Iow, the breakdown per soldier/sailor/flyguy which translates into better equipment, training, pension, benefits, welfare etc, etc. I'd rather not name anyone but this endless f'ery will stink up this place it's like ToT! the fact is they don't even spend more... There budget is $2.8 billion |

Omofaye99: Those world war era tanks are rubbish compare to our VT4 tanks kiss the truth
You can't have it even if you want because you are broke.
Unarmed seekers actually
Still doesn't change the fact that we have more Artillery than you.
Yes you don't have the money or the balls to venture out of you coast
You the parachute operating jack
You don't have it now do you
We will get it when the need arrives and at the right time, so it won't end up like the grounded southie sub's
We are getting frigate soon, when our OPV arrives at least yours are grounded
We got decent defence system that is why no country in Africa can dare us
We don't need it and if we do will get it because we have the money, the Nigeria NAS is enough for us.
We have got the Nigerian Army Signals.
We have got ATGMs either motorized or not.
We have modern Tin shield radar system.
The Nigeria military and NASDRA have it own joint tracking system so we don't need blu
Please go on -Vt4s are better than Olifant mk2 simply because it as a proper 125mm gun.... However Tanks have never played a major role in our high mobility emphasised doctrine.... - we don't have it because we have other platforms tha preform the same role but better as in the Rooivalk. - who says our seeker 400 aren't armed? - Quality above quantity has always been our doctrine...it doesn't matter how many you have when a G6 is firing at it from 60km away. -Yet we Patrol more waters than the NN..... - I don't get what you are saying - SAS protea is operational as we speak... So yes we do have a hydrographic survey ship that was upgraded as recently as 2011 - so when Nigeria doesn't have something it's because you don't need it, but when SA doesn't have something it's because we are broke.... Even though we have a larger budget?... Interesting - OPVs aren't Frigates.... Learn the difference -what decent air defence system does Nigeria have.... Please share - a TDL is not something you can just buy... We wanted to buy link16 but Nato said no.... Hence we built one ourselves and its even better than link16... Good luck trying to buy something that so few countries have in the first place and don't want to sell. - I asked what tactical communication equipment you have.... Not "do you have a signal formation? " -what motorised atgm systems do you have... Show us - tin shield isn't modern bru.... Its from the cold war -NASDRA is an agency not a piece of equipment -OK more things that Nigeria don't have: anti ship capability, anti sub capability, no portable ground surveillance radars, no spy satellite must I go on? |

QuietMynd: Repeating already defeated point still won't change ur current predicament. No neighbour's of ours have the balls to invade us, I can't say the same 4 u. Throughout our history as a country we never encroach our neighbors territory to warrant an invasion. Same can't be said of your country, so u have everything to worry about, go get every weapon system since they fill a niche in your threat assessment. Who knows Angola or Zimbabwe might be the one knocking at ur door in the future armed with russian cruise missiles. My bru our military is unchallenged in Sub-Saharan Africa.... Our results on deployment and international exercises speak for themselves. |

kabe1: SANDF so broke, troops have to buy their own boots The SANDF has gone as far as stopping recruitment drives to save money, while they can't even ensure fresh food for deployed troops.
Pretty high standards alright. the average troop/Private gets paid R12000 per month.... I'm pretty sure they can buy there own boots if they want to.... And judging by your militia you call an army, your guys have to buy everything themselves bar weapons |

kabe1: How many 3rd Generation VT-4 Main Battle Tanks does the SANDF have in service?
Does the SANDF have Super Tucanos in service?
How many CH-4 UCAVs does the SANDF have in service?
I don't see any modern artillery systems in the SANDF?
I don't see any modern Tank Destroyers in the SANDF.
I don't see any Landing Ship Tanks in the SANDF.
Any M346F/A aircrafts in the SANDF, I don't think so.
Any modern Hydrographic ship in the SANDF.... none!! -Olifant Mk1b and Mk2 are by definition 3rd gen tanks as they have composite armour and have computer stabilised fire control systems... So yeah we have over 190 3rd generations mbts - no why would we have Super Tucanos if we have Rooivalk? - we have Seeker 400s - T5-52 as well as upgraded G6 which is the longest firing 155mm SPHs in the world. And the G5 is one of the(if not thee) longest firing towed 155mm howitzer in the world... All linked to linkza of course - SAN has never had an lst in its history since we don't need one.... What we do need is a LHD. - We have 24 modern BAE Hawk lift - even current SAS Protea has seen extensive upgrades throughout her life... However as you very well know our new Hydrographic vessel is being delivered next year. - where is Nigerias submarines? - where is Nigeria's frigates? - where is Nigeria's Air defence system? -where is Nigerias TDL? -Where is Nigerias tactical communication system? - Where is Nigeria's motorised ATGMs? - Where is Nigerias Mobile radar systems? -where is Nigerias blufor tracking system Must I go on? |

kabe1: Do you know what a more modern military looks like?
In what way, shape or form is the SANDF more modern than the Nigerian military for Christ's sake?
The Nigerian military regularly fights in a combined arms environment with Drones, Aircrafts, Artillery and Operations command sharing and distributing information in real time.
The Nigerian military has more Main Battle Tanks, more Ships, More Artillery systems, More UCAVs, more ISR aircrafts, the Nigerian Air Force has an availability rate of 80% , we have conducted more military operations outside our country. he said modern... Not quantity |
