mtisTheQubit: I must reply to ths.. So Nigeria is like 200m an USA is like 350 m..very close. The other day US was hitting 5000 covid deaths per day ..you would think Nigeria with such close population will record such. There is a saying in Africa society that you can hide hunger but cannot hide bones something like that..If africans were dying of covid like you suggest then we would know..we know all ths..i got data from our hospitals an can tell you its not happening.. The other day we were debating about a post by a French scientist suggesting that the reason Africans are not dying at much rate its coz of worms they got in their bodies..kinda a protection shield We i know many folks out there wish Africa death an stuff but not happening. We had ebola,HIV ,covid but our population still strong.an It scaring some folks an mostly white supremist...Dont know why they scared of black or brown skin.. Its funny ya suggesting that if Kenya tested more then folks would die in masses..Thats not science bro..Its wishful thnking...
we know Africa population is youthful an strong unlike some other countries..also most africans are immune to to stuff coz of how thy grew up...now thats science...
I've said it multiple times and I'll say it again.... Covid only has a 1% fatality rate, around 50% of people don't even know they have/had covid.... The natural deaths in SA is barely any different than pre covid.... Conclusion: if you don't conduct tests you'll not know if the death was covid related or not.
Tobiloba24072: One question though, why is our own opv version of the type 056, without missile and anti submarine warfare weapons and sensors, have more weight , even though it's less capable
What's the extra 300 tonnes for? That's about half the weight our missile armed fast attack crafts.
Secondly where are we getting our new opvs from? China has stopped manufacture of the type 056.
who said its less capable than the type 056? The P18N is a different class of ship, its like comparing apples to oranges.
Also the P18N is configured with a whole host of extras that the type 056 doesn't have, like oil spilage rigs, a helicopter hanger ect ect
RiceProducers: To you missiles make a corvette. I think it is blue water endurance. The battle management system you are talking about is software that can be installed and modified. The SS, ASW and AAs are modules that can be installed in a matter of weeks.
OPVs can and do have longer endurance than corvettes, it's armament that dictates weather a ship is an OPV or corvette.
And the P18N is purely an OPV..... If it was "fitted for but not with" the offensive capabilities of a Corvette then I would've called it a Corvette however the P18N is a purpose built OPV, it can't be integrated with SS, ASW and AA without major refit
However, P18N can easily be converted to a missile, it doesn't we've seen how possible it is with the OPVs Senegal ordered from France. OPV 52 is another good example.
RiceProducers: They are Corvettes. Nigeria called them OPVs and downgraded the armament package for a reason.
they are OPVs... No anti sub, no anti air, no anti surface.... Purely a patrol vessel, and it's not like you could convert the P18N into a corvette either since the battle management system and ship architecture simply won't allow it unless a major refit is done which would cost so much one could just as well purchase a type 056 instead of going through the trouble.
Abohboy: Nope. If COVID was a problem we'd see death toll rising higher then normal that is the indicator that there is a pandemic or epidemic in the nation that hasn't taken place yet so Nigeria has no COVID problem
read my previous post... Covid only has a 1% fatality rate, hence natural deaths in SA has barely budged compared to pre covid times
Abohboy: Number of tests isn't a measure and South Africa has capacity to manufacture vaccines apart from that their COVID policies have been horrible compared to the rest of Africa
yes it is... How else would I have known Nigeria has conducted only 2.9 million test vs 17.3 million for SA...
Also by your own assumption that SAs covid policies have been horrible then the covid policies of nearly the entire developed world has been horrible as well?
Abohboy: If deaths were higher then normal it would be recorded mortuaries would be overrun and so would hospitals the only clear occurence of a possible major COVID outbreak was in Kano and Kaduna state where 267 people died from an unknown illness apart from there, there's been no news of many people in any community dying or mortuaries being overrun which are clear signs of a disease
read my previous post.... Even with covid SAs natural deaths pa has barely budged
Nigeria got a slap on the wrist. Knowing how deadly covid is, if it was rampant we would know, even without testing.
actually you won't since deaths are covid related and not covid itself, so without testing there is no way to tell if a person died from covid or not.
Even if SA conducted 0 tests the number of Deaths caused by natural causes has barely budged compared to pre covid levels, hence again even if it is rampant(like in SA) you would not know without testing
Transcriber: I live in Nigeria I know what I'm talking about here in the height of the pandemic anybody that went to the hospital was recorded as a covid case very many aged deaths were recorded as covid deaths
trust me if covid was as crazy in Nigeria as it was/is in Europe 100 million Nigerians would be dead where are the hospitals? where is the precaution?
Nope........Covid is just as bad in Nigeria as anywhere else, except you have only conducted a couple million tests hence covid deaths will be in relation to tests conducted
theInterpreter: covid in Nigeria is totally false I can assure you of that
if it was real 100 million people would be dead
no use testing when there's almost no risk
it's like testing for ebola in France
I dont have time for your conspiracy theories covid only has a 1% fatality rate and deaths are actually due to things like pneumonia and ARDS triggered by covid........thus if you haven't been tested and you die, then there is no way of telling if it was actually covid related or not
Transcriber: testing where there's no risk is stupid
can't you think?
why don't you go testing for ebola in France?
Who says there isn't a risk?? if you look at the amount of tests to deaths ratio Nigeria would be right up there with SA if it managed to conduct the same amount of tests.....same with the rest of Africa
Abohboy: It's only in South Africa where a new variant was discovered don't lie about it South Africa's COVID policy and enforcement wasn't top notch especially in the towsnhips even with the whole curfew system
I never said SAs covid policy was top notch but it's by far better than the rest of Africa............Just look at the number of tests conducted as well as number vaccinated and compare that to the rest of Africa
rvp2018: UK allows Kenya and Egypt to travel to UK and remove it from red list. Kenya is now UK most important partner in Sub Saharan Africa. Nigeria is huge mess. South Africa continue it's onward match backward.
rvp2018: How far...Nairobi is growing very fast. Westland 20yrs ago - was not nothing. And now It's not very fastest growing - Kilimani is on steroids.
Hueman: Take responsibility for whatAnglos love projecting. Didn’t you guys spend the whole pandemic blaming China for it instead of doing the work of getting rid of it. No wonder South Africa has the highest cases in Africa because you people are in it.
1. I'm not Anglo
2. South Africa has the highest cases because we are the only country in Africa that is actually testing our population for covid.....
mtisTheQubit: Kenyans have been named as the second most innovative people in Africa.According to a report by the World Intellectual Property Organization, Kenya came second after South Africa on the continent. The ranking was done based on an index dubbed the Global Innovation Index (GII) 2021 which looks at the investments in innovation.
In the global ranking, countries that ranked highest are those invested in scientific output, research and development and intellectual property. In Africa, the top three were South Africa. Kenya and Tanzania .
so Morocco, Tunisia and Mauritius ain't African according to Kenyans?
DE Subs are perfect for countries with a military posture as China. No expected to fight far from home port.
DE Sub's are more quiet than Nuclear powered subs.
What Nuclear power provides you is more energy output to run your systems & range.
Cruisers are ships of a by-gone age. Even small 62m Corvettes like the Buyan can hit targets over 3000km away.
Most countries, big countries depend on Frigates & Destroyers while Corvettes make the largest numbers of their fighting fleet. Look at China & Russia.
Even the US is now building Frigates case in point is FFGx which Fincantieri recently won.
