Mrfeel:All states are secular states. |
SeeWahala:Nwanne Jiri eziokwu na-eme ihe, let's not be spreading hate and misinformation all the time about this country. In any part of the Nigeria, anybody including non-nigerian citizens can become elected or appointed. The major problem would be if the person has lived or invested there long enough to gain popularity. It's easier in metropolitan areas like Kano and Lagos. *OGHENE Egho, from Delta State was elected to the House of Representatives to represent Amuwo Odofin Federal Constituency, Lagos State in the House of Representatives on the platform of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP. *Hon. Tony Nwulu was elected member of the House of Representatives on the platform of the PDP. He dumped the PDP for Unity Progressive Party (UPP) on which platform he pursued his governorship ambition in Imo State. The young lawmaker represented Oshodi Isolo, Lagos federal constituency. |
Dogalmighty17:Is Kamala Harris running for governor? |
mastermaestro:Go and tell your father to shut up. Wetin concern this post with Sharia? Am I a Muslim or am I in the North? If you're stupid, try and check who you're dealing with or you pick a physical location let me rearrange you. |
Cross Ke? Absolutely not. Separation of state and religion at all levels. In fact if the arms of government were actually doing their checks and balances, he'd be standing on thin ice right now to be booted out. |
Educationalserv:Even a blind kindergarten kid can see this has no relevance to the issue being discussed. Please if there's nothing meaningful or intelligent to add in this discussion, it would be nice to say cheers 🥂 |
Educationalserv:I don't know about that neither do you. They both won from incumbent PDP and APC stronghold state. It's no mean feat. Give a man his flowers irrespective of interest. Whatever happens later is nobody's business. |
Educationalserv:According to INEC in 2023, Obi + Kwankwaso = 7598220 vote. Both of them have strong structure they could have been able to pull ONLY if they were on a stronger coalition. It would not have been as easy to be throwing away their votes how LP votes were being discarded in broad daylight. Rivers State probably wouldn't have been traded last minute, they would have increased voter turnout for them plus 2-3 states within the North and South South That is fact. That was their (especially Kwankwaso's) missed opportunity. Meanwhile it was 1-1 for them NNPP won in Kano LP won in Abia (and we all know about Enugu) Anyways give them both their flowers. |
zeyt:Yeah, this is exactly where some nigerian politicians seem to lack the foresight to pull off a Tinubu or Joe Biden move, which is to stall your ambition and pull your resources together for a current viable candidate. In reward for VP, secretary of State or other key rulership position. Osibanjo was just placeholder for VP position. Tinubu was controlling almost everything including senate and house leadership. Now, as we saw with both Biden and Tinubu (even Abacha), This type of move also solidifies their own stand to go ahead for the top seat later. Kwankwaso was the biggest loser in this once in a lifetime case of 2023 elections. But it's not late for any of them Atiku, Kwankwaso, Tambuwal etc to form a strong merger. Can they find a strong southerner to be their VP or let down their egos to have a foot in the door? |
Gotocourt:Actually Tinubu will become like a Saint, held in high esteem almost like Mandela if he leaves after one tenure. The Northerners might actually be the one to dislodge cos they have been clamouring for a chance to complete their (Yar'Adua) Tenure. OBJ 8yrs + GEJ 6yrs + Tinubu 4yrs = 18yrs for the south against 10yrs (Yar'Adua 2yrs + Buhari 8yrs) for the North since 1999 democracy. The greatest alignment/power consolidation might be Tinubu taking a bow and APC bringing an northern/southeast ticket. It'll be beyond genius and APC might effectively end opposition with just that one move but politicians are mostly out of touch with reality so, let's watch the coming months to see who will be throwing their names into the hat. Maybe a scenario of someone like Tambuwal or Kwankwaso as VP to Obi. I don't know if Amaechi as VP to Atiku will fly but they and any other parties need to start banding together cos there can't be 26 different winners of the election. |
Abagworo:Anioma needs to be created but not necessarily for southeast cos they're having issues with the other tribes like Warri side who don't appreciate them being in the same state talk more of having capital just because of Babaginda's wife Miriam I know it's not based on ethnicity but Ogoja to the southeast ke? You wan burn everywhere? Ikwerre and Anioma sef no agree. Etiti state is the best proposed while Orlu/Urasi seems to be most popular in the southeast. |
saintjimos:It will take minimum 8 states per zone to attempt to balance the equation. But FCT, Lagoon and New Kaduna should be among the laziest names ever thought of. Etiti looks like the best placed (on map) for the southeast but they should change (maybe to English) name. Ekiti State already exists so the confusion in addressing them individually. Both Ekiti and Etiti has the same sound and meanings in Igbo language. Both words mean centre or central in Igbo. |
God1000:Honestly, many new states are needed. I think Nigeria needs at least 8 states per zone. Currently It doesn't favor many state people. Imo state: Udenwa, Rochas and Uzodinma from the same Orlu zone Rivers State: Peter Odili, Celestine Omehia, Rotimi Amaechi, Nyesom Wike all from within Igbo tribes despite having many languages and tribes in the state. Only few states like Delta has managed to be rotating power. It's even worse in terms of sharing locations for government institutions and development facilities |
