Both colleges are good and fit your budget for tuition fees. However, what is more important is transitioning from accounting to a healthcare program; please check the school requirements so you won't waste your application fee. Secondly, convincing the VO of your study permit won't be an easy nut; they will see it as a relocation pathway for you, since there is no career progression. Look out for a post-secondary program, and your O-level; you should cover science courses. Ensure to check the school requirements.
Lolziks:
Good morning, everyone.

I am planning to begin my application to study in Canada and have been researching affordable colleges as well as programs with strong job prospects. After careful consideration, I am leaning towards pursuing a Pharmacy Technician diploma.

My concern, however, is that my academic background is in Accounting, and I do not have a science background. Before I proceed with my application, I would appreciate your advice on the following:

* Is it possible to gain admission into a Pharmacy Technician program without a science background?
* Are there any colleges you would recommend for someone transitioning from Accounting into the healthcare field?
* Based on my research, I am particularly interested in the New Brunswick Community College (NBCC) and Nova Scotia Community College (NSCC). Would you recommend either of these, or are there other public colleges I should consider?

I would be grateful for any guidance or recommendations from those who have gone through a similar process or have experience with studying in Canada.

Thank you very much.

You don't generate yourself walk into the bank and tell them you want to do a MyBank Statement; some banks have that provision in their app, Palmpay is not acceptable for visa purpose.
Mavor:
Morning folks. Please how do I generate bank statement with ticket ID for Access Bank, FCMB & Palmpay? This is new to me and I understand it gives the Canadian Embassy direct access to verify my account with a ticket ID and password. And for those who used fintechs like Grey, how did you do it for them? Thanks in advance.

Have you try to raise webform?
Great1tech:
2 months they never reply re application, when should i expecting a reply and whats always the possible outcome of such long waiting ? Shouldn’t they have asked for medical btw ?
TravelRe: Canadian Student Visa Thread Part 23 by JMG12:
The same procedure as the PA, but for kids, they don't do all test like adults, the test they will do depending on their age. So when registeration indicate their age.
Omoniyimi12345:
Please, what is the procedure for up front medicals?
If I am applying with kids, are we all doing medicals at once?
Then, is there a specific period I am meant to do the medicals?
Can I do it now even though I plan to apply for Visa in August?
TravelRe: Canadian Student Visa Thread Part 23 by JMG12: 9:12pm On Jun 02
Assumption. First time applicant did upfront medical, never applied to any country before, no travel history.
apexrankis:
This person must have applied on IRCC portal and refused before reapplication or applied for another type of VISA after refusal for a different VISA application.
TravelRe: Canadian Student Visa Thread Part 23 by JMG12: 11:47am On May 29
I have responded and also given an insight, that's all.
Ruthiegal:
My question was based on your timeline and had nothing to with your approval . I am not sure why you would think that. huh huh huh
TravelRe: Canadian Student Visa Thread Part 23 by JMG12: 7:51am On May 29
Yes, but upfront medical is not a prerequisite for approval.
Ruthiegal:
Hi, did you do upfront medicals?
TravelRe: Canadian Student Visa Thread Part 23 by JMG12: 6:19pm On May 28
Application submitted on 28th April, approved on 20th May 2026. It was added recently. I am just sharing the official guidelines and my experience to help others.
AbelAbdul:
It was not added recently. I saw it even as at last year.

TravelRe: Canadian Student Visa Thread Part 23 by JMG12: 4:42pm On May 28
That part was recently added. This was something I noticed a few days ago. I thought of sharing. This is a recent update.
AbelAbdul:
The imm1294 form was last updated in 2024. The PAL/TAL column are optional.
Applicants going for Masters/PhD programs in public schools are exempted from PAL or TAL.
The QAC is strictly for applicants wishing to study in Quebec.
TravelRe: Canadian Student Visa Thread Part 23 by JMG12: 1:14am On May 27
IRCC has updated the IMM1294E form for study permit applications made outside Canada, they have added a place for PAL/TAL and Quebec Acceptance Certificate number and expiry date.
The previous version is now outdated and no longer acceptable.
Applicants should ensure they use the latest form before submission to avoid delays or application issues.

The best approach for you in terms of POF is for your sponsor to do a GIC. Does your program align with your job role over the years?
DrOBD:
I recently got admission to study a 2 years college programme in health, in ontario. I'm in my early 30s, highest level of education is secondary education, WAEC. My sister who lives in Canada paid my first year fees fully and is happy to sponsor me fully.
I have received my PAL, attestation letter, acceptance, to resume this coming September.

I am the last of family of 5, and the only one left in Nigeria. How do I prove ties to home country. Will proof of funds from my sister be enough. I have been working in the same company for about 10 years where they pay us by hand, money is very small and I don't have any savings in my account.

