Will be discharged on delisting or when dividend payment resumes - Eko Corp - Capital Oil -Meyer -Morinson - Afromedia -Omatek - RT Briscoe -Tantalizer -John Holt -Studio Press -Trpple G -SCOA -Challerams -CWG
Please let us add our own and someone should keep updating like Intedy's list, probably every month. So that newbies will not contract "Investment Covid", the sickness has the effect of making people to hate anything call capital market.
Finally once we have our list, we will like SEC, NSE and our Billionaires etc. to then donate to those individuals that these companies have made poorer or will still make poorer, but I am sure once we have this list we will not fall victims of this Stock Market Covid Infection again |

for meristem, its from 10m ebuka1997: Hey guys how much do you have to have in your trading account to have a chat with your broker to reduce your charges... I use Afrinvest and I just realized how exorbitant their fees are... they charge 1.35% and I’m thinking of taking with them first and if they don’t budge I’ll move over to MorganCapital... I just want to see if they can reduce it for me say to 1% so I don’t have to deal with the stress of migrating and moving my shares then gradually I can think of moving to MorganCapital |

Well said CashDiMkpa: I think people should stop looking for tips and start doing some of the heavy lifting in reading up about these companies and their stocks themselves. If you are asking for specific information about a company, i guess that's okay but this trend of "Is company A a good stock to invest in?" just tire me. And people actually answer without understanding the person's investment goals, level of financial literacy and type of cash at the persons disposal. Tomorrow gbas gbos go full thread. |