casualobserver:You've outdone yourself. You've shifted the goal post to an entire different arena for an entire different sport on an entirely different continents. Cheers lad. Kindergarten must have been a headache for your teachers. |
casualobserver: casualobserver: casualobserver:I almost forgot Nairaland was a beehive of kids, for a second I thought I was replying to a mature person who could manage two phrases without being butt hurt and resorting to insults and keyboard warrior braggadocio. casualobserver:Were has Atiku been sitting all these past years since 2007? casualobserver:This is not the topic being discussed. Shifting goal posts don't win arguments. For the last time, 2023 Obi + Kwankwaso = 7598220 votes according to INEC. If Kwankwaso had the foresight and done a Joe Biden, he would have had a foot in and now been eyeing for the seat of President at the end of their tenure or per chance the principal gets impeached. Both of them have strong structure they could have been able to pull only if they were on a stronger coalition. Rivers State probably wouldn't have been traded last minute, increased voter turnout for them plus 2-3 states within the North and South South That is fact. That was the argument. That was their (especially Kwankwaso's) missed opportunity. Time cannot be rewound so, This conversation has ended. |
casualobserver:No part of your reply was related nor necessary to my comment. Try comprehensive reading, it develops the power of reasoning. |
casualobserver:@Bolded is why in politics, many keep running around like headless chicken. Born in Scranton, Pennsylvania, Biden moved with his family to Delaware in 1953. He graduated from the University of Delaware in 1965 and the Syracuse University College of Law in 1968. He was elected to the New Castle County Council in 1970 and the U.S. Senate in 1972. Barack Obama born in 1961, was barely 9yrs old when Biden first got elected into public office. Joe Biden served as a senator for 37 consecutive years from 1972 when Barack Obama was barely 11yrs till 2009 when he became Obama's vice president. Who be Kwankwaso that is barely 5yrs older than Peter Obi? This your type of mentality is part of what denied him a once in a lifetime opportunity to shake up the political landscape. Obi/Kwankwaso in 2023 would have been more than whatever APC pulled off against PDP in 2015. Add Kwankwaso's official votes to Peter Obi and you're already in 1st & 2nd territory then factor in their supporters in PDP/APC who would have voted for them on a stronger coalition and you see it would have been all over before Sunday morning. |
Ezmans:Existence of a million schools will not and does not hinder establishment of industries and manufacturing companies. |
casualobserver:Put Kwankwaso as PDP/APC flag bearer or pair him with Obi, Akpabio etc |
MAFP:You may become a citizen of a foreign If you're born in a vessel (air/sea) belonging to that country. |
BItt:Yes, that should be normal for a graduate. |
Natbrowny:Yes Yes Yes Just like Arnold Schwarzenegger, You don't need to be born in a country to hold political office except the number one seat in the country. However, Chidinma Adetshina cannot become president of Nigeria because she was born in South Africa and Barrack Obama, born in Hawaii, can become president of U.S.A not Kenya because office of the presidency requires that country should also be your country of birth. |
lovediehatelive:Most of the occupants of a 3 storey building (most likely 2 or 3 bedroom flats) can't afford lawyer!? Can you even hear yourself? If individually or collectively, none of them could serve a warning or restraining order to the so called land owner, then what are you doing in an apartment? All of them ought to be bundled back to their mamas houses to finish kindergarten. Awon living above your means, who you go impress? |
MrNipplesLover:What's your business type please? Or can you drop guideline for someone who wants to follow your advice? I mean 0naira, Olevel type of step by step guidance into what you mean or what sort of help they'll require to attain it. |
kayfx2:What specific tech skills? What type of jobs are the 4 openings so we know some niches to focus |
Suicide or just genuinely deaf cos I've seen some deaf wear earpiece so you would think they didn't hear you instead of just thinking they were ignoring you when you talk to them. Even if they were deaf, they should feel the heavy vibration from the train for long time before it reaches them. Naija train wey no be bullet train? |
lovediehatelive:Oga, lawyer no too cost. Serve the land owner court papers asap. Join the D.P.O, 2i.c or whichever police involved to arrest you, in the suit. |
Nice development. It should kick off immediately. |
God1000:Trump and Obama have nothing else to rival again as they can no longer campaign for presidency having both secured mandate for the maximum two terms. It's all politics. |
Kreesxxx:We lived near his sister and her family (Jehovah's Witnesses) in Owerri during his tenure as IGP. That's how it is for Egbema people. They collect stipends and appointments based on any of the state (Rivers or Imo) wey belle face at the moment. Left to me, Dem be indigenes of both states after all No be dem tell una to demarcate their community with imaginary line of state border. |
I remember when I used to carry pen in my pocket every single time. Start carrying screwdriver 🪛 or pen in your most accessible pocket. Stay on guard always especially while on transit. Grab and Start stabbing the nearest criminal or accomplice. No time for who you be or dragging your phone/pocket with them. That's their opportunity to manhandle you. If possible, target the driver brain or eye firstly. SURPRISE IS THE GREATEST ELEMENT OF ATTACK OR ESCAPE. |
If Okiro enter, Na still Imo state dey in charge o! Try other possible candidates. |
