Maybe You should go to Abuja then |
lamie505: I said it earlier that it is always good to put more than the maintenance funds in your account at least maybe instead of 7200 pounds you can put 7300pounds .. My total funds am suppose to show UKBA is 10000 pounds but I had 13000 pounds in the account cos I don't want the exchange rate to affect it...Well said! This is the best way, you never can tell. |
jennyfar: Good morning guys, please which of the visa centres is better, Abuja or Lagos? I mean in terms of crowd and response time, or is it only Lagos that the application can be submitted? If you are based in Abj or close, do it there, its faster. Visas are processed only at the BHC Abuja. If you are in Lag, no point travelling to Abj, it is just like 2 extra days---posting to and fro. |
princessmoi: Justwise, on the last pasrt of the online application, a signature is required. If you click on next it says "This field is required" please help.Type in your full name, as it appears on your passport. There is a space you'll sign after printing the form. |
mayo47: @jidevince & co pls i dont know where u guys heard dis ur yellow card news, am in the uk presently & hv asked a few othersWell that was raised by mac@coretech, I have no idea if its required or not. |
wolske: Hi Justwise and other nairalanders. Please, can one withdraw some money from one's account after visa has been granted? I need to book my flight, but i'm confused as to whether i can withdraw from that account to book my flight even after obtaining one's visa. Somebody told me that the UKBA continues to monitor the account till you get to the uk. How true is this? Justwise, please your advice? You can definitely withdraw after your visa has been granted,I believe. At least you'd convert the fund to GBP before you can spend it over there. I doubt they'll have enough time on their hands to be checking individual accounts even after visa has been granted! That.is.not.true! To be on safe side, you can obtain the yellow card, think its just N500. I learnt new cards would be introduced as from Oct 1st, though. That means the old one will become invalid. |
jennyfar: Hi guys, I hope to receive my CAS by Friday this week, I'm printing my account statement today, made a little payment into the account to be used as closing balance. since the account is in my name, will I have to submit any of my sponsors docs? And apart from what will be listed in my CAS letter, is there any other thing I need to submit with my application? To the best of my knowledge, I do not think they care about the source of the fund, all they care about is the fact that it has been kept for the minimum 28 consecutive days, that way they'd be sure the fund would be available for your use. You should include all the documents you used in securing your admission. The most important are those listed on your CAS, however. |
735 i: Hi Justwise; If Naira equivalent for the balance of my tuition and living expenses is; N 3.6m (which is already in my account) and i withdraw N 500k after my after my Visa application. Will it in anyway affect my chances in getting a visa? i am at crossroads to either sell pounds which i bought for N 254 and buy later at a much more expensive rate or; withdraw the money from my account. Please, wait till after you receive your visa before you withdraw. |
Thought this info might help as regards online form validity "Your online form will be valid: until your appointment date, if you have booked an appointment through Visa4UK and you have a visa appointment reference (VAR) number; or for 90 days from the date when you submit it, in other circumstances. We cannot accept your form after this 90-day period, as the data will have been deleted. You will need to complete a new application if you bring an expired application form to a visa application centre." |
justwise: Ok..i get that. Is your sponsorship status stated in your CAS?Yes! It was on the old one with the statements "tuition fee to be paid £0" "student not liable to pay any fee personally" I assume it would be stated on the new one I requested for. I also have the original letter of confirmation of award. |
justwise: If you are been sponsored why then were you going through legal guardian? Its just my tuition that has been taken care of,no funds towards maintenance. Meaning I had to prove funds would be available for maintenance. |
justwise: No, before. |
justwise: You shouldn't have gone through legal guardian route, if you are under 18yrs of age...maybe just maybe it will work. That was my mistake, only if I had joined this forum earlier. My tuition has been paid in full(£16000) I secured a full-tuition scholarship from Allan and Nesta Ferguson Charitable Trust(ANFCT) |
justwise: When is your course starting?4th October but 14th is the final arrival day.*between 19thSept. And 14th Oct there are 17 working days, excluding Oct. 1st. |
Don Oms: All the best bro! Thanks! |
Don Oms: Now you're talking! You never mentioned "appointment." You kept on saying "submit application" and they're two different things. Now, to answer you, the best you can do is to follow the advice I gave on page 159 (at 4:57pm of Aug18) of this same thread (here's the link: www.nairaland.com/826936/uk-student-visa-tier-4/159).Oh sorry! I just assumed that we both know that I must have booked an appointment before I can appear at the UKVAC. ![]() Well,I've just gone through the advice, quite a good one. As regards appointments, I booked my appointment a day before, the last time I went there. Only that I got a time for 2pm. Even the online application, I submitted online on 6thJuly but went to the UKVAC on 24thJuly so don't think there's any problem there. I just signed it 24thJuly. All I wanted to know was if I could print my statement of account on the same 19th Sept,my proposed appointment date, and then proceed to the UKVAC for submission+interview. |
