And that's what these awards are based on.
How many goals did he score in 95/96 that made him break any threshold but 95/96 he didn't win any Balon dor na. Was that the year you said he won Europa? |

odizeey: Hehehe. You dey see as your bias dey expose you now?
28 goals and 10 assists that season.
You said someone that won Uefa cup win is nothing but I showed you someone with a Uefa cup that won those awards twice.
Okay, let's say 1996 was the Olympics and that was why R9 won it. 2010 was a World Cup year and Forlan was the best player and highest goal-scorer in the World Cup it's now I even remember sef Balon dor that year is just like uefa best this time. Any good player can win it but World best then is the Koko. It's the reason someone like Owen, nedved, shevchenko and co won while big guns like Zizzou and Dinho were winning world best. It's just like how Jorginho won uefa best in 2020. 2010 is where everything changed and that's where the overall world best was Balon dor. It'll be difficult for Forlan to enter top 3. Maybe if it was 2006 he did that exploits, he would have been crowned a Balon dor winner or a top 3 |

mostob: On this Jorginho matter, I already expected all these. One reason why I was against his signing then was because he was never a DM. At Chelsea, he had Kanye mopping up his lapses but Arteta is trying to play him as a lone DM here. It is never going to work. One thing is that even that last season, Jorginho tried. Jorginho started against Chelsea, Man city (first leg), Aston Villa, Newcastle and they was very few or no complaints from guys here. I remember when Blueray (I think) said we need Jorginho this season for squad depth and that he couldn't imagine himself saying so before It's the reason why I said you were too harsh on Arteta when he started against Chelsea this season cos same Jorginho have started for us in big matches and they were few complaints those times. At least, let Havertz shine him own small. Jorginho came under same scrutiny as Havertz came |

mostob: Why bringing Havertz into this again? I mentioned Nelson too in my post just in case you forgot. I'm not disputing the fact that Havertz has not really been impressive. My point is what exactly are the other bench players playing?
The ESR you're referring to here is the one we all watched two seasons ago. Someone who benched Martinelli FFS. If his performance last weekend was impressive to you, then you're just being bias. Fact is none of them turned up...Nelson o, ESR, Havertz, Jorginho, Kiwior but na only Havertz we dey talk here.
As for the bolded, the backlash has a lot to do with what the media is feeding us and his Chelsea reputation. That's not to say he is not without one or two stinkers since he arrived here though. Lol... I notice recently like jumping into different things Tbh. You talked about ESR and how he underwhelmed during the weekend save for his "six yard pass assist" as you put it, yet he's not receiving Backlash. That was exactly what I laughed at cos it's very funny and not true. Nothing concern me concern Nelson cos I didn't even watch ystdy match to have a strong opinion on anything. Heck ESR didn't even play ystdy My matter was that weekend match you felt Esr didn't do anything yet didn't receive backlash compared to Havertz. And yes, we'll always talk about Havertz because he's the one given unmerited favour esp as a starter. If Jorginho, Nelson, kiwi are mostly starters, we'll come for them too. It's a normal stuff. By the way, Kiwi and ESR played good game during the weekend |

mostob: Speak up. Bring his stat or whatever. The reason he is not getting any backlash is because he is our favorite here and because of his past exploits. I don't need to bring stats or whatever on ball wey we both watch not too long ago. Even all rating sites gave ESR a very high rating(different sites o) and Havertz was the poorest in all the whole site amongst our first 11. I guess they're all so bias against Havertz and love Smith Rowe(and others too) Moreover, I dunno which backlash you want us to give ESR when he hardly plays any match. Match he started, played well and gave assist is whom you want us to give backlash to? Na wa ooo You sef know say everybody dey receive backlash for here if you no perform whether you be favourite or not.(Martinelli, Saka are even examples) If Havertz is receiving Backlash consistently, then it just means he's not doing something right. Let him do something right and let it be obvious, even his strongest critics will surely acknowledge him.. If you are in doubt just look at Sod with Rice |

Things have really changed from that Wenger era o. If Wenger fields those premature academy players now, he will get trashed by Brentford, West Ham, Newcastle , etc of this world by the quarter final stage latest. Fair point. Reason why our 2nd 11 no be am at all. As a big team, our 2nd 11 suppose go toe to toe with that West ham team they paraded ystdy. Flogging us 3-0 no suppose be so. Spy360: To be fair, most teams then aren't as competitive as they are now. Plus no one then took the cup seriously until Mourinho joined Chelsea, then Pep.
For example, West Ham played their PL team apart from Antonio. That means they are pushing to win it. Naahhh, small teams took it seriously then (tho not as much as their EPL). They normally do a mix of first and second 11 while most big teams do a mix of 2nd 11 and academy players. Even when Mou came, he still didn't stop most big teams from using academy in EFL. If you remember, under Emery and Wenger we were still using Academy boys |

