The way Ronaldo's PR fans will tell you that it's because of Ronaldo Portugal won their Euros, you'd think he played a large chunk of mins in that final. They've forgotten that Ronaldo played a freaking 25min of 120mins.

But yeah... It was Ronaldo's presence that made Portugal win their first euros.!! grin

He should be thanking Eder everyday of his life.
Some people are like that. They will come, give you that relevance and go back to where they came from.

Nobody knew Eder before and after that final grin

Pre World cup win when Ronaldo's Portugal wins an intl trophy

"Messi is not a mentality monster, he always misses PK when the pressure Is on"

Messi finally wins World cup while scoring penalties

"FIFA is rigged, they want Messi to win World cup. See how their dashing Messi penalty "

Same people hyping Mbappe for scoring 2 penalty kicks in final

"Mbappe is the best, nobody have scored hat trick in finals" — you'd think the Hattrick wasn't padded with two penalties

It's funny how only Messi Is judged differently with Penalties grin

Everyone knows Messi is always favored for these awards. Sneinder, Xavi were more deserving of the award in the past and it went to Messi.

Mbappe was the standout player in PSG last season, not Messi. He was also the standout player at the world cup for France, scoring a hatrick in the final.

What Messi did in the last world cup for Argentina is the same thing as what Jorginho did in the last Euros for Italy. The only difference is that Jorginho didn't get a penalty in every knockout game.

It wasn't special then and it isn't special now. But scoring a hatrick in the world cup final? Now that's special.
You sef calm down with that bolded na. If na Trevor talk that thing I for understand not you biko.

So someone who is the 2nd highest goalscorer, highest assist maker and had the highest man of the match Awards in the tourney is the same thing as Jorginho?

When Ronaldo won 2013 balon dor without winning any tangible trophy... All because he scored a Hattrick in a Playoffs, we didn't hear balon dor is rigged, balon dor is fixed.

If someone can win balon dor just for qualifying his country to world cup(which was another competition for best loser than the original one), then why all these tears for someone who won and Dominated the World cup gan gan??

Whao! So great to see you back! Welcome back!

God will perfect your health... Health challenges like this make us pause and reassess life...And we realize how much good health worth more than all of Dangote, Otedola, Adenuga Elumelu and all our top billionaires' wealth combine, and we get to reset our priorities in life right.

Honestly I was worried, too many thoughts on my mind, just kept being positive that you will post soon, and for once I wished we were not that anonymous.

I pray our team is set right to give us victory this weekend to celebrate your return.
Amen ooo. Thanks a lot boss.
Health is really priceless Tbh. Reasons why we should be thankful to God everyday.

Thanks a lot and I'm also glad to be back

A midfield of Partey, Rice and Ode will tilt the balance a bit. Right now, in the absence of Partey, we defend with 5 and attack with 5. With Partey, that means we defend with 6 and attack with 4.

Well...na Arteta get the headache. He is getting paid for decision like this.
On the contrary, I don't think it will @ the bolded

I've always known Rice to be fit for that Xhaka role and against Man city he proved it very well with his transitioning from defence to attack. With the way he plays, he's a big upgrade on Xhaka. The Man city game is his best game in an arsenal shirt so far(even more than against Man u). Imagine covering for Jorginho and still doing the attacking work both at 100%. Then imagine using Partey instead of Jorginho. Omorrrr!!!!

While he's a very good DM (I love him in that position) but I think where he'll excel well is the Xhaka role. He's press resistant, he can drive the ball forward, he can give forward pass and he can dribble. Long and short pass, he get am and the best of all is that he can find space in and around the 18 yard box.

He could have gotten at least two goals against Man city if only G. Jesus decided to play a cut back instead of over dribbling

I don too miss our matches so I no know how to grade Havertz for that our Midfield so far(whether he's acclimatized to the role).

The Man city match I later watched, he didn't start but he did well with that assist when he came on.

I just feel Partey, Rice and Odegaard should be our Midfield trio. Except maybe Havertz don improve grin

Good day everyone.
Thanks, thanks so much for your concern about my absence and wellbeing. To say I'm truly overwhelmed and grateful is me not doing justice to it enough. I'm truly blown away by all your gestures. God bless you all.

Actually, I'm was preparing for a promotional exam(that was early last month) so I decided to take a little time off then I'll be back but unfortunately I fell seriously ill soon after. It was severe that I had to be admitted for weeks in the hospital reason I had this prolonged absence. I thank God for life and recovery (just got discharged last week Wednesday).

I know say I missed a lot of things sha(first two UCL matches, Havertz first goal, NLD derby and Man city win). Though I was grateful to watch the full replay of our win against Man city and I enjoyed every bit of it.

Good to be back here once again and I'm really thankful to you all (I can't emphasize this enough)

Hopefully, we'll win against our London neighbors this weekend. E be like say dem don dey catch their groove back grin

You noticed the corner routines too? Wow.... I think the recent absence of Gabi is why we have not looked dangerous during CKs so far this season. Moreso, the kickers need to up their kicks too. Another aspect I want us to work on is the outside shots especially curlers. Martinelli is the main culprit here... While Saka has been effective, Martinelli has been poor.
I think the reasons why we adopted that Corner routine was due to the tall aerial-good guys we have and we were looking to harness. Aside Gabriel, we have Saliba, Partey, Rice, White and Havertz.
The guys are tall and good aerially but for some reasons we just couldn't win those corners. I just hope the these players get this tactics right cos it seems like a good tactics.

That outside curler shot/Shots is really what I want this team to improve on especially our front three. Saka seems to be the only one effective on it. If Martinelli and Jesus/Nketiah can add that to their arsenal, we'll be more deadly than last season

Lemme talk about our Corner kicks I've observed so far.

Last season and the season before that, our corner have been very effective and dangerous(we've been using inswinging crosses using Inverted crossers) but this season it's been entirely different.

I noticed that we've changed pattern this season. We're more playing it at the near post and hoping that our players slug it out with our opponents in the near post which is the dangerous zone hoping that if we win the ball it'll have a high chance of ending at the back of the net (hypothetically 90% of the time).

While I understand the logic but it's certainly not working at all. We had 25+ corners across the four matches and if I'm not mistaken, it took us until the last match(against Man u) before we could win our first ball header through a cross.

Simply put, all the crosses have failed to beat the first man(or opposition players) probably because our players are too slow or not positioned in strategic place to win the first ball headers. Also, most of the crosses have been poor as it isn't accurately delivered height-wise.
We had to change back to our default corner tactics before we could start winning headers and consequently got the second goal through Declan Rice.

While I understand we need to get different tactics with corners, I feel we shouldn't do away with what was seriously working for us so far.

Sometimes mixing the two won't be bad, but my opinion should be that this new corner tactics should be our Option B and not A

While everyone (including me) hopes for Havertz to shine but it shouldn't be at the detriment of the team and that's all we ask.

If he shines, we'll start to sing his praises(ask Viera and Nketiah).

But until then, it's annoying to see him drop stinkers upon stinkers. Not when we've grown into a title-challenging team. We don't have that luxury again
