He just refused to set up the midfield to be offensive since the departure of Coutinho for reasons best known to him. Creating goals from midfield should not be overlooked, it's an issue Klopp should look at cos there are times when opposition teams prevent us from scoring from the wide areas like in the three finals we played last season and scored 0 goals.

I certainly agree with you. Sometimes I ask myself how Klopp still use the wings in this present day and time to keep on fashioning chances without getting found out.

Keita tho was meant to play that role but to me the guy have really underwhelmed in his time here. Thiago is another guy that makes the team creative but he's too injury prone and he starts from deep. Imagine the kind of impact Thiago brought last season even when playing from deep, it makes me wonder how you guys will be more deadly if there's someone playing like that in more advanced role

Thoughts on the game

1.. We now have a complete striker most of us crave for. Auba was a good goalscorer but is limited most facets of the game like interplay and pressing. Lacazette on the other hand was pressing and have good interplay but really lacks that number 9 presence and isn't a good goalscorer and lacking that good movement with and without the ball. With the presence of Jesus we've someone who's 10x more a pressing monster than Laca would ever dream, have good movement, who's good with and without the ball and also have that presence in number 9, great interplay and is a good goalscorer too, can dribble and create chances for his teammates. What more, he sometimes creates something out of nothing. It's no wonder arsenal attacking threat is a notch higher compared to previous seasons.
If he continues like this, then for the amount he's bought for, it's really a steal considering how this present market operates.


2... Zinchenko na baller. How this guy oozes confidence with class on the ball and his understanding on the game is top notch. The way he plays Midfield (alternating with Xhaka) then plays Lb without breaking a sweat needs to be studied abeg. I love Tierney but mehn, even him go know say him don enter

3.. Credits to Arteta for what he's cooking. The way we start game (esp this season) is excellent. The press, the attack and tactics have all been spot on. I noticed how we tend to manage the game when we were three goals up by just knocking the ball around and not forcing things. This gives the boys ample time to take a breather. The role and responsibilities he gave Zinchenko and Xhaka needs to be commended too.

4... Who noticed Odegaard positioning is somehow different from where he was stationed last season? Odegaard is more inverted inside the Midfield compared to the RCM role he played last season. This I believe is one of the reasons he and Saka didn't have that telepathy we enjoyed last season. Yesterday Saka was left all alone as there was nobody to do one touch pass with. I wish this will be rectified sha cos what the LHS is enjoying now is what we want to be seeing on the RHS too.

5... Saliba!!!! That goal was wonderful but then it's just the icing of the cake for such an even more wonderful performance. This guy is certainly a rock. Hardly beaten, good aerially, confidence on the ball very very impressive. Having him and Gabriel in that backline always give me Joy in my defence. When last have I been this confidence with such a pairing??
White was impressive ystdy. Solid defensively and good offensively too. Much better attack than the two previous matches imho. Maybe he's growing into the role. Fingers crossed!!

6.. looking at our bench ystdy made me know how far we've come. I look at that bench and there's no person there that I wouldn't want to see come on as a sub. It's really amazing to be honest. It's not surprising how we still fashioned out goalscoring chances when those players were subbed on.

7... I can feel the togetherness in the team. This is a team that no one is thinking about himself but want to fight for each other and is really happy with one another's success. Look at the way they all celebrated that Saliba goal. Look at the way they were all finding Jesus to score after 3 goals up. It's really amazing Tbh!
If there's one thing I want to really appreciate Arteta for again, this is it.

Fulham next but let's get the 3points. I know they're good aerially but then I'm confident of us dealing with such threat. Let's make it 4/4