Any ideas on how I can prove ties to my home country, sort the proof of funds and write SOP?
TravelRe: Canadian Student Visa Thread Part 23 by JMG12: 4:26pm On May 11
Yes, you can apply for the other family members before you travel; just click on "accompanying a family who has a study permit or the type of visa the PA has."
Omoniyimi12345:
Good morning.
I want more insight on this please.
Can you submit for other family members before you travel? Is there a possibility that their application will be approved before you travel? So that you can actually leave together.
TravelRe: Canadian Student Visa Thread Part 23 by JMG12: 12:00pm On May 10
They can use a visit- all-purpose or study permit, they don't need a letter of acceptance
ehiremen2002:
@Oghenerukoko, I’ve been following this forum for a while and find myself in a very similar situation. I am currently assisting my aunt and her family friend with their applications, which we are looking to submit within the next 48 hours. Here is a breakdown of their profiles:

Profile 1: My Aunt
Family Structure: Family of 5, but applying for the Study Permit for herself and 2 children only (husband is staying back for now).

Academic Status: Admitted for a Master’s in Leadership at the University of Regina; $15,000 tuition deposit already paid.

Financials: Approximately ₦60 million across two personal bank accounts.

Travel History: Solo travel to Dubai (2019); East African trip with children last year.

Ties/Background: Senior Sales Manager in Hospitality. Registered personal business (inactive). Husband has an active business with full CAC/Tax documentation, plus property and vehicle titles.

Profile 2: Family Friend
Family Structure: Mother and 4 children (2 biological, 2 foster with legal guardianship affidavits).

Academic Status: Also admitted for a Master’s at Regina made 10k cad tuition deposit

Visa History: Mother has a valid Visitor Visa (TRV) until 2034. All 4 children have TRVs valid until August (recently renewed passports). Husband also holds an existing TRV with multiple previous visits to Canada.

Financials: Husband’s Domiciliary account holds over $170,000 USD, plus ₦50 million in local accounts. Includes full business documentation (CAC/Tax).

Travel History: Trip to East Africa last year; wife and kids have not yet utilized their Canadian visas.

Specific Question Regarding Minor Applicants
When filling out the study permit forms for the children accompanying a parent on a Master's degree:

What should be listed as the "School Name" for the children? Since they are minors, they generally attend primary or secondary schools based on their residence in Canada, but they may not have a specific Letter of Acceptance (LOA) yet.

Does anyone have experience on whether to list a generic "Public School Board" or a specific school in the Regina area?
TravelRe: Canadian Student Visa Thread Part 23 by JMG12: 11:56am On May 10
From the VO decision, you don't have continuity of funds; it means your employment ends when you are in Canada, as such funds will no longer come. Also, the funds you showed are from a refund from DLIs and property sold, so practically, you no longer have assets in your home country. The first year is taken care of, but there is no proper plan to fund the second year. The VO wants to either see funds for the second year or a working plan to finance the second year of your stay without working. Your spouse’s income/employment was not considered stable enough.
If you consider reapplying, ensure you include stable and traceable income, business income, or salary that continues even while studying; the VO wants to see funds for the second year or a realistic funding plan without depending on working in Canada, etc....
liberallatty:
Hello all

A friend student's visa application just got rejected now. Kindly help with any information on what step we can follow to either appeal or reapply. I attached the refusal letter below.

Thank you.
TravelRe: Canadian Student Visa Thread Part 23 by JMG12: 11:22am On May 10
It's a long stay, so it's a one-way ticket.
Omoniyimi12345:
Please, for POF, the travel expenses will be for return ticket or just one way ticket?
TravelRe: Uk Student Visa/tier 4 Pbs - Your Questions Answered Part 9 by JMG12: 11:17am On May 08
Please be sure to declare all previous refusals. A previous refusal doesn't mean you won't be approved. Explain the reason for the refusal.
Mystique8:
Hello Everyone,

I recently got admission at Glasgow Caledonian University, Scotland for January 2027. However I have a previous study refusal from September 2025. During the application, they did not ask about my immigration history, I'm sure it will come up before cas issuance and I don't intend hiding it due to deposit issues. Do you suggest I attach a cover letter explaining how my circumstances have changed while submitting the refusal letter to the school?
TravelRe: Canadian Student Visa Thread Part 23 by JMG12: 9:44am On May 08
Going by the example you mentioned, you can show 35k CAD.
nwaogukings03:
Say for example, my total cost (Tuition, + Accommodation + Living expenses+ Miscellaneous) is say 70k CAD.

But I have already paid the complete tuition fee, remaining 35k CAD. So I want to show POF for 35 CAD

Will IRCC demand to know how I paid the tuition fee when I apply for study permit?
TravelRe: Canadian Student Visa Thread Part 23 by JMG12: 9:40am On May 08
It is not disastrous. If he has the finance to cover for the entire family and he is able to convince the VO that it is not relocation pathway, it's fine, but if otherwise, then he should apply first after getting his approval, he can submit for the other family members.

