NB1912: I have had a quick look at your previous post and I can see that you studied Law as your B.Sc. You have applied for a Masters in Social work which is a different field from Law. The work experience letter you submitted, is it related to social work? I am guessing your response will be NO.
Did you provide any substantial evidence as to why you are switching from Law to Social Work? It is always hard to meet GTE requirement for visa purpose when switching to a different course and you don't have related work experience in the field. People have previously gotten away with switching to Social Work when their previous study or work experience is unrelated. It has become tougher now.
It has been mentioned multiple times on this thread that you should always study a course similar to your previous degree, and then switch to your preferred course when you get to Australia. In addition, Social Work is a high risk program and is highly scrutinized by visa officers.
Prepare yourself and re-apply by addressing the GTE requirement. Wish you all the best. “Social Work is a high risk program” Please can you elaborate what you mean by that statement of yours in quote?? Thanks in anticipation!!! |

Samlakin: Let me share my cost effective trip to Adelaide.
At the time I wanted to book my flight from Nigeria, it will cost me approximately 1.4m. So I decided to transit through SA.
Nigeria to SA = 205k (Air Cote d'Ivoire) SA to Adelaide = 550k (Qatar Airways)
You don't need a transit visa in SA, it is written on VSF and SA home affairs website. I also confirmed from SA embassy in Abuja before the journey began.
Just hold 5,000 extra for Nigeria Immigration Officer if them wan talk rubbish. I move smartly, didn't go for my bags in SA, I inform Qatar that my bags is with Air Cote d'Ivoire and they pick it up to my next flight.
You can use a dollar account to pay for your flight from SA to AUS. Naira card is not accepted. My friend in SA did that for me.
My waiting time in SA to catch the next flight is just 6hours. If you can take the risk, it worth it.
I end up saving 600k +
Thanks Please I sent you an email, try to respond so you give me more details on this route as I plan to fly to Melbourne this month. Thanks an anticipation! |

NB1912: Evidence of financial, family or social ties should do since she's very young. If she has done any training or certificate after high school similar to her proposed course then you can include that as well. You can also show that she has been actively involved in some community project that is similar to her proposed course of study. Thanks for your response, but my question is limited to “ties to home country” |

Good day to every one here, Please I would need a candid and critical response to my post. Thanks in anticipation!!! I got an admission via an agent on the 7th of Dec. 22 to study computer Science at the university of Regina, Saskatchewan. From my intl. passport I’ll be 29 this year, i studied mechanic Engineering at Hnd level and graduated 2021 and I am married with an 11 month plus old daughter. 1.Do I stand a chance to get a visa even though I am able to present a good Proof of fund with my situation? 2. Will my age be a contention from the visa officers? 3.I don’t know if the agent used my Hnd transcripts to apply, if she did will that stand on my way from studying the new intended course at an undergraduate level? P.S I did not choose the new intended course, rather the agent opted for that as a way to secure admission according to her. 4. If by any chance I get a visa, “the yearly tuition fee is $20,500” will I be able to work and pay the tuition fee for the remaining three years assuming I have the fee for the first year? |
