Hi guys, got my COPR on Tuesday.

By the time I got my PPR, my passport's validity was less than 6 months. I had to quickly renew it then go submit it. I didn't bother raising any CSE, I just went to VFS with the new and old passport, I also didn't write any LOE at the point of submitting the passport.

I also didn't get any notification that my passport was ready for pick up, I had to call them to confirm if it was ready, they had returned the passport back to Lagos 2 days earlier. If your CIC profile has been updated and you don't get a pick up notification, you should call VFS to confirm.

I think that's basically all.
Hi, what validity did your COPR have, please? Similar situation and trying to figure out if the validity will be tied to the expiry date of the original passport or 1 year after medicals.

Congratulations. Pls for those of us that have gotten their PPR. did you send only the biography page of your international passport or all the pages after you were ITA.
You mean scan all the pages? Unless there's travel info on all the pages, why would you do that? The instructions are clear. Scan the bio page and any other pages with visas and stamps. You have no business scanning empty pages.

40% gift deed from my cousin. 60% savings. They asked for a new bank statement.
Thanks. I meant in terms of documents, though. Like did you use statement of account or just bank reference letter initially? Also was all the money (gift deed + savings) in one account initially?
otunbanimi:

Vickyehi! What if one has spent out of the gift deed. At ADR request for POF, can one make up for the money spent by transferring to the account. Or one must not touch the funds at all after AOR?
Dyolahh:
Or also if the pof has been moved to a totally different account for saving??

At the end of the day it's your money and it's up to you where you choose to keep it. As long as you can explain anything that might look strange, there shouldn't be anything to worry about.

I can't type everything here. I am not even an ardent follower or member of the thread but that didn't stop you from going out of your way for me. Thank You everyone. God will do it for all of us. I can't contain my joy.

We cant be too sure. Here is another friend's report, this time with U.S embassy. I'd just say we should do our best to keep the POF, it's better to be careful than sorry. Moreso, we should remember one can get ADR for POF at anytime.
How does this person know this is why his application was denied? Na wa.

This is not correct as embassies has understanding with banks to confidentially confirm statements of clients of the bank requesting for Visa. This is why embassy's statements processing is different from the ordinary statements at least with its unique stamp. Infact, this statement finds their ways to the corporate headquarters of the bank for verification and this is done at various intervals. There is a designated desk that swiftly handles these enquiries from embassies in banks headquarters. So there's no illegality in this after all na you beg to apply.
Never heard of this. In fact whenever I've applied for visas I've always used regular statements and I've gotten the visas all the time. As a matter of fact I move money around anyhow after applying and it has never been an issue. And yes even if you apply it doesn't mean you agree for your bank to give information to people on your behalf. What a bank can confirm is that they genuinely gave you the letter you submitted. They can confirm the existence of the account or that they truly gave a letter and it wasn't forged or that the information on the letter they provided was accurate. But for them to be providing details of your account activity to anybody is unheard of. Doesn't make a difference to me personally but if it's true then I'll be very surprised. Maybe somebody working in a bank can offer inside information.

I remember we had a discussion on this months back, someone just shared her story.
Is she sure they checked with the bank or they just used a different exchange rate? Your bank details are proprietary information. As a matter of fact I think it would be illegal for your bank to tell anyone (except maybe the police) your bank balance or anything relating to it.

I intend doing registry marriage around November this year, before the traditional and white to come early nxt year. Do u think I shld start now or after the registry (Ikoyi registry). The right Timing is my headache.....

You should maximize the time between now and when you get married. What you need to do now is to get your credential evaluated, register and study for IELTS because all this stuff wastes time and if you start after your wedding then that will take you another 3 months. By October/November, you should hopefully have your ECA done, and your IELTS result ready. Then, when you're married, you can register and you will most likely get ITA immediately.

I submitted reference letter, payslips, acceptance letter boss complimentary card and NYSC certificate for my first employment I couldn't submit bank statements for it has I had already closed that account but surprisingly now the bank is willing to help me retrieve it provided I reopen the account, for my current job I submitted reference letter, leave approval letter, payslips, letter of appointment. I work in a small vet clinic and I received salary by hand which is stated on my payslips.
And your references were all on letterheads stating when you started work, your duties, salaries etc? Did they send you any ADR before the interview request? Also did you order GCMS notes? You submitted more than even some people who didn't get any ADR or interview recommendation so this is strange. Is there anything else of note in the interview request?

I received an interview request few days ago, AOR is Jan 29, 2018, current job pays salary by cash,. Kindly comment and advise on what to do.
What proof of employment did you submit initially? Did you submit the employment references on letterheads from your employers and in CIC format?

Just gather all the documents you have to support your employment. If you didn't get references from your employers before, try and get them. Also get payslips if you don't have statements showing salary payments into your account. And if you don't have that then get a letter from your employer saying they don't issue payslips.

Hi guys,

I have an MSc from Unilag. Though I haven't collected the certificate, I have the Letter of Attestation.

Can I use that for WES ECA?

And which is more advisable for accessing Unilag degree - WES or IQAS?
WES accepts attestation in place of certificate. Many people here have confirmed this. I can confirm too.

Congrats man... I think it was last week or two weeks a regret mail came in, stating that my multiple applications with different emails and address had been noticed, hence auto disqualification... Mehnnn, I was like who could scale thru all those strong test, esp the numerical part at a go... Had to retry until I went thru and now the regret mail... So you went thru on just one trial?
Did you go back to withdraw all the applications after the final one went through?

