Hoping that Havertz impresses in midfield again.

Lol, no matter how, Big team is big team.

The mentality that Man u will take to face Burnley and Sheffield is very very different from the one to they'll use to face Man city.

The scoreline is too underrating for Man u (who are at home fa). It's not as if Man city is blowing everybody away sef

We definitely have totally different perceptions about his first season. To me, the results were good at a point in the season and that was it. The football wasn't good. It then became absolutely atrocious later on.

All of this doesn't matter Sha. Point is he failed when he got a job similar to United's. That's with all the European trophies and all. The one without any of these okirika honors turned it around. And it took a lot of time, effort and patience to turn it around.
Presently not good when compared to this Arteta's own especially last season but that football was better than Wenger's last season with us.

I don't know your standard of "good" sha but during his first season we hardly got outplayed and we still won matches convincingly. To me, that's good Football.

The thing is that the one without any "okrika" honours did worse football and even worse results than Emery before turning it around.
And yeah, it took time, trust, patience and effort (and even tears) to turn it around.

Emery didn't have those. In fact on a logical scale (especially with both pedigrees), Emery was supposed to be given those privileges, Not Arteta.

But then, it is what it is and arsenal decision makers are proven right afterall.
European Football (EPL, UEFA, La Liga) › Re: Official Manchester United Fan Thread:''20 Times EPL Champion by Jodera: 10:27pm On Oct 27, 2023
And Christobam, the last gasp wins we had under Emery was in his second season.

I remember arguing with Spy (in our thread) that this thing will haunt us cos we can't just be playing nonsense and be fluking a win, but Spy says that's the stuff of champions— to grind out win even when playing badly. Well it didn't last long and it started haunting us. That's when the word "grinding machine" became popular in our thread.

We never really grind out win in his first season. In fact, he had a good pattern of play in his first season. It was just unfortunate his second season turned out wrong.

You feel that way about Arteta because he was trying to do things that wasn't working well with the players he had at his disposal. I remember telling my friend then that you'd get disgraced by a team that presses really effectively cuz you were trying to pass out of the back then. And you were so terrible at it. It didn't look so good then but the intention was obvious.

Emery I remember played terrible football. Y'all were just blinded by the initial results then. He had an unbeaten run we were calling okirika unbeaten then. So many last grasp wins. But you all thought you were building something so it passed as manageable.

The summer after he got and built all the nonsense he wanted to, we all saw what unfolded.
Lol... In the first season Emery played a lot of good football forget results.
From Fulham 5-2 win to Everton 2-0 win, to Leicester 3-1 win(this was even the best to me with Ozil masterclass) to Liverpool 1-1 draw. Even our 2-0 win against Chelsea

We would have made top 4 that season for sure but he prioritized Europa and because of that we started losing against team we weren't suppose to lose only to flounder in the final.

Emery's football in the second season was not it and it was obvious most of the players wanted him sacked. Moreover, he wasn't losing on an extended run as you opined.

Remember when Arteta took over, we were 8th. He wasn't just winning games but we weren't losing games that frequently.
As for Arteta's own, I remember we winning just once a month for like 3 months if I'm not mistaken.
There was a time all these stats showed Emery's results leading to his sack and Arteta's own and omorr, Arteta's own was worse and it wasn't even close.

Arteta's own was horrible. Very horrible to watch. If Emery own was, I would have said so.

Emery at Arsenal.

Your opinion?
Nah, Emery tried at Arsenal. The failure of us not making top 4 was due to us focusing on Europa and it backfired as we lost both spectacularly

His second season was in shambles (half season) but Arteta played the most annoying and unentertaining football especially his first full season

Yeah... He did. He actually pointed at the zone where he wanted Saka to play it.

That's why it's really very important to have high IQ players. Just those two singular decision perfected by both of them actually earned us that draw.

Jode.ra go apologize to Raya
You see the way Sod humbly apologized to Rice?
No force/persuasion from anyone, No receipts to take drag am say him must apologize, no epistles on the reason why he needed to apologize by any of us just because of only one match

Do you know why? Because what Rice did and Is doing is very glaring to see even to the blind and people wey no sabi watch ball. And he's doing it CONSISTENTLY

When Havertz do him own consistently, you go see litany of apologies. Even me sef, I dey pray everyday for him to make me apologize one day grin

I used to be scared whenever Ramsdale has the ball on his feet and need to pass from the back, but lately Raya have been giving me more goosebumps. Maybe because he's statically better on feet than Ramsdale, Teta is demanding him to hold on and come out more before passing, but so far it have not been working for him. I noticed that Ramsdale never went out as far as Raya does when with the ball, so I think Raya is trying to play according to instructions but too bad that it is not working perfectly for us.
Saka wasn't match fit but the pressure to play his best attacker no gree Teta reason well(tho Saka did justified his selection with a beautiful assist), Nelli and Saka was specially marked out and odegaard went MIA, our midfield was not coordinated and it affected our creativity.
Personally I take the draw as positive cus we could have gone home with zero points.

