iamoyindamola: You know in this kind of gathering you will always have a lunatic his records are all over the thread I am just surprised jode.ra is trying to call him to order because you can't tame a madman One way or the other he will surely enter market
Lol, I think you're mistaken Spy for someone. Spy hardly insults, at least this is someone I know I have argued countless times with on this thread and we never trade insult.
I admit, his initial post was aggressive but it wasn't insultive to anyone. I believe what triggered it was Bluer.aydick's response and maybe having a rough day cos normally Spy deh ignore that kinda things or he'll just take it light-heartedly. For him to come out all guns blazing with insults is unusual.
Shegzdave: That guy needs to be calm when airing his opinion, cause all parties involved before his arrival avoid using foul language despite how heated the argument was.
Moreover, our thread is not known for using cuss words when airing opinion, like come on, we’re Arsenal; cool fanbase.
At the end of the day, We all want the best for the Club.
Lol, e be like say Spy was having a rough day that day (probably) and he just needed to vent out.
Na when dem go draw another big team tomorrow, he'll start telling us of how Mount and Havertz were holding this team back and how Palmer is the Alpha and Omega
Team never even enter single digit position for league you go just deh hype them like say dem win treble
Shegzdave: You see the bolded is the most important cause I don’t want him just waste the Prime years of Saka, Martinelli, Rice, Saliba and Ordegarrd. Those boys are too good for those community and FA cup
Roland17: Tomorrow now, the argument for him will be a lack of squad depth, instead of his failure to properly manage and rotate his squad.
Using Ramsdale as a fall back without games is not the proper way to manage or rotate your squad because you will have a highly disillusioned Ramsdale and even if he puts a good performance he will be unhappy.
Lol... I don comot mind for this Arteta and Squad depth/rotation matter.
After what happened last season, I believe he's more experienced now. If him tow same path as last season, me I know I won't defend him again.
If he keeps on managing player poorly, naim sabi. My own is that let him do what he needs to do and bring the coveted trophies
Spy360: Raya is only No1 because he is better with foot work. If Ramsdale improves with his composure playing with defenders he will be a better goalie.
We all know this
But certainly, we all know Arteta has his bias and presently it tilts towards Raya. Forget all those lamba about debating for number 1 shirt.
If Arteta doesn't easily rotates his outfield players which is logical, is it the GK department you'll now expect him to rotate or allow competition?
Roland17: Yup. Force Arteta to debate number 1 going into Lens/ Wolves
While I wish for that to happen but I'm afraid that forced debate won't happen.
As it is, Arteta have made Raya his number one and we all know how stubborn Arteta is with his decision.
The reason why I'm hoping for Ramsdale to put in a commanding and good show is because let it be that Arteta have someone good to fall back on Incase Raya starts misbehaving or sort.
But for the number one debate, I'm over certain it's Raya.
Roland17: It's his chance, irrespective of how it comes. He needs a dominant and controlled performance, that is all he can do to make a case for himself.
Yeah, he needs to make a case for himself.
At least to keep himself at the back of Arteta's mind
Eguavon was simply the provisional gaffer until Rohr’s successor, Peseiro, was appointed. The former was NEVER the replacement.
How you fail to understand this is quite shocking.
Lol... Shocking ke??
Make I hear say Tim.bros no know say Interim no mean replacement.
Him don already vow say Airm.ark and Popi no go carry am trabaye for this argument so even if it means him to re-write English textbook to die on that hill, he will.
timbros: I no go school o, but is this not the definition of replace?
If you replace one thing or person with another, you put something or someone else in their place to do their job
Was Ljunberg not put in Emery's position, to do his job? Isn't that replacement?
Na wao.... You are not even arguing that Ljunberg replace Emery for the mean time, till a permanent replacement is found. That would be another thing entirely. Telling me that Ljunberg did not replace anybody is you being economical with the truth.
Actually, the answer is a resounding Nooo @bolded!!
Ljunberg was just meant to fill in while we went about looking for someone to actually do the job Emery was expected to do(since arsenal can't be a club who would be without a coach).
While I get your point on "replacement" but we're dealing with English here and English is mostly about context. Ljunberg as an interim never had the full responsibility, accountability nor authority Emery had, so how do you expect him to be expected to do Emery's Job? Everyone knows that, as an interim, your responsibility is "loose"
There's a reason everybody knows that Arteta took over/replaced Emery and never Ljunberg.(including you). All newsite, blogs and all says Arteta replaced Emery. If Ljunberg replaced Emery, why haven't any site said that Arteta replaced Ljunberg?
....Like a servant waiting for his master's son to take over his Master's properties. Everyone knows it'll be wrong to call the servant "master" just because he's overseeing the preparation of the master's son's coming.
