Yeah, but if you noticed, he was forced to use White as Inverted cos Kiwior wasn't good at it(after trying Kiwi countless times) hence Rb inverted was just like a plan B. Immediately Tomi was fit and displaced Kiwi, It was back to normal Lb Inverted. I think that's the main reason Calafiori was targeted cos he just prefers that left side.

Make we move Zinny go no 8, he is the most creative in the squad next only to Odegaard...Rice always struggled in no 8 especially against low block.

Before, I was thinking same thing but I've come to the realization that Zinny won't play midfield and that's because of his height.

If you look at all the players that Arteta was linked to with the left 8, they all had height and were good aerially (probably to win headers when opponents clear the ball due to our press). Also, when defending in some situations, they can easily form a double 6 with their Dm. From Xhaka, to Havertz, to Rice and now we're being linked with Merino. All of them are very good and dominant aerially and can easily form a double 6 when the need arises. I doubt Zinny would fit into that.

Also, I don't think Rice struggled in that 8 position against low block, on the contrary, he excelled when deployed there against low blocks cos that's where we had all our 5-0 wins and was emptying stadiums in 2024.

It's one of the reasons I don't want us to get Merino but go for a proper Dm cos I want us to fully maximize Rice

Plus we're looking to sell Esr, Nketiah and Nelson. These 3 sales will bring us the funds to get our desired striker and probably one midfielder. I heard we're looking at Merino and Gyokeres.


So until outgoings is secured, hardly any incomings. Good news is that they're good offers for those 3 so fingers crossed.

Calafiori deal done and dusted. Just medicals remains which he's to do in USA then he'll join up with the squad.

Intensively watched his clips and I can see that he's really Arteta kind of player— like the perfect kind. I just hope in transcends the expectations into reality.

And if he really does, then our defence will become more tighter and creative than it's actually is.

First time Arteta pack youngsters for this preseason. If I'm not mistaken, I think this is the preseason we pack many young players and ystdy was like the highest amount of young players he's ever played. Maybe we'll start seeing the integration most of us desire to see.

It seems the club will now focus on selling players before making advances for one or two more signings.

The likes of Nketiah, ESR, Kiwior, Ramsdale and Nelson already have suitors.

While Arteta will try to get a DM and striker or another winger (though I think the Nico Williams rumour is a smokescreen). We may sign Merino and Gyokeres.

Marseille are strongly interested in Nketiah I have read esp since Auba have departed. They've already agreed personal terms with him. I just hope they're very serious with their bid
