Another major cause of this rise in kidney failures is the indiscriminate use of medicines; especially NSAIDs and antibiotics in Nigeria. The western world whom we learnt orthodox medicine from don't allow indiscriminate use of medicines but here in Nigeria, people take medications indiscriminately!

We allow untrained people who have no knowledge of drugs sell all kinds of drugs without prescription and this has exposed many Nigerians to the toxic effects of drugs including kidney and liver failures. We urgently need to put a stricter regulation in place to ensure that drugs sales and handling is restricted only to trained professionals. In this 21st century, We shouldn't be having anything like patent medicine dealerships which allows illiterates poison people with drugs just for financial gains.

This suspension is uncalled for! Why single out the man for punishment? To you, all the cries by civil servants in Nigeria does not matter since you're not one of us. Do you know what it means to be earning a salary that finishes within one week of payment You have about 4 weeks that you're expected to go to work and your salary finishes in the first week due to high cost of living. You can't even afford food to eat let alone transportation to work, yet you don't see the urgent need for significant salary increase by government? Just because you are not affected you think that workers shouldn't demand significant pay raise! That's very selfish of you!

If government doesn't want to raise the minimum wage to at least ₦500k per month, then the number of days workers are to go to work in a month should be reduced to a maximum of 14 days per month. That way, the workers can have some free days to do other things to boost their income. The ₦500k is not even enough! An average family in Nigeria at the moment need at least ₦1M per month to live averagely.

Please do not judge marriage now that you are young and strong, you won't be for very long. A family member who retired from oil and gas he was married and divorced. He came back to Nigeria, had an illness employed two Nurses to be taking care of him but it was still not enough. You need people who truly cares, who will keep Nurses on their toes, who will carry your matter for head like gala. The man died of starvation, the nurses were just packing money and taking groceries to their home. Your Nephew and Nieces are not your children.

Many of them would want to rely on their nephews and nieces in their old ages after rejecting marriage and not having their own children. Nowadays, it is no longer easy for anyone to release their children to others so anyone hoping on other people's children to care for them at old ages is on his/her own.

What Nigeria need is to create our own unique retirement and old people's home system to cater for Nigerians when they grow old, so that Nigerians won't be under pressure to marry and to have kids just to have people that will care for them at old age.



These old people's homes of various standard based on people's financial capacity; a room and parlor, self content, shared rooms, etc will be built in every LGA.


Private organizations can partner with government to ensure proper and adequate management and private organizations and religious institutions like Churches, Mosques can also invest to have their own privately owned old people's home and retirement homes just as we have private universities.

If you like, have all the old people's homes in the world, people will still prioritise giving birth. Reproduction is one of the characteristics of living things and so, people will always want to reproduce their genes and this ensures the continuity of life.. it'll be inhuman for government to stop people from having children due to their financial situations.

Reproduction cannot be restricted to only the rich. If this becomes the case, the not so rich would feel defeated in all aspects of life. As long as we are in this world, there'll always be the rich and the poor. Also, people will still be transitioning from both ends ie the poor could become rich someday and vice versa.

Many Nigerians who left the country did that for the same reason. Some survived kidnapper's dens and decided to run out of the country. Nigeria's healthcare system needs a total overhaul

Yes o! The current salaries of civil servants is nothing to write home about compared to the cost of living. Imagine that nowadays, most government workers have their salaries exhausted in just the first week of the month. They'll still pay house rents and transportation fares to work.

NLC and TUC must insist on ₦500000 monthly pay for the lowest cadre of civil servants! That's the only way workers can survive the current astronomical increase in the cost of everything in the country.

Your problem is "wokism"! In Nigeria and Africa, men are still the providers and protectors of their homes and that's what keeps most families going. An average Nigerian lady loath the idea of co-providing with their husbands, hence the saying that "your money is our money while my money is my money". Even you that is sounding so sanctimonious and feigning wokeness here will never marry a man who expects you to provide for the family, so why the pretence Like I said, provision for the family by a man is smoother and goes more seamlessly when the man is married to a girl who is far younger than him. The problem is not with food that comes into the country rather it is caused by indiscriminate use of medicines in the country without prescription. Medicines are meant to be used strictly by prescription and when the need outweighs the risks, but in Nigeria, the open drug market system makes it easy for people to consume medications indiscriminately. For instance, NSAIDS and antibiotics are used indiscriminately in this state of Enugu. Just a slight feeling of fever or headache, they rush into roadside chemists and open drug markets to buy drugs they're not supposed to use and often times, they take overdose of such drugs. This is why even children now suffer from kidney failures!