Spy360: Pep has always kept the fewest number of players in his first team. Usually about 20players when others have up to 30. This has always been his way. There's no need to argue except we list their players last season.
As for bench players, if you agree that Tomi and Trossard are not bench players, then same should apply to Havertz because they have played similar no of games and in fact Havertz has started more games than the others. I'm not talking about quantity in Guardiola's squad, I'm talking about his rotation. Yes, he uses them but nobody is a guaranteed starter save for very few, so we can't actually pinpoint his first 11. For arsenal, it's a certain. In fact, most of us here have wailed about Arteta not rotating even when it's obvious that the starting players needs a breather. If we can be complaining for these players all the way here in Nigeria mostly, how then do you think these players won't see themselves as bench players? Trossard is a bench player, I like him and I want him to start but presently he's a bench player. Havertz was initially a starter but due to his underwhelming performances, he lost his spot (which is normal for any competitive team). The only person presently I won't see as bench player recently(this season)is Tomi and that's because he starts matches or substitute Zinny halfway (sometimes half time) even when Zinny is fit. You can't be seeing 15min and 20min of football in a match of averagely 93 mins(inclusive of added time) when everyone is fit and you'll be claiming that you're not a bench player. Where that one dey happen? |

2010 began the year of Ballondor robbery Europa?? Are you kidding me Europa presently even has more levels than before and even presently, nobody takes it seriously for Balon dor criteria. Who takes Europa seriously then when it's like carabao cup of now(where big teams use their 2nd eleven and fringe players to play it)? Y'all points would have been valid if iniesta or Xavi won the golden ball. So what did Ronaldo achieve in 2013 that made him won the balon dor both club wise and country wise? |

Spy360: All you stated here are wrong.
Nketiah was a starter early this season even when Jesus was fit. While some of us here have called for Trossard to start games. Or is it Tomiyasu? So we should not be comparing them with the likes of Nelson and Kiwior who hardly start even Carabao cup.
And as per Pep, everyone knows that he hardly changes his first eleven even in less important competitions. If there's anyone that sticks to his team it's Pep. In fact he has the leanest first team among the top clubs. Lol, it's only this season pep have a lean and less quality squad compared to previous seasons. Every other seasons, Pep is the master of changing players and formations. Nobody is certain of First starting except if you are kompany, Fernandinho(now Rodri),Kdb and recently Haaland. If you're playing FPL, I don't think you'd say that bolded with a full chest As for Arsenal, everyone know G.J was out injured and the first match he was fit was against Man u. That itself negated anything you say about Jesus being a starter when G.j was fit Some of us wants Trossard to start games, that doesn't mean he isn't a bench player. Some of us also wants ESR to start games over Havertz and Viera but does that mean he isn't a bench player presently? The only person that fits into your bill is Tomi and that's even recently. As at last season, everyone knows our starters and the bench players. Liverpool have starters and bench players, Man u same team, Tottenham same thing. And that's what bring consistency The only two big clubs not have regular starting 11 is Chelsea (due to their transition state) and Guardiola's Man City prior to this season |

Jodera: That's because it's your personal bias.
There's nothing presently that Havertz is doing that wasn't minimum for most of our players from last season and two seasons ago. Absolute Nothing!!
Last season, I always commend Odegaard in his interpretation of half space, dummy pass and his winning of balls (he has the highest win rate of balls in the opposition half amongst all Midfielders in EPL , you can check it out). No day have you ever ever hyped his off the ball abilities here. In fact, first match of last season against crystal palace (where he was adjudged to play badly), he had the highest tackle and ball recovery in the match. You didn't come to his defence that day for his off the ball activities. The less said about Xhaka off the ball, the better for my epistles.
Suddenly, Messiah Havertz is now the best in left 8 for us for doing the barest minimum modern football requires (off the ball) and you're singing it like one big Achievement.

Spy360: A playing that sees regular game time (like at least starting or coming as a sub in each game) cannot classified as bench player. Players like Trossard, Nketiah, and Tomiyasu. Will you categorise them as bench players? Compared to the likes of Nelson, Vieira, and Kiwior? So what are they classified as?(especially since we're dealing with Arteta here) The only reason Trossard and Nketiah are seeing more minutes than usual compared to Viera and Kiwior is because of injuries to the first team players. It's only Guardiola that's the only top coach that his team don't have a first 11 save for few |