justwise: will add to what people have told you already before the end of today...pretty busy now....Thanks justwise, *anticipating* |
Don Oms: I get you now. You kept on noting you want to submit on the 19th in your previous posts, that was why I said that.Okay! Sorry for the misunderstanding. What I meant was that I intend to fix my appointment to appear at the UKVAC for 19th September. |
Don Oms: I don't think you know exactly all you need to know. You have to submit your application online, print it out, book an appointment, (you'll see the link after you submit application) then go to the VAC on your appointment day with all the necessary documents.Seems you are getting it twisted, though. I was referring to your "you can submit your application online on the 19th Sept." Statement . I mean, does it matter when you submit the form online? All the same, thank you. |
Don Oms: Of course you can submit your online application on the 19th of September and print your Bank Statements on the same day. Have you scheduled an interview yet? If not, then submit your application on the 19th and print your statement on the same day...you're safe. Thanks bro. No I haven't! I honestly don't think it matters when you submit your application online though. What matters is when you appear at the VAC, pay your visa fee and submit your forms(online print-out, app8) together with the supporting documents. That day is your application date. Am I wrong, house? @Justwise please chip in some words. |
Don Oms: My brother, get this straight. Your print out can ONLY be a day starting from 19th Sept. Do NOT print on the 18th Sept. GTBank will include the same day you print out as the closing date on the statement (as long as you put that date in the request form). The option I gave you earlier is to cater for a situation where your interview may be on 20th Sept. If your interview is not on the 20th, make your transaction on the 19th and print on the 20th Sept.Thank you, the thing is I intend to submit my application on the 19th Sept. |
lamie505: Yeah boss.make the transaction 18th sept and tell them you need it to refect in your statement of acc.. And make sure you get a reference letter from the bank..Thanks so much boss. |
lamie505: Make the transaction the day your 28 days is complete and print it out the next day.. To be on a safe sideAnd the day should be 18th Sept, right? From 22nd August. |
Don Oms: The 28th day is the 19th of Sept. but if you're running behind schedule and need the statement that same day (19th), make your transaction on the 18th so it will reflect on the statement and print your statement on the 19th. Don't worry, GTBank will include 19th Sept in the statement and it'll be the day of your closing balance.Thank you so much! ![]() |
honey86: No it won't reflect. I also used gtb, I made a final transaction on the 28th day then went back the next day to print my bank statement. Thanks honey86! Consider this scenario, please. I had N1.2m in the account but made it 2m on 22nd of Aug (enough for my maintenance fund). I start counting from the 22nd right? When is the 28th day that I would make the final transaction, please? |
lamie505: What I did was that I deposited some cash and told them the purpose of the account so they included the last transaction and I got the statement the next day.. So make sure they know you want to use it to apply.. They know how to go about it.. Which includes giving you a reference letter.. This will be a back up for the statement..Thanks so much lamie505. I deposited the last part of the fund on 22nd of August, does it mean I will make a transaction on the 18th of Sept. and then print out on 19th Sept? Please help me confirm if it'd be alright that way. Confirm the day counts, please. Was your application successful or you are still expecting result? Thanks. |
lamie505: The best way to do this is to make a transaction the day you wanna collect your statement cos UKBA will count your 28days up from the last transaction.. You can pay a little amount that day and collect the statement...Thanks for your help, that's exactly what I was planning to do but he was trying to point out that some banks would not include that day's transaction on the statement. Please, do you know for sure if GTBank would include that day's transaction? I.e if I withdraw/Deposit a certain amount on 19th Sept and print the statement immediately would the transaction reflect? Thanks |
abbakacici: from what I learn from this forum is that not all banks includ the date you are printing out the bank statement on the bank statement so if your bank does not you have to print out on the 20thThanks, but does anyone have an idea if GTbank does include the transaction of the day one prints the statement? |
Hi everyone! I'm new here and I so much rue the fact that I joined late. I was refused a student visa on 10th August,2013 because, according to the ECO, I failed to produce a documentary evidence that demonstrates my guardian as a legally appointed guardian even-though I included an affidavit of guardianship. I deposited the required maintenance fee in my personal GTB account on the 22nd of August,2013, I intend to print my account statement on 19th, September,2013(after a transaction) and proceed to the UKVAC on same day. Please, would that be okay? Thanks all! |
