Nairaland General › Re: Help! I'm Too Nice And People Are Taking Advantage Of My Niceness. by Jimmy231: 11:05pm On Jun 28, 2022 |
Dajupa, Marerin, Kala Travicon: Hello Nairalanders, I will try as much as possible to make the write-up short.
I am a 21years old guy at a Russian university with two Nigerian roommates (In the hostel though). We averagely get the same amount of money as an allowance monthly, but mine always finishes first.
I don't spend unnecessarily on myself, and we cook together. I discovered after two months of staying together that they care less about buying things that we generally use in the room. For instance, I always buy food season, detergents, and cooking oil (quite expensive).
I cook most of the time. Anytime I decide not to cook, we always go hungry and I can't cope with that. This has made my cash always run out faster and I can't stop them from eating my food or using the things I buy.
There was a time also I lend the last money with me (100k in naira) to my best friend then in Nigeria because he claimed his dad was sick and promised to repay by month-end. I didn't have anything to take me through the remaining days of the month but I gave it out because he was a close friend. Month-end, I couldn't get money from my sponsor because of some issues. I contacted my guy but he stopped replying to me on WhatsApp. I managed to get 20k but the rest is probably history now.
Whenever people talk about their problems, I always feel for them to the extent of giving out my money even if it's the last cash on me. I have never had a girlfriend, but I don't always have the strength to reject if a girl asks for airtime or money from me (including my mum and sisters though)
I always try to go to any length to see people happy even if it means borrowing money from another person for them. I'm that foolish. Generally, I'm too soft-hearted and nice but I don't know how to solve this problem. Someone advised me I should get a girlfriend who should always be angry with me if I'm being too nice to people and that will help me solve the problem to some extent but I think it won't.
I'm not from a rich family, not even from an average family. I'm even from a polygamous home so I know what it means to have suffered as a Nigerian. I was on the street and I guess that's what is making me this weak emotionally. I'm a simp all-around in my life and relationship with people. People are always cheating on me, taking advantage of who I am.
I NEED genuine HELP, please. |

Career › Re: Is ICAN As It Is Now Overrated by Jimmy231: 7:40pm On Jun 25, 2022 |
The fire go touch every where he don touch ICAN they have been compromised Covenant97: Good day fellas!!
Early this morning I log into my LinkedIn account and on my newsfeed I saw series of congratulatory messages and inspiring quotes from peeps on the ICAN results that just got released...
Although, I was happy for them, at least it’s time to enjoy the reward of their handwork and investment paid off...but while on this, my mind was troubled not for bad reasons though, but in that the number of graduating chartered accountant are way high in there numbers and some student still in school are veering to get chartered as well...with this in mind I began to question myself if ICAN as it is today is still worth it or just overrated given the basic law of demand and supply...more chartered accountant plunging into the system with few but highly competitive job around..what does the future hold for this peeps......
Conversely, began to notice that most people who became chartered and those who are one day looking forward to be one are doing for The grams, to feel among, to impress friends and family that they are smart as most saw that only a genius can pass the exam according to them....
The craze to feel counted and ego boosted( not all though) has made the profession too saturated leading most accountant unemployed or underpaid( the ones who saw it as their career life goals)....
With this in mind is the ICAN journey a worthy to embark on( for who who are yet to, myself inclusive) or is it just overrated...
Ps on the level of difficulty attach to the exam how true is it.. for those who has written... I have seen and come across peeps who brag about its difficulty in a bid to make themselves special and downplay the efforts of others who had failed in the exam... this is particularly common among the current crop of ACA...
It there a secret or special kind of strategy and approach one need to know or failed to know that makes the ICAN look as if it’s only surmountable by the genius alone....
I come in peace...... |

Family › Re: Why Are some Men Neglected In Marriage By Their Wives After Having Kids? by Jimmy231: 10:17pm On Jun 13, 2022 |
Marriage Na scam DenreleDave: I still don't get.. Are men built to work and not enjoy?
My first instance: A very popular nairalander loves to show her kids all time which is not bad but she doesn't even mention her husband..... What baffles me most is this statement; "my money is for me and my kids"...
Does it Mean a wife cannot even treat her husband well too?
I guess this is the main reason some men ignore their wife and kids to enjoy their lives... They know that most kids grow to love their mother..
I don't blame such men.... But I don't hope to have such a wife that have the mentality of my kids and I ALONE?
2ndly, I feel most women are not happy in their marriage which is why all they live for is their kids.. The only reason why most ladies are still under the same roof is because of the kids and their lack of financial resources to stand alone... Most are just having sex, doing mommy and daddy bcoz of the kids but the true essence of marriage between has long dissappeared...
If not, in my own perception, a happily married woman should be proud of her husband. She should happily treat her husband well. She should say wonderful things about her husband.
Marriage dey fear me walahi.... |

Bros small sense like this no they your head Onetenth: I think it's high time every citizen in Nigeria wants to troop out and vote their preferred candidate for 2023 elections. We need to vote what our hearts wants and getting the PVC is the first important step.
Everyone has started doing their part because they still love their fatherland, we all can't JAPA because we can't afford the bills or probably we can't leave some of our loved ones behind. So what's the way forward to make our dear nation Great again? Voting the right candidate is the answer.
The youths eyes are now cleared, they all want to vote for their choice. And as a Nigeria youth who is also a young father, who wants the best for himself and his born and unborn children, I will be donating my dad's church as a PVC center if it is needed from INEC.
Any information or suggestions regarding this idea will be highly welcome.
Let's all join hands together and fight to regain our dear nation from bad, corrupt and tribalistic leaders.
This should be in front page for wider audience |

Let them know immortalcrown: Medicine after death. You are talking now because the regime has almost ended. Even during 2019 election, you did not sound this way. Were you sleeping or was the regime good then? You are talking now because you know your statement will not work against them. You should have said it when it mattered, when they would have come after you, when your followers would have gained correction from the statement. Keep deceiving yourself.
Added People are quoting me saying he has been condemning Bubu since 2015. Please, how did he fight Buhari? On which date did it happen. The only time I know he spoke was when a pastor became a victim of the kidnapping in the North. Another time was when the government made a move to tax Churches. When did he fight Buhari concerning bad leadership in general? Please, inform me, give me links to his fight against Buhari. Do not tell me to go to Google oh. You might be saying the truth. So, give me evidence, apart from his reactions to kidnapping and taxing of Churches. Give me an evidence so I will be convinced my first paragraph is wrong. Post at least links to the evidence here. Do not tell me to use Google oh. And, the evidence should not be his reactions to kidnapping of a pastor and taxing of Churches. I already know those ones. If I get the evidence, I will add an apology as a third paragraph. But if no evidence is provided, those who insult me should keep ranting. |
