Family / Re: Will I Regret Not Having Children by Jman06(m): 9:30pm On Mar 28
jelel6:
I think to have or not to have children should be a MAJOR decision. Unfortunately, we have been programmed to get a Job, marry, and have children. Me included. So what should have been a major decision to make ends up being trivial.

But there's nothing trivial about birthing, raising, and caring for children. Not every person in the world is going to be able to commit to, and then have the capabilities to shoulder such responsibilities.

Fact is, if Nigeria was a less judgemental society. A few more people would be contented with the happiness and pride they find in other sources besides children.
Imagine if everybody has this mindset of not wanting children! Do you know that would lead to extinction of the human species from earth? Procreation is good for continuity of life and that is why it is good for people to give birth to offsprings.

Personally, the only reason I'm considering marriage is to have children. I specifically love children but I'll birth just 3 maximum and give them the best in life.

This attitude of not wanting to birth children is alien to our culture and is typical of those who "wannabe" like oyibos. We have many of such people especially in the southern part of the country. Such people forget that the oyinbo people they wannabe like have strong healthcare system and old people's homes that cater for the aged. If Nigerians with our poor healthcare system and bad economy want to copy the western lifestyle of not wanting children, then extinction would catch up with us faster.

You actually think it is about opposition. Obidients would not stop entertaining us. grin

Nigerian politicians are greedy bastards that are all in the game for their selfish interest. You think because a politician moves from APC or PDP, then he automatically becomes a saint πŸ˜‚
Most of those that won elections in the last general election under LP are not your regular politicians. They were mostly new crop of people whom we thought could do things differently from the regular politicians.

It's unfortunate that these six guys have chosen to shoot themselves in the foot with this singular act of decamping. These are people who cannot even win an election in their wards but rode to power on the back of Peter Obi. Watch out, it's the end of the road for them politically because PDP already has strong politicians who have been into the game for long and there's no way these green horns can match them in any contest. It would have been more honorable for them to swim or sink with LP.

When I first felt the desire to be child free and not have children I was in my 20s. Several people told me the feeling would change or I would change my mind as time goes by.

As the years went by my desire didn't wane neither did my mind change. The desire only grew stronger and my mind more convinced that motherhood is not for me.

I have no regrets so far and I don't see myself regretting the choice. Home ownership and companionship with a good man, matter to me more than biological children do.
Op, consider marrying this lady since both of you are on the same page with regards to not desiring to have children.

You can marry and be fvccking yourselves without having children. At least, you'll be spending a huge chunk of your money on condoms and contraceptive pills which is good for my profession.

With all the shenanigans going on in labour party

This is just the beginning

Serious implosion is coming

Even Abure is doing anyhow now

They weren't serious one bit
Shenanigans go on in other parties as well, be it APC, PDP, APGA etc, they all experience internal crisis. What is happening currently in LP is just one man (Abure) trying to impose himself on others. It's good that even INEC has reject the outcome of that shambolic convention. The crisis would soon be resolved and the right party excos elected. Abure will finally bow out in shame.

See as these f00ls shot themselves in the foot!

Unpopular politicians that rode to power on the back of Peter Obi. Their best bait would have been to remain in labor party and provide a good opposition to PDP in the state. That way it'll be easier for them to go for second term and still enjoy the support of the people.

Now that they hurriedly decamped to PDP, it is game over for them because they can never win PDP tickets considering that PDP already has some strong political gurus in their fold. They'll just complete one term and go into political oblivion.

Enugu State seriously need a second party to provide the much-needed opposition to PDP. One party system is not good for the people in a democracy!

Men just have to start placing responsibilities on women too. Don't allow yourselves to be cajoled into bearing all the burdens of women!

Otherwise, you'll die before your time.

If she says you're not a "real man", make her understand that she is not a "real woman" too.

He was very right in that thread. Imagine if a handful of Christian youths had come to Deborah's rescue at the time, it is very likely that she could have been saved.

But Christians in this country are so emasculated and it is getting worse! 'Islamizing' this country is just a matter of small time from the look of things!

Good that you have stated that it's a "story" and that you ''constructed" it. Super story for that matter!

God created man to feed...

Provide for and protect his woman.

I don't think a relationship can work effectively the other way around.

Even the Bible says a man that can't provide for his woman is worse than an infidel.

No man should sit and allow his woman feed him. My pride as a man will never allow me accept such a fate. I will rather go and carry block on a building site or pack sh-t than allow a woman feed me.

Tufiakwa... God forbid!
God didn't create men to take care of and protect any woman! At least not in this modern age where both gender has equal opportunities to employment and wealth! If we were in the olden days when patriarchy was the order of the day and women's place was in the kitchen and the bedroom, I'll agree with you. You cannot educate women and give them jobs( thus displacing many men from the labor market) and still expect men to provide for same women. Doing that will drive many men into commiting crime to meet up. Both the man and woman should contribute equally towards running the relationship or marriage.