Love this meh!!

Most of your assertions are wrong, most especially concerning the ones that pertains to hitv's unfortunate shutdown. Y'all still keep saying the same old story despite fresh revelations currently made by the sponsors of the defunct company. For crying out loud, the two companies Hitv and Dstv both entered the bid for exclusive rights to air live epl matches and at the point Hitv won it and had to source for fund to pay the fee required they hit a dead brick. There was obviously a well planned conspiracy against the company as all the banks didn't decline giving out facility but rather kept on promising, claiming they were busy with the recapitalization shiiii. Multichoice didn't get it because of their deep pocket but rather because of standard chartered bank (a fellow south African company) perfected a loan facility for them and they paid while hitv could not get any Nigerian bank to sort him out.

Surprisingly two days after Dstv got the right, hitv was called by the bank to come get the loan as everything has been perfected. We all know that's medicine after death. It was just a well planned conspiracy. Tho it's a business world where you either eat someone or get eaten. But y'all should stop making it look like Dstv has some badass strategist doing some miracle up there. It's just simple, they understand the level of corruption in Nigeria and they use it to their own maximum satisfaction.

As for outclassing Dstv, i don't know what you mean by that. Obviously on a majority level the selling point of Dstv is the epl matches they have exclusive rights to show. We all know supersports are exclusive to Dstv so you don't expect them to have supersport on TSTV too. However, bein sports will take care of that if what am seeing on their site is sacrosanct. And they also have other stations that will substitute most of the glorified Dstv stations.

If TSTV have actually taken their time to study the market well, then I don't see them going down the way of hitv. It will just be like the case of the telecommunications industry. Nobody will die for each other, it will be live and let live.
Standard Chartered is not a South African company so you can dead your conspiracy theory there. And how could HiTV have won the rights if they didn't have money to pay to begin with? What did they use to win that DSTV didn't have? Also, why would Nigerian banks conspire with DSTV to block HiTV funding? To what gain? Excuses upon excuses.

Kasich:

Good morning Nevee
SJTs are meant to test your resolve when faced with a problem that has several solutions, they test your sense of judgement, how easy it is for you to understand a problem and find a way out quickly, and lastly how well h perform under pressure.

Every firm has her core values which they firmly believe in, and they feel if you want to join them, you should share their sentiments as well.

At Standard Chartered they believe you should be able to work efficiently with little or no supervision, their work environment is highly paced n as such people may not have time to babysit you through every storm you face. They need you to be up n doing once given the necessary training at the start of your programme, though once in a while your managers may rescue you out, but you must be willing to work independently And deliver results.

So here comes your answer, you failed the SJTs because your capabilities were tied to team work all the way, you were always too willing to render assistance to a co-worker even when you have serious work to do dat you haven't done, you were too cautious and not willing to take some risk... And maybe your test results showed them you are too emotional.

So next time you take their SJTs try as much as possible not to look too soft and dependent, make them understand you are willing to make the necessary sacrifices to deliver results (we know not everything is realistic, but just compromise)

And lastly I applied because I wanted to pass their aptitude test because I heard people say its really difficult, and yes it was the most intelligent test I've taken till date, both the logical n numeric were tough but I scaled through with 90% score for both... The secret is right in your front but we often neglect it, those practice questions is all you need to pass, practice till you no longer fail anyone within the given time, it's not a test you take in a haste... The video interview is another story on its own... But am not really expecting something from them, I studied engineering though and am still doing my nysc, they may only require guys with solid finance background which I obviously lack, but that doesn't mean am pessimistic o.

I hope next time you get it right

While you are largely right, I suspect it's a bit more complex. There are many questions in the test that have no clear right or wrong answer, even in terms of team work vs independence. The test is designed to reveal a combination of strengths on your end, and different streams require different strengths. So "failing" or "passing" the assessment is also a function of the stream you apply to. For example, the strengths you have might be perfect for, say, Wealth Management, but because you applied to Financial Markets which requires completely different strengths, you won't go through.

Are u sure about the bolded? If yes, then fambum87 is very right because this would mean getting a low percentile like 40 doesnt mean you won't be chosen as you may still make the top list among the standard chartered applicants. I thought the scores was actually being conpared with those of us that have taken the standard chartered test and not the against a sample population by talentq.

Well, think about it properly. Whether the score is being compared against current test takers or an already fixed sample population... What difference does it make?

Scenario1: You have a score in the 40th percentile when compared to this sample population, someone else has a score in the 90th percentile when compared to that population.

Scenario 2: You have a score in the 40th percentile when compared with the current test takers, someone else has a score in the 90th percentile when compared to current test takers.

Who is going to be chosen first in either scenario? Exactly. Of course, no matter what it *really* is, everyone still stands a chance, as no one besides the hiring team knows what the real cut-offs/requirements are.

My opinion though, those with the 35, 40 and 45 percentile are the high fliers. they are at the top list compared to 90 percentile who probaly wrote the test before the 35, 40 and 45. Their next stage might just be video interview..............my view

Lol... your view is inaccurate. The scores are being compared to others, yes. Hence the percentiles. However, the scores being compared are not just from people taking the test now. The assessment site (TalentQ) already has a sample "population" of scores to compare with. Also, it's not just about getting "high" scores. As someone stated above, it's likely that there are different requirements for different streams, so someone might get a high score that is inadequate for one stream, but sufficient for another.