What will you advice he do?
Rahab409:
Why would you allow him to use hus family as his home ties. Don't even try it. It may be disastrous.
TravelRe: Canadian Student Visa Thread Part 23 by JMG12: 4:46pm On May 07
Yes, and also you can do direct local transfer too.
Omoniyimi12345:
Thank you. Do these platforms accept Naira Cards?
TravelRe: Canadian Student Visa Thread Part 23 by JMG12: 11:01am On May 07
1. There are various platforms, such as Flywire, PayMyTuition Fee, AlliancePrime, etc.
2. I will recommend that you have the complete two-year funds accessible. If you don't have the 2yrs funds available, then you can show 1 year's funds and explain how you intend to finance your second year (When doing this, don't tell them you will work to offset your bills).
Omoniyimi12345:
Good morning, thank you for the help so far.

1. Please which payment platform are you using to pay school fees?

2. About proof of funds? If my course of study is for 2 years, do I need to show double of what IRCC has requested? Or just that 1 year is enough?
TravelRe: Canadian Student Visa Thread Part 23 by JMG12: 10:56am On May 07
Hello, congratulations on your admission.
1. I will advise you apply only while you use your family as home ties, if you get your visa approved then you can put in for them.
2. Then don't need PAL, likewise you, if you are accepted for a master's or phd program you are eligible to come with your dependent, if otherwise they are not eligible except on tourist visa.
Oghenerukoko:
Good morning. I don't know if I should say I am new here because I've been following this platform since last year and have been able to get my admission from the posts I read here. Kudos to Soltech1000, Okonkwobestman1, Sopwriter, Gloriousange. I read all of you posts one by one. I want to start my visa and I have questions.

1 We are family of 4 and all our children are minors. If the money is not the problem, would you advise me to leave my family behind or apply with them?
2 Will my wife and children need their own PAL?

Thank you

How do you mean your sponsor?
Zanemom:
Thank you very much. What about my sponsor ?
TravelRe: Canadian Student Visa Thread Part 23 by JMG12: 12:31pm On Apr 16
You only do medical examination if they are accompanying you to Canada.
Zanemom:
Good morning all,
I got admission at Humber college to study one year PGC in Addiction and Mental Health. My husbands cousin( same last name) that lives in the USA studied medlab in Nigeria now, a USA soldier and works in a medical lab in Georgia accepted to sponsor me however my husband will also be submitting his bank statement too.
I have booked my upfront medicals. I have 2 kids but they will be staying back with their dad. Now the question, MUST i and my dependents carry out medicals together now even though they are not coming with me at this time? I read somewhere that my dependents according to IRCC is expected to carry out their medicals at the same time with me so not to be a problem during the time of PR.
Dear Gurus in the house is this true? And can my husbands cousin sponsor me?
Thank you.

Hello, Passage is a loan company they provide loan facilities to international students to cover their tuition and living expenses, or just tuition, with collateral paid to them after approving the student loan.
Dame24:
Hi everyone, does anyone here know someone (or personally came) to Canada through a company called Passage? They handle things like school admission and tuition.

Someone asked me about them, and I know nothing personally apart from what they have on their social media and would appreciate some insight or experience with them.

Thanks

The summary of it all is that your NYSC work experience does not count. Except you make it a proper work, also you will need 3 years woeking experience to qualify, this will give you a good point.
Mojixxee:
Good day everyone,

I need some clarification please from those who understand Canada PR pathways.

I graduated around 2024 and completed my NYSC from January 2025 to January 2026 (as stated on my certificate). During my NYSC, I worked as a teacher. I was not paid by the school, but I received the monthly allowance from the Federal Government.

I have applied to schools in Canada. One placed me on a waitlist, while the other (Sheridan College – Supply Chain Management, Logistics Automation) has offered me admission. If everything goes well with my visa, I should be in Canada by around August 2026.

My concern is this:

From the time I graduated up till when I move to Canada, the only work experience I have is my NYSC.

I plan to write CELPIP and also take a French test by January 2027 to improve my profile for Express Entry.

Please, I want to ask:

1. Can NYSC experience (as a teacher) be counted as valid work experience for Federal Skilled Worker (FSW) under Express Entry?
2. Does it matter that I was not paid directly by the school, but only received the Federal Government allowance?
3. Will this type of experience be accepted by IRCC?

I would really appreciate guidance from those who have gone through this or have accurate information.

Thank you very much.

The tax will expose you, they didn't ask you for your income tax as a salary earner, submit your salary account and payslip if available, then you are good to go.
Zybob:
Thank you for your response. My Worry is that, the tax filing does not correlate with the monthly inflow ove the years. Imagine submitting a statement of N34,875,500.00 with monthly income of N5,000,000/00 as an example. Wouldnt the tax filling need to correlate with the monthly inflow?
TravelRe: Canadian Student Visa Thread Part 23 by JMG12: 10:06am On Mar 12
To avoid problems with the airline or immigration, it is safest for the mother to bring them at least 3 weeks to 1 month before the visa expires.
ehiremen2002:
If the vistor visa for the kids are expiring 30th August 2026, when best should the mum bring them in for the airline not to prevent them from leaving nigeria.
