oliverano: I wouldn't call him the finished article just yet because of his huge potential. I think the reason why most Chelsea fans do not want Alverez is because of his height(5ft7) and coupled with the fact he's not bulky like Tevez, Aguero and co. If Alvarez had Guui's body, with what he's done so far in football, Chelsea fans will be all over him.
However, the truth of the matter is that no current striker at Chelsea is better than Alvarez in anything, not even close! I believed when they mean finished article is someone who will enter straight into the team as a starter and who can elevate their striking option that what is initially was. Alvarez is that type of person and he's still young with experience so he can definitely be improved on. Buying all these Guiu, Omorodion and co na another risk taking when compared to Alvarez |

The guy na ashira (mis-buy) Lol... True. So true. But personally Sha, I don't grade such a player as entirely useless cos Arsenal knew the risk involved and still went to buy him for a high fee. He has no reputation and was just one season wonder. That's why sha, I no too grade players on transfer fees. If to say na prime Neymar or Salah or even Zaha (that we were initially linked to) we bought we that money and he flopped like Pepe, I would have grade him as a useless signing cos I would have expected more. Personally, I see Willian signing as a more useless signing than Pepe but I understand your point fully |

lordfalcao: but what makes Alvarez the finished article? Ibime: Good question Someone who's a starter in Argentina world and Copa winning cups is not the "finished" article? And he's also 2nd to Haaland in a very top club too I think what they mean by finished article is someone who can enter your first eleven unlike all these wannabes children. |

Shegzdave: Player’s performance is usually judged alongside their price tag, the guy didn’t justify his price tag with his performance.
Now list other players alongside their price tag and let’s compare with Peperenpe Lol, in that case you're right even if I won't blame him for his performance wrt his price tag cos he wasn't even a household name when we bought him |

johnjunior39: He was not bad, his price tag was. Havertz could have been another Pepe but Arteta effect. That was what Pepe lacked and he wasnt looking like who want to calm and learn. Yeah, his price tag was his big undoing cos normally his performance was bad but personally sha, he can't be one of the worst. |

daveP: Next season sef, i want to see threat from left than Right. Let defenders get so conscious of it that they'll stop doubling up on Saka. They'll still double up on him even if threats is on from left than Right side. I remember when our strength was on the left wing (2022/23) when we first finished 2nd, that didn't still stop opponents from doubling on Saka. The good thing is that if it's from all sides (Left, right and Center), opponents will be pinned back and they won't know who to hold |

daveP: personally, and most especially if a striker arrives, with or without injury, both Martinelli and Saka, the least expected PL goals should be 16. And if on G/A basis, 30G/A. As you said, no excuses for Nelli henceforth. His LHS is now rejuvenated. True... I just want our both sides of attack to be strong cos we really depended on the Rhs last season. If both can give 30g/a personally and if the probable striker or Havertz can really give us that high number (which I hope he does if we don't get), then we can go all the way. Links to Gyokeres is getting strong sha. Make we deh see. |

mostob: Yea.. another thing is he might sign a wide forward instead if he can't find any striker. The Raphina rumour is rising again. Barcelona has financial issues and with Yamal in the team, they might be forced to sell. That's the conspiracy going about. Lol, not so bad if it's true sha. But what do you think about the signing? Sometimes I do peruse Barca thread and I see them complaining about how he can't beat player one on one or how is play is subpar. I believe you do watch Barca match sometimes, what do you think? |

mostob: I think the fact that our left hand side was not stable throughout last season affected Martinelli. Now that we have Calafiori and Merino(probably) , Martinelli should be able to cook. Yeah, it's that stability I was also looking at as well as their attacking inputs. With those two at his back I believe he'll cook |

Calafiori who can push attack, Merino/Rice (depending on who plays , who can push attack too. Hopefully, last season Martinelli is just a blip |

mostob: Arteta doesn't like an overbloated squad. He has often emphasize this. I don't see him signing another DM until Partey leaves. If Partey stays, he might just back up Rice with Merino as 8. Make Partey sef try and stay fit. He is one of the best lone DMs out there. True, the key is to try and make Partey fit and available at least throughout this season. Hopefully, if we get Merino, we can limit game time of Partey in order to maximize him |

The next on the list will be a striker. That one go hard sha.
On this Saka's deputy talk, anybody who pay attention to Arteta will always know his intention. Towards last season, do you think Arteta just played Martinelli on RW for the fun of it? Nah.
From my POV, Jesus will play more as a winger this season. Havertz and a new striker will probably rotate. Let's Sha don't try to do nonsense the way we did last season with Partey at Rb. Any of Jesus or Martinelli, I can manage even though I deeply wanted a good left footed player. I just don't want to see Viera there biko |
