Shma: Why should I do it? No link, no report on its findings, no nothing just a mere write-up.
Now that we've tackled your other shenanigans, you're just about to defend this blog to your grave. while at it, dispute Statista- one of the most reputable sources which says our poverty rate as of 2022 is 16%. Or do you just believe countries with black-ridden economies were never bound to develop? Here's your link "the international poverty headcount rate is expected to continue its decline, but only at a moderate rate to 33.1 percent in 2020 and 32.4 percent in 2021." https://databank.worldbank.org/data/download/poverty/33EF03BB-9722-4AE2-ABC7-AA2972D68AFE/Global_POVEQ_KEN.pdfAnd no it's nothing to do with race........just facts my bru!! |

chrisooblog: So? still trying to figure out the point you are trying to make Follow the conversation.......rvp was saying Kenya's poverty level was 17% when in actual fact it's closer to 40% |

Shma: Which latest figure? 2015? . Please, drop the link. Even with your link, Kenyan data is 7yrs old. Too outdated to justify anything in 2022. "Another important message is that, as Kenya urbanizes, cities are not providing enough economic opportunities for urban households to improve their income levels and obtain adequate standards of living. Despite a drop in the growth rate caused by the global COVID-19 pandemic, the international poverty headcount rate is expected to continue its decline, but only at a moderate rate to 33.1 percent in 2020 and 32.4 percent in 2021." Shma: Statista collects and integrates data from different sources then they come out with their findings. They don't just dig data in their bat. Statista GmbH (Hamburg) collects and aggregates data from multiple public and private sector sources, including ACTA, AWA, Euromonitor, Gfk, Outfit, Scarborough, Simmons, Target Group Index and VUMA
We're in 2022, not 2015. You cannot use 2015 data to prove anything. At least 2018, for Nigeria, it makes a little bit of sense, Boer. see my other post and Stfu |

Shma: Your rage is not coming from WB source. It's how I've called things as they are while quoting samboro. I have no apology for that if your nerves were hurt, sorry(for not apologizing).
Secondly, I quoted jl115 with 2015 figures to debunk his 37.9% rate - which he didn't Back-up with any reliable source. QM: With the descending curve. 2005 - 46•8% 2015 - 36•1%
How the hell can the figure pump once again in 2022 to a whopping 37•9% when the curve in those 10 good consecutive yrs has been going down?
Statista, a source that has been countlessly used to prove things here, it has a 2021 poverty rate data at 16%, you can't disregard it.
Had to embolden all the years to save you from sinking deep into the miasma of confusion. "Another important message is that, as Kenya urbanizes, cities are not providing enough economic opportunities for urban households to improve their income levels and obtain adequate standards of living. Shma: Also, the curve is descending. I anticipate a shocking figure in the next 5 yrs with the same trend. 2005 - 2015, the gap drastically reduced with a whopping 10% Yes and South Africa's decreased by nearly 10% as well between 2005 and 2015. |

Why not 40%, or better yet get the latest figures, with a credible source. Baie dankie meneer. Because it's not 40% it's 87%.....and it isn't a random figure, it is a statistical fact from the WB |

Just40: please adjust the poverty line to 5 dollars per day so he will know how poor his country is.
I believe at 5 dollars, Kenya poverty rate will almost be at 85%..
5 dollars is a more realistic line for a middle and lower middle income country. Shot @$5.50 a day SA: 56.9% Ghana: 55.1% Kenya: 86.6% Nigeria: 92% |

rvp20182: 17 percent of kenya live in extreme or absolute poverty. This international poverty line of about 2 dollars a day a person. 40 for Nigeria.
Now when we talk poverty - they are many types of poverty - and measures - even in developed country - someone earning less than 20K dollars a year is poor and receive a food stipend. I honestly don't know where you get your figures: World Bank poverty figures: @ $1.90 a day South Africa: 18.7% Kenya: 37.1% Nigeria: 39.1% |