Spy360: The reason I made the comparison is just to let us see that tactical changes in modern times and changed the traditional roles of players. So that when you see a player performing below general opinion but well in line with the coaches opinion we don't argue.
The work of strikers is to score goals. The work of inverted wingers is also to score goals.
Having inverted wingers is a modification of the traditional 4-4-2 but the strikers (or goal threat) are placed away from the central defenders.
The same way a false 9 is actually an AM that stays away from the opponent's DMs. You know that he is an AM only when he drops deep to transition the ball.
Responding to your previous post, Messi have played both as an inverted winger, a false 9 and even as a traditional AM. Same with Trossard.
As for the bolded, any player who is positioned in the opponent's final third is considered an attacker. This includes midfielders, wingers, and strikers. In some parlance they are called forwards.
I agree with all of these you said.
As for the bolded, that has always been my point. I was just against you saying Inverted wingers are strikers, inverted FB are Midfielders and so on and so forth
timbros: If you were asked to list former Arsenal coaches since Wenger, will Ljunberg be there or not?
I don't know why you guys are twisting simple direct thing. Interim or not, he was a coach at a point in Arsenal's history. And he replaced someone. What is so hard to understand there?
The thing is that as an interim, you won't be held accountable for anything. It's just the same way nobody hails/criticize Ljunberg for anything.
All the things Arteta is doing is being measured in line with what Emery did.
Nobody will hold Eguavoen or Ljunberg accountable for anything reason why they weren't sacked. And there's also a reason in different news outlets you'll see Arteta replaced Emery and never Ljunberg
Lol, I get say you no wan gree for this matter but an interim mostly isn't regarded as someone permanent or sign contract. (And that's why Interims don't get sacked)
Arteta for example is seen to replace Emery but we all know he didn't come after Emery. Actually, Ljunberg took over the team until Arteta was confirmed coach.
That doesn't mean interim coaches can't win anything but they're not meant to replace anybody.
You better go to Barcelona and under bridge! We no send you and your wailing.
Rubbish!
Mtcheww!!!! I hate it when someone dey use him two eyes make decision without any that pleases him without any force or persuasion even when people were begging him not to, only to turn around and said he wished he didn't do what he initially did.
If it had turned out right the way he envisaged, we for no dey hear this talk. You'll never hear this Kain talk from Nasri because he knew he truly enjoyed his time at Man city
Spy360: A striker drafted to either wing. They have to cut in to score so they choose a wing that is opposite to their dominant foot.
A purpose of using inverted wingers is to create clearer scoring opportunities by stretching the opposing defense and making more space available.
Many modern coaches may include a big centre forward, or a false striker in-between them depending on their tactical approach.
Example, Liverpool had Mane and Salah with a false striker in Firmino which worked to a devastating effect.
Apologize for my late response.
The word 'inverted' is just the use of wingers (or Midfielders and rarely strikers) to make closer to the goalposts for more goalscoring opportunities. Wingers those days are mostly known for assists and crosses (that's why you see Right footed players playing the RHS of the wing and the left footed players playing the LHS of the wing). This is to give them that comfortability to always cross the ball the the two strikers Always situated in the box. Those days, Saka would play at the LHS while Martinelli would play on the RHS.
But now, due to tactical switch, it has changed and we can see where Saka and Martinelli are playing now. Nobody would call them STRIKERS, as you falsely alluded.
Same for False 9. The introduction of false 9 is to create fluidity in the final 3rd and involvement in midfield play in order to maintain possession (by having that extra outlet in midfield). It doesn't necessarily have to be a Midfielder. (Trossard and Messi were never Midfielders even though I admit Firmino was).
So you saying, wingers are strikers, false 9 is a Midfielder and Inverted FB are Midfielders are all wrong.
We all know sef that most wingers presently nowadays aren't strikers.
hensben: Have you seen anyone that don’t rate Casemiro because his impact was felt unlike Bousquet. Bousquet and Valdez were carry along in all those success Messi led Barca achieved. No one rate Valdez same should be for Bousquet, both were inconsequential in those success
Shhhh abeg!!!
Even the Rodri you rate always have to play CB whenever Busquet plays in Spain. That was how Spain's coach was thinking like you during last euros and Spain was underwhelming until Busquet was reinstated in that role.
He was inconsequential to Barca's success, yet he was one of the first names during Barca golden era. You think say e easy?
Parizz: This season premier league is btw mancity and Liverpool. Jod.era, if I hear your mouth for arsenal, I will arrest you and lock you up for life.
mostob: Following his assist against Burnley yesterday, Bukayo Saka is now the only Arsenal player in Premier League history to score or assist against every side he’s faced in the competition.
The 22-year-old has faced 24 different teams in the Premier League and recorded a goal contribution against every single one.