Only f00lish simps allow themselves to be deceived into carrying the family's financial burdens alone. No wonder many of such men die young!

Op, I'm sure that if I had asked you that time you were balling, you would have claimed that the girl loved you. The earlier guys understand the fact that no woman (except mum and sisters) truly loves a man, the better for them.

That girlfriend or wife of yours is only there because of the benefits she's deriving from the relationship either your fine face to brag to her friends about or most especially your money.

Sadly the OP is misguided.

This is the mumbling of an emotionally battered and subdued man that wants to be free.

Truthfully, he could have lost it and escalated the whole scenario but methinks that the dude is a weakling.

The tremor in his voice says it all though that can help his case in the court of law as he seems for divorce.

It's debatable that this can happen in the advanced countries but I doubt if any right thinking woman would do that to a man that is in control of his world financially.
If you call this real G a weakling, what would you call men who catch their wives in similar act but would still be the ones to beg her not to divorce him Or don't you know such men exist?

To me, that man did the right thing for not allowing his emotion cause him to do something silly that might send him to jail. Simply divorce the lady and move on with better women.

Abegi Education in Nigeria started in the West during the colonial erra (first secondary school was the now Yaba tech) and education spread fast in Nigeria through Awo's free education program which made the western states most educated as at that time. The first uni in Nigeria UI was in Ibadan , go and read history bro. Did you knew Aguyi Ironsi nepotism led to his ousted which eventually led to the civil war breakout in 1967. Igbos were known to be major traders in the North before Northerners started the retaliation of Ahmadu Bello's death by Nzeogu and his coup plotters.
Igbos started tribalism and marginalization in Nigeria and that's why the North and are feeling insecure around the Igbos. Truth be told no region in Nigeria want a typical Igbo as a president even if he is an angel because of what they experienced when Igbos occupied the hem of affairs of Nigeria
You're not a good student of history! Go ask about the kano massacre of Igbos during which several Igbos were killed in Kano by Hausas! Pregnant women had their bellies cut open while both the woman and her fetus were slaughtered eventually. All these happened before Nzeogu coup. Infact, it was the atrocious killing of Igbos and destruction/theft of their properties by Hausas that led Nzeogu and his boys to strike.

So, next time before you type about something you know nothing about, do your research very well and state the truth.

stop capping about merit and competition,u guys are terribly fraudulent, nothing is special here.
From the north schooling in the east and I can't respect any easterner claiming he is educated because of the level of fraud I have seen here.
No be everybody get strength for do or die and magu magu
Hope you check JAMB and WAEC performances every year? Before you accuse Igbos of fraud in university admission, check their performances in WAEC, JAMB and JUPEB, you'll find out that they do very well in those exams. I won't rule out the fact that due to many outstandingly good students seeking admission, there may be possibility of some people trying to outsmart others by bribing their ways in, but that doesn't mean that fraud is the basis for Igbos coming top in the above lists.

If you go to North and South West universities, you'll still see people bribing their ways into the university system, so it is not peculiar to the southeast.

We are training more healthcare professionals in the southeast yet we're not building hospitals where they can work so that our people would enjoy increased access to quality healthcare. The southeast has one of the poorest healthcare in the country! The primary, secondary and tertiary healthcare facilities are all not working.

Go to states like Enugu, none of the secondary healthcare facilities is functional because the government could not employ healthcare professionals to work there. You have empty buildings without professionals! Primary facilities are even worst! The state has only one tertiary hospital which is Parklane to cater for the whole of the citizens of the state. When states like Edo has up to three tertiary hospitals along with functional secondary facilities. Same with Lagos.

If a statistics of life expectancy in the six geopolitical zones is taken today, I'm sure the southeast would be among the states with lowest life expectancy! So many cases of people collapsing and dying. Deaths here and there from treatable ailments!

My point is, while we train more healthcare professionals, let's us revamp our healthcare facilities at the three levels to ensure that the people enjoy top notch healthcare. We need to build top notch healthcare system in the east because our population is fast declining due to the fact that we imbibe western lifestyles faster which has resulted to people not birthing much kids these days or even showing general aparthy to marriage. With the above scenario, if we don't get healthcare right in the region, then we are headed for extinction.

Anyways, kudos to us for showing more interests in education nowadays.

Male logic 606: Men are polygamous by nature (forgive the repition of the phrase, I kind of like it because it reminds me of the music group naughty by nature) they can not eat one soup for life.

I am simply flipping that male logic so you all can see what the other side looks like. It is okay to shout from the roof tops and tell women that you are polygamous by nature, but the moment you are at the receiving end of that male logic and nature of yours, you start wailing again.

You people have been blaming us since the garden of Eden, I wasn't even blaming you guys o, just stating the obvious or should I say making a statement of fact.

Most polygamous men go after the unmarried ladies while cheating wives usually cheat with their unmarried exes in most cases. Can you now see that there's little to know link between polygamous men and cheating wives
