The Ebute Meta Magistrate’s Court has sentenced a self-confessed drug-addict, Ibrahim Yahaya, to three years imprisonment for attempted murder.

The convict, who was arraigned on two counts of unruly conduct and attempted murder, was said to have caused body injury to one Suraju Yakubu, by beating and stabbing him with a broken bottle.

The offence was said to have been committed at Okobaba area of Ebute Meta on July 26, 2013 around 11.45pm.

The victim was however rushed to the hospital, just as the police arrested the suspect shortly after.

The charge read, “That you, Ibrahim Yahaya, on July 26, 2013, at about 23.45 hours, at 28 Okobaba Street, Ebute-Metta, in the Lagos Magisterial District, did conduct yourself in a manner likely to cause breach of the peace, by causing fear to the public and thereby committed an offence punishable under section 56 (1) (1) (a) of the Criminal Laws of Lagos State, Nigeria, 2011.

“That you Ibrahim Yahaya, on the same date, place, and time at the aforesaid magisterial district, did beat and stab one Suraju Yakubu with a broken bottle, and thereby committed an offence punishable under Section 171 of the Criminal Laws of Lagos state of Nigeria, 2011.”

The convict pleaded guilty to the charges and urged the court to forgive him.

In her ruling, the magistrate, Miss S. O. Solebo, convicted the accused of the two charges, and thereafter sentenced him to three years imprisonment without the option of fine.

Car TalkRe: The Best Tyre For Nigerian Roads by jodeci(op): 7:52am On Jul 31, 2013
Chynx: The cost varies from brand to brand and again is a function of rim size. I got my Bridgestone (Japan) rim 16 tyres in 2011 for 26k each (104k in total).
Tyres u can trust:
1. Michelin
2. Bridgestone (Japan)
3. Pirelli
4. Continental Contour
5. Goodyear
6. Yokohama
6. Hankook isn't bad too
If uve got d pay, settle for original Michelin or Bridgestone (Japan). You will never regret it.
thanks bro.

Car TalkRe: The Best Tyre For Nigerian Roads by jodeci(op): 8:03pm On Jul 30, 2013
john650: That's right, safety should be the operative word when shopping for a tyre. Things to lookout for is the date of manufacture, tread wear number, temperature resistance, speed symbol, maximum load capacity and traction.

The date of the manufacture is important for the buyer to determine its expiry date, which is normally four or five years depending on the brand. The manufacturing date is represented by four figures on the side wall of the tyre. The first two digits indicate the week of the year while the last two digits stand for the year. Tread wear number indicates the tyre’s wear rate. The higher the tread wear number is, the longer it should take for the tread to wear down. For example, a tyre graded 400 should last twice longer than a tyre graded 200. The temperature resistance, which is represented by letters “A,” “B “or “C,”indicates a tyre’s resistance to heat. Letter “A” is suitable for hot climate. Letter “B’ is meant for normal weather areas and while “C” is for cold areas. M+S is used to indicate that a tyre is suitable for mud and snowy terrains. It is popular in Nigeria and the SON said that it is appropriate for the Nigerian roads.

chikasin4: Wat is d milage of ur car, because engin oil depends kn d it. Mobile 1 is too expensive, dey sell it N7380 here in Enugu, but i will advice u to go for mobile 1000 20w-50. It is ok. I do change it evry 1000 miles or 2months on my toyota sienna 200 model with 170000 miles on it it cost N3200. Mobile one is too light, it is syntetic oil, it can cause d seals to lickage since our weather is hot.

EmmyDe25: Bleep them all! I wonder why a celebrity of Jazzy status will be donating 1M... This was exactly what i said on twitter when an handle with @TeamDonjazzy was trying to involve me in a tweet fight. The most annoying part is even that @Omojuwa has been spewing his usual poo about how Deltans give freely because of what Jazzy did, calling him a philantropist in the process.
If peopel like Nomoreloss, Azadus, Ruggedman donate 1M i can be singing their praises because i know they dont really have much, but for Don Jazzy?? I expected something better, unless all those things i do see on TV are mere stunts.
It is obvious you are still been fed by someone if not,you will know what it takes to give out 20k how much more 1m.

This your "it is only by man know man" before you get a job in port harcourt is wrong,Some of us knew no one before we got the one we have.I can tell u emphatically that people still get job based on merit.

For those who have 2.1 in Engineering, halliburton and SLB have been advertising for entry level jobs every other day,why not give it a try, even as i write, halliburton still has open vacancies at entry level.

All the folks around me knew no one before they got their jobs. Your man know man holds mostly for one-man companies.

The multinationals will subject you yo series of test.Keep pushing, keep trying...when it is your turn you will fall into place.

linktel: Thank God for this thread,i have a nissan altima 2001 model, and i mst say i got it from a friend, but i havent enjoyed the car for a full month, its either at a rewire or a mechanics place..the issues just keeps appearing once u fix one...av abandoned it at a mechanic's place when i was told that the injector needs to be serviced....am fed up..pls anyone with a competent mechanic/rewire for nissan dat can fix all the electrical issues and injector issues...pls drop ur contact here..
Suffice to say your ignorance is what has kept the car in its present state. How can you take a modern nissan car to rewire or mechanic without even scanning? and you are here complaining, did u bother asking your friend why he sold the car? or did he sold it to you from the scrap yard.

You have simply abused the car and you are getting what you garbaged in,Look for Nissparts as quick as possible before u further mess the car up.