Teta needs to calm down and analyse the matches between Lens and Chelsea, to know where he got it all wrong. He don improved greatly in his in-game tactical approach, but I believe he should try to find a new way of going pass teams that mark out our wide men.
True, talk.

1. He needs to improve our over reliance on wingers cos most times Saka and Martinelli are marked out, it seems our play would just end.

2. Also, the Chelsea game just proved that we needed Saka deputy. Imagine Saka being rushed back and was underwhelming yet he still played because nobody have quality like him. We thank God his quality shone through but how many times will he bail us like that.

3. For Raya, I think I've said enough about him already. I just hope he goes back to that level we expect from him quickly. This is a settled team, I expected him to blend in quickly cos it's said that it's easier for a GK to settle quickly into a team than outfield players.

Hopefully, we bounce back against Sevilla and Sheffield.

1. I already gave you reasons for my rating. No need explaining further.

2. Martinelli and Saka are attackers not CF. You classified Havertz who moved to CF in a tactical switch as a CF which he is not but you couldn't said the same with Tomiyasu. You can see you're been partial here. You said he only impressed as a CF. What I'm correcting is that in some of the matches where you said he impressed as a CF, he actually started/played in Midfield.
Na so... undecided

YouTube? Statistically, it has been proven that Raya has the better accuracy. This is even not debatable.

Maybe you're referring to short or low passes. None of the players you mentioned bar Jesus can confidently contest aerially for long balls and still retain possession. Even, Jesus struggles against tall and physical defenders.

I don't really think you watched our recent matches TBH. Because debating on Raya's passes is actually weird. I mentioned Saka too BTW. And my examples are as far as the last match is concerned.
Lol, you were the one that quoted me on this Raya issue not the other way round.

When I talk about Raya, I didn't use the last match to criticize him, I use the cumulation of our 3 big matches (Tottenham, Man City and Chelsea) and I shared my concerns. Even all my argument with you about him, I didn't specifically use Chelsea because I feel using one match to judge a keeper is not fair.

Like I said statistically, I agree that Raya was the better GK than Ramsdale and that's the main reason why I'm highly disappointed seeing what he's serving us. This is just like us having Saka and we are all happy about Saka, then Arteta goes on to buy prime Salah saying he needs him to compete with Saka. Obviously prime Salah have more stats than Saka and the expectations from him will be more(knowing his reputation). If Salah starts dropping underwhelming performances here, you think we will criticize him less? You think he was brought in not to bring in premium levels to what Saka obviously offers?

And that is my point.

Also when I mean long balls, it doesn't have to necessarily be height, sometimes even weighted low speed passes deep into the Midfield can be classified as long balls (as long it travels a long distance) and that's how Ramsdale was giving passes to our attackers.

I expected Raya to offer something much more than what I'm seeing from Ramsdale and so far I'm not seeing it. If you're seeing it, then Good for you!! grin

Na my heart wey dey beat whenever Raya hold ball I and some of us here dey voice out. His long balls sef is not that effective ( I don't buy that excuse of our players miscontrolling balls knowing how good all our players are in controlling balls)

1. There are standards set by Arteta that making such silly mistakes are unacceptable. Moreso, it is my rating. I believe everybody has their own opinion on that.

2. When we were discussing, you clearly used 'CF' for Havertz but used 'attacker' for Tomi. How? You are now sure Tomi moving up top was a tactical switch yet doesn't want to believe same when it comes to Havertz. You can now see the inconsistencies. You have still not answered my questions which is my major point specifically.
1. You're carrying this thing personal and e no suppose to be so.
Saying Arteta got 0/10 in both selection and substitutions means there's absolute nothing he did right or what he did right is not even negligible. If that rating isn't harsh on Arteta then I don't know what is with obvious reasons. I never for once doubted it's your opinion bro, I only said it was very very harsh.

2. Lol, you don't know the difference between an attacker and a CF again? grin
I never claimed Havertz playing CF wasn't tactical, I only said the ONLY TIME HE IMPRESSES IS WHEN HE PLAYS AS A CF.
The crystal palace game where Havertz played Cf was a tactical switch cos that's not where he started but like I said he only impressed in that game because he moved to the CF position.
It's that simple as that.

I still dey wait for am to impress in that Midfield position.
